Description: 1. Cyphagogus gracilis zwei St\xc3\xbcck von Tandjong Morawa, Serdang (N. O. Sumatra) und Moeara teweh, Borneo, ist nach Sennas Beschreibung = Cyphagogus angusticeps Senna. Mit dieser Art konnte ich die gr\xc3\xb6sste \xc3\x9cbereinstimmung feststellen. 2. Cyphagogus moestus.

Description: Continuing the enumeration of the Butterflies from Simalur and neighbouring islets, collected by Mr. Edw. Jacobson, I especially call attention to the representatives of the above named family, which are very important to the knowledge of the fauna Indoaustralica. There were seven species: one of the genus Ideopsis, four of Danais and two of Euploea, of which number four were new forms. Later on I hope to publish a more detailed description of the Lepidopterous fauna of this remarkable group of islands, with the indispensable coloured plates.

Description: Among a number of 16 specimens of the Longicorn genus Zonopterus Hope, originating from Theinzeik (Burma), which, superficially regarded, appeared to belong to one and the same species, viz. flavitarsis Hope, I detected by a more careful examination two specimens, which, no doubt, ought to be separated from the other as a distinct, not yet described species, for which I propose the name Zonopterus perversus.\nThe principal characters by which this species is differentiated from flavitarsis are the following: Antennae much more slender and having the 5 basal joints black, the 6th and 7th stained at the base with fuscous; in flavitarsis the 4 basal joints and the base of the 5th are black.

Description: In \xe2\x80\x9eThe Rhopalocera of Java\xe2\x80\x9d, Danaidae, Satyridae, Ragadidae and Elymniadae by M. C. Piepers and P. C. T. Snellen (the Hague, H. Nyhoff, 1913) I have found on page 80, that D. melissa Cram. should be synonymous with D. limniace Cram. On the same page one read: \xe2\x80\x9eThe forms of this species (limniace Cram.) have been dealt with extensively by Fruhstorfer in \xe2\x80\x9eBerliner Entom. Zeitschr.\xe2\x80\x9d, 1899, and by Dr. L. Martin in \xe2\x80\x9eDeutsche Entom. Zeitschr. Iris\xe2\x80\x9d, 1910, where they have based several species and subspecies on these various forms; the latter attributes them to climatic influences. I suspect that here again we have simply to deal with phenomena of colour evolution; the specially pronounced spreading of the white, which plays the chief role here, being doubtless nothing else.\xe2\x80\x9d Always it will be a danger to determine a butterfly only by its external morphological characters, especially by its pattern and colour, even when people will explain the differences of pattern and colour by phenomena of colour evolution. Mr. Piepers is here not right, because there are also anatomical differences, which separate the two forms of Danais specifically. In \xe2\x80\x9eDie Grossschmetterlinge der Erde\xe2\x80\x9d, Tom. 9, pag. 202, Mr. Fruhstorfer has published, that the vulvae of the two quoted species as well as the uncus are different.

Description: Near to Antheraea imperator Watson (Notes Leyd. Mus., Vol. XXXV, p. 184, 1912/13) from Java, but the general colour is dark reddish brown with brownish orange. Antennae brown, pectinated; the first antennal joints quadripectinated, the last eight antennal joints very shortly bipectinated. Head small, with brownish red hairy front and very small palpi. Collar and prothorax yellowish white; thorax and abdomen dark reddish brown. Legs on the outerside with long hairs, which conceal the spurs on tibiae and tarsi.\nApex of fore-wing hardly falcate, more straight. Costa yellowish grayish white, except a patch before the large whitish costal spot near to the apex. The outer-corner of the apex redbrown. The outer-margin bends a little inwards to vein 5 with a rounded distal angle; the hindmargin nearly straight. On the discocellularis a nearly round ocellus with a black outline and a dark orange-brown inner part, in which a very narrow oblong small vitreaos spot. A distinct submarginal line, commencing at the whitish apical spot and continued obliquely to the hindmargin. This line is white at the innerside, then brownish and more yellowish at the outerside, straight, a little curved between the nervules 4, 5 and 6, not parallel with the outer-margin of the fore-wing. Between the ocellus and the submarginal line an orange-brown band is faintly indicated from costa to innermargin. Near to base of cell a trace of a whitish antemedial line with some black at the outerside. The rest of the fore-wing dark reddish brown.\nHind-wing triangular, with rounded angles; the outer-margin a little protruding on nervule 3. The ocellus on the discocellularis larger than
