    Description: Social reportages are written by reporters who fight for the weak and expose injustices. So it is said in the profession, in handbooks and among the genre’s supporters. But what is hidden behind the ideal? And what does the commitment look like when it is converted into text? This book highlights reportages by some of the 20th century’s most celebrated Swedish reporters and examines the ways in which their texts convey a commitment to the reader. The narratologically based analyses are performed against a background of changing ideas about a reporter’s role in society. It turns out that the commitment is often time-related and can be counteracted by generalizing values about the depicted people. Here, the difference between empathy and compassion becomes crucial. The selected reporters represent Swedish social reportage at central turning points within the tradition. Ester Blenda Nordström and Gustaf Hellström have been chosen for the 1910s, Ivar Lo-Johansson for the years around 1930, Barbro Alving for the 1950s, Jan Guillou for the 1970s and Maciej Zaremba and Karen Söderberg for the 1990s and 2000s.

    Description: This book highlights the diverse roles of the humanities in the history of the Swedish welfare society. This society has often been seen as dominated by an instrumental view of knowledge that rewarded the social sciences, natural sciences and technology, but the contributions in this book show the significant role that the humanities played in the Swedish welfare state. Various forms of humanistic knowledge and knowledge actors were part of large networks and left a clear mark on the public sphere and society at large. A narrative of the marginalization and crisis of the humanities in the postwar period must therefore be problematized. This edited volume brings together some twenty scholars from a number of humanities disciplines (history, history of ideas, media history, literary studies, archaeology, education, etc.). Much of the current research on the history of the humanities conducted in Sweden today is brought together here and put in relation to international discussions in fields such as history of humanities, history of knowledge, etc. The book is a sibling to the monograph Humanister i offentligheten, which was published in 2022.

    Description: In the book Anti-Racisms and Anti-Racists. Realistic utopias, tensions and everyday experiences, 24 researchers explore how resistance to various forms of racism is pursued and embodied among groups of people who dream beyond racism in a variety of ways, often contradictory, rarely successful, but always stubborn and forward-looking. The anthology illustrates the breadth of anti-racism, but also analyses its problems and weaknesses. Inspired by anti-, post- and decolonial traditions, among others, together with social movement perspectives, the anthology challenges a static and essentialising approach found in research and policy that tends to emphasise the stability and immutability of inequality, even in the case of racism. In addition to a variety of concrete analyses and descriptions of historical and contemporary activism, the various authors also show the possibilities of anti-racism and can thus provide some hope, in these dark times, for those who want a society without racism.     Description: Avaldsnes on Karmøy in Rogaland, which according to Snorre was King Harald Fairhair's royal estate, has been the center of a major research effort since 2007. Extensive excavations have, among other things, uncovered the remains of a lordly settlement from the AD 200s–400s and the ruins of a royal masonry complex from around AD 1300. Important insights have been gained about the place, the region, and the history of the Norwegian kingdom, and the results are also of significance for international scholarly debates. The papers in this book are based on lectures from the Karmøy Seminar 2022, and have a joint spotlight on the nature of lordship and kingship. The themes range from tribal societies in Roman times via the first kings of the Viking Age to the Norwegian kingdom's collapse at Håkon 6. Magnusson's death in 1380. Prominent professionals from Norway, Sweden and England discuss, among other things, the migrations of Ryger, Goths, and other tribes in the continent in the first centuries AD, the queens and queen mothers of the Viking Age, Harald Fairhair's overseas contacts, and the Norwegian kingship's roots in Nordvegen, the sailing route along the western coast of the Scandinavian Peninsula. The papers are written to be readable by scholars as well as the interested public.

Artiklene i denne boken baserer seg på foredrag fra Karmøyseminaret 2022, og har et felles søkelys på høvding- og kongemaktens vesen. Temaene spenner fra romertidens stammesamfunn via vikingtidens første rikskonger til det norske kongedømmets fall ved Håkon 6. Magnussons død i 1380. Frans-Arne Stylegar (f. 1969) er arkeolog, tidligere fylkeskonservator i Vest-Agder og direktør for Varanger museum IKS, og arbeider nå som kulturminneekspert i Multiconsult.

    Description: In this book, five experienced Nordic L1-didactitians and teacher educators search for their professional roots as pupils, students, teachers, teacher educators, managers and researchers over a period of fifty years. In the form of the scientific essay, various historical professional struggles and processes that may lie behind this professionalisation are examined, partly from a critical perspective: Academisation, theorising, didacticisation, textualisation, and internationalisation, especially within first language (L1), L1 didactics and L1 didactic research. Documentation and discussion of the complex relationship between institutionalised academic operations and personal and collective knowledge development nevertheless constitute a main line in the presentation. The L1 subjects in which the descriptions are anchored are Danish, Finnish Swedish, Norwegian and Swedish. The contributions provide personal, experience-based, historical representations of the development contextualized with the narrators' own research in the field as well as descriptions of general development trends within schools, education, and society. A framing chapter provides methodological and theoretical premises for the texts and a concluding chapter analyses the content of and discusses the outcome of the essays. The book is aimed at anyone who is interested in the development of professional teacher training on a Nordic basis, especially native language and subject didactics. Although Per-Olof Erixon and Sigmund Ongstad are editors, the book has been created in close collaboration with the other contributors, Sven-Erik Hansén, Ellen Krogh, and Jon Smidt.

    Description: During the 1920s and 1930s the wordless novel – stories told in black-and-white wordless woodcuts – was established as a narrative genre. The genre was most popular in Germany, but was as well known in other parts of Europé and in the US. The wordless novel was characterized by the absence of words, the use of woodcut and other relief printing techniques, as well as themes of social critique and serious existential issues. The purpose of the book is to - through the wordless novels of the 1920s and 30s - explain the uniqueness of the wordless narrative and thus the autonomous narrative possibilities of the image. The method of the examination is a close reading of the German artist Otto Nückel's wordless novel Schicksal (Destiny 1926). A comparative material consists of the Czech artist Helena Bochořáková-Dittrichova's wordless novel Z Mého Dětství (From My Childhood, 1929). Wordlessness is studied through the image's characteristics as an intermediary of messages and narratives and through comparisons with other expressions - the silent film, cirkus, expressionist dance and visual art, as well as medieval woodcuts. Narratives – which are usually put together by verbal communication – are in this project a tool for seeing: the image sequences or the image groups that ""replace"" the words - not as a lack or implied meaning of words, but as a personal visual story.

To serve, at a farm or at a manor, was ever since the thirteenth century the most common way to make a living, since poor people could by law be forced to accept work for a master. Service hence replaced thraldom in Sweden.In From slaves to servants, historian Martin Andersson explains how the regulations of the servants’ lives were gradually sharpened. Labourers had to become servants under the threats of punishment and forced conscription into the army. Wages were legally reduced, while other forms of making a living were blocked. The master’s right to use physical violence was increased, while the servant’s duty to obey was expanded.By the end of the sixteenth century, most farmhands and maids worked at manors or for the richest of the peasantry. They had consequently minimal chances of themselves becoming masters. Through studies of a rich material of regional law codes, court records, fine registers, royal letters and manuals for manor owners, the historian paints a rich picture of the daily lives of servants – a life formed by legal uncertainty, coercion, and poverty.

    Description: Among the literature aimed at students of art science and other image-interpreting sciences are a number of texts that deal with theories and theoretical concepts. However, what is largely missing, and which students often call for, are texts in Swedish that show how theories and concepts can be applied in concrete interpretation situations. The series Theoretical applications in art science aims to fill that gap, with the book Materiality being the fourth in the series. The book introduces and activates a concept that in recent decades has come to take an increasingly important place in humanistic research. Art scholars - but also archaeologists, anthropologists, literary scholars, ethnologists and other humanistic researchers - are increasingly interested in the material conditions for, and the manifestations of, people's social and cultural life and exchange. But despite its topicality in today's scientific conversation, the concept of materiality can seem elusive and elusive. It moves all the way from the most tangible analyzes of the material components of a cultural artefact, to the somewhat impenetrable theorizations of objectivity, agents and networks that are usually sorted under the label ""new materialism"". However, the book Materialitet gives concrete examples of how the concept of materiality can open up interpretations of important layers of meaning in works of art and other cultural artifacts. After the initial introduction where different perspectives and conceptualisations of materiality are discussed, six researchers each do their own analysis based on their subject area. The chapters are based on new research and are written specifically for this book. The different chapters together show the multifaceted nature of the concept of materiality, but do not lock it down to a definition, but open the eyes to a number of different interpretive paths.

    Description: Cultural heritage is not just something from the past, but always also reflects contemporary needs and desires. In the Traces of the Cold War describes the making of a diverse and innovative Swedish military heritage. The book shows how memories and material remains from a period characterized by fear and geopolitical tensions are infused with new meanings when bunkers, decommissioned military facilities and technology are transformed into luxury housing, attractive tourist destinations and museum exhibitions. Through field-visits to military heritage sites across Sweden, the authors examine what material objects, narratives and emotions that today represent the Cold War. These examinations show how military structures and equipment from a time associated with threat and danger become captivating elements of the cultural heritage, while also communicating specific ideas regarding security and protection. In the Traces of the Cold War takes a novel approach to cultural heritage by relating collective memory-making to security policy. Based on theoretical perspectives from critical heritage studies (CHS) and feminist international relations (IR), the analysis focuses on constructions of national belonging and underlines the role of gender and sexuality in narrations of security and protection. In a democracy, the subject of military violence must always be a matter of ethical and political conversations. Setting out from this assumption, the authors critically discuss how Cold War heritagisation produces militarization as “natural” and necessary. The book invites reflection on how history is written as well as on what the requirements are for a safe and secure society. In the Traces of the Cold War presents the results from an interdisciplinary research project. The authors are all researchers at Stockholm University and have written the book together.

    Description: Music plays an important role in many religions and in a variety of religious contexts. Music and Religion: Texts on Music in Religion and Religion in Music takes a look at the intersections between music and religion. We experience religion in music, and in religion we encounter musical expression. Although music and religion are unquestionably mutually pervasive, we can also come across gaps between them: Is it possible to move beyond a musical experience toward a religious one without having to hop over this gap? And is there any direct route from religion into music as an acoustic phenomenon? Without a religious interpretation of the music remaining? There is a wealth of research about music and religion, but little on how they meet. That is what this anthology seeks to remedy. Music and Religion will be relevant for anyone with an interest in encounters between these two phenomena. It will be especially relevant for students in performing, composing and scientific music education, as well as theology and religious studies. The anthology has been edited by Henrik Holm (associate professor in education at Oslo Metropolitan University and professor in philosophy at Rudolf Steiner University College) and Øivind Varkøy (professor in music education and music sciences at the Norwegian Academy of Music and professor II in music at Oslo Metropolitan University).

    Description: Complementary Modernisms in China and the United States: Art as Life/Art as Idea is the result of a conference where Chinese and Americanist art historians addressed the development of modernism in their respective cultural traditions. The chapters juxtapose historical developments without attempting to map connections or influences. Instead, both national modernisms are presented as part of the larger terrain of global modernism, but generated within specific, localized circumstances. This juxtaposition reveals significant differences as much as any particular moments of connection or similarities, disrupting any standard narrative of the primacy of French (or European) avant-garde art and its influence on more belated and peripheral communities. The differences that are revealed are not merely the result of the very different historical trajectories of each country’s moves into modernity. Rather, differences in attention and methodology are just as important, in particular the focus on the post-1980 development of Chinese art as part of the modernization of Chinese culture and economy, rather than the American perspective on post-1980s postmodern qualities.     Description: When Anna Johanna Grill travelled from Sweden to England in 1788, she was impressed by the vast array of consumer goods in shops. In her travel diary, she writes how the shopkeepers displayed goods in myriad of ways that fooled people into shopping. How did shops look like in Anna Johanna Grill’s hometown Stockholm in the eighteenth century and the early nineteenth century? Were there distinctive shopping streets? Who sold goods, who shopped them and what goods were available? How were goods displayed in shops and marketed? How households act in organising their purchases and consumption? From a microhistorical case studies, this richly illustrated anthology widens the perspective to social, economic and cultural practices in everyday urban life. The chapters demonstrate how shopping streets and shops with their range of silk fabrics, accessories, fashion plates, blacksmithing, wigs and hair pomades not only met the desires of consumers, but also enabled dreams of novel identities and social accession for themselves and their families.

In the Traces of the Cold War describes the making of a diverse and innovative Swedish military heritage. The book shows how memories and material remains from a period characterized by fear and geopolitical tensions are infused with new meanings when bunkers, decommissioned military facilities and technology are transformed into luxury housing, attractive tourist destinations and museum exhibitions.Through field-visits to military heritage sites across Sweden, the authors examine what material objects, narratives and emotions that today represent the Cold War. These examinations show how military structures and equipment from a time associated with threat and danger become captivating elements of the cultural heritage, while also communicating specific ideas regarding security and protection.In the Traces of the Cold War takes a novel approach to cultural heritage by relating collective memory-making to security policy. Based on theoretical perspectives from critical heritage studies (CHS) and feminist international relations (IR), the analysis focuses on constructions of national belonging and underlines the role of gender and sexuality in narrations of security and protection.In a democracy, the subject of military violence must always be a matter of ethical and political conversations. Setting out from this assumption, the authors critically discuss how Cold War heritagisation produces militarization as “natural" and necessary. The book invites reflection on how history is written as well as on what the requirements are for a safe and secure society.In the Traces of the Cold War presents the results from an interdisciplinary research project. The authors are all researchers at Stockholm University and have written the book together.

    Description: It is well known that Sweden once had a state institute for racial biology, as well as that extensive racial research was conducted in Sweden during the first decades of the 20th century. But what actually happened to Swedish race research after the 1930s - did it just disappear? In The science that disappeared? historian Martin Ericsson conducts the first systematic survey of Swedish race research from the mid-1930s to the early 1970s. It is a story of a racial science that survived the horrors of World War II and endured longer than we might like to believe as criticism grew in the post-war period. And about the Norwegian Institute for Racial Biology, which was never shut down, but lived on in a different form and under a different name. Ericsson shows that there was not a single Swedish racial research tradition, but two. One was based on the first director of the Institute of Racial Biology, Herman Lundborg, and had clear connections to Nazism and other extreme right-wing movements. The second can be said to be based on Lundborg's successor Gunnar Dahlberg and was instead anti-Nazi and in some cases even anti-racist. But both traditions agreed that there were different human races and that it made sense to try to measure differences between them. By following the Swedish race research until the end of the 20th century, the book also raises important questions about our own time and its interest in ""origin"" and ""descent"". How fundamentally different are today's dna analyzes from the old racial research traditions? What if we risk asking the same questions as 1930s racial biology stuck with new techniques?

    Description: Narratives about northern Sweden are often narratives about nature. This has been true throughout history and is still true today. Different ways of understanding nature have become intertwined with the place and the people who live there. The nature in northern Sweden can be magnificent and impressive, but it can also be desolate, threatening and dangerous. A dominant image of nature in northern Sweden - then as now - is the image of resources, assets. The overall aim of the study is to shed light on the role of nature in linguistic place-making in northern Sweden with a particular focus on the settler colonization during the 18th and 19th centuries. Through a selection of text sources, nature’s central place in the story of the colonization, of the place, its history, change and future is highlighted. The texts that are analyzed are the two journals in which Petrus Læstadius described his work as a missionary in Lapland, as well as Olov Petter Pettersson's detailed description of the settler colonization in the work Gamla byar i Vilhelmina. The settler colonization took place in areas with Sami presence and history and this study connects to the research field of Settler Colonial Studies in a critical discussion of the linguistic place-making in the texts. One of the aims of the study is to also shed light on the connections that exist between the settler colonization depicted in the texts, and the linguistic place-making with nature at the center that is ongoing in northern Sweden today.

    Description: Accessibility to art and cultural activities is a topic with increasing attention. Most municipalities in the Scandinavian countries have kulturskoler (extra curricular schools of music and performing arts) that offer training and experiences in – and through – art and culture subjects for children and young people. But the users of these institutions are not representative for the society around them. The majority of the children and young people who actually use the kulturskole come from middle-class homes and have well-educated parents. There is therefore an increasing and absolutely necessary attention in the municipalities on how kulturskoler can reach new target groups, ensure more fair representation and develop as institutions being inclusive forces in the local community. The development project ""Kulturskolen as an inclusive force in the local community (KIL)"" had this focus. In this anthology, there are nine independent peer-reviewed research articles with topics that are relevant for those municipalities wanting to develop their potential as inclusive forces further. The book is suitable for both researchers, students or teachers associated with the didactic field of art, but also kulturskole leaders, elementary school teachers and others who are interested in how the kulturskole can function as an inclusive force in the local community

Men kulturskoleelevene avspeiler ikke samfunnet rundt, for størstedelen av de barn og unge som faktisk bruker kulturskolene kommer fra middelklassehjem og har godt utdannede foreldre. Det er derfor et økende og helt nødvendig søkelys på hvordan kulturskolene kan nå nye målgrupper og sikre en bedre representasjon. Utviklingsprosjektet Kulturskolen som inkluderende kraft i lokalsamfunnet (KIL) hadde dette søkelyset. I denne antologien finnes ni selvstendige fagfellevurderte forskningsartikler med tematikk som er relevant for å kunne utvikle dette potensialet videre. I denna antologi studeras dock maktens olika uttrycksformer genom att fokus förflyttas från politisk och ekonomisk maktutövning kontrollerad av män till ett interaktionistiskt synsätt baserat på samspelet och kommunikationen mellan könen. Genom att se på genus som ett totalt socialt fenomen omfattande det medeltida samhällets alla sfärer öppnas möjligheter att undersöka hur makten verkade på olika nivåer inom samhällsstrukturen. Makten betraktas därmed varken som utgående från ett centrum eller helt dominerad av ett kön. I boken diskuterar forskare tillhörande olika discipliner såsom historia, konstvetenskap och litteraturvetenskap hur samverkan mellan könen tog sig uttryck inom kulturen, rättssamhället och den sociala organisationen. Bidragen behandlar inte bara Norden utan även hur könskonstruktioner påverkades och förändrades genom inflytande från samtida kulturella, juridiska och ideologiska strömningar i Europa. *** In discussions relating to their role during the Middle Ages, women are typically assumed to only have been “pawns in a political game dominated by men", or to have primarily acted as intermediaries of power. In this book, however, the varying expressions of power are studied by changing the focus from a political and economic exercise of power controlled by men, to an approach based on interaction and communication between the sexes. In this volume, gender is instead interpreted as a total social phenomenon comprising all spheres of medieval society. This approach provides new opportunities to investigate how power operated on different levels within a societal structure. Thus, power is neither seen as emanating from a centre nor as dominated by only one sex. Instead, it is regarded as an all-embracing societal web, woven through threads of mutual dependence between men and women. In this book, scholars belonging to various disciplines, such as history, history of arts and literary history, discuss how cooperation between the sexes found expression in culture, judicial spheres and social organisation. The contributions do not only consider the Nordic countries, but also how gender constructions were affected by, and transformed through, the influence of contemporary cultural, juridical and ideological currents in Europe.

    Description: Today's mathematics education has an impact even outside the confines of the classroom, not least through the relevance of mathematics in culture, economics, politics and in relation to power. Sociopolitical perspectives in mathematics didactic research provide insights into how education in mathematics is social and political. Research based on these perspectives suggests both critical questioning and not-yet-imagined possibilities for content, teaching, policy and further research. This book introduces, for a larger Swedish audience, the research orientations and strategies that sociopolitical perspectives have to offer. In the book, this is illustrated in several ways. The chapters describe current research on the socio-political challenges of mathematics education in several different contexts, e.g. classrooms, after-school programs, curricula, mathematics teacher education and even mathematics education research. In this way, perspectives are broadened to groups of people, institutions and forces, which constitute a network of mathematics education practice. The chapters present different philosophical and empirical studies, based on theoretical tools from philosophy, social science and cultural studies, critical studies of education and socio-cultural-political studies of mathematics education. Methodological and analytical strategies such as text and discourse analysis and case studies of practice are used. In this way, opportunities to research mathematics education based on socio-political perspectives are illustrated. The chapters use various writing styles which invite the reader into the world of research. Thus, the reader will encounter different ways of thinking about the role of mathematics education in the creation of modern Swedish society.

    Description: Homosexuality, bisexuality, transgender and queer have long been a sensitive topic in Christian churches. As society has changed, some denominations have become increasingly affirming, while others see the changes as incompatible with Christian values. A Conditional Community is based on in-depth interviews with 29 lgbtq Christians and is the first Swedish scientific study on the subject. Using a phenomenological approach, the author investigate how sexuality, intimacy and faith are experienced by the interviewees and how their Christian identity interacts with their identity as lgbtq people. A Conditional Community is aimed at teachers, researchers and students in fields such as religious studies, sexology, gender studies and psychology. The book is also of interest to professionals who require knowledge on the subject, such as pastors and therapists. Furthermore, it can serve as a basis for discussions and reflection on faith, sexuality and lgbtq in the Free Church contexts.

    Description: The publication publishes excursions of the Ljubljana Geographical Society, carried out between April 2015 and May 2019. If we break down individual contributions according to their main characteristics, we can point out some interesting findings. Let us first mention their concentration in the western part of Slovenia. Southwestern Slovenia stands out as an area of strong regional dominance, with the participants taking advantage of two excursions to the wide-open state border with Italy, created by Slovenia's entry into the Schengen area. The variety of excursions according to the method of implementation is also noticeable. As a rule, classic bus transport is enriched by walking. Completely different logistics were needed to carry out a cycling excursion through the Slovenian and Italian Karst. There is a continuing tendency for geographical knowledge to increasingly complement the content of other disciplines, especially archeology and ethnology, which certainly enriches excursions due to a different view of the landscape and emphases that geographers usually ignore or do not know much about.
    Description: V publikaciji so objavljene ekskurzije Ljubljanskega geografskega društva, izvedene med aprilom 2015 in majem 2019. Če posamezne prispevke skušamo razčleniti po njihovih poglavitnih značilnostih, lahko izpostavimo nekaj zanimivih spoznanj. Naj najprej izpostavimo njihovo osredotočenost v zahodnem delu Slovenije. Kot območje izrazite regionalne prevlade izstopa jugozahodna Slovenija, pri čemer so udeleženci kar dveh ekskurzij s pridom izkoristili na široko razprto državno mejo z Italijo, nastalo z vstopom Slovenije v šengensko območje. Zaznavna je tudi raznovrstnost ekskurzij glede na način izvedbe. Klasične avtobusne prevoze praviloma popestri pešačenje. Povsem drugačna logistika je bila potrebna za izvedbo kolesarske ekskurzije po slovenskem in italijanskem Krasu. Nadaljuje se težnja, da geografska spoznanja v vse večji meri dopolnjujejo vsebine drugih disciplin, predvsem arheologije in etnologije, kar ekskurzije zagotovo bogati tako zaradi drugačnega videnja pokrajine kot poudarkov, ki jih geografi na svojih poteh navadno prezremo ali o njih ne vemo prav veliko.

    Description: V tokratni knjižici so pripravljeni opisi ekskurzij v slovenske robne pokrajine: Prekmurje, Belo krajino, Kočevsko, Bloško planoto, Baško grapo in Koprsko primorje. Razvrščene so od severovzhoda proti jugozahodu~nekoliko izstopa Baška grapa, edina obravnavana pokrajina v severozahodni Sloveniji. Strokovne opise so pripravili poznavalci, ki bodisi živijo v tamkajšnjem okolju bodisi od tam izvirajo njihove korenine in so z njimi še vedno ohranili tesne vezi, tudi v poglobljenem zanimanju zanje. Podrobni opisi posameznih ekskurzij navajajo priporočljive točke za postanke in temeljitejše oglede značilnih pojavov in procesov, ob tem pa nazorno predstavijo aktualne tematike. Ob številnih zemljevidih, skicah, shemah, grafikonih in fotografijah je podajanje dovolj poljudno, da je razumljivo tudi povprečno razgledanemu bralcu.

    Description: This study attempts to illustrate the role of regional policy in the development of spatial structures and simultaneously determine the success and the possibly diverse response of individual instruments of regional policy to the structures of problem areas. We established that the influences of the regional policy are relatively minor, a consequence of the scant financial means devoted to the stimulation of regional development, the lack of power of the overall regional policy relative to all development currents introduced by inclusion in the European Union, and very aggressive globalization. However, we are able to cite some of its successes, mostly visible on the local level, although at higher levels their influence weakened. Because the goals of the regional policy in the previous period have not been achieved, we suggest some changes that would either strengthen the current method of stimulating regional development or abandon it altogether and turn toward the active stimulation of the polycentric network of cities that would result in the greater competitiveness of individual centers, which we hope would also have positive effects in their immediate hinterland.
    Description: Avtor v knjigi prikazuje vlogo regionalne politike pri razvoju prostorskih struktur, obenem pa ugotavlja uspešnost in morebitno različno odzivanje posameznih instrumentov regionalne politike na strukturne značilnosti problemskih območij. Poleg vidnih prostorskih vplivov so obravnavani tudi socioekonomski dejavniki, ki učinkujejo predvsem na prikrite prostorske strukture. V knjigi je zajet prostor kot celota, kot splet naravnih in družbenih prvin. Avtor ugotavlja, da so vplivi regionalne politike zaradi pičlih finančnih sredstev, nemoči regionalne politike ob vključitvi Slovenije v Evropsko unijo in globalizacije razmeroma majhni. V monografiji predstavljena raziskava je eden prvih poizkusov celostnega vrednotenja projektov slovenske regionalne politike. Poleg vrednotenja projektov podaja tudi širši vsebinski kontekst, ki lahko služi kot referenčni okvir morebitnim nadaljnjim vrednotenjem.

    Paleoekološke značilnosti apnencev v okolici Škocjanskih jam (2022)

    Description: Iz vremskih in kozinskih plasti so predvsem iz paleoekološkega in deloma iz biostratigrafskega stališča raziskani štirje profili iz neposredne okolice Škocjanskih jam. Namen raziskave je bil proučevanje okolja sedimentacije plasti z giroplevrami v vremskih plasteh in tistega dela kozinskih plasti, kjer se pojavljajo haraceje in polži. Školjke iz rodu Gyropleura, Apricardia in morda še druge školjke so v apnencih vremskih plasti na drugotnem mestu~školjke so živele v plitvi vodi nedaleč od obale, na drugotno mesto so jih prinesli valovi in tokovi~odsotnost rapidionin v horizontih z giroplevrami potrjuje trditev, da so bile lupine nametane proti obali, saj so rapidionine živele v izrazito lagunskem okolju. Na plitvo okolje sedimentacije kažejo tudi laminiti~pri haracejah iz kozinskih plasti imamo primere flore na mestu in primere presedimentiranih delov haracej (oogonijev)~oogonije so vodni tokovi prenašali proti globljim delom sedimentacijskega bazena. Skupaj z nepresedimentiranimi haracejami se pogosto pojavljajo tudi polži, s kemično analizo kisikovih in ogljikovih izotopov v vzorcih pa je bil ugotovljen večkraten vpliv sladke vode na morsko okolje.

    Description: V razvitem svetu je depresija ena najpogostejših duševnih motenj. Prizadene lahko kogarkoli in močno ovira vsakodnevno delovanje. Depresija je ozdravljiva, mogoče jo je preprečiti, predvsem pa je mogoče doseči, da se ne ponovi. Bipolarna motnja razpoloženja je prav tako pogosta in mnogokrat jo zamenjamo za druge duševne motnje. Spada med resne duševne motnje, vendar jo je mogoče uspešno zdraviti, preprečevati ponovitve in človek lahko z njo živi povsem običajno in uspešno. O duševnih motnjah še vedno ne zmoremo v naši družbi odkrito in brezskrbno govoriti, saj jih spremljajo stigma, sram, nerazumevanje in močan strah. Ljudje zato pogosto odlašajo z iskanjem strokovne pomoči, si skušajo pomagati sami in se včasih zatekajo tudi k neustreznim rešitvam. Zato priročnik o prepoznavanju in obvladovanju depresije in bipolarne motnje razpoloženja, s pomočjo osebnih zgodb običajnih ljudi pojasnjuje, kako poteka prepoznavanje teh dveh motenj, kakšno je življenje z njima ter kakšne so možnosti za samopomoč in zdravljenje.

Del besedil obravnava slavistično, zlasti slovenistično problematiko in znotraj te predvsem jezik Brižinskih spomenikov, del pa indoiranistično, tudi v povezavi s slavistično, vse pa v luči diahronega jezikoslovja. Razvrstiti jih je mogoče v naslednje skupine: (1) etimološko, v kateri so z etimološkega stališča prvič, na novo ali dodatno osvetljene posamezne besede, (2) slovnično, v kateri so obravnavani posamezni glasovni in oblikoslovni pojavi, (3) besedila s problematiko predzgodovinskih slovansko-iranskih jezikovnih stikov in (4) besedila, ki obravnavajo problematiko slovenskosti Brižinskih spomenikov. Besedila so razvrščena po takem kronološkem redu, kot so izhajali izvirni članki. Knjigi sledita dva dodatka, in sicer seznam uporabljene literature z naslovom Združeni viri in Kazalo izbranih besed oblik in morfemov.

    Description: The monograph ('Lipalja Vas and Its Slovenian Speech') presents a detailed and methodologically sophisticated description of the Zilja local dialect of Slovenian as spoken by its last speakers in the northwestern most part of the Slovenian ethnic territory.The introductory contribution ('Lipalja Vas 200 Years Ago: The Home of Kovači, Trinki and Temmli') authored by a historian and writer Vlado Klemše portrays Lipalja vas at the beginning of the 19th century on the basis of toponyms from the Franciscean cadastre. Karmen Kenda-Jež’s contribution ('Spoken Texts from Lipalja Vas'), which was prepared in collaboration with Robert Grošelj and Vera Smole, is the first detailed linguistic analysis of the Slovenian local dialect of Lipalja vas. It provides a commented selection of texts recorded at the research camp in 2005 written in Slovenian dialect transcription.
    Description: Monografija prinaša podroben in metodološko izdelan jezikoslovni opis slovenskega ziljskega govora zadnjih govorcev na skrajnem severozahodnem robu slovenskega etničnega ozemlja. Uvodni prispevek Vlada Klemšeta na podlagi zemljepisnih krajevnih in ledinskih imen iz franciscejskega katastra predstavlja podobo Lipalje vasi v začetku 19. stoletja. Prispevek Karmen Kenda-Jež, ki je nastal v sodelovanju z Robertom Grošljem in Vero Smole, pomeni prvo podrobnejšo jezikoslovno obravnavo slovenskega govora Lipalje vasi (komentiran izbor besedil). Skozi pripovedi informantov, vseh treh v vasi rojenih maternih govorcev slovenskega jezika, se odstira pogled v organiziranost družinskega in vaškega življenja sredi in konec 20. stoletja. Študija Roberta Grošlja opisuje skladnjo slovenskega koroškega ziljskega govora v Lipalji vasi na temelju skladenjskega dela vprašalnice za OLA. Analiza gradivsko temelji na pogovorih, posnetih v Lipalji vasi v letih 2000 in 2005. Monografijo sklene prispevek Mateja Šeklija, ki prinaša etimološko razlago in seznam slovenskih hišnih imen ter poimenovanj hišnih gospodarjev in gospodinj po starih hišnih številkah.

    Description: Movement and mobility, in its various modes, have strong implications for social, political and cultural dimensions of peoples’ daily lives and their broader social realities. The book addresses individual experiences of movement, focusing on spatial and temporal implications of movement and mobility. The core idea is that mobility and movement engender moving places – places the location of which is not geographically fixed but relative. Places such as home and homeland appear to be fixed and immobile, but in practice they are always contested and depend on practices, imaginaries and politics of movement. They are continuously redefined through given social, political, historical and economic contingencies. The book explores the interrelatedness between spatial configuration and practices and politics of movement, mobility and immobility. Ethnographically, the book explores the specificities of given regions, addressing two basic topics of place-making linked through movement. The first one is relationality, i.e. relations between centres and peripheries as well as relations between people and places as they are generated through movement. Both topics are explored ethnographically and comparatively, enriching theoretical discussion on movement, mobility, immobility and place making.

Kraji, kot so dom in domovina, za katere se pogosto zdi, da so sorazmeroma stabilni in nepremakljivi, so pravzaprav nenehno pogojeni in na nek način ujeti v prakse, imaginarije in politike gibanj. So odnosi in relacije, katerih pomen in lokacija sta odvisna od določenega družbenega, ekonomskega, zgodovinskega in naključnega konteksta. Knjiga združuje prispevke, ki izhajajoč iz etnografske perspektive naslavljajo gibanja in raziskujejo vzpostavljanje odnosov med ljudmi in kraji ter ustvarjanje relativnih lokacij v različnih, a med seboj povezanih območjih v Sloveniji, Albaniji in Argentini. Njihove diskusije naslavljajo dve med seboj prepleteni tematiki. Prva se nanaša na odnosnost med centrom in periferijo, kot tudi med ljudmi in kraji, ki se ustvarjajo skozi gibanje. Druga tematika omenjenega sklopa, pa povezuje koncept korenin in vračanja, ki je opredeljen kot fizično ali simbolno premikanje v določenem kraju in lokaciji.

    Description: The book Glasba, politika, afekt: novo življenje partizanskih pesmi v Sloveniji ('Music, Politics, Affect: New Lives of Partisan Songs in Slovenia') explores the potentialities of music in imagining alternatives and establishing alliances, which introduce new senses of belonging and solidarity in global neoliberal capitalism. It examines the reactualization of partisan songs in post-Yugoslav Slovenia with an emphasis on the collective spirit, its rebelliousness and emancipatory potential. In researching the “new lives” of partisan songs, the book focuses on the self-organized female choir Kombinat, an emblematic example of thinking about the partisan art in Slovenia today. Just a part of Kombinat repertoire, partisan songs are discursively, sonically, spatially, ideologically and symbolically reloaded, challenging thus the various boundaries in thinking about this legacy in Slovenian context. Using theoretical framework of affect theory, and particularly theories of music materialism and sonic affect, the book provides an alternative perspective to our understanding of political capacity of music. It addresses four main issues: the role of music and sound in political mobilization and participation, the potentials of musical alliances and musical self-organization and self-education, referencing musical past as a way of political engagement, and finally, revitalization and reactualization of socialist ideas and values in the current moment of global transition.

    Description: Molnik is a hill in the hinterland of Ljubljana in central Slovenia that has been known as an archaeological site for quite some time. Systematic investigations ensued in the 1980s and 1990s, led by Ivan Puš, then curator in the Mestni muzej Ljubljana. They revealed ramparts and habitation terraces on the summit of the hill, as well as flat and tumulus graves on five locations around the summit that date to the Early Iron Age and some finds from later periods.

In order to present this demanding and little-known topic to the widest range of readers, the handbook uses stories of everyday people to illustrate how their experiences of personality disorders intertwine with stress, mood disorders and problems with addiction.     Description: Ko govorimo o osebnostnih motnjah, se ljudje navadno odzovejo zelo čustveno. Največkrat se pojavijo boleča in neprijetna čustva. Tisti, ki so vpeti v odnos z osebo z izkušnjo osebnostne motnje, praviloma ne vedo, s čim se soočajo, občutijo pa nelagodje, obup, žalost, jezo in depresijo in dvomijo o lastnem doživljanju in dojemanju sveta. Bližnje osebe se pogosto počutijo, kot da bi bile »ujete v klobčič odnosa«, ki se kar naprej zapleta, ne pa razpleta. Osebnostne motnje povzročajo vsem veliko trpljenja, jeze in razočaranja in se kažejo v vseh razsežnostih človekovega bivanja, vendar so vedenje osebe z izkušnjo osebnostne motnje in odzivi okolice bolj pričakovani in predvidljivi, kot bi si lahko predstavljali. Da bi to zahtevno in pri ljudeh premalo poznano tematiko čim bolj približali najširšemu krogu bralcev, je v priročniku z zgodbami običajnih ljudi prikazan preplet njihovih izkušenj osebnostnih motenj, stresa, motenj razpoloženja in težav zaradi zasvojenosti.     Description: This volume (‘Former waste disposal sites in dolines and gravel pits’) presents former waste disposal sites in depressions (dolines and gravel pits) using relief analysis of the former and current landscape and based on comparing them with one another. A comprehensive methodological approach has been created called the three-dimensional (3D) model, which is used to detect and record unknown, hidden former waste disposal sites in depressions above sensitive aquifers. The research deals with the problem of former waste disposal sites from the viewpoint of discovering them, creating a registry, and studying noticeable surface effects on the landscape (relief, soil, and vegetation).
    Description: Monografija predstavlja nekdanja odlagališča odpadkov v kotanjah (vrtače, gramoznice) z uporabo reliefne analize nekdanje in sedanje pokrajine ter na podlagi njune medsebojne primerjave. Z analizo reliefa smo na vzorčnih območjih Logaškega polja in Logaškega ravnika ter Ljubljanskega polja določili izhodiščno stanje vrtač in gramoznic pred njihovim zasipavanjem z odpadki. Dobljene rezultate smo preverjali s terenskim delom. Vzorčili (sondirali) smo prsti nad odpadki, na preseku zasutih kotanj smo merili električno upornost tal, s fitogeografskim popisom pa smo določili indikatorske rastline, ki so pokazatelj navzočnosti organskih odpadkov v kotanji. Rezultati terenskega preučevanja pomenijo nova izhodišča za bodoče geoinformacijske analize rastlinstva in prsti na odlagališčih odpadkov. Izsledki monografije so pomembna podlaga za morebitno izdelavo katastra nekdanjih odlagališč odpadkov na ravni celotne Slovenije, kjer je odprtih še veliko metodoloških izzivov, povezanih z različnimi tipi podatkov.

    Description: The book brings a thorough review of landslide susceptibility in Slovenia. In the introductory chapter the most significant geographical and other Slovenian literature on slope processes is listed, and then the basic characteristics of landslides are explained. The landslide susceptibility in Slovenia is presented on the example of twelve large landslides, followed by the chapter on legislation on natural disasters in Slovenia.The most important part of the book is the detailed description of methods for elaboration landslide susceptibility maps with different methods. The deterministic, statistical and probabilistic methods and corresponding maps are described into detail. Such maps have been elaborated with the geographical information system using the digital elevation model 25 x 25 m. Landslide susceptibility is finally presented in the framework of the regionalization of Slovenia that had been elaborated by the Anton Melik Geographical Institute SRC SASA and for all Slovenian municipalities. The last chapter of the book is important for geomorphology, describing the role of the landslides for the formation of relief.The book is intended to be used in spatial planning, physical geography, geography of natural hazards and other branches of geography as well as in related sciences.

Najprej je predstavljen opis dvanajstih večjih pojavov, sledi poglavje o zakonodaji na področju naravnih nesreč v Sloveniji, najpomembnejši del knjige pa je poglavje z opisom metod za izdelavo zemljevidov plazovitosti. V knjigi so predstavljene deterministične, statistične in probabilistične metode. Za geomorfologijo je pomembno zadnje poglavje, ki govori o zemeljskih plazovih kot oblikovalcih reliefa.     Description: The monograph (‘The Slavic image of word : the forces of depiction in a Slavic language of the sixteenth century’) sets the groundwork for the elucidation of some historical development in the middle of the evolution of Slavic languages that also influenced the establishment of literary language both in Slovenia and Russia in the mid-sixteenth century (the beginning of Slavic literary and liturgy, the intertwining of Greek and Latin Christian linguistic patterns, connection to the East-West Schism in 1054).
    Description: Knjiga ob prikazu ozadja vzpostavljanja t. i. slovanske pismenosti, s posebno pozornostjo na soodnosu med besedo in podobo (vsebino in obliko) ter upoštevajoč slovensko-ruske razlikovalnosti, obravnava besedilni in jezikovni dosežek pisateljev Primoža Trubarja in Maksima Greka, katerima je zaradi različnih okoliščin prav jezik s slovansko besedno osnovo v XVI. stoletju predstavljal tudi osebni izraz. Ob ponujenih vzporednicah z miselno-duhovnimi in umetniškimi nazori tedanje nastajajoče intelektualne Evrope je njun jezikovni izraz tokrat preučevan z zornega kota mogoče sposobnosti predstavljanja, prikazovanja ter upodabljanja neke idealne podobe, ki znotraj duhovnega krogozora obeh pisateljev ter strogo teocentričnega sveta ne more biti razumljena drugače kot Božja. Zasledovane možnosti besednega učinkovanja, ki niso približki t. i. literarnih postopkov, ponujajo ogrodje opredeljevanja značilnosti neke krščanske ikonografije, tesno zvezane z osebno teologijo obeh obravnavanih pisateljev. Zato je tudi – pogojno rečeno – poetika Maksima Greka in Primoža Trubarja globoko osebna.

    Description: In the years 1899–1901, Karel Štrekelj (1859–1912) held a course on Slovenian literature at the University of Graz. These are the first university lectures on Slovenian literature in the Slovenian language, published in two volumes. However, Štrekelj's history is more than this: it is a monumental, classically balanced synthesis of all the former knowledge of Slovenian literature, given against rich historical, social, and linguistic backgrounds.It is the first series of university lectures in the Slovenian language on the topic of Slovenian literature. The volumes of manuscript contain a complete overview of Slovenian literature from Brižinski spomeniki (The Freising Manuscripts) to Gregorčič. Štrekelj’s lectures are a landmark in the development of Slovenian studies, both from the point of view of university teaching and from the perspective of the fundamental works of Slovenian literary history.
    Description: Karel Štrekelj (1859–1912) je v slovenski humanistiki znamenit zlasti kot narodopisec in jezikoslovec, manj pa je znan kot literarni zgodovinar. Na univerzi v Gradcu pa je imel Štrekelj v štirih semestrih ob prelomu stoletja (1899–1901) predavanja o slovenski literaturi Zgodovina slovenskega slovstva I–IV. To je monumentalno, toda doslej skoraj neopaženo delo slovenske literarne zgodovine. Ohranjeno je v štirih rokopisnih zvezkih, ki skupaj obsegajo čez 1.200 strani skrbno napisanega besedila. Gre za prva univerzitetna predavanja o slovenski literaturi v slovenskem jeziku. Zvezki rokopisa vsebujejo popoln pregled slovenske književnosti od Brižinskih spomenikov do Gregorčiča. Štrekljeva predavanja so mejnik v razvoju slovenistike tako glede univerzitetnega poučevanja kakor z gledišča temeljnih del slovenske literarne zgodovine. Pričujoča znanstvena izdaja (zvezka I–II, od srednjega veka do razsvetljenstva) prinaša to obširno, dotlej najboljšo literarno zgodovino iz rokopisa v javnost – v počastitev stoletnice smrti Karla Štreklja, slovenskega filološkega klasika.

    Description: Razvijanje medkulturne zmožnosti pri učiteljih in učencih Priročnik prinaša 15 delavnic, ki obravnavajo kulturno, etnično in jezikovno raznolikost slovenske in italijanske družbe. Osredotoča se na razvijanje medkulturnega dialoga med večinskimi, priseljenskimi in manjšinskimi skupnosti ter na razvijanje medkulturne zmožnosti vseh prebivalcev. Vsaka delavnica je sestavljena iz dveh delov. Prvi del je namenjen učiteljem, zato so v njem izpostavljeni cilji, teoretična izhodišča, napotki za reševanje in literatura za nadaljnje delo. Drugi del delavnice je delovni list na dveh straneh, namenjen kopiranju in neposredni uporabi v razredu. Delavnice so izvedljive pri različnih šolskih predmetih (npr. slovenščina, italijanščina, zgodovina, geografija, državljanska in domovinska vzgoja ter etika, knjižnična informacijska znanja, sociologija, psihologija, antropologija itd.). Priporočamo medpredmetno povezovanje. Ciljna skupina za reševanje delavnic so predvsem osnovnošolci v zadnjem triletju osnovne šole in srednješolci v Sloveniji oz. učenci nižjih in višjih srednjih šol v Italiji.

    Description: Zbornik vključuje besedila treh temeljnih avtorjev zgodovine znanosti in filozofije francoskega razsvetljenstva. Georges-Louis Leclerc de Buffon (1707–1788), največji prirodopisec osemnajstega stoletja, se v uvodni razpravi svojega monumentalnega Prirodopisa (1749–1788) zavzema za specifičnost znanosti o življenju, v poglavju “Osel« pa ponudi presenetljivo izdelan pojem evolucije. Newtonski fizik Pierre-Louis Moreau de Maupertuis (1698–1759) v Eseju o nastajanju organiziranih teles (1754) sistematično in na eksperimentalni osnovi opredeljuje načela dedovanja in se s tem umešča med napovedovalce Mendlove genetike. Enciklopedist Denis Diderot (1713–1784) v Mislih o interpretaciji narave (1754) v slogu Francisa Bacona analizira položaj znanosti v svojem času kakor tudi logiko znanstvenega raziskovanja samega. Vsi avtorji v središče svoje refleksije postavljajo znanost o življenju – biologijo. Pretresajo njene temelje in metodo ter se zavzemajo za njen razvoj. S tem korenito preoblikujejo znanstveno razumevanje živega ter metode preučevanja živih bitij in življenjskih procesov.

    Description: Bell ringing and bell chiming are presenting a valuable part of Slovenian cultural heritage, which is reflected in an extremely rich vocabulary that is part of our everyday reality and communication. The dictionary brings about 1035 expressions from the fields of amateur and professional engagement with bell ringing and bell chiming. It unveils the bells as a versatile musical instrument of cultural, ethnomusicological, artistic and also, in the case of older bells, of historical value. In addition to the modern terms, it contains some past terms, as well as many dialectal words, including the ones from vocabulary of Slovenians living in the neighboring countries. The monolingual design of the explanatory terminological dictionary is exceeded by the addition of English equivalents and the English-Slovene dictionary. This enables that also international scholars and bell experts gets acquainted with the special features of Slovenian bell ringing and bell chiming. The dictionary is intended for professionals from different fields of science, as well as for bell ringing experts, bell chimers, as well as everyone attracted by the sounds of our soundscapes. The authors of the dictionary would like to encourage new research of this kind, and especially would like that campanology gets appropriate position in the field of profession and science in Slovenia and abroad.
    Description: Zvonjenje in pritrkavanje sta dragoceni del slovenske kulturne dediščine, kar se kaže v izjemno bogatem izrazju, ki je odraz vpetosti pojmov v stvarnosti. Slovar prinaša 1035 izrazov s področij ljubiteljskega in strokovnega ukvarjanja z zvonjenjem in pritrkavanjem. Zvonove razkriva kot vsestransko glasbilo kulturne, etnomuzikološke, umetniške in v primerih, ko gre za zvonove starejše letnice, tudi zgodovinske vrednosti. Poleg sodobnega izrazja, med katerimi je veliko narečnih besed, delno prinaša pretekle izraze, sega pa tudi v slovenski zamejski prostor. Enojezičnost razlagalnega terminološkega slovarja je presežena z dodanimi angleškimi ustreznicami in z obrnjenim angleško-slovenskim slovarjem. S tem se ponuja možnost, da se s posebnostmi slovenskega zvonjenja in pritrkavanja seznanijo tudi poznavalci v mednarodnem prostoru. Slovar je namenjen strokovnjakom z vseh raznovrstnih področij, ki jih zvonjenje vsebuje, ljubiteljem zvonjenja in pritrkavanja, pritrkovalcem samim in drugim, ki jih privlačijo zvoki naših zvočnih krajin. Želeti je, da bi slovar spodbudil nove tovrstne raziskave in da bi zvonoslovje dobilo ustrezno mesto v okviru stroke in znanosti.

    Proizvodnja nagrobnih spomenikov v notranjosti rimske province Dalmacije (2022)

    Description: The present study deals with the question of the organization of the stonemasonry production of funerary monuments in the interior of the former Roman province of Dalmatia. The aim of the research was to identify a model of stonemasonry production that originated in a mountainous and difficult to traverse area, where the possibilities of water transport of stone material are minimal. The author started from the assumption that production centres formed in some geographical areas during Roman rule, using local limestone sources for their operation. The study includes funerary monuments discovered in present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the western part of Serbia and Montenegro. By combining the methods of macroscopic petrographic analysis of the stone material and typological and spatial analysis, the existence of several production centres was proven. The results of the analyses indicate a very likely that they exploited the local limestone resources. Epigraphic data also made it possible to define their chronological aspect.
    Description: Pričujoče delo se ukvarja z vprašanjem organizacije kamnoseške proizvodnje nagrobnih spomenikov na prostoru notranjega dela nekdanje rimske province Dalmacije. Cilj raziskave je bil prepoznati model kamnoseške proizvodnje, ki se je oblikoval na goratem in težko prehodnem območju, kjer so možnosti vodnega transporta kamnitega materiala minimalne. Avtorica izhajala iz predpostavke, da so se v času rimske oblasti na nekaterih geografskih območji oblikovala proizvodna središča, ki so za svoje delovanje uporabljala lokalne vira apnenca. Študija zajema nagrobne spomenike, odkrite na prostoru današnje Bosne in Hercegovine in zahodnega dela Srbije in Črne gore. S kombinacijo metod makroskopske petrografske analize kamnin in tipološke analize ter prostorske analize je pokazala na obstoj več proizvodnih središč. Rezultati analiz kažejo na zelo verjetno možnost, da so izkoriščali lokalne vire apnenca. Epigrafski podatki pa so omogočili njihov obstoj tudi časovno opredeliti.

    Description: Vodni viri mesta Ljubljane so v neposredni bližini pozidanih mestnih zemljišč ali celo pod njimi. Že desetletja jih varujejo vodovarstvena območja. Eden od najpomembnejših ciljev trajnostnega upravljanja je ohranjanje ustrezne oskrbe z naravno pitno vodo brez tehnoloških postopkov njene priprave, kar Ljubljančani uvrščajo visoko na lestvici vrednot življenja v glavnem mestu Slovenije. Upravljanje ogroženih vodnih virov v urbanih okoljih zahteva celosten pristop in stalne aktivnosti. S pomočjo računalniških orodij znamo sisteme simulirati in tako pridobiti dodatna védenja o njihovem delovanju. Ta so v pomoč pri dolgoročnih odločitvah ali na primer ob okoljskih nesrečah. Za ustrezno načrtovanje so potrebna strokovna orodja, ki omogočajo zanesljive, pregledne in kvantitativne ocene učinkov ukrepov. Razpolaganje z zanesljivimi ocenami stanja in napovedmi olajšuje delo odločevalcem in tudi komunikacijo med deležniki. Povezava v monografiji predstavljenih postopkov in rezultatov v sistem izvedljivega upravljanja z vodnimi viri v Ljubljani je dosežek, ki je lahko zgled številnim podobnim okoljem, ne le v Sloveniji, ampak tudi širše.

    Description: From the viewpoints of regional and agrarian geography and regional planning the author systematically analyze all main natural features and many regional social factors of the municipality of Moravče: bedrock, type of relief, altitude, inclination, water conditions (including flood conditions), climate conditions (particularly insolation), soil and vegetation, land use, population, settlements, and economy. On the basis of the analysis, a detailed partition of the municipality into small homogenous units is made, three in the valley and four in the hills. The book also deals with the evaluation of the landscape from the viewpoint of individual types of agricultural land use~determines the suitability of areas for cultivated fields, meadows, and orchards~and considers the quality of locations from the viewpoint of settlement. The book concludes with recommendations for the most suitable land use and a survey of the current irrational use of land.The synthetic maps and theme maps showing individual natural factors can be used to advantage in regional planning. Emphasis is placed on determining the interdependence of landscape factors and their joint influences, on the laws and causes governing individual phenomena, and on the comparison of microregions.
    Description: Delo je s področja regionalne in agrarne geografije ter regionalnega planiranja. Avtorji upoštevajo prostor celotne občine. Sistematično analizirajo vse glavne naravne in mnoge družbene pokrajinske dejavnike: kamninsko podlago, tipe reliefa, nadmorske višine, nagnjenost tal, vodne razmere, vključno s poplavnimi razmerami, podnebne razmere, posebej osončenost, prst in rastlinstvo, rabo tal, prebivalstvo, naselja in gospodarstvo. Na podlagi analize je izvedena podrobna členitev občine na majhne homogene enote, tri v podolju in štiri v hribovju. Knjiga se ukvarja tudi z vrednotenjem pokrajine z vidika posameznih vrst kmetijske rabe~ugotavlja primernost zemljišč za njive, travnike in sadovnjake ter kakovost tal z vidika poselitve. Dodana sta še predlog najustreznejše rabe tal in pregled neracionalno rabljenih zemljišč.

    Description: The book brings a thorough review of slope processes, their causes and consequences. Both, prehistoric and recent slope processes in Slovenia are described into deatil. Authors investigated the main characteristics of slope processes according to the type of movement (flow, slide, fall), their extent and effects. As geographers, they are interested mainly in the links between natural processes and man. More than sixty different slope processes in Slovenia are described into detail, based upon field work and examination of numerous sources. In this way all types of slope processes are included and described.Review of circumstances if followed by a discussion about the importance of slope processes for spatial planning as well as methodological and practical instructions for hazarad maps elaboration with different methods. Two deterministic methods and a one probabilistic are presented.The documentary value of the book is also increased by the fact that it brings a chapter about a memory of inhabitants on slope processes, as it has been preserved in sacred literature and aitiological narratives.The book can be used for thorough studies of physical geography and related sciences. Plentiful documentary material makes it useful for everyone who would like to explore nature in Slovenia.
    Description: V Sloveniji je bila do te knjige o pobočnih procesih objavljena le ena znanstvena monografija, pa še ta je obravnavala le zemeljske plazove. Več je bilo strokovnih in znanstvenih člankov, ki pa teme ne predstavljajo celovito. Knjiga je tako prva monografija, v kateri so celovito in podrobno opisani pobočni procesi in njihovi učinki na naravo in družbo. Ker se pobočni procesi pogosto zgodijo na istem kraju, je podrobno opisanih več kot petdeset pobočnih procesov, ki so se zgodili na ozemlju Republike Slovenije in v njeni soseščini. Predstavljeni sta izdelava zemljevidov z deterministično in probabilistično metodo. Pobočni procesi so opisani tudi v pripovedkah in svetih spisih. Knjiga je namenjena fizičnim geografom, predstavnikom sorodnih ved (geologija, gozdarstvo, gradbeništvo), pa tudi študentom pri predmetih, ki obravnavajo geomorfologijo, geomorfne procese, pobočne procese in naravne nesreče.

    Description: Within the framework of the basic research project The Župna cerkev Cemetery in Kranj, intended for the publication and research of materials from archaeological excavations of the eponymous burial ground, digital primary forms of archival sources are presented. The first issue presents documentation of the 1953 excavation. The second one brings the files of graves, excavated in 1953, kept in The National Museum of Slovenia. The documentation of the 1964 to 1966 excavation is presented in the third book. In the fourth book is on field documentation of 1969 to 1973 excavation. Milan Sagadin, the excavator of the 1984 campaign, presents the field diary in the fifth issue. The anthropological diaries of the 1964 to 1973 excavations by Tone Pogačnik and Tatjana Tomazzo Ravnik are presented in the sixth book.
    Description: V okviru temeljnega raziskovalnega projekta Grobišče Župna cerkev v Kranju, ki je namenjen objavi in raziskavam gradiva iz arheoloških izkopavanj istoimenskega grobišča, v digitalni obliki predstavljamo primarne arhivske vire.V prvem zvezku predstavljamo grobišče, terenske dnevnike, katalog grobov in dnevnik meritev z izkopavanj leta 1953.V drugem zvezku pa smo objavili drugi del arhivskega gradiva iz leta 1953. Predmet objave je neke vrste digitalni faksimile kartotečnih kartic, saj je vsaka kartica prikazana v formatu izvirnika. V obeh knjigah skupaj je torej predstavljena vsa doslej znana pisna in risarska dokumentacija teh izkopavanj.V pričujoči knjigi objavljamo arhivsko gradivo iz arheoloških izkopavanj na najdišču Župna cerkev v Kranju iz let 1964 in 1965 ter iz Mestne hiše leta 1966, ki ga hrani Gorenjski muzej v Kranju.

    Description: The 7th guidebook contains six excursions of the Ljubljana Geographical Society which took place between September 2012 and November 2014. An additional excursion of the Geomorphological Association of Slovenia from March 2012 was added. Every excursion is thematically unique, thus mutually complementing all of them to different collage and displaying the broad geographical horizon.The first excursion guides us to the plateau of Banjšice and to Čepovanski dol, the second introduces us with different landscape, historical and artistic elements of the valley of Selška Sora, the third takes us to the east of the country to Obsotelje and Kozjansko, the fourth deals with the valley of Dravinja River and the learning polygons, the fifth deals in details with Goričko~the least developed Slovenian region, the sixth takes us through the history of arms in the Park of the military history in Pivka, the last exursion gives us detailed introduction with the less known karstic features on flysch and the measurement of the erosion in flyschy Slovene Grey Istria.

    Description: The book includes water protection areas near the pumping stations of drinkable water on Ljubljansko polje, consequently in the City municipality of Ljubljana and in the water protection area of the water plant Brest in the neighbouring municipality of Ig. The area of Ljubljansko barje was also included in the study.Water wells have, besides the basic function of preserving water, also an aesthetic and symbolic meaning. Many fountains in public and private use are true works of art, but that wasn't the main interest of our study. We concentrated mostly on private water wells and bores, which are not registered and therefore not supervised.
    Description: Knjiga celovito obravnava zasebne vodnjake in vrtine na območju Ljubljane, zlasti z vidika varovanja okolja in še posebej podzemne vode. Podrobno so preučena vodovarstvena območja ob črpališčih pitne vode na Ljubljanskem polju, torej v Mestni občini Ljubljana, ter na vodovarstvenem območju vodarne Brest v sosednji občini Ig. Vodnjake smo raziskali tudi na vmesnem Ljubljanskem barju. Vodnjaki imajo lahko poleg temeljne funkcije oskrbovanja z vodo tudi estetski in simbolni pomen. Osredotočili smo se izključno na zasebne vodnjake in vrtine, ki niso registrirani in so zato nenadzorovani. S podrobnim terenskim delom smo jih evidentirali 1686, od tega smo jih 1294 natančno popisali. Čeprav gre za študijo v konkretni slovenski pokrajini, je knjiga namenjena tudi tistim, ki bi se radi seznanili z metodologijo inventarizacije tovrstnih objektov in jo poskušali prenesti v drugo pokrajino.

    Description: The Serbs of Bela Krajina are one of the numerous local ethnolinguistic communities in Slovenia which are undergoing – as a consequence of major changes in their way of life emanating from the processes of modernisation and industrialisation, as well as due to changes in broader power relations – a process of language shift. This study was written with the aim of pointing out the significance and implications of the process of language shift both in the particular social, historic, and geographical context, as well as with regard to broader social processes. It simultaneously highlights the fact that the process of language shift employs the whole range of linguistic means. The process of language shift among the Serbs of Bela Krajina was approached from the perspective of language ideology, with a focus on language as one of the essential components of individual and group identity. These processes reveal the complex dynamics of social and linguistic changes and their interconnectedness, and show how deep the link is between the state-national and the local, between broader social processes and the ways in which local communities and their particular members rationalise, negotiate and justify their positions, roles, and strategies.
    Description: Srbi v Beli krajini predstavljajo eno izmed številnih lokalnih etnolingvističnih skupnosti, ki so se znašle v procesu zamenjave jezika pod vplivom pomembnih sprememb v načinu življenja, nastalih kot posledica industrializacije in modernizacije ter sprememb v širših odnosih moči. Delo izpostavlja pomen in implikacije procesa zamenjave jezika tako v konkretnem družbenem, zgodovinskem in geografskem kontekstu kot v okviru širših družbenih procesov, obenem pa kaže, kako v procesu zamenjave jezika nastopa cela vrsta jezikovnih sredstev, s katerimi govorci zagovarjajo svoje poglede in stališča.

    Description: This translation of the book ('The Historical Roots of Magic Tale') written by one of the most prominent Russian folklorists of the 20th century Vladimir Yakovlevich Propp, presents one more classical work of anthropological and folkloristical science to Slovenian researchers. The theoretical starting-points which Propp concived in his book “Morphology of the Folktale” was in this work projected on concrete material – on Russian and European folktales. By comparing folktale motifs with actual historical and anthropological sources he substantiated his structuralistical and ritualistical theoties in folk narrative research and folkloristics.
    Description: S prevodom temeljnega dela enega najvidnejših raziskovalcev ljudskega pripovedništva minulega stoletja, Vladimirja Jakovljeviča Proppa, je slovenska znanstvena publicistika bogatejše še za eno klasično študijo antropološke in folkloristične vede. Knjiga Zgodovinske korenine čarobne pravljice predstavlja morfološko in ritualistično usmerjeno študijo ljudskih – predvsem ruskih – čarobnih pravljic. Teoretična izhodišča, ki jih je Propp zasnoval v Morfologiji pravljice, je tokrat uporabil ob konkretnih primerih ljudskih čarobnih pravljic, ki jih je vzporedil z zgodovinskimi in antropološkimi viri.

    Description: Stories, memories, relationships, traditional skills, dialects, and other tangible and intangible elements of cultural heritage provide opportunities and ways that can lead to compassionate, quality, authentic, and sustainable living in the present and in the future. The preservation and interpretation of unique cultural and natural artefacts from the past is not only in the hands of professionals from heritage institutions and research centres, but also in the hands of civil society of which children and youth are its integral part. Local people have become important participants in co-creating heritage, yet young people are still often not understood as equal bearers of culture or co-creators of heritage. How should we act to make youth’s bold ideas heard and realised in heritage projects and activities? The handbook ('Heritage in action: Ways and opportunities of integrating heritage practices into educational programs') presents approaches, methods, techniques, and examples of good practice that can address children and young people to actively participate in the exploration and interpretation of the past and (re)creation of cultural heritage in their local community. It is intended for the educators in kindergartens, schools, universities, youth centers, and local associations who want to encourage the younger generations to a deeper understanding of their ancestors’ lives.

Kako torej najti načine in poti, da bi bile njihove drzne ideje slišane in uresničene v dediščinskih projektih in akcijah?     Description: A good knowledge of the natural and cultural heritage of karst is a precondition for the rational planning of life on it. We try to organize the knowledge to make it as useful as possible for planners. We are involved in individual projects related to the regional planning, water supply systems, the construction of transportation infrastructure, the closure of landfills in karst areas, the collection of data on karst caves and their protection, karst ecology and determining the extent of human influence on the karst underground. A new book series Karstology and development challenges on karst was designed to present the results of completed and new projects to a broader public.The first book with the subtitle Water contains selected directly applicable research studies on karst waters, their characteristics, endangerment, and protection. It is composed of ten chapters, which can be grouped into three main themes. In the introduction the importance, characteristics and vulnerability of karst aquifers are presented,then various case studies of pollution and endangerment are described (traffic, landfills, military objects, flooding), and at the end some guidelines for the protection of karst water sources are summarized. The book is a bilingual publication in Slovene and English. It is aimed at a broad circle of users, researchers, students and planners.
    Description: Dobro poznavanje naravne in kulturne dediščine krasa je pogoj za smiselno načrtovanje življenja na njem. Pridobljeno temeljno znanje skušamo krasoslovci urediti tako, da je kar čimbolj uporabno tudi načrtovalcem. Vključeni smo v posamezne projekte regionalnega načrtovanja, oskrbe z vodo, gradnje prometnic, zapiranja odlagališč na krasu, zbiranja podatkov o kraških jamah in njihovega varovanja, kraške ekologije in ugotavljanja človekovega vpliva na kras. Za predstavitev svežih izsledkov širši javnosti smo oblikovali serijo Krasoslovje v razvojnih izzivih na krasu. V prvi knjigi s podnaslovom Voda smo združili izbrane neposredno uporabne študije o kraških vodah, njihovih značilnostih, ogroženosti in varovanju. Sestavljena je iz desetih poglavij, ki jih lahko razdelimo v tri sklope. V uvodu so predstavljeni pomen, značilnosti in ranljivost kraških vodonosnikov, sledijo različni primeri ogroženosti kraških vod (prometnice, odlagališča odpadkov, vojaški objekti, poplave), na koncu pa je zbranih še nekaj smernic za varovanje kraških vodnih virov.

    Description: The finds and preserved grave groups from its tumulus cemeteries, which are kept in several museums in different countries (Narodni muzej Slovenije, Ljubljana~Naturhistorisches Museum, Wien~Peabody Museum of Harvard University in Cambridge, USA), give a good insight into the cultural and social processes of the time. Together with notes on the circumstances of find and contents of graves, they represent a valuable source for the study of social structure and differentiation, as well as cultural identity.
    Description: Magdalenska gora pri Šmarju-Sapu na Dolenjskem predstavlja eno najpomembnejših arheoloških najdišč iz starejše železne dobe v jugovzhodnih Alpah. Najdbe in grobni sestavi iz tamkajšnjih gomilnih grobišč, ki jih hranijo muzeji v raznih državah (Narodni muzej Slovenije, Naturhistorisches Museum na Dunaju, Peabody Museum pri Harvardski univerzi v Cambridgeu v ZDA), ponujajo dober uvid v kulturne in družbene procese tistega časa.     Description: The monograph introduces the concept of work, which is inherent in human being as is play. This concept of work can be understood simultaneously as a powerful means of socialisation and as a disciplining instrument. The author problematizes the dichotomy between play and work as a construct that emerged in the specific historical and geographical context of early industrialization. She introduces the educational value attributed to work and presents how this understanding of work has historically changed through different political and socio-economic circumstances. Drawing on ethnographic studies and theorising from the fields of psychology, sociology, cultural anthropology, and social anthropology, the author analyses why and how preschool children participate in everyday work at home and in kindergarten. The author draws connections between children's participation in work and children's sociality and intersubjectivity as core human capacities as social beings. Preschool children are included as research participants along with adults, and by presenting their perspectives, this volume demonstrates the complexity of social life from an early age.
    Description: Monografija predstavi koncept dela, ki je tako kot igra lasten človeškemu bitju ter ima hkrati močan socializacijski naboj in lahko predstavlja sredstvo discipliniranja. Ob tem, da problematizira dihotomijo med igro in delom kot konstruktom, ki je plod določenega zgodovinskega in geografskega konteksta, ki izhaja iz zgodnje industrializacije, uvede tudi koncept dela kot vzgojnega ter predstavi, kako se je spreminjal skozi čas glede na različne politične, družbene in ekonomske okoliščine. Na podlagi etnografske raziskave in sodobnih znanstvenih dognanj s področja psihologije, sociologije in kulturne ter socialne antropologije avtorica podaja analizo, zakaj in kako se v vsakdanjem življenju predšolski otroci vključujejo v delovna opravila v okviru družine ter vrtčevske skupine. Vključevanje v delo avtorica naveže na otrokovo sposobnost družbenosti in intersubjektivnosti – ključni komponenti človeka kot družbenega bitja. Monografija ob bok odraslim sogovornikom postavi predšolske otroke. Tako predstavi kompleksnost družbenega življenja v najzgodnejši dobi in podaja nov pogled na to, kako se oblikuje kulturno pogojeno razumevanje dela in igre ter kako se vzpostavlja odnos med njima.

    Description: The celebration of the 50th anniversary of regional policy in Slovenia and the 30th anniversary of the country's independence is an opportunity to assess the efforts made so far in promoting regional development as well as to look to the future. In the book, we look at the path taken, describe the system of promoting regional development in the past, and point to the success of regional policy in eliminating interregional disparities. We present the role of regional development agencies and regional spatial planning in regional development and the quality of life in border problem areas from the perspective of the people living there. In the final part, we focus on future development. We point out the role of digitalisation and demographic change and try to shed light on future developments also from a philosophical perspective. Demographic, climate, economic and social changes require new approaches, fresh ideas and, above all, a systematic identification of development guidelines, ideas, development opportunities and factors that, taken together, can lead to a more balanced development of the country in all areas. Harmonious development is everyone's responsibility, but we can only achieve it together.
    Description: Praznovanje 50. obletnice regionalne politike v Sloveniji in 30. obletnice neodvisnosti države je priložnost za oceno dosedanjih naporov pri spodbujanju regionalnega razvoja kot tudi za pogled v prihodnost. V knjigi se oziramo na prehojeno pot, opisujemo sistem spodbujanja regionalnega razvoja v preteklosti in kažemo na uspešnost regionalne politike pri odpravljanju medregionalnih razlik. Predstavljamo vlogo regionalnih razvojnih agencij in regionalnega prostorskega načrtovanja v regionalnem razvoju ter kakovost življenja v obmejnih problemskih območjih, kot jo dojemajo tam živeči prebivalci. V sklepnem delu se posvečamo prihodnjemu razvoju. Opozarjamo na vlogo digitalizacije in demografske spremembe, prihodnji razvoj pa skušamo osvetliti tudi s filozofske perspektive. Demografske, podnebne, gospodarske in družbene spremembe zahtevajo nove pristope, sveže ideje, predvsem pa sistematičnost v prepoznavanju razvojnih smernic, idej, razvojnih priložnosti in dejavnikov, ki bodo ob skupnem delovanju lahko vodili v bolj uravnotežen razvoj države na vseh področjih. Pri tem je skladen razvoj odgovornost vseh, dosežemo pa ga lahko le skupaj.

The anthropological diaries of the 1964 to 1973 excavations by Tone Pogačnik and Tatjana Tomazzo Ravnik are presented in the sixth book.
    Description: V okviru temeljnega raziskovalnega projekta Grobišče Župna cerkev v Kranju, ki je namenjen objavi in raziskavam gradiva iz arheoloških izkopavanj istoimenskega grobišča, v digitalni obliki predstavljamo primarne arhivske vire. Gre za tisto dokumentacijo, ki je nastala bodisi ob izkopavanjih in se je ohranila, bodisi pozneje na podlagi terenske dokumentacije in najdb, ki se niso ohranile. Grobišče Župna cerkev v Kranju ima preko 2500 arheološko raziskanih grobov iz časa od 7. st. do 18. st., zato se po velikosti in času trajanja neprekinjenega pokopavanja uvršča med največja srednjeveška grobišča v Evropi. Skoraj polovica teh grobov pripada zgodnjesrednjeveškemu obdobju. Gradivo obsega preko 1100 predmetov, za antropološko analizo je na voljo preko 700 okostij, ki jih hrani Gorenjski muzej v Kranju.V prvem zvezku predstavljamo grobišče, terenske dnevnike, katalog grobov in dnevnik meritev z izkopavanj leta 1953.

    Description: The monograph ('General Monolingual Dictionaries of the Slavic Languages') provides an overview of the more prominent dictionary typologies, and an overview of general monolingual Slavic language dictionaries created from 1945 untill the present. The analysis presents how dictionary elements of selected dictionaries are treated at the macrostructural and microstructural level. For selected elements (homonymy and homography, multi-word headwords, sub-entries, grammatical information, referential definition type, multi-word lexical units and etymological information), suggestions for further lexicographical practice are given. The standpoint of these suggestions is that a dictionary serves as a representation of a lexicon and as a practical tool, which should effectively and transparently deliver reliable and relevant linguistic data and to a lesser extent non-linguistic data. The suggestions also take into account the completed transition from the initial print dictionary to the initial electronic dictionary, which to a certain extent requires reallocation of the data and to a lesser extent reorganization of data hierarchy.
    Description: Monografija prinaša pregled vidnejših slovarskih tipologij, pregled splošnih enojezičnih slovanskih slovarjev, nastalih od 1945 do danes. Analiza prikazuje obravnavo slovarskih prvin na makrostrukturni in mikrostrukturni ravni. Za izbrane elemente (homonimija in homografija, večbesedne iztočnice, podgesla, slovnični podatki, sklicevalni tip razlage, večbesedne leksikalne enote in etimološki podatki) so podani predlogi za nadaljnjo slovaropisno prakso. Izhodišče teh predlogov je slovar kot jezikovni opis besedja in kot praktični pripomoček, ki naj kar se da učinkovito in pregledno prinaša zanesljive in relevantne jezikovne in, v manjši meri, tudi nejezikovne podatke, pri predlogih pa je upoštevan tudi zaključen prehod od izhodiščno knjižne podobe slovarja k izhodiščno digitalni podobi slovarja, kar do določene mere zahteva prerazporeditev slovarskih podatkov, v manjši meri pa tudi preureditev njihove hierarhije.

    Description: A handbook for managing psychosocial risks and absenteeism with e-OPSA tool' is an integral part of the new, freely available tool aimed at management of psychosocial risks and health-related absenteeism (e-OPSA~www.opsa.si). The general version e-OPSA is intended for employees in various sectors (education, training, manufacturing, ICT, trade, catering, transport, construction, agriculture, etc.). Besides introducing the problem of psychosocial burdens experienced by employees at their workplace and beyond, this handbook can be used as a useful instrument for designing a various promotional and preventive arrangements which bettering employees’ health and well-being in their working settings, as suggested by recent guidelines for psychosocial risks management. A handbook is based on interactive chapters, including also numerous links to supportive health promotion websites in order to facilitate the preparation of adequate measures and related activities, commonly carried out by professionals in the field of health and safety at work. A special chapter is dedicated to instructions for working with an online tool e-OPSA tool, enabling an assessment of employees’ psychosocial burdens and risks of developing an excessive stress, absenteeism, presenteeism, turnover and experiencing of workplace violence.
    Description: Splošna različica e-OPSA je namenjena zaposlenim v različnih sektorjih (vzgoja, izobraževanje, predelovalne dejavnosti, IKT, trgovina, gostinstvo, promet, gradbeništvo, kmetijstvo, idr.). Priročnik je poleg tega, da seznanja uporabnike s problematiko psihosocialnih obremenitev, ki jih doživljajo zaposleni tako v svojem delovnem okolju kot izven njega, tudi uporaben pripomoček pri oblikovanju različnih preventivno promocijskih ukrepov, usmerjenih v izboljševanje zdravja zaposlenih in njihovega počutja v delovnem okolju.     Description: This volume analyzes two natural landscape typologies of Slovenia using quantitative methods and data layers. Based on two existing manually outlined typologies, several modeled natural landscape typologies were then produced using selected data layers and different geo-information tools. The main part of the analysis is focused on studying the compatibility of the modeled and original natural landscape typologies and on how successfully the original typologies can be reproduced using numerical models. By comparing the models and originals, it was also possible to establish the locations of the types that have been classified (confirmed) the same by different methods and those that have not been confirmed by any model. In conclusion, the volume presents findings on the use of GIS for identifying natural landscape types in Slovenia and proposes specific procedures for classifying Slovenia or other areas into natural landscape types and procedures for their evaluation. This volume also presents examples of various regionalizations and typologies, and lists available digital data layers and geo-information tools that can be used to make various typologies.
    Description: V monografiji je predstavljena analiza dveh obstoječih naravnopokrajinskih tipizacij Slovenije z različnimi kvantitativnimi metodami in podatkovnimi sloji. V praktičnem delu raziskave smo s štirimi podatkovnimi sloji in različnimi geoinformacijskimi orodji na podlagi dveh obstoječih, ročno začrtanih tipizacij izdelali več modeliranih naravnopokrajinskih tipizacij. Osrednji del analize je namreč osredotočen na preučevanje usklajenosti modeliranih in izvirnih naravnopokrajinskih tipizacij oziroma na vprašanje, kako uspešno lahko izdelavo izvirnih tipizacij ponovimo s številskimi modeli. S primerjavo modelov in izvirnikov smo ugotovili, kje v Sloveniji so območja posameznih tipov, ki so po različnih metodah klasificirana (potrjena) enako, in kje so območja tipov, ki jih ni potrdil noben model. Na koncu so navedene tudi ugotovitve o uporabi GIS-ov za določanje naravnih pokrajinskih tipov Slovenije ter predlagani postopki tipizacije Slovenije ali drugih območij na naravne pokrajinske tipe in postopki za njihovo vrednotenje. V knjigi smo navedli tudi primere regionalizacij in tipizacij ter dostopne podatkovne sloje in orodja, s katerimi lahko izdelamo tipizacije.

    Description: The routes between the north Adriatic and the Apennine peninsula on the west and the Balkans and the central Danubian plains on the east ran across Razdrto ever since ancient times. In the late prehistory and in the early Roman era the pass of Razdrto was known under the name of Ocra as was the mountain above it.Several Bronze age sites were discovered in the area of the Razdrto pass.The posts in the Razdrto area from the end of the 2nd and first half of the 1st century BC (Mandrga, Preval) differ from the other sites along the east Alpine routes, as they were not spatially linked to any of the existing indigenous settlements and did not show any contact with the surroundings even with their small objects. Most of the remains can be explained as traces of Roman passengers who stopped at Razdrto for a shorter period of time and not as remnants of a significant Roman settlement.A gravel covered road was constructed across the Razdrto pass in the second half of the 1st century BC or in the Augustan period. A roadside building was erected in the middle or late Augustan period and demolished in the mid 1st century AD.The shift of transit from Razdrto to Hrušica (Ad Pirum) took place in the 1st century AD. Post 1st century AD written sources no longer mention the road across Ocra, and the archaeological remains dating after the mid 1st century AD are extremely modest at Razdrto.
    Description: Delo prinaša temeljno objavo in analizo arheoloških najdišč, ki so bila na območju Razdrtega odkrita in raziskana ob gradnji avtoceste leta 1989. Zaključek pa predstavlja rimske poti čez jugovzhodne Alpe in širši pomen arheoloških najdišč na Razdrtem.

    Description: The Habsburg Monarchy carried out its first modern official population census in 1857. Since 1869, censuses were conducted every ten years with the critical date of 31 December. The censuses took into account the present population. From 1880 onwards, they also included a section on everyday language/language of communication, on the basis of which it was thenceforth possible to determine the national structure of the population in the country, even though the question thusly formulated did not yield accurate results. It was especially before the census of 1910 that the Slovenes and other Slavic nations in the monarchy demanded the elimination of the section on everyday language (lingua d'uso, Umgangssprache) and the introduction of a new section on nationality or mother tongue. The last Austrian population census of 1910 is a characteristic and important event from the political history of the Slovenes in the Austrian Littoral: characteristic because of the conduct of city authorities carrying out the census, and important because it represented a political victory of the Slavic population, after the established inaccuracies forced the authorities to order a revision of the census. Both the Yugoslav and Italian sides used the census of 1910 as evidence in setting their territorial claims during the peace negotiations after the First and Second World Wars.
    Description: Habsburška monarhija je prvo moderno uradno štetje prebivalstva izvedla leta 1857. Od leta 1869 dalje so popise izvajali vsakih deset let s kritičnim datumom 31. december. Štetja so popisovala prisotno prebivalstvo. Od leta 1880 so popisi vsebovali tudi rubriko o občevalnem/pogovornem jeziku. Tako je bilo mogoče poslej ugotavljati narodnostno sestavo prebivalstva v državi, čeprav tako formulirano vprašanje ni dajalo natančnih rezultatov. Slovenci in drugi slovanski narodi v monarhiji so zlasti pred štetjem leta 1910 zahtevali ukinitev rubrike občevalni jezik (lingua d'uso, Umgangssprache) in uvedbo nove rubrike o narodnosti ali o maternem jeziku. Zadnje avstrijsko ljudsko štetje iz leta 1910 je značilen in pomemben dogodek iz politične zgodovine Slovencev v Avstrijskem Primorju. Značilen je zaradi ravnanja mestnih oblasti, ki so štetje izvajale. Pomemben je zato, ker prestavlja politično zmago slovanskega prebivalstva, saj je oblast zaradi ugotovljenih nepravilnosti odredila revizijo štetja. Štetje leta 1910 je služilo tako jugoslovanski kot italijanski strani za dokazno gradivo ob postavljanju ozemeljskih zahtev pri mirovnih pogajanjih po prvi in po drugi svetovni vojni.

    Description: The goal of the monograph ('Web texts and language on the Web (the case of blogs and Wikipedia in the Slovenian language)') entitled Web texts and language on the Web (the case of blogs and Wikipedia in the Slovenian language) is to give an overview, as complete as possible, of the topic of web texts, although its main part is limited to blog and Wikipedia texts, where, as it turns out, there is a need for placing the topic into a broader context of electronic texts. The first chapter treats the circumstances of the formation of the Web and its definition in relation to the Internet and other electronic media. In the second chapter, corpus and dictionary are presented in relation to the Web, especially in terms of web corpora, the current role of web search engines is discussed, as well as the use of the Web in lexicography. The third and the largest part of the monograph includes a detailed analysis of Slovenian language and texts, especially of the selected material obtained from blogs and Wikipedia.
    Description: Cilj znanstvene monografije je čim celovitejši pregled nad tematiko spletnih besedil, čeprav je osrednja obravnava namenjena besedilom blogov in Wikipedije, pri čemer je, kot se izkaže, nujna umestitev v širši okvir elektronskih besedil. V prvem poglavju so predstavljene okoliščine nastanka spleta ter njegova opredelitev v razmerju do interneta in drugih elektronskih medijev. V drugem poglavju sta predstavljena korpus in slovar v povezavi s spletom, predvsem glede na to, kaj so spletni korpusi, kakšno vlogo prevzemajo danes spletni iskalniki, ter glede na rabo spleta v slovaropisju. Tretji, najobsežnejši del pričujoče monografije obsega podrobnejšo analizo jezika in besedil, predvsem izbranega gradiva z blogov in Wikipedije.

    Description: Transport accessibility to jobs, education, supply, and public services, which are usually most concentrated in large regional centers, has an impact on lower economic costs (savings in time and energy consumption), greater social justice (better and more equal access to jobs and education), and lower pressures on the environment (reduction of harmful emissions and noise, and increased road safety). Transport accessibility as a spatial component affects the widest range of development opportunities in an area, and it should therefore represent a significant component of regional and spatial planning. This book presents the main features of transport accessibility to regional centers as the central pillars of regional and spatial structure in Slovenia. Attention is focused on addressing the situation in accessibility planning itself, followed by modeling geographic reality using spatial analyses in a geographic information system. Emphasis is placed on the state of spatial equilibrium of regional centers. This study also examines the spatial differences in their accessibility, the main reasons for these differences, and the correspondence between regional borders in various regionalization proposals for Slovenia and their centers’ borders of accessibility.
    Description: Knjiga obravnava poglavitne značilnosti prometne dostopnosti do regionalnih središč kot osrednjih nosilcev regionalno-prostorske strukture v Sloveniji. Prometna dostopnost kot prostorska komponenta vpliva na najširši spekter razvojnih možnosti nekega območja, zato bi morala predstavljati pomembno sestavino pri urejanju regij oziroma prostora. Pozornost je najprej usmerjena v preučitev stanja na področju načrtovanja dostopnosti, nato pa so s pomočjo prostorskih analiz v geografskem informacijskem sistemu modelirane razmere v geografski stvarnosti. Te prikazujejo stanje prostorske uravnoteženosti in dostopnosti regionalnih središč ter ujemanje meja regij v različnih predlogih regionalizacije Slovenije z mejami dostopnosti njihovih središč.

    Description: The Alps are one of the most sensitive regions in Europe, and their future development represents a challenge that demands the cooperation of various experts, the business world, politics, and society, as well as the people living there. The Interreg IIIB project DIAMONT, which took place from 2005 to 2008, also addressed Alpine developmental challenges. This monograph presents the basic results of the project, supported by the broader theoretical framework of regional and sustainable development. We first present the cultural differences in the Alps and their influence on sustainable regional development. This is followed by the results of a Delphi analysis, which helped reveal the basic development tendencies in the Alps, and then we discuss appropriate indicators for regional development and harmonizing data. Attention is then dedicated to regional development instruments and the participative process, which is essential for attaining truly sustainable development. Finally, we present a Slovenian perspective on these issues.
    Description: Alpe so eno najbolj občutljivih območij v Evropi. Njihov razvoj predstavlja izziv, ki zahteva sodelovanje stroke, predstavnikov gospodarskega, političnega in družbenega življenja ter prebivalcev. Z razvojnimi izzivi Alp se je spopadel tudi Interregov IIIB projekt DIAMONT, ki je potekal med letoma 2005 in 2008. V monografiji so predstavljeni njegovi bistveni rezultati. Najprej so prikazane kulturne razlike v Alpah in njihov vpliv na trajnostni regionalni razvoj, sledijo rezultati delfi analize, ki je pomagala izluščiti bistvene razvojne smernice v Alpah, nato pa je izpostavljena problematika primernih kazalnikov regionalnega razvoja ter harmonizacije podatkov. V nadaljevanju je pozornost namenjena instrumentom regionalnega razvoja in participativnemu procesu, ki je ključen za zagotavljanje resnično trajnostnega razvoja. Na koncu je predstavljen še slovenski pogled na predhodno obravnavane tematike.

    Description: The closing of the “Golden Gate” to the promised land, the United States of America, after the First World War triggered a new wave of migration to the developed countries of Europe, primarily France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. This was the time of the first Yugoslavia, officially known as the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. Part of these migrations included Slovene emigrants and their children. The interwar period was marked by a major economic crisis and intensified ideological and political pressures. The Catholic Church was a strong presence with regard to the emigrants. The book ('Slovene emigrants and Western Europe during the time of the first Yugoslavia') describes and analyses the emigrants’ everyday lives, the work of emigrant societies, the publication of emigrant newsletters, the work of emigrant teachers and priests, the work of consular offices, the organisation of contacts with the homeland, the organisation of children’s holiday camps, and the children’s pen-pal contacts all over the world. It discusses emigrant activities, the zeitgeist, creativity and contacts with the new environments. We also find numerous simple literary highlights in the emigrant contacts. Singing, acting and music were always and everywhere present among the emigrants, both during joyful celebrations and solemn occasions. The book gives us a deep insight into the world of the emigrants during the period between the two world wars.
    Description: Ko so se po prvi svetovni vojni zaprla »zlata vrata« v obljubljeno deželo, Združene države Amerike, se je sprožil nov izseljenski tok v razvite evropske države, predvsem v Francijo, Belgijo, Nizozemsko in Nemčijo. To je bil čas prve Jugoslavije. Del selitvenega dogajanja so predstavljali slovenski izseljenci, izseljenke in njihovi otroci. Čas med obema vojnama je bil zaznamovan z veliko gospodarsko krizo in s povečanimi ideološkimi in političnimi pritiski. Močno prisotna v odnosu do izseljencev je bila Katoliška cerkev. Knjiga temelji na prikazu in analizi izseljenskega vsakdana, delovanja izseljenskih društev, izdajanja izseljenskih glasil, delovanja učiteljev in duhovnikov v izseljenstvu, dela konzularnih predstavništev, organiziranosti stikov z domovino, organiziranja otroških počitniških kolonij, vzdrževanja pisemskih stikov otrok po svetu. Zajema izseljensko dejavnost, duh časa, ustvarjalnost in preproste literarne utrinke ter stike z novimi okolji. Petje, igre in glasba so bili med izseljenci prisotni vedno in povsod, tako ob veselih praznovanjih kot žalostnih dogodkih. Knjiga prinaša poglobljen pogled na izseljenski svet v obdobju med obema svetovnima vojnama.

    Description: This volume (‘The role of part-time farms in the transformation of the urban fringe’) discusses the role of part-time farms in the economic, environmental and spatial transformation of the urban fringe. On the basis of the sample of Slovene suburban farms, the impact level of the proximity of workplaces on the mobility of the agricultural workforce was determined. It was also determined if socio-economic characteristics of suburban agricultural economies reflect in the characteristics of farm management and in the environment. This consequently stresses the role of part-time farms in the strengthening of multi-layered agriculture.
    Description: Knjiga obravnava vlogo polkmetij v gospodarski, okoljski in prostorski preobrazbi obmestij. Geografski, sociološki in ekonomski vidiki polkmetij so bili že raziskani in so povzeti v prvem delu knjige. Sledi predstavitev raziskave slovenskih obmestnih kmetij, s katero avtorica ugotavlja, kakšen je vpliv bližine trga delovnih mest na mobilnost kmečke delovne sile, ali se socialno-ekonomske značilnosti obmestnih kmetijskih gospodarstev odražajo v značilnostih gospodarjenja in posledično v prostoru ter kakšna je vloga polkmetij pri krepitvi večnamenske vloge kmetijstva.Rezultati so pokazali, da je kmetijstvo na večini kmetij le stranska dejavnost, stopnja urbanizacije območja, kjer je določena kmetija, pa pri tem, nekoliko presenetljivo, nima statistično pomembne vloge. S podrobno analizo vzorčnih obmestnih kmetij je bilo ugotovljeno, da so polkmetije glede na površino obdelovalnih zemljišč manjše od čistih, struktura njihovega gospodarjenja je prostorsko bolj razdrobljena in prispeva k večji pokrajinski pestrosti.     Description: The theoretical part of the monograph (' Gender and migration: experiences of women as actors of migration') is based on researching the meaning of gender for understanding migration processes and their classifications. By analysing established approaches in migration and related studies the author shows that the definition of the term migrant is related to processed of inclusion as well as exclusion. Through life-stories of female migrants the author tries to explain the wider social context of migration, which, despite the rise of qualitative migration studies in the last two decades, is still lacking in established approaches to migration. The main focus of research is on experiences and perspectives of female migrants. By combining theoretical and epistemological approaches in migration studies as well as in women and gender studies, the monograph contributes to enriching knowledge in both fields.
    Description: Izhodišče teoretičnega dela monografije je raziskovanje pomena spola za razumevanje migracijskih procesov in njihovih različnih klasifikacij. Z analizo uveljavljenih pristopov migracijskih in sorodnih študij avtorica pokaže, da je že sama definicija pojma migrant proces, ki vključuje procese vključevanja kot tudi izključevanja. S pomočjo analize življenjskih zgodb migrantk avtorica skuša v monografiji pojasniti širše družbene okoliščine migracije, kar je še vedno, navkljub porastu števila kvalitativnih študij na področju migracijske teorije v zadnjih dveh desetletjih, manko bolj uveljavljenih pristopov. Prednost raziskave je v tem, da je temeljni poudarek na izkušnjah in perspektivah migrantk samih. Z združitvijo teoretičnih in epistemoloških izhodišč tako na področju migracijskih študij kot ženskih študij oziroma študij spolov pa besedilo prispeva k obogatitvi vednosti na obeh področjih.

    Okoljsko poročilo z dodatkom za širitev igrišča za golf v Lipici (2022)

    Description: The plan of spatial arrangement, which was given to us by the real estate developer to asses (environmental report and the estimation of the susceptibility of impacts on protected areas), deals with 80 hectars of the north-western part of Lipica Stud Farm, which covers the area of the existing golf course as well as the area of its foreseen expansion. We tried to establish, describe and evaluate all the important aspects of plan realization, taking into consideration all of the environmental goals and area characteristics based on the different segments of the environment. A major impact would be seen only in the potentially special protected area of Kras, more precisely on the group of beetles, among which we stress “Morimus funereus” as the qualification bird species of Natura 2000. We suggested the exclusion of 17 hectars of the area from further operations and the establishment of the new distribution of some individual golf-fields. The improved suggestion incorporates the exclusion of a stripe of the western part of the area in question, where there is a habitat of Morimus funereus. This change would also mean the preservation of fossile sites and of maple forests.
    Description: Načrt prostorskih ureditev obravnava 80 hektarjev severozahodnega dela Kobilarne Lipica, kjer sta obstoječe igrišče za golf in območje njegove predvidene razširitve. Ugotavljali, ovrednotili in opisali smo pomembne vplive izvedbe načrta, pri čemer smo po različnih segmentih okolja upoštevali okoljske cilje in značilnosti območja. Ob razširitvi igrišča bi bil opaznejši vpliv le na potencialno posebno ohranitveno območje Kras, in sicer na skupino hroščev, med katerimi je kot kvalifikacijska vrsta Nature 2000 izpostavljen bukov kozliček (Morimus funereus). Zato smo iz nadaljnjih posegov predlagali izločitev območja, velikega 17 ha. Popravljen predlog upošteva izločitev območja na zahodu obravnavanega območja, kjer je habitat bukovega kozlička, s to spremembo pa bi zavarovali tudi nahajališča fosilov in lepo ohranjene javorove gozdove.

    Description: Monitoring the transformation of the Slovene countryside revealed that there are relatively heavily urbanized flatland and valley areas, and on the other, peripheral areas where depopulation and the disintegration of the cultural landscape are increasingly pronounced.For the evaluation of the countryside and its typological division, objective criteria are selected that reflect the natural conditions, the principal characteristics of agriculture, and the fundamental demographic, economic, functional, housing, infrastructural, and environmental conditions. Overall, the evaluation is based on the level of individual settlements which enables thorough spatial differentiation. A complex evaluation is carried out by establishing the value and representation of individual groups of parameters and their corresponding weights. On the basis of partial syntheses, two synthetic maps of developmental movements in the countryside are presented that provide a solid foundation in the effort to ensure harmonious regional development.
    Description: V knjigi so predstavljeni rezultati poskusa celovitega vrednotenja stopnje razvitosti zunaj mestnih območij v Sloveniji. Obravnava tudi temeljna vprašanja regionalnega razvoja Slovenije in s tem problematiko preobrazbe slovenskega podeželja kot enega odločilnih dejavnikov vključevanja v evropske integracijske tokove. Za vrednotenje so izbrani objektivni kriteriji, ki odražajo naravne razmere, glavne značilnosti kmetijstva ter temeljne demografske, gospodarske, funkcijske, infrastrukturne in okoljske razmere. Izbor kazalnikov je postavljen na raven posameznih naselij, kar omogoča temeljito prostorsko diferenciacijo. Kompleksno vrednotenje je izvedeno z ugotavljanjem vrednosti in zastopanosti posameznih skupin parametrov ter z njihovim ustreznim ponderiranjem. Na podlagi delnih sintez sta variantno predstavljena dva sintetična zemljevida stopnje razvitosti podeželja, ki sta soliden temelj v prizadevanjih za zagotavljanje skladnega regionalnega razvoja.

    Description: Terraced landscapes with agricultural terraces are cultural landscapes with a special value. This volume presents them in pictures and words in all their diversity and attractiveness. After discussing the global and European dimensions of terraced landscapes and their agricultural terraces, the volume focuses on Slovenian terraced landscapes~they are discussed separately by landscape types, individual regions, and sample cases in the territory of selected settlements (pilot areas). The conclusion also draws attention to the exceptional value and appeal of non-agricultural terraced landscapes that have been shaped by nature and man.
    Description: Terasirane pokrajine, sestavljene iz kmetijskih teras, so kulturne pokrajine s posebno vrednostjo. Ponekod so v razvitih civilizacijah organizirano nastajale skozi tisočletja, drugje pa povsem spontano, ko se je človek prilagajal naravnim razmeram in izboljševal svoje možnosti za preživetje. Zato se v njih zrcali sožitje med človekom in naravo, marsikje pa tudi med ljudmi.Knjiga jih v sliki in besedi predstavlja v vsej njihovi pestrosti in privlačnosti. Najprej so izpostavljene svetovne in evropske razsežnosti terasiranih pokrajin in njihovih kmetijskih teras, največ prostora pa namenja slovenskim terasiranim pokrajinam, in sicer ločeno po pokrajinskih tipih, po posameznih pokrajinah in po vzorčnih primerih, ki obsegajo območja izbranih naselij. V sklepnem delu opozarja tudi na izjemnost in privlačnost nekmetijskih terasiranih pokrajin, ki sta jih oblikovala narava in človek.Besedila in fotografije dopolnjujejo grafikoni, v katerih so predstavljene temeljne značilnosti izključno terasiranih zemljišč, ugotovljene na podlagi analiz z orodji geografskih informacijskih sistemov.

    Description: With notary books we are not dealing with literary readings, but with abstracts of a mass of business manuscript agreements of various contents. The subject of this publication is the preserved parts of the third, ninth, and tenth notary fascicles from the Piran Branch Office of the Regional Archives of Koper. The fragments contain the models of documents created in the period 1284–1296. The authors of summaries in the preserved fragments of notary fascicles are Facina Grimaldi, Facina (Vitali?) and Francisscus de Malonbris.
    Description: Šesti zvezek piranskih notarskih knjig prinaša znanstveno-kritično objavo ohranjenih fragmentov treh notarskih knjig iz edinstvenega gradiva piranske izpostave Pokrajinskega arhiva Koper. Gre za dele tretje, devete in desete knjige. Prvi vsebuje 255, drugi 22 in tretji 422 skrčenih latinskih predlog notarskih listin iz razdobja 1284 do 1296. Vpisi v notarskih knjigah so pestrih vsebin in slikajo gospodarsko, družbeno in vsakdanje življenje v Piranu in okolici, nudijo podatke o prebivalstvu, njegovi etnični pripadnosti, o historični topografiji, pravni praksi itd. Kulturna dediščina notarskih knjig vpenja slovensko primorje v širši mediteranski prostor, ki ga je odlikovala praksa vodenja notarskih kodeksov. Objava vsebuje uvodno študijo, prepise izvirnikov, ki so opremljeni z datacijami, oznakami vsebin in opombami, ter imenski, pojmovni seznam in seznam vsebin vpisov. Ta pomagala olajšujejo uporabniku razumevanje in orientacijo v latinskem delu besedila. Uvodna študija, pojasnila k prepisom ter seznama pojmov in vsebin so – v želji spodbuditi širši krog uporabnikov k raziskavam preteklosti severozahodne Istre – prevedeni tudi v angleščino.
