Es besteht kein wesentlicher Größenunterschied zwischen dem fossilen Bos taurus primigenius Bojanus und einem großen Teil der lebenden Hausrinder sowie zwischen wilden und gezähmten Formen von Bos grunniens. 2. Hohes Gewicht, große Festigkeit und rauhe Beschaffenheit der Oberfläche sind keine Anzeichen der Wildnatur, sondern Altersmerkmale. 3. Die bestehenden Unterschiede am Skelett sind vielfach zurückzuführen auf die Wirkung der Horngröße. 4. Furchenbildung und verschiedene Beschaffenheit der Oberfläche des Stirnzapfens, sowie Auftreten von Knochenzubildungen an der Basis berechtigen nicht zur Unterscheidung von Arten bzw. Wildformen; sie sind Alterserscheinungen. Auf Grund dieser Merkmale ist daher eine annähernde Altersbestimmung möglich. 5. Es sind demnach bisher keine allgemein gültigen Unterscheidungsinerkmale zwischen wilden und domestizierten Rindern gefunden worden. Diese Bestimmung im Einzelfall ist nur auf Grund der Unterschiede bezüglich Größe und Form des Hornes möglich.

Die Spiralwindung des Vas deferens um den Enddarm, die, von Brüel gefunden., Feuerborn zur forderung des hypopygium “circumversum” führte, wurde bestätigt. 2. Die übrigen von Brüel geschilderten anatomischen Befunde wurden im allgemeinen ebenfalls als tatsächlich vorliegend befunden, Abweichungen ergaben sich im besonderen hinsichtlich der Befestigung des Basalrings am 6. Sternit (dem 5. Brüelscher Zählung) und am 8. Tergit (7. Tergit Brüels); in der Hauptsache aber hinsichtlich der Muskulatur des Hypopygiums, die ausführlich beschrieben wird. 3. Bei der Untersuchung der Muskulatur ergab sich, daß; höchst wichtig für eine Drehung des Apparates, entgegen Bruëls Angaben, keine Muskelverbindungen von den eingesenkten Ventralplatten zu den Tergiten 6 und 7 (5 und 6 der Zählung Brüels) vorhanden sind. Interessant war vor allem der Befund der asymmetrischen Ausbildung des Introtractor longus. 4. Eine Nachprüfung der Entwicklungsgeschichte des Kopulations apparates konnte die von Feuerborn theoretisch geforderte Drehung um 360° beweisen. 5. Die Drehung des Hypopygiums erfolgt, von hinten gesehen, im Sinne des Uhrzeigers. 6. Die Drehung findet bereits auf dem Puppenstadium statt, etwa am 5. Puppentag; ihre Dauer erstreckt sich über böchstens 24 Stunden. 7. An der Drehung beteiligt sind sicher die drei letzten Tergite, nach der neuen Deutung die Tergite 10 bis 8, und die Sternite 9 (Samenspritze), 8 (Tragplatte) und 7 (Gabelplatte). 8. Der Chitinring (Basalring) nimmt nicht an der Drehung teil. Über die Mitdrehung des 7. Tergits geben die Befunde keinen Aufschluß. 9. Die Drehung des Hypopygium “cirenmversum” von Calliphora erfolgt nicht wie die des Hypopygium “inversum” von Psychoda durch die Wirkung von Torsionsmuskeln, sondern sie ist auf die Puppenzeit verlegt und zu einem Wachstumsvorgang geworden. 10. Hinsichtlich der Entstehungsgeschichte des Penis und seiner Anhangsgebilde, die Brüel in. seiner Arbeit offen lassen mußte, konnte festgestellt werden, daß die Zapfen des 2. Paares die Parameren und den Dorn, vielleicht noch Teile der Penisbasis bilden, während das aus den Zapfen des l. Paares entstandene “Ductusrohr” Bruëls den Penis wenigstens von seiner Spitze bis zum Dorn samt der Matrix seiner Chitinspangen aus sich hervorgehen läßt. Die vorliegende Arbeit wurde als Dissertation von der Philosophischen und Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität zu Münster angenommen.
