Durch die Untersuchungen Vorländer's über die Geschwindigkeit der Bildung des Berlinerblaus werden die von Reitstötter beobachteten Tatsachen bezüglich der Hemmung der Berlinerblaubildung durch Al(OH)3-Sol in keiner Weise berührt. 2. Wohl aber gestatten die Ergebnisse Vorländer's eine sehr wahrscheinliche Erklärung der genannten Hemmung: Durch die starke Adsorption des Ferrozyanions durch Al(OH)3-Teilchen wird seine Konzentration in der Lösung so stark herabgedrückt, daß man in ein Gebiet gelangt, in dem die Reaktion zwischen Ferrozyanion und Ferrisalz meßbar langsam erfolgt. Das Verhalten der verdrängenden Fremdelektrolyte, die Hemmung bei der Reaktion zwischen Kongoblau und Alkali, das Fehlen einer Hemmung bei der Wechselwirkung zwischen Ferrizyankalium und Ferrosalz stehen mit dieser Erklärung im Einklang.

Es wird die Adsorptionsisotherme für Goldchlorid in dreiprozentiger Chlornatriumlösung an Tierkohle, Holzkohle, Koks, Tusche und Kienruß bis zu den tiefsten erreichbaren Konzentrationen durchgemessen. Der äußerste gravimetrisch bestimmte Punkt liegt bei der Konzentration 18 mg Au/cbm. 2. Es wird der zeitliche Verlauf der Reduktion des adsorbierten Goldsalzes und die damit zusammenhängende Nachadsorption gemessen. 3. Es wird eine Methode ausgearbeitet, um durch Adsorption an Holzkohle kleinste Mengen gelöster Goldsalze, wie sie z. B. im Meerwasser vorhanden sind, genau zu bestimmen. 4. Die vorhandenen Angaben über den Goldgehalt des Meerwassers werden zusammengestellt und kritisch gesichtet.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung 1. Das Entstehen und das Wachstum der kollagenen Fibrillen ist ein organisch-synäretischer Vorgang, welcher sowohl bei der Entwicklung des Organismus wie bei der Bildung des jungen Wundgewebes statt hat. 2. Die verschiedenen spezifischen Eigenschaften der Stützgewebe, wie Binde-, Zug-, Druck- und Abnutzungsfestigkeit, sind Funktionen des kolloiden Zustandes des Gewebskollagens und seiner Mischlinge, des Chondrins, Osseins usw. Der Kolloidzustand des tierischen Kollagens ist als fest bis fest-weich zu bezeichnen. 3. Die Grundsubstanzen der Stützgewebe müssen bei der Wundheilung erweichen (quellen), da für die organische Vereinigung nur der Zustand des weichsten Gels oder der kolloiden Lösung in Betracht kommt; damit geht der hohe Grad der Verfestigung der sogenannten paraplastischen Substanzen verloren und von Festweich, über Weich zum Flüssig. Erst in letzterer Konsistenz sind Kolloide heilfähig. Umgekehrt geht der Zustand des in den jungen Bildungszellen aufgespeicherten Gewebskollagens bei der Heilung oder Vernarbung wieder von Weich bis zum Fest. Die Anbildung der spezifischen Grundsubstanzen zwischen den Zellen geschieht dutch Entquellung oder Synäresis. Das Extrem des synäretischen Bestrebens des Kollagens stellt sich in der Narbenkontraktur dar. Die in der Längsrichtung der kollagenen Fibrillenbündel wirksame ‚'kontrahierende“ Komponente der Synäresis, oder der Narbenzug, kann als eine besondere mechanische Funktion des Narben-Stützgewebes angesprochen werden. 4. Die indirekten Folgen der mechanischen Einwirkung bei der Wundsetzung, insbesondere die im Wundgewebe einsetzende Säurestauung und Säurebildung, bedingen das Einsetzen der Quellungsvorgänge. Umgekehrt führt der Rückgang der Säurestauung mit dem Eintreten normaler Blutversorgung zur Entquellung in dem bis dahin sehr wasserreichen jungen Narbengewebe.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung 1 Die Geschwindigkeit der nicht raschen Koagulation hydrophober Sole nimmt außerordentlich stark mit wachsender Elektrolytkonzentratton zu, während bei höheren Elektrolytkonzentrationen im Gebiet der raschen Koagulation die Geschwindigkeit konstant und von der Konzentration und Natur des Elektrolyten unabhängig ist. Die rasche Koagulation hat M. v. Smoluchowski molekularkinetisch erklärt, indem er annahm, daß alle Zusammenstöße zwischen Teilchen unelastisch sind und zur Koagulation führen, bei denen die Teilchen gegenseitig in die Wirkungssphäre ihrer Anziehungskraft gelangen. Um den starken Anstieg der Koagulationsgeschwindigkeit bei der nicht raschen Koagulation zu erklären, wird folgendes angenommen: die in diesem Konzentrationsgebiet vorhandene Ladung der Teilchen bedingt eine Abstoßung; nur die Teilchen gelangen zu einer, die Koagulation bedingenden Berührung, deren Geschwindigkeit bzw. endige Kraft einen bestimmten kritischen Wert erreicht und übersteigt, der um so größer ist, je größer die Ladung der Teilchen. Gemäß der Fehlerkurve nimmt die Zahl- dieser Teilchen, sehr stark zu, wenn diese kritische Geschwindigkeit mit sinkender Ladung abnimmt, die Elektrolytkonzentration also wächst. Die Formel, die man so für den Zusammenhang zwischen Koagulationsgeschwindigkeit und Elektrolytkonzentration ableiten kann, stimmt mit der Erfahrung überein. 2. Die unter 1 vertretene Anschauung macht es wahrscheinlich, daß der autokatalytische Verlauf für die nicht rasche Koagulation eigentümlich ist und nicht bloß, wie v. Smoluchowski vermutet, von Nebenumständen herrührt. 3. Auch die Vergröberung koagulierter Flocken und der damit oft verbundene Adsorptionsrückgang, die bezüglich des autokatalytischen Verlaufes und der Elektrolytabhängigkeit durchaus der Koagulation gleichen, lassen sich auf Grund der unter 1 entwickelten Auffassung deuten. Die Einzelteilchen in den noch lockeren koagulierten Flocken sind nicht völlig entladen und sind ferner z. T. durch äußerst feine Flüssigkeitshäutchen getrennt. Die Ladung bedingt wiederum eine Abstoßung, die nur von Teilchen überwunden wird, die in ihren Schwingungen eine gewisse kritische lebendige Kraft erreichen. Bloß diese durchbrechen die Flüssigkeitshäutchen und gelangen zur unmittelbaren Berührung und weiteren Verschmelzung, und auf dieser beruht die Vergröberung. 4. Bei Flocken, die mit schwach koagulierenden Ionen koaguliert worden sind, ist die Ladung größer und mit der Elektrolytkonzentration weniger veränderlich als bei Flocken, die mit stark koagulierenden Ionen ausgefällt wurden. Dies hat nach 3 zur Folge, daß sich erstere langsam vergröbern und daher durch Auswaschen unter Umständen peptisieren lassen, während dies bei den letzteren nicht der Fall ist Auch die Tatsache, daß ein gut meßbarer Adsorptionsrückgang nur bei stark adsorbierbaren und stark koagulierenden Farbstoffkationen beobachtet wurde, steht mit dieser Theorie im Einklang.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Aus Zinksalzlösungen entstehen bei Einwirkung von mit Säure neutralisiertem, sekundärem und tertiärem Natriumarsenat oder auch von Kaliumhydroarsenat bei bestimmter Konzentration harte, durchsichtige Gallerten von der Zusammensetzung: ZnHAsO4, welche sich bei zwei- bis dreimonatlichem Stehen oder beim Eintrocknen im Wassertrockenschrank zu Kristallen umbilden. Die Zusammensetzung dieser weißen Kristalle entspricht nach unseren Analysen bei Verwendung von tertiärem Natriumarsenat und Essigsäure der Formel [Zn3 (AsO4)2. 2(ZnHAs O4). 4(H2O)], während bei Verwendung von tertiärem Natriumarsenat und Salzsäure oder aber von Kaliumdihydroarsenat das entstandene kristallinische Salz sich als Zinkhydroarsenat von der Formel ZnHAsO4. H2O erwies. Demnächst werden wir über Kadmiumarsenate berichten.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung 1. Durch zweijähriges Lagern unter angegebenen Bedingungen ändern sich die Eigenschaften des Hautpulvers in bezug auf sein Verhalten zu Salzsäurelösungen nicht. 2. Die Menge Chlorwasserstoffsäure, weiche von der Hautsubstanz aus der rein wässerigen Lösung gebunden wird, ist unabhängig von der Konzentration der Säure. Das Gleichgewicht wird mit großer Geschwindigkeit schon vor Verlauf der ersten 5 Minuten der Einwirkung erreicht. 3. Durch Zusatz von Na Cl zu der Säurelösung wird die von dem Hautpulver gebundene Menge HCl wesentlich erhöht und wird gleichzeitig von der Konzentration der Säure in der Lösung abhängig. Die Aufnahme von Salzsäure aus konzentrierter NaCl-Lösung geschieht nach der allgemeinen Adsorptionsgleichung. 4. Diese scheinbare Adsorption scheint ein zusammengesetzter Vorgang zu sein. Die Adsorptionsfiguren machen den Eindruck, daß bei den niedrigsten Konzentrationen eine chemische Reaktion zwischen der Hautsubstanz und HCl stattfindet, und daß die entstehende Verbindung aus konzentrierteren Lösungen noch weiter Salzsäure adsorbiert. 5. Die vermutliche Verbindung des Chlorwasserstoffes mit der Hautsubstanz enthält auf 977 g Hautkollagen l Grammäquivalent HCl. Das so ermittelte Aequivalent der Hautsubstanz nähert sich sehr verschiedenen, in der Literatur angeführten Werten für das Molekulargewicht der Gelatine.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung 1. Es wurden Vorschriften angegeben zur Kontrastfärbung der Adsorption von Bakterien an einer Reihe von Pulvern und Faserstoffen (S. 36 und 37). 2. Es wurde der Durchmesser einer Anzahl adsorbierender Pulver bestimmt (S. 38). 3. Es zeigte sich, daß bei groben Größenunterschieden (Eisenoxyd 5,44μ und 173,7μ, Kieselsäure 6,84μ und 151,63μ) die Stärke der Bakterienadsorption von der äußeren Oberflächenentwicklung abhängt. — Nähern sich jedoch die Dimensionen der Pulver denen der Bakterien, so treten andere Einflüsse in den Vordergrund. — Es erwiesen sich Tier- und Pflanzenkohle sowie Fullererde allen anderen untersuchten Adsorbentien überlegen, trotzdem ihr mittlerer Durchmesser größer ist als der von anderen schlechter adsorbierenden Pulvern. Es wird angenommen, daß die innere Oberflächenehtwicklung bei den genannten größer ist. 4. Es ergab sich ein Parallelismus zwischen Bakterienadsorption und Adsorption des basischen Methylenblau. — Saure Farbstoffe zeigten gegenüber den adsorbierenden Pulvern andere Eigenschaften; sie wurden jedoch ebenfalls von Tierkohle stark adsorbiert. 5. Bei Berlinerblau- und Eisenoxydhydrosol wurde (bei Vermeidung ausflockender Mengenverhältnisse) eine Bakterienadsorption durch Gewichtsvermehrung (Zentrifugieren) nicht festgestellt.
