Description:
Author(s): Simone Ferraro, J. Colin Hill, Nick Battaglia, Jia Liu, and David N. Spergel The kinematic Sunyaev-Zel’dovich effect produces a CMB temperature change caused by Compton scattering of CMB photons by free electrons. The authors use this probe of the large-scale electron distribution to measure the cosmic baryon distribution and ionized gas abundance, which can be used e.g. to detect the “missing baryons” assumed to reside in the \emph{Warm-Hot Intergalactic Medium}.
