Dabei haben die verschiedenen Anti-Doping-Programme und Maßnahmen eklatante Probleme und sind vielfach sogar widersprüchlich. So stellt eine Totalüberwachung der Athleten ihre bürgerlichen Rechte in Frage, viele Maßnahmen sind ineffektiv und der Kampf gegen das Doping wird oft inkonsequent geführt. Die Beiträge des Bandes nehmen daher aus verschiedenen Perspektiven eine fundierte Kritik des Anti-Doping vor und zeigen, dass der Kampf gegen das Doping einer dringenden Revision auf vielen Ebenen bedarf. Die moralische Aufladung des Themas ist dabei genauso ein Problem wie die Methoden, Strategien und - nicht selten - die Personalien selbst.

    Description: Vor mehr als 50 Jahren wurde in Deutschland eine Psychiatriereform eingeleitet, die aus den vormaligen Anstalten ein gemeindeorientiertes System sozialpsychiatrischer Hilfen formte. Von den Anfängen nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg bis zur Gegenwart bettet Christian Reumschüssel-Wienert die Entwicklung der Psychiatrie in die sozioökonomische, politische und kulturelle Entwicklung der Bundesrepublik ein. Eine integrierte Sichtweise berücksichtigt sozialpsychiatrische Diskurse ebenso wie psychiatrie- und behindertenpolitische Aspekte in klinischen und außerklinischen Kontexten. Es zeigt sich, dass die Sozialpsychiatrie gesellschaftliche Modernisierungsschübe reflektiert und nachholend umsetzt.

Zu diesen Instrumenten zählen globale Rahmenabkommen und Lieferkettengesetze ebenso wie CSR-Richtlinien und digitale Tools. Es zeigt sich, dass bei der Durchsetzung sozialer Standards vor allem Workers' Voice und Mitbestimmung zählen: Abhilfe ist nur möglich, wenn Missstände auch benannt werden.

    Description: Dieser Open-Access-Sammelband hinterfragt, wie sich internationale Kulturzusammenarbeit zwischen Ländern unterschiedlicher Kultursysteme und -traditionen erreichen lässt. In Deutschland ist Auswärtige Kulturpolitik von dem Gedanken geleitet, dass globale Herausforderungen Multilateralismus erfordern. Im chinesischen Diskurs dagegen finden andere Kernbegriffe wie z.B. „Tianxia“ Verwendung, die im nicht-chinesischen Kontext einer Interpretation bedürfen. Um der Differenz – aber auch den Gemeinsamkeiten – auf den Grund zu gehen, untersuchen Wissenschaftler*innen und Praktiker*innen aus China und Deutschland Selbst- und Fremdwahrnehmungen sowie Kooperationen in kulturellen Begegnungen. Auf diese Weise sollen Grundlagen für ein besseres gegenseitiges Verständnis sowie für kulturelle Kooperation zwischen beiden Ländern ermöglicht werden.

Inkonsistente wohlfahrtsstaatliche Rahmenbedingungen sorgen systematisch für Spannungen, die das Personal strapazieren und vielfach in Zustände der Zerrissenheit führen. In Fallstudien aus der Altenpflege und der geförderten Weiterbildung demonstrieren die Autor*innen, dass Emotionen hierbei eine kritische Rolle spielen. Sie zeigen zudem, wie diese Zustände darauf einwirken, mit wem sich die Beschäftigten in welcher Weise verbunden fühlen und wie es um deren Widerstandsbereitschaft bestellt ist. Wie die bestehenden Verhältnisse sich ändern ließen, wird anhand sozialpolitischer Alternativen und Veränderungspotenziale durch neue Formen kollektiver Interessenvertretung diskutiert.

Territory plays a rather marginal role in the traditional conceptions of democracy that in many ways still prevail today. Dorothea Mladenova hinterfragt diese Diskurse kritisch und zeigt, wie im Zuge der »aktiven Planung des eigenen Lebensendes« (shukatsu) neoliberale Prinzipien des »unternehmerischen Selbst« auf den Tod übertragen werden: Aus Selbstbestimmung wird gemeinwohlorientierte Selbstverantwortung.

Ariane d'Hoop explores one of these places: Drawing on fieldwork in a psychiatric day center for teenagers, she traces how spatial arrangements matter in the care practice. From a corner in which one can withdraw, to a kitchen inviting to hang around, or displayed artworks that pique one's curiosity, caregivers use the material environment to stir up the slightest affinity from teenagers. This study thus expands our idea of what attachment is, and makes us more able to recognize the subtle dynamics between care, things, and spaces. With a preface by Jeannette Pols.

    Description: Lieselott Herforth (1916-2010) war von 1965-1968 die erste deutsche Universitätsrektorin (TU Dresden) - und als Physikerin erfolgreich in einer Männerdomäne. In Berlin, Leipzig, Merseburg und Dresden beschäftigte sie sich u.a. mit radioaktiven Isotopen und der Strahlenmessung. Ihr Grundlagenwerk »Praktikum der Angewandten Radioaktivität und Radiochemie« (gem. mit Hartwig Koch) wird noch heute bundesweit in der Lehre eingesetzt und stetig aktualisiert. Spät trat sie in die SED ein und war Mitglied mehrerer hoher Gremien der DDR. Neben der Forschung engagierte sie sich für den wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchs und die Gleichstellung. Diese erste umfassende Biographie anlässlich ihres 100. Geburtstags zeichnet den Werdegang der Pionierin nach.
