    Notes: Résumé Nous appliquons le modèle de neurone introduit dans un article antérieur à l’étude d’une microstructure isotrope. La stabilité de cette microstructure implique l’existence d’une régulation d’activité que le principe de construction adéquate permet de définir entièrement. Nous aboutissons à une conception stratifiée du cerveau. Un réseau de neurones spécialisés exercerait, grâce à certains médiateurs chimiques, une action diffuse qui modulerait les propriétés du réseau localisé classique. Les lois de Pavlov peuvent être retrouvées à partir des propriétés de la microstructure et de celles de la régulation. La microstructure isotrope peut également fonctionner comme analyseur. Un certain nombre de temps caractéristiques apparaissent alors, qui semblent jouer un grand rôle en psychologie.

    Notes: Abstract This is the continuation of part I, which was published in the September, 1963, issue ofThe Bulletin. Section 5 treats the special case in which the left absorbing barrier recedes to −∞, leaving essentially only one barrier at a finite distance Λ (〉0) from the origin. The eigenfunctions are now parabolic cylinder functions. The limiting cases Λ→+∞ and Λ→0 are also considered. Though meaningless for practical applications to our problem, they are of interest, mathematically, because the Green’s function for the solution of the Fokker-Planck equation assumes a particularly simple form. In section 6 we study, by means of an example, how the “force of mortality” may vary with time before attaining its final asymptotic value. Section7, still dealing with only one absorbing barrier, shows that our results for “strong homeostasis” are identical with those derived by Chandrasekhar for the escape of particles through a potential barrier in the limiting case of quasi-static flow. Precise conditions are given for the validity of both the quasi-static and the Smoluchowski approximations to the Fokker-Planck equation. Finally, in section 8, a brief mention is made of Gevrey’s method for the solution of parabolic partial differential equations.

    Notes: Abstract The derivation of learning models relative to choice behavior in experimenter-subject controlled experiments with two outcomes (right or wrong) is considered from the point of view that any such model must satisfy a criterion of optimality. The criterion adopted for investigation, termed optimal asymptotic behavior, is that of the subject asymptotically learning which of the alternatives has the greater probability of being correct. A class of path-dependent linear models is posed as possible candidates. It is shown that no members of this class satisfy the criterion although two of them approach it by making a learning parameter small enough. The possible implications of this are discussed.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Jagdwissenschaft hat sich im Laufe der letzten etwa 50 Jahre aus der Zusammenfassung ihrer natur- und geisteswissenschaftlichen Grundlagen unter Hinzutreten der die Jagd betreffenden technischen, wirtschaftlichen und politischen Faktoren abgerundet. The bag on young hares has been the same in either hunting-manner, whereas more old ones escaped the kill by driving the hares towards the shooters.
    Abstract: Résumé Dans la même varenne on a tué sur un district de 100 ha des 15 lièvres par placer les chasseurs en face des batteurs et des 24 lièvres par battue concentrique. C'est le même nombre des jeunes lièvres, qui est tué par les deux manières de chasser. Les chausseurs placés en face des batteurs plus des lièvres vieux s'échappaient.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Im gleichen Jagdgebiet wurden auf 100 ha abgejagter Fläche bei Vorstehtreiben 15 Hasen, bei Kesseltreiben 24 Hasen erlegt. Die Strecke an Junghasen war bei beiden Jagdarten gleich groß, während bei den Vorstehtreiben mehr Althasen dem Abschuß entgingen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The growth of horns of the first three years is decisive for the size of the ripe trophy; from this reason the form of the horns during youth is especialy fit to draw from it conclusions as to the quality of the ripeness-form of the horns. The first two classes of age being to be recognized with security with regard to their age, the shooting off according the size of horns in the class of the yearlings and two years old ones, should be furthered. For this purpose there are given directions, according to the local experiences, for the distinction of males to be shot off and those promising for the time to come, within these two classes of age.
    Abstract: Résumé La croissance des cornes du chamois pendant les premières trois années c'est décicive pour la vigueur du trophée mûr; c'est pourquoi c'est la forme du corne pendant le jeune âge, qui est particulièrement propre à en tirer des conclusions à l'égard de la qualité de la forme de maturité du corne. Les premières deux classes d'âge étant connaissables avec certitude eu égard à leur âge, on devrait favoriser la chasse relectif dans la classe des animaux d'un et de deux ans. A cela d'après les expériences locales, des directions sont données pour la distinction des mâles à abattre et ceux-ci qui promettent des trophées forts pour le temps à venir dans ces deux classes d'âge.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Das Kruckenwachstum der ersten drei Jahre ist entscheidend für die Stärke der reifen Trophäe; deshalb ist die Jugendform der Krucke besonders geeignet, aus ihr Rückschlüsse auf die Qualität der Reifeform der Krucke zu ziehen. Da die ersten beiden Altersklassen mit Sicherheit auf ihr Alter anzusprechen sind, sollte man den Wahlabschuß in der Klasse der Jährlinge und Zweijährigen fördern. Dazu werden nach den örtlichen Erfahrungen Richtlinien für die Unterscheidung von Abschuß- und Zukunftsböcken in diesen beiden Altersklassen gegeben.

    Description / Table of Contents: Résumé Du territoire de Salzbourg (Tauern) on a pû constater que le vautour fauve (Gyps fulvus fulvus) soit devenu un oiseau d'été qui revient régulièrement. La limite inférieure de diffusion d'altitude est rapportée à 1000 m NN. Le nombre, annuel des vautours habitant ce territoire de Mai à September (en moyen 200 vautours d'oie) dépend directement du temps de départs des moutons pour les Alpes et du nombre départi. Les vautours fauve n'airent pas dans les Alpes de Salzbourg, ils viennent des Balkans après la couvaison au mois de Février. Les gypaètes barbus sont par contre devenus depuis 25 ans oiseaux de demeure dans ce territoire.
    Notes: Summary In the Tauern area near Salzburg the griffon-vulture (Gyps fulvus fulvus) is observed as a regular summer bird. The lowest limit of its occurrence is reported to be about 1000 m NN. The number of vultures living from Mai to September in this area (averagely about 200) shows an immediate dependence on the date of the departure of sheep for the Alpine pastures and the quantity of sheep to be found there. The griffon-vultures do not build their eyries in the Salzburg mountains, but they immigrate into this area after their hatching time in February, coming from the Balcans. The bearded vulture (Gypaetus barbatus), however, returned to keep to these same grounds since about 1930.

On a proposé d'installer un bureau central pour l'Autriche, la Bavière, la Suisse, l'Italie et la Yougoslavie et de rendre de rigueur la notification de l'apparition, de la gale de chamois aux autres pays.
    Notes: Summary The scab of the chamois has grown to such an extend that we cannot hope to exterminate it, but can only try to prevent further extension and the formation of new centres of contagion. With this end in view it has been recommended to create a common centre for the countries of Austria, Bavaria, Switzerland, Italy and Yugoslavia, together with an obligation to report new cases to all the countries above mentioned.

    Description / Table of Contents: Résumé Depuis 1946 on a fait des recherches relatives au menu gibier le plus important de la Pologne le lièvre de champs (lepus europ. Pall.) dans les districts gouvernementaux de Gdansk et de Bydgoszcz à l'aide des butins de la chasse aux lièvres et au lièvres vivant. L'index moyen de rendement (lièvres tués sur 100 ha) est entre 15 et 50 pièces par 100 ha. La proportion moyenne entre hases et lièvres est de 50,7% ♂ et 49,3% ♀. Le poids moyen de 1404 lièvres tués en 1953 était de 4,2 kos, le poids maximal est 5 kos. Quoique l'été fût assez sec et qu'on suppose que la réproductibilité d'une paire de lièvres soit de 10 jeunes lièvres, on a pû constater par une hase tuée seulement 0,54 jeune lièrre. Il fut pour le moment impossible de trouver une raison objective pour cette proportion très base. Pour les autres parts de la Pologne l'année 1953 était une année de lièvres très mauvaise, et seulement les districts du Nord avaient une population satisfaisante. La part de la venaison par lièvre est en moyen 35,4% par poids moyen de 4,1 kos. La viande très maigre du lièvre contient 0,2% de graisse mais par contre approximativement 25% d'albumine.
    Notes: Summary Since 1946 there have been realized investigations about the most important small game of Poland, the field hare (Lepus europ. Pall.), uitilizing bagged and living hares in the administrative districts of Gdansk and Bydgoszcz. Results: Average index of production (=number of pieces of bagged hares on 100 ha) fluctuates between 15 and 50 hares/100 ha. The average proportion of sex is 50.7% of ♂ hares and 49.3% of ♀ hares. The average weight of 1404 hares shot in 1953 was 4.2 kilos; the maximum weight was 5 kilos. Although the summer of 1953 was dry in the district of Gdansk, only 0.54 young hares fell from 1 shot old, female hare in spite of the supposed average propagation of 10 young hares out of 1 couple of old hares. This small number may at present not be interpreted objectively. In other parts of Poland 1953 has been a really bad hare year, only the Northern districts had a good stock. The average eatable game part of a hare amounts to 35.4% of an average total weight of 4.1 kilos. The very lean hare meat contains 0.2% of fat, but about 25% of albumen.

Ce fut cependant la Loi de Chasse de 1938 qui a rendu possible la création d'une organisation plus solide, ayant à sa disposition des moyens suffisants. Après un développement de plusieurs années le Gouvernement Suèdois vient d'installer cette année un Conseil indépendant pour l'exploration du gibier. Ce Conseil a les buts suivants: Suivre de près sur son domaine d'activité au développement tant à l'intérieur du pays qu'à l'extérieur. Créer une collaboration entre les diverses Organisations d'exploration et avoir soins d'éléver l'efficacité des recherches. Le Conseil doit soutenir en outre l'initiative importante de chaque Organisation pour l'exploration du gibier et au besoin saisir lui-même l'initiative pour encourager une telle exploratation. L'exploratation du gibier a lieu maintenant principalement à l'Université d'Economie Forestière à Stockholm sous la direction de M. le ProfesseurNotini et à l'Institut National vétérinaire de M. le Docteur med. vet.Borg. Certaines explorations pratiques seront l'objet des recherches faites par l'aide de champ de l'Union des Chasseurs,M. Nils Höglund.
    Notes: Summary Game Research in Sweden has been taken up in the first place by the “Swedish Union of Hunters”, founded over 100 years ago. Only the Shooting Law of 1938 made a firmer organization and the disposition of means possible. After several years' development there has been appointed by the Swedish Government in this year an independent Council for Game Research, which has the following tasks: The Council has to follow the development in its sphere of activity as well within its native country as in foreign countries. It has to act for a co-operation in research, which is carried through by different research organs, and to take care of the raise of research effectivity. Besides the Council has to support the initiative of every research, which is important for the care of game, and it has to seize the initiative for the promotion of such research itself, if required. At present game research is carried through chiefly by the “Academy of Forestry” at Stockholm (under direction of ProfessorNotini) and in the “National Veterinary College” (by Dr. med. vet.Borg). Besides there exists a certain practical investigation of the subject in the “Union of Hunters” by Field-AssistentNils Höglund.

On a surtout pas assez pris en considération les facteurs concernant la paisson. En 33 administrations de cantons on vient de vérifier les rélations entre le poids moyen des fauves et celles des conditions dans les cantons, la qualité de populations était entre 51,7 et 72,8 kos. Il était impossible d'établir une rélation quelconque entre les conditions de vie dans le canton et le poids de la venaison. Il était en particulier impossible de reconnaitre une influence exercé par le climat. De ces recherches on doit conclure, que les différences des mésures corporelles dépendent des dispositions de la race. La profusion des fauves, d'abord ferme, s'est relâcher en ilots isolés. Par l'abattement sans plan, une diminution des allèles dans ces groupes isolées a eu lieu, qui a amené une formation des différences raciales. Il en suit pour le pratique que, lièrement la qualité de l'état du gibier peur être seulement corrigé dans une mésure limitée par l'amélioration du paisson et 2ièmement, qu'on peut seulement avoir un succès par l'élimination, s'il y a encore des bonnes qualités héréditaire et que, 3ièmement il faut amener les bêtes ayant ces qualités héréditaire requises, si la population en est dépourvu.
    Notes: Summary The explanations given byBeninde for the differences in the body weight of red deer are not satisfactory, above all the factor of browsing has not been considered sufficiently. Rherefore the relation between the average weight of grown animals and the conditions of the district have been examined in 33 Forestry Districts of Western Germany. The quality of populations was between 51.7 and 72.8 kilos. There could not be proved relations between the conditions of the living space and the weight of game within larger areas, especially there could not be recognized any climatical influence. The investigations permit the conclusion that differences are caused by racial particularities concerning size of bodies. The originally close distribution of red deer has been dissolved into isolated isles. By arbitrary shooting a diminution of alleles within the isolated populations has taken place which is the cause of the formation of racial differences. For practical purposes we may draw the following conclusions: 1. the quality of a stock may be improved by improved browsing only up to certain limit, 2. the method of selective shooting may lead to good results if there are still hereditary qualities of good condition, 3. it is necessary to introduce heads of deer of better hereditary qualities, if such have disappeared out of the population.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary Investigations proved that damages caused in the fields by red deer, fallow deer, and wild boars reach their culmination during certain summer months. Winter damages are caused only by wild boars in the potatoe fields of the year before now sown with rye. The question of the number of nights of damaging following one another could be cleared for the area of investigation. With red and fallow deer likewise a quick decrease of field damages could be observed with the beginning of ruttishness. A noticeable decrease of winter field damages caused by wild boars could not be observed during ruttishness. The opinion stated up to now that wandering fallow deer would not cause concentric field damages did not prove true within the district of observation.
    Abstract: Résumé Les recherches ont prouvé que les dégâts causés dans les champs par les bêtes fauves, les daims er les bêtes noires arrivent à leur point culminant pendant certain mois d'été. Dégâts causés dans les champs hibernales sont uniquement produits par les bêtes noires sur soles de pommes de terre de l'année précédente dont la semaille fut faite avec seigle. La question après le nombre des nuits se succédant pouvait être éclaircie pour la domaine d'observation. Une diminution rapide des dégâts causés dans les champs et produits par les bêtes fauves et les daims pouvait être observé également pour tous deux. Par contre il était impossible de constater une diminution sensible des dégâts causés dans les champs hibernales et produits par les bêtes noires pendant le temps de leur ivresse. L'opinion soutenue jusqu'ici que le daim vagabond ne causera pas de dégâts concentrés dans les champs ne se trouvera pas justifié pour le district d'observation.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Durch Untersuchungen wurde bewiesen, daß die Feldschäden von Rot-, Dam- und Schwarzwild in bestimmten Sommermonaten ihren Höhepunkt erreichen. Winterfeldschäden werden nur durch Schwarzwild auf den mit Roggen bestellten vorjährigen Kartoffelschlägen verursacht. Die Frage nach der Anzahl der aufeinanderfolgenden Schadensnächte konnte für das Untersuchungsgebiet geklärt werden. Bei Rot- und Damwild wurde übereinstimmend mit Beginn der Brunft ein schnelles Absinken der Feldschäden beobachtet. Ein merkbarer Rückgang der Winterfeldschäden durch Schwarzwild während der Rauschzeit konnte nicht festgestellt werden. Die bisher vertretene Ansicht, daß durch das unstete Damwild keine konzentrierten Feldschäden verursacht werden, erwies sich für das Beobachtungsrevier als nicht zutreffend.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary Although Mr.Gruschwitz chooses a percentage of increase of 70%, he reaches in his examples only 54%, because he relates the percentage to the does on March 31 st and not on June 1 st. The sexual ratio is not the ratio in numbers of the pubescent animals in summer, but the ratio of all male and female animals. It is necessary to make a difference between this ratio in March and in June. A large sexual ratio has to be reduced essentially to the lack of males, the cause being a much too heavy killing off of males. The insufficient killing of females is of importance, too. Measure and means of each interference with the population has to be decided by the slate pencil. It is not to be recommended to kill half of all the does within one year, because most of the does have young ones and choice is difficult.
    Abstract: Résumé Quoique le pourcentage d'accroissement queM. Gguschwitz avait choisi était 70% il atteint dans ces exemples seulement 54%, puisqu'il se rapporte chez les chevrettes sur le pourcentage du 31 mars et point sur celui du 1 er juin. La proportion entre les sexes n'est point la proportion numérique des pièces en état de puberté pendant l'été; mais la proportion de tous les mâles envers toutes les femelles. Il est donc nécessaire de faire une différence entre la proportion du mois de mars et celle du mois de juin. Une grande proportion entre les sexes doit être attribuée essentiellement à un manque en boucs; la raison en est un abattement en boucs de beaucoup trôp élevé. A part de cela, un abattement insuffisant en chevrettes n'a presque pas d'importance. C'est le crayon d'ardoise qui fixe l'étendue et la façon de chaque empiètement dans l'état. Mais il nést point applicable de faire abattre la moitiè de toutes les chevrettes au cours d'une année, puisque la plupart des chevrettes conduisent et en cela même un abattement sélectif devient de plus difficile.

Das Geschlechterverhältnis ist nicht das Zahlenverhältnis der geschlechtsreifen Stücke im Sommer zueinander, sondern das Verhältnis aller männlichen zu allen weiblichen Stücken. Nötig ist, dieses Verhältnis im März von dem im Juni zu unterscheiden. Ein weites Geschlechterverhältnis ist im wesentlichen auf Mangel an Böcken zurückzuführen, die Ursache ist ein viel zu hoher Bockabschuß. Ungenügender Rickenabschuß ist daneben kaum von Bedeutung. Das Maß und die Art jedes Eingriffes in den Bestand bestimmt der Rechenstift. Die Hälfte aller Ricken innerhalb eines Jahres abzuschießen, ist nicht angebracht, weil die meisten Ricken führen und der Wahlabschuß erschwert wird.

Rock partridges are approached behind movable screens, pheasant cocks are attracted by the flattering noise of house fowl. — This survey includes also ancient means of trapping birds, possibly no longer in use, and is restricted to the Southern marginal regions of the Caspic Sea (including the Eastern Caucasus), according to literature and to personal observations in 1956. In the beginning questions of the imperilment of birds and the necessity of educational measures are being discussed.
    Abstract: Résumé On donne ici la description de quelques methodes pour attraper les oiseaux, soit à I'aide d'un panneau ou à I'aide des rets ou lacets. En plus sont donnés des indications sur la chasse aux cailles avec javelot, la chasse à courre sur Tetraogallus, la chasse aux canards à I'aide d'une masque faite d'un potiron et la chasse au vol. Les oies sont abattus à I'aide des fusils d'une tranchée ou après les avoir cerné d'une voiture allant en terrain. Les bartavelles sont abordés derrière un paravent portable; les coqs de faisan pipé avec le son ballottant des poules domestique. — Ce précis comprend aussi des methodes anciens pour attraper les oiseaux partiellement éteindus aujourd'hui, et se restreind sur les régions méridionals et marginals de la mer caspienne (les régions caucasiennes orientales inclus), selon la literature et des observations propres en 1956. Au commencement les questions des dangers aux oiseaux et la des mesures pédagogiques son traités.

Angaben über die Jagd auf Wachteln mit Wurfstöcken, die Hetzjagd auf Königshühner, den Entenfang mit Hilfe der Kürbismaske und die Beizjagd. Mit Schußwaffen werden Gänse vom Schützenloch oder nach Einkreisen mit dem Geländewagen erlegt. Steinhühner werden hinter einem tragbaren Schirm angegangen, Fasanenhähne mit dem Flatterlaut der Haushennen angelockt. — Diese Übersicht bezieht auch alte, vielleicht zum Tiel jetzt erloschene Fangweisen ein und beschränkt sich auf die südlichen Randgebiete des Kaspischen Meeres (einschließlich Ost-Kaukasus), nach der Literatur und nach eigenen Beobachtungen 1956.     Description / Table of Contents: Summary The system of fundamental hydrodynamic and thermodynamic equations of ideal baroclinic fluids is converted for isentropic processes into a complete system of conservation principles, by deriving to new conservative field parameters. In addition to the specific entropy andErtel's formulation of the potential vorticity theorem there appear three further hydrodynamic field parameters which are constant and conservative. In principle, any number of such conservation principles can be derived, howver, only a limited number are independent of each other. The possibility of a prognostic application is suggested.
    Abstract: Résumé Le système des équations primaires de l'hydro-thermodynamique des fluides baroclines idéaux est transformé ici en un système complet de théorèmes de conservation. Pour ce faire, on se sert de nouvelles grandeurs conservatrices du champ pour définir les changements d'état thermodynamiques isentropes. A part l'entropie spécifique et la grandeur des tourbillons d'Ertel («vorticity» potentielle), on utilise trois autres grandeurs du champ thermodynamique. Celles-ci sont individuellement constantes dans le temps et, par là, conservatrices. En principe, on peut faire appel à un nombre indéterminé de théorèmes de conservation, pourtant, seul un nombre réduit d'entre eux est vraiment indépendant. En outre, on signale brièvement une possibilité d'application de cette théorie aux prévisions météorologiques.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Das System der hydro-thermodynamischen Grundgleichungen idealer barokliner Flüssigkeiten wird für isentrope thermodynamische Zustandsänderungen durch Herleitung neuer konservativer Feldgrößen in ein vollständiges System von Erhaltungsätzen umgewandelt. Außer der spezifischen Entropie und derErtelschen Wirbelgröße (potentielle Vorticity) treten drei weitere hydrodynamische Feldgrößen auf, die individuell-zeitlich konstant und damit konservativ sind. Im Prinzip ist die Herleitung beliebig vieler Erhaltungssätze möglich, doch ist nur eine begrenzte Zahl voneinander unabhängig. Auf die Möglichkeit einer prognostischen Anwendung wird kurz hingewiesen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary Hurricane and typhoon are considered as built up from logarithmically curved exchange cylinders. These bihelices are formed by the confluence of two air-currents: the tropical warm air in shape of a tube rising in the center and a second horizontal component. Some characteristics such as the shape of the rainfalls and of the electrical discharges, the species of clouds and the train are in agreement with this conception.
    Abstract: Résumé Ouragan et typhon sont regardés comme construits par cylindres échangeants — courbées dans un sens logarithmique. Ils se composent d'hélices doubles formées par le confluent de deux courants d'air: de l'air chaud tropical ascendant dans le centre sous forme d'un tube et d'une deuxième composante horizontale. Quelque caractéristiques comme la forme des chutes de pluie et des décharges électriques, les formations des nuages et la traîne sont en bon accord avec ce concept.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Orkan und Taifun werden als aus logarithmisch gekrümmten Austauschwalzen aufgehaut betrachtet. Sie bestehen aus doppelten Spiralen, entstanden beim Zusammentreffen zweier Luftströme: der im Zentrum röhrenförmig aufsteigenden tropischen Warmluft und einer zweiten horizontalen Komponente. Einige Merkmale, wie Art der Regenfälle, Art der elektrischen Entladungen, die Wolkenbilder und die Schleppe, passen zu dieser Vorstellung.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The upper wind measurements over Vienna during the months of June and December (1952–1960) taken as a sample show that a bias in favor of light winds has only influenced noticeably the data measured by means of the SCR-658 used up to August 1954. This bias means likewise a selection of weather situations and it has an influence on the shape of wind roses, too. With the data measured by means of the instruments used later-on in Vienna, GMD-1A and Decca Windfinding Radar WF 1, the bias in favor of light winds can be neglected.
    Abstract: Résumé La Mesure des vents en altitude à Vienne (Autriche) durant les mois de juin et décembre (1952 à 1960), pris comme échantillons, montre que l'effet d'élimination des quelques vents forts par la fonction de l'instrument n'a influencé que les mesures effectuées avec le goniomètre SCR-658, appareil utilisé jusqu'en août 1954. Cet effet se reporte sur le décompte des situations météorologiques. Il influenced également la forme des roses des vents. Il Peut par contre être négligé lors de mesures effectuées avec les appareils utilisés à Vienne (Autriche) après août 1954, soient le GMD-1 A et le Radar Decca WF 1.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Höhenwindmessungen über Wien in den Monaten Juni und Dezember (1952 bis 1960) zeigen als Stichprobe, daß ein Schwachwindauswahleffekt nur die Messungen mit dem Peiler SCR-658, der bis August 1954 verwendet wurde, merkbar beeinflußte. Dieser Effekt ist gleichzeitig auch ein Wetterlagenauswahleffekt und beeinträchtigt auch die Form der Windrosen. Bei den später in Wien verwendeten Meßgeräten, GMD-1A und Decca Radar WF 1, ist der Schwachwindauswahleffekt zu vernachlässigne.

    Notes: Summary Though many forms of series of Bessel functions of increasing order appear in the literature, they all seem to involve a term by term increase in the order by unity, possibly by 1/2, or by some integer greater than unity, usually 2. InWatson's “Bessel Functions” (1) no case appears in which the increase in the order is not an integer or 1/2. The purpose of this note is to give the sums of series of the form $$\mathop \Sigma \limits_{n = 0}^\infty J{}_s(z) and \mathop \Sigma \limits_{n = 0}^\infty ( - 1)^n J{}_s(z)$$ and similar series involvingI s , wheres is of the form 2kn+v andk is any positive real number. Such series have occurred in the theory of heat conduction and fluid flow (2). The method is to replace the function by a contour integral of Schläfli type.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Auf die zu einem Primideal $$\mathfrak{p}$$ gehörigenDifferentialkongruenzen 1 wird dieLiesche Theorie der Transformationsgruppen 2 angewendet und gezeigt, daß auf jeder irreduziblen algebraischen Mannigfaltigkeit der Dimensiond eined-gliedrige kontinuierliche Gruppe von Transformationen der Mannigfaltigkeit in sich existiert. Die Transformationsgleichungen werden explizit aufgestellt; sie vermitteln gleichzeitig eine im allgemeinen umkehrbar eindeutige Abbildung der Mannigfaltigkeit auf einen gewissen Fundamentalbereich im Parameterraum, in dem sich die Transformationsgruppe als Gruppe der Translationen ausdrückt.
