Description: Acta Slavica Estonica is an international series of publications on current issues of Russian and other Slavic languages, literatures and cultures. The first part of the book contains chapters about the general history of school textbooks for reading and the story of the heritage of two authors (Vyazemsky and Fet) in them. The second part of the book presents chapters on various Russian poets (Batyushkov, Zhukovsky, Pushkin, Koltsov, Tyutchev, Maikov) whose poems found a firm place in the reading materials for schools. The chapters of the monograph give an idea of different aspects of the history of these texts and their reception. The monograph has two supplements. In the first there is a list of 108 textbooks and books of reading which are all included in the unique data base accessible in the Internet (www.ruthenia.ru/canon). The second supplement offers a list of the most popular authors and their texts included in the textbooks of the 19th century.

This issue of the subseries “Blokovskii sbornik” continues the series of studies started by Zara Mints in 1964. The majority of works from Section I of the book, “The Art of А. Blok in the Context of 19th–20th Century Literature,” is devoted to the study of the poet’s works, his perceptions of preceding writers’ works, and his biographical and artistic contacts with contemporaries. The articles in Section II, “Silver Age Literature: Creative and Social Strategies,” are mainly focused on artistic works and essays of modernist literati contemporary to Blok or to some extent resonating with his poetry and artistic worldview.

Description: The aim of the methodology is to give an understanding of elder abuse, typologies, manifestations, risks of occurrence and procedures for detection and solution. The methodology helps those who regularly come into contact with older people to put knowledge about elder abuse into practice. This can be anyone who is not, or should not be, indifferent to seeing an older person treated inappropriately. The methodology is primarily intended for people working in support services, with recommendations for other relevant actors such as general practitioners and specialists, the police, the social services of local authorities, etc. However, it can also be used by interested members of the public and by non-profit organisations, which also have an essential role to play in dealing with this phenomenon. The procedures and recommendations presented here are based on the research activities of the RESTABUS project, which draw on the findings of other research teams from all over the world and from a wide range of scientific disciplines, as well as on many years of experience in working with older people.

Description: Aquest estudi sobre la presó franquista de postguerra es basa en les duescentes quaranta cartes que Daniel Vilaró Rius va escriure a la seva família entre juliol del 1939 i agost del 1943 des de tres presons i, per tant, presenta el règim penitenciari viscut des de dins. En aquestes cartes trobem en primera persona l’impacte psicològic de la derrota, dels judicis sumaríssims i de l’empresonament, la por i la incertesa de cada dia, la penúria, la privació emocional de l’allunyament de la família, la frustració de no poder exercir cap rol familiar. Alhora, la voluntat de sobreviure física i moralment, que va ser una voluntat política, i els mecanismes i estratègies que van fer que molts ho aconseguissin, des de l’ajut de fora i la solidaritat a dins, fins a la capacitat de cadascú per mantenir alguna il·lusió i la fe en el futur.

Description: Geçmişte yaşanan iklim değişikliklerinin nedenlerinin ve etkilerinin anlaşılması, insanoğlunun gelecekte karşılaşacağı çevresel değişiklikleri önceden tahmin etmesi ve önlemler alması açısından önem arz etmektedir. İnsanın yeryüzündeki varlık süresince, yani Kuvaterner’de yaşanan iklim değişiklikleri, buzul ve buzularası çağlarının yaşanmasına yol açarak, yer küreyi ve üzerinde yaşayan canlıların hayatını şekillendirmiştir. Ülkemiz de Kuvaterner buzullaşmalarının etkisinde kalmış ve Anadolu’nun farklı bölgelerindeki yüksek alanlarda gelişen buzulların bazıları günümüze kadar ulaşmıştır. İklim değişikliği etkisiyle ortadan kalkan buzulların oluşturduğu yer şekilleri ise çoğu sahada korunmuştur. Anadolu’daki buzullaşmalar ve bunlara ait yer şekilleri araştırmacılar tarafından sıklıkla çalışılmış olmakla birlikte morfometrik analizler sınırlı sayıda araştırmada uygulanabilmiştir. Buzul morfometrisi konusunda yeni yöntem ve yaklaşımlar son buzul çağının etkilerini daha net anlaşılmamıza imkân tanımaktadır. Bu araştırma kitabı ile Batı Torosların doğu ucunda yer alan ve daha önce literatürde geçmeyen Kuvaterner buzullaşmalarının izlerinin yaygın bir şekilde gördüğümüz Kuşak Dağı’nın jeomorfolojik özelliklerini arazi çalışmaları ve İHA verileri kullanarak haritalamak, ayrıca morfometrik analizlerle Kuşak Dağı ve Batı Toroslar hakkında paleoiklimsel değerlendirmelerde bulunmak hedeflenmiştir. Yine bu kitapta buzul jeomorfolojisi konusunda yeni yöntem ve yaklaşımlar ayrıntılı açıklanmaya çalışılarak bu konularda çalışacak genç araştırmacılar için Türkçe kaynak kitabı olması amaçlanmıştır.

Description: Göl, akarsu ve denizler yüzyılları aşan süreden beri çoğunluğu insan kaynaklı olmak üzere çeşitli kirleticilerin baskısı altında bulunmaktadırlar. Özellikle endüstriyel üretimin hız kazandığı 1900’lü yılların ortalarından itibaren bu baskılar daha da artmış birçok su kaynağı kullanılamaz hale gelmiştir. Su kalitesindeki bozulmalar ve iklimsel değişim nedeniyle çok sayıda tür ortadan kalkmış, ya da tükenme noktasına gelmiştir. Ülkemizde de benzer çevresel sorunlar 1950’li yıllardan itibaren görülmeye başlanmıştır. Başta sanayi üretiminin büyük bir kısmının gerçekleştiği Marmara Bölgesindeki deniz ve içsu kaynakları olmak üzere birçok su kaynağı sanayi atıkları, evsel atıklar ve tarımsal kirleticiler ile baş başa bırakılmıştır. Söz konusu kirleticiler nedeniyle en büyük su kalitesi kaybına uğrayan alanların başında ise Marmara Denizi gelmektedir. Marmara Denizi havzası başta ülkemizin en büyük şehri olan İstanbul olmak üzere en büyük şehirlerini barındıran bir iç deniz konumundadır. Göreceli olarak küçük bir alan olmasına rağmen havzada ülke nüfusunun yaklaşık 1/3’ü yaşamaktadır. Havzadaki aşırı nüfus artışı ve kontrolsüz yapılaşma özellikle Marmara Denizi üzerinde büyük bir baskı oluşturmuştur. Uzun yıllar süresince arıtılmadan ya da sadece ön arıtıma tabi tutularak Marmara Denizine verilen atıklar denizin taşıma kapasitesini aşmış, bu nedenle denizde yaşayan birçok canlı türü tamamen ortadan kaybolmuştur. Hatta aşırı kirlenme nedeniyle Marmara Denizi’nin “Doğu Körfez” bölümü uzun yılardan beri balıkçılığa kapatılmıştır. Son zamanlarda Marmara Denizinde ortaya çıkan en önemli ekolojik sorunlardan bir tanesi de yaklaşık 6 ay süren müsilaj artışıdır. Müsilaj Ocak 2021 de başlayıp Haziran 2021’e kadar devam etmiştir. Müsilaj artışının 6 ay gibi uzun bir süre devam etmesi, büyük bir alanda habitat kayıpları yaratması, ekolojik tahribat kadar ekonomik kayıplara neden olması, balıkçılık dahil birçok ekosistem hizmetlerini etkilemesi nedeniyle dünya literatürüne girmiştir. İstanbul Üniversitesi olarak böylesine önemli ekolojik sorunu detaylı bir şekilde araştırmak, sonuçlarını ortaya koymanın gerekliliğine inanarak sadece Marmara Denizi’nde ortaya çıkan müsilaj sorunu ile ilgili çalışmaların yer aldığı 13 bölümden oluşan kitap yayınlamaya karar verdik. Deniz araştırmaları konusunda yaklaşık 80 yıllık deneyime sahip İstanbul Üniversitesinin yayınladığı bu eserin deniz bilimcilere ve karar vericilere başucu kaynağı olmasını diliyoruz.

Description: Title in English: Prediction of potential locations for water-retention dams in landscape based on re-utilisation of defunct relics of water-management buildings: Certified methodology This certified methodology shows the steps to be taken by contractors and builders of small water reservoirs with a special focus on preserving and archiving cultural value of historic landscape and its evolution. The methodology describes how to find and use defunct relics of historical waterdams in modern constructions (water retention dams), from identification in the landscape, through incorporation into the project documentation of the dam construction, to basic protection during the building process itself. State legislature on historic landscape is also mentioned. Re-utilisation of historic waterdams allows for their conservation for future generations and points at features of the historic dams at risk of destruction, and which need archaeological attention during the construction works (especially the historical drainage outlet). This methodology is praxis driven, as it is actively using knowledge gained through close co-operation with contractors and builders, and reflects their needs during construction.

Description: Title in English: Pronunciation in Learning German at Secondary Schools. This publication presents an empirical research of pronunciation mistakes of Czech students learning German as a second foreign language at elementary school. The aim of the research was to verify the extent of the students’ pronunciation difficulties with German pronunciation phenomena error-prone for Czech native speakers. The research determined in what way these errors manifest themselves in the transfer from the students’ previously acquired languages, i.e. their mother tongue (Czech) and the first foreign language learnt (English). Within the theoretical foundation, the focus is put on different concepts of pronunciation in terms of foreign language teaching objectives, definitions of language errors and their causes, the development of the German pronunciation standard and methodological approaches to error analysis.

Description: El orden del día de las agendas de los estudiosos de la alimentación está repleto de fenómenos que, formando parte de procesos históricos más amplios, deben ser tratados desde el conocimiento de las diferencias culturales, de las diversas formas de desigualdad social y de las implicaciones sociales, económicas y políticas que la comida tiene para la salud humana, el entorno y las sociedades. La producción, distribución y consumo de alimentos implica numerosos ámbitos y agentes en cualquier lugar y nos llevan desde las actividades agrícolas hasta el procesamiento de los alimentos, desde el restaurante o el comedor escolar al hogar, desde el individuo al grupo social; intervienen, a su vez, en el proceso de salud/enfermedad/atención. A pesar de la abundancia aparente, el sistema de producción alimentaria actual no asegura las necesidades básicas entre las personas, ni el reparto equitativo de los alimentos, ni la capacidad regenerativa de los recursos utilizados ni tampoco la preservación de la diversidad biocultural. Tampoco favorece la confianza en los alimentos producidos, ni el deseo tan humano como legítimo de querer preservar y mejorar la calidad de vida.

Description: Ausias March (1400-1459) lebte in einer Zeit der Umbrüche: Die letzten Gewissheiten des Mittelalters machten dem Geist der frühen Neuzeit Platz; das Bürgertum beginnt dem Adel ernsthaft Konkurrenz zu machen und die Ideale der hohen Minne der okzitanischen Trobadore geraten ins Schwanken Zugleich bricht König Alfons V. von Aragonien nach Italien auf, um dort König von Neapel zu werden und so die Königreiche der Aragonesischen Krone in Personalunion mit dem italienischen Süden zu verbinden. Der daraus resultierende rege kulturelle Austausch bringt die Ideen und Moden der italienischen Renaissance auch nach Valencia, der damals größten Stadt der iberischen Halbinsel. Es folgt das segle d'or de les lletres valencianes - das "goldene Jahrhundert der valencianischen Literatur", das als Vorläufer des darauffolgenden Siglo de oro der kastilischen Literatur gesehen werden kann. Description: Title in English: Graphomotor skills: New approaches to the diagnosis This book focuses on graphomotor skills, their disorders and brings new possibilities to their diagnosis. The introduction discusses various theories of writing and the development of graphomotor skills and writing. It also defines graphomotor disorders and developmental dysgraphia and offers an overview of diagnostic methods for assessing handwriting disabilities. In the final chapter, the authors present an original approach to diagnosing graphomotor disabilities based on an objective analysis of online handwriting. The resulting “Graphomotor and Handwriting Disabilities Rating Scale” (GHDRS) allows for a detailed assessment of the sources of a child’s difficulties. The book is intended primarily for workers in the school guidance system, especially special educators and psychologists, but also for others interested in graphomotor skills.

Description: Els treballs aplegats en aquest volum recullen les contribucions fetes als dos primers col·loquis lingüístics de la Universitat de Barcelona, celebrats respectivament el 20 de desembre de 1993 i el 19 de desembre de 1994. El primer d’aquests dos col·loquis, amb el títol de «Corpus, corpora», ofereix una panoràmica general sobre els corpus, tant els orals com els escrits, i en particular sobre el corpus de l’Institut d’Estudis Catalans i el de la Universitat de Barcelona. La taula rodona sobre recerques i aplicacions a partir de corpus lingüístics que va cloure el col·loqui es publica transcrita com a final d’aquesta primera part. La segona part del volum inclou les aportacions de diferents especialistes en relació amb temes específics dels corpus: la selecció de les dades, la transcripció, els aspectes computacionals i els informàtics. Description: Uzun yıllardır uygulanan liberal-kapitalist yönetişim modeli, bireyselleşmeyi ve piyasayı egemen kılıp, özel sektörü büyüterek, devleti ve hizmetlerini sınırlandırarak varlığını bugüne kadar sürdürdü. Ancak COVID-19 krizi ile birlikte bu ekonomik sistemin nasıl bir sonuç doğurduğuna hep birlikte şahit olduk. Dünyanın en büyük ekonomilerine sahip ülkelerin salgınla mücadelede ihtiyaç duyulan en temel koruma malzemelerini sağlamakta aciz duruma düşmesi, hastaları seçerek tedaviye almaları ve diğerlerini ölüme terk etmeleri, ölen insanlarını taşıyacak tabutları ve gömecek yerlerinin olmaması mevcut sistemlerin ne kadar insani olduğu sorununu somut bir şekilde ortaya çıkardı. Uluslararası rekabette en başarılı ülkeler, üstünlük sağlayan sektörlere ve üretime odaklanarak ekonomik gelişme stratejilerini bugüne kadar sürdürdüler. Ancak uzun tedarik zincirlerine ve küreselleşmeye dayalı bu yapı çökerken, katı sınırlar ve ulusal üretimlerle bu boşluğu doldurma arayışı ön plana çıktı. Ekonomiyle birlikte fonksiyonları zayıflayan, hizmet alan ve kapasitesi kısıtlanan devlet aygıtı ve yapısı, yaşanan salgınla birlikte büyük bir krizle karşı karşıya kaldı. COVID-19 salgınıyla birlikte ekonomik gelişmelere rağmen, sağlık hizmetlerinin ve tarımsal üretimin acil hallerde yarattığı etkilerinin insanlığı tehdit edecek boyutlara nasıl ulaştığını yaşayarak tecrübe ettik. Salgın ile birlikte tarımsal üretim başta olmak üzere temel ihtiyaçları karşılayacak üretimi yapabilmenin önemini bir kez daha anladık. Maske, solunum cihazı, ilaç ve aşı gibi halk sağlığı alanlarında üretim ve hizmetleri sunmanın ne kadar önemli olduğunun bilincine vardık. Üretimlerin stratejik öneminin dönemsel ve ihtiyaçlara göre değişebildiği gerçeğini bir kez daha yaşadık ve paramız olsa da bazı ürünleri ve hizmetleri satın alamayacağımızı gördük. Salgın, küresel düzeyde neredeyse hepimizi ruhsal, fiziksel ve sosyal açıdan eşitleyerek; sağlık, eğitim, gelir eşitsizliği, yoksulluk, işsizlik, göç, iklim krizi, temel insan ihtiyaçlarına erişim dahil her alanda yeni farkındalıklar oluşturdu. Salgın, bir yönüyle bencilliği besledi, dayanışmayı azalttı, yalnızlığa, biyolojik olduğu kadar psikolojik sorunlara ve bilgi kirliliğine yol açtı, ölüm korkusunu bireysel olmaktan çıkarıp, toplumsallaştırdı. Diğer yönüyle de dayanışma ihtiyacını artırdı ve ortak kader duygusunu güçlendirdi. Bu nedenle sosyal uyumu esas alan bir anlayışa olan ihtiyacımız daha fazla önem kazandı. Bundan dolayı toplumsal savrulmayı önleyecek ve panik yaşanmasına fırsat vermeyecek yapılanmaya ihtiyacımız arttı. 1980 sonrasında neoliberal rüzgârların etkisiyle yapılan özelleştirmelerle Türkiye’de de devlet nispeten küçültüldü, ekonomik ve sosyal sorunların yaşandığı bir dönemde küresel salgınla karşılaşıldı. Ancak genel sağlık sigortası, hastane sayısı, yatak kapasitesi gibi alanlarda sahip olduğumuz potansiyel ve kriz yönetme becerimiz sayesinde süreci nispeten daha iyi şartlarda geçirmekteyiz. Fakat bu gerçeğe rağmen ülkemizin de yeni şartlara adapte olmasını sağlayacak, krizi en az zararla atlatacak ve 21. yüzyılın ihtiyaçlarını karşılayacak yeniden yapılanmaya ihtiyacı artmaktadır. Ekonomik ve sosyal alanda yaşananlar yeni bir paradigma değişikliğine ihtiyaç olduğunu gösteriyor. Çünkü doyumsuzluğu ve obeziteyi besleyen sınırsız ihtiyaçlar algısı yerine, ihtiyaçların sınırlı olduğu ve isteklerin sınırlandırılabileceğini esas alan, bilgi hariç kaynakların sınırlı olduğu ilkesine dayalı yeni bir ekonomik düzeni inşa edecek bir paradigma değişikliğine yönelik beklenti artıyor. Kriz sürecini en az zararla atlatabilmek için hep birlikte dayanışma içinde mücadele ederek, küresel düzeyde yükselen işkollarını ve meslekleri esas alarak, endüstrileri ve iş piyasalarını yeniden yapılandırmak gerekiyor. Bu kitabın editörlüğünü üstelenen, yazar olarak katkıda bulunan ve hazırlanmasında görev alan fakültemizin çok kıymetli hocalarına bu vesileyle bir kez daha çok teşekkür ediyorum. 84 yıllık birikimimize uygun bir şekilde dünyada ve ülkemizde yaşanan ve yaşanacak sorunlara öğretim üyelerimiz kayıtsız kalmamış, var olan zor şartlara rağmen alternatifler üreterek, yol gösterici öngörülerde bulunmuşlardır. Es van obrir nombroses sales de cinema, els primers parcs d’atraccions i nous teatres, gràcies als quals el Paral·lel va esdevenir l’epicentre de la nit barcelonina. The monograph is intended mainly for pre-service and in-service geography teachers at lower and upper secondary schools, the leaders of school educational programmes, and teachers in non-formal education. Description: Title in English: Methodological publication of work with inclusive classroom with the focus on pupils with physical disability: Methodical Manual Publication is one of the outputs of the project Quality Inclusive Education of Pupils with Special Education Needs at elementary and secondary school. This text focuses on teaching pupils with physical disabilities in an inclusive classroom. The text is divided into three chapters, the first one defines theoretical background. Described is physical disability with an emphasis on cerebral palsy together with the specifics of the target group of pupils. Part of the chapter also defines special pedagogical diagnostics. The second chapter focuses on the education of pupil with cerebral palsy in inclusive school. In the third chapter are presented results of the research part of the project with special education needs – with physical disabilities with the focus on cerebral palsy.

Description: Jordi Brasó prologa aquesta edició facsímil del Diari de Vilamar (1922), que es publicà a la colònia escolar de Calafell i que simbolitza tot el moviment social de renovació pedagògica catalana d’inicis del segle XX. Juntament amb l’esforç de diversos mestres i pedagogs, hi hagué el de les institucions per fomentar una escola nova centrada en els interessos i les necessitats del jovent. En conseqüència es volgué millorar la qualitat, la vida i la formació de l’infant allunyant-se de la pedagogia memorística i no reflexiva. Això significava posar el punt de mira en l’alumne, i a partir d’aquest protagonisme elaborar tota la tasca educativa. Aquest diari, amb catorze números que van del 29 d’agost al 14 de setembre de 1922, detalla la vida a la colònia de la Primera República Escolar de Vilamar l’any de la seva creació. A càrrec dels alumnes, és un exemple de com era l’estada a Calafell, que funcionava com una ciutat ideal i amb un model d’autogestió democràtica organitzat de manera jeràrquica entre els habitants.

Description: Engellilik Tarihi Yazıları, 15-16 Kasım 2018 tarihinde İstanbul Üniversitesi Engelliler Uygulama Merkezi ve İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Sağlık Daire Başkanlığı Engelliler Müdürlüğü işbirliği ile düzenlenen Dünden Bugüne Engellilik-Engellilik Araştırmaları Konferansı’nda sunulan çalışmalardan derlendi. Engellilik meselesini disiplinler arası bir yaklaşımla inceleyen ‘Engellilik Araştırmaları’, kuramsal ve uygulamalı bir bilim alanıdır. Bu alan 1970’li yıllarda Amerika Birleşik Devletleri ve İngiltere’de başlayan engelli hakları hareketinin akademik çalışmalara yansımasıyla ortaya çıktı. Sonraki yıllarda engelliliği sosyal, kültürel, tarihsel, hukuki, politik ve etik yönleriyle ele alan disiplinler arası bir araştırma alanı olarak Amerika ve Avrupa’ya yayıldı, pek çok üniversitede lisansüstü, hatta lisans düzeyinde programlar başlatıldı. Türkiye’de 2017 yılında, engellilik araştırmalarının geliştirilmesi amacıyla, İstanbul Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Engellilik Araştırmaları Anabilim Dalı kurularak, yüksek lisans programı açıldı. Engellilik deneyiminin kişisel ve toplumsal düzeyde etkilerini incelemeyi hedefleyen bu programın belkemiğini oluşturan konulardan birisi de, toplumlarda engelliliğin tarihsel ve sosyokültürel boyutlarıydı. Türkiye’de engelliliğin tarihsel ve sosyo-kültürel boyutlarını ilgilendiren alanlarda farklı disiplinler tarafından yapılmış bazı çalışmalara rastlanmaktadır. Bununla birlikte, engellilik çalışmalarıyla ilgilenen araştırmacılar için kaynak ihtiyacı açık bir şekilde eksikliği hissedilen bir konudur. The publication deals with the topic of measuring metacognition, with special emphasis on a specific group of intellectually gifted children. It briefly presents the construct of metacognition itself, its relation to intellectual giftedness, together with a taxonomy of metacognitive phenomena. Next, the most important methods developed to assess metacognition are discussed and critically appraised. The monography covers both the methods, in which the data are registered during the execution of the stimulus task (on-line methods), and the methods, where the data are recorded with some time lag (off-line methods). The most extensive part of the publication is devoted to the topic of various measures, used to express the level of metacognitive monitoring.

Its importance is growing over time and, given the results of measuring different areas of pupil literacy, it can be assumed that it will not be otherwise in the future. The International Conference on Didactics, organized by the Pedagogical Faculty of Masaryk University, DTI University and The Unity of Czech Mathematicians and Physicists branch office Brno, is an important platform for sharing and developing the area of common interests of experts. Tanmateix, en els darrers anys s’han endegat una sèrie d’iniciatives que palesen un reviscolament de l’interès per l’escultura moderna i contemporània,un moviment de recuperació en el qual la universitat ha pres part. Aquest llibre aplega estudis sobre aquesta matèria realitzats per diversos especialistes amb la voluntat de descobrir l’escultura i el seu univers creatiu, sovint desconegut però sempre sorprenent.

Description: A partir de l’estudi de la tradició, el patrimoni i el turisme, Llorenç Prats ha reflexionat sobre els imaginaris col·lectius hegemònics en relació amb la identitat i sobre els mecanismes polítics i simbòlics que intervenen en la seva formació i el seu desenvolupament. En aquest sentit, la contribució de l’autor a l’antropologia catalana ha estat cabdal, perquè ha desconstruït alguns paradigmes de la nació i la identitat catalanes. A mitjan anys noranta va investigar sobre la categoria i l’ús del patrimoni com a artefacte cultural, cosa que va tenir una notable influència a escala nacional i internacional, i, ja més recentment, el seu treball s’ha orientat a l’estudi antropològic del turisme. Aquest llibre, que reuneix textos publicats per Prats entre 1985 i 2014, és una mostra representativa del seu llegat acadèmic i una eina útil per al debat, la docència i la recerca, així com un estímul per interrogar-se sobre la naturalesa, el caràcter i la funció social del que ell mateix anomena «artificis culturals».

Description: Quality of life depends on a series of objective indicators and subjective evaluations of all the living spaces that affect human beings’ economic, social, physical, and psychological dimensions and has the potential to serve individual and social development. Ensuring satisfactory quality of life will bring about decent socio-economic conditions, such as in the conceptualization of decent work. Newly improved conditions will also bring higher quality, and policymakers and decision-makers at the institutional level have great responsibilities in this context. This book addresses quality of life and its related issues from an interdisciplinary perspective and discusses them at a conceptual and theoretical level. The book includes classifying the quality of life indicators by considering their individual, social, economic, and organizational context. The application section examines the quality of life of international students, a fragile population group who’ve experienced various disadvantages during the COVID-19 global health crisis. As a matter of fact, each international student provides human capital at the global level, and serves to construct an incorruptible and inexhaustible value in shaping a future that concerns all of humanity. This value will preserve its existence in all economic, social, cultural, and political fields and serve as the mortar in constructing the foundations for a better quality of life. This book has been prepared with this intention in order to address the issue of quality of life and to guide the decisions and practices regarding identifying the quality of life and problem areas of international students studying at Istanbul University in the context of COVID-19 restrictions.

Description: Title in English: Physical activity as an effective means of non-pharmacological care in oncology. Much of the existing research confirms the assumption that regular physical activity can play a crucial role in nonpharmacological therapy and quality of life management in cancer survivors. The treatment of oncological diseases itself brings about numerous undesirable side effects, such as cardiotoxicity, anxiety, depression, sarcopenia, polyneuropathy, cancer fatigue and sleep disorders. Regular physical activity is associated with significant benefits for health including a lower risk of developing certain types of tumours and elimination of the accompanying undesirable effects of oncological treatment. A number of epidemiological studies found a correlation between regular physical activity and lower mortality linked to oncological diseases. The minimal amount of the activity needed to gain this benefit has not been established, however, the recommendations of ACSM indicate that at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity are needed per week. Physical exercise as nonpharmacological treatment is a domain of cancer survivors therapy whose aim is to incorporate targeted controlled exercise programmes into the overall treatment plan of the patients. Exercise programmes can be performed both in the duration of the illness as well as in the period prior to the treatment or in the course of adjuvant antitumour treatment (including chemotherapy) and in survivors. When prescribing physical activity it is necessary to take current health condition of the patient into account including their comorbidities, age or the level of physical fitness. If controlled physical activity is to become an indispensable part of oncological treatment it will be necessary to prove the therapy is safe and cost-effective.

Description: This book is dedicated to the imagination of migrant communities from former Yugoslavia. It contextualizes their imagination in relation to the history, space and culture of Yugoslavia. Its empirical basis is grounded in the contemporary history of the migration from former Yugoslavia. The first part of the work deals with the methodology and theory relevant to the case studies. Besides the theory of imagination originating in the thought of Émile Durkheim, Cornelius Castoriadis, Benedict Anderson and Arjun Appadurai. I have also focused on the theory of popular culture, quoting its founding thinkers related to the Birmingham school of Centre of contemporary Cultural Studies, as well as John Fiske and the parallel culture- -driven research of Pierre Bourdieu and Michel de Certeau. The theoretical framework of this book generally relates to Marxism, and the works of Antonio Gramsci, David Harvey, Immanuel Wallerstein, Slavoj Žižek and others. The methodology of this book is closely inspired by the anthropological tradition of participant observation. The primary sources are heterogeneous and partly issue from the narration of the informants during several in-depth interviews as well as from narration, edited either by the different institutions of the host-country or the by editors based in the home-country. The second part of the book provides a historical and geographical context for the case studies that follow. It presents the contemporary history of migration from the western Balkans starting at the beginning of the 20th century as cross border migrations following patterns of industrial modernisation. The economic migrations of the working classes were supplemented by migrations of members of the intellectual elites who chose merely symbolic destinations for emigration. However, the core-periphery of primarily economic relations of the world-system as identified by Immanuel Wallerstein remained unchanged even by this symbolic logic. Migrations during the second half of the 20th century are presented in more detail. The political turmoil of 1941-1948 which established the Yugoslav Socialist Federation in its position between the two blocs and this point is the essential contextual reference of this book. During the socialist years in Yugoslavia we may identify two main motives of migration – economic and political. These may somehow relate to the previous histories of popular and elite emigration but under the new political regime it changed substantially. These two motives are part of the establishment of specific segments of migrants and their interrelations. Starting from the early 1960s the economic motive of migration gave rise to the phenomenon of Gastatbajteri (guest-workers) that changed the social and cultural landscape of former Yugoslavia, and together with it also many cities of Western European and other host-countries. However, the frontier between the two types of migrants (political and economic) is not completely defined and in many cases the two motives coincided. The coincidence of the political and economic motives for migration may also be visible during and after the break-up of Yugoslavia. In this part of the book I cover the history of the 1990s refugee migrations that were often linked to the local practice of ethnic homogenization conducted by all parties involved in the series of conflicts. Besides, many migrants from regions that were not directly involved in the war used the possibility to obtain refugee status to escape the economic, social and intellectual downturn of the successor countries of former Yugoslavia. Here, the basic theoretical distinction between voluntary and involuntary migrations is discussed arguing that practically no migration is voluntary and should the migrants be completely free to choose, many would prefer to stay at home. Three host countries of migrants from former Yugoslavia are presented more in detail: France, Austria and the Czech Republic. Each of these countries has its specificities in the world-system and also in relation to migrations from former Yugoslavia. Differences and similarities among them are presented in relation to the different segments of migrants crystallised either according to their ethno-confessional/political background and/or motive of migration. Different segments of migrants from former Yugoslavia are formed around different memory-systems. As a first case study I present politics of memory linked to two lieux de mémoire – one in France (Villefranche-de-Rouergue) and one in Austria (Bleiburg). By coincidence both are important in particular for memories of migrants of Croatian origin. The two memorials however, present completely opposing views of national history. Villefranche- de-Rouergue is a symbol for Croatian antifacist resistance and Bleiburg a symbol for the retreat of collaborationist forces of the pro-Nazi puppet Independent state of Croatia. Both of these memorials however, form an example of political memory that even if on the first sight seems contradictory, is by definition syncretic. If the first case study deals with history and memory the second one completes it with the examination of the space dimension. Here I present different images linked to space that surrounded migrants from former Yugoslavia in their host-countries and I discuss also memories of spaces and places in the home-country. I identify three such images – Road, Landscape and Motherland. Based on these images I propose redesigning the nostalgic cartographies of migrants from those presenting world-views of the external researchers (nostalgia of multiculturalism) to those specifically declared by migrants (nostalgia of Home). The third case study is the one that is the most similar in form to most Cultural and Subcultural studies and deals in detail with imagination linked to music. Here, similar to the politics of memory, different segments of migrants are confronted with rock and folk music as well as with a specific local variety of pop-folk. Furthermore, patriotic and electronic music are discussed as well as the topic of Balkanism in cinematography and the communication of ethnic origins on French internet websites.

Description: El patrimoni literari pot esdevenir una «eina» on sentir-nos identificats com a societat, al mateix temps que pot convertir-se en un element diferenciador amb capacitat de posicionar-se i esdevenir agent socioeconòmic. Perquè això succeeixi cal que abandoni la seva posició perifèrica i se’n professionalitzi la gestió. Precisament l’objectiu d’aquesta publicació és evidenciar la importància de la gestió del patrimoni literari perquè es (re)conegui com a propi al si d’una societat i sobrevisqui al pas del temps reconeixent-li i reivindicant-ne la importància en termes identitaris, de cohesió social i econòmics, com a motor de desenvolupament. Per aconseguir-ho es comença investigant sobre el concepte de patrimoni literari, entès com a (poli)sistema, per després conceptualitzar-ne la gestió. Si bé actualment aquest terme envaeix el nostre espai i sovint el llegim de manera unívoca, en el moment en què hi aprofundim hem de reconsiderar-ne el significat. Així mateix, la identitat, que ha estat el tema nuclear de l’art, el pensament i la ciència occidentals des del Romanticisme fins al jo líquid de la Postmodernitat, ha adquirit una dimensió polisèmica al llarg del temps. Els articles que aplega Violència i identitat, escrits per especialistes en crítica literària i estudis culturals, tracten aquestes qüestions alternant la mirada cap a les víctimes amb les múltiples figuracions de la violència en llibres com Barbablavai Cinquanta ombres de Grey, en la narrativa negra catalana escrita per dones, en l’obra d’autors sirians i en la de Jean Améry, Ryszard Kapuscinski, Herta Müller, Isabella Santacroce i debbie tucker green, entre d’altres. This technological area opens up new possibilities in a wide range of fields from industry, medicine, construction and architecture to the level of everyday home use. We also see a huge didactic potential in 3D technology, which is currently not being used. The implementation of 3D technologies in teaching at primary and secondary schools enables the creation of completely new types of teaching aids and increases the availability of teaching models for pupils and students. Students can work with teaching models in class and, with methodological supports, they also actively participate in their creation.

Vychází z detailního popisu jazyků a dialektů současného Španělska a snaží se načrtnout jazykovou dimenzi konfliktů, ke kterým dochází v tomto mnohojazyčném státě. Popisuje historii a současnost složitého vztahu mezi jazykem oficiálním (španělština) a jazyky kooficiálními (katalánština, baskičtina, galicijština). Ukazuje, že jazykový rozměr je jen jedním z aspektů, byť důležitým, daleko složitějšího konfliktu a že vztah mezi tímto jazykovým rozměrem a dimenzí politickou, kulturní a sociální je daleko komplikovanější, než jak se obvykle prezentuje. Vychází z analýzy aktuálních statistických dat a kromě detailního popisu stavu na jednotlivých dvojjazyčných územích (Baskicko, Galicie, Katalánsko, Valencie, Baleáry) obsahuje též zobecňující komentář, z kterého vyplývá, jak rozdílná je povaha jazykových konfliktů na jednotlivých územích a jak obtížné je hledat řešení na centrální, celošpanělské úrovni.

Description: La literatura popular, entesa en el sentit que en anglès es dóna al terme «folk literature», representa com a mínim la meitat de la literatura que es produeix en una cultura. Tanmateix, sovint no som prou conscients de la importància que té ni de l'espai que ocupa en les nostres vides. El present llibre pren com a objecte d'estudi aquesta branca del folklore, que es coneix també amb les denominacions de literatura tradicional, literatura oral, literatura oral popular i etnopoètica, depenent de la tradició seguida al llarg de la història d'aquests estudis. Més concretament, el llibre se centra en l'estudi de la història de la literatura popular catalana i té per objectiu explicar la importància que ha tingut en el passat i encara té avui dia aquesta branca del saber en tots els territoris de parla catalana: Catalunya, les Illes Balears, el País Valencià, el Carxe, la Franja d'Aragó, Andorra, la Catalunya del Nord i l'Alguer. En el marc d'aquesta col·laboració, s'han estudiat els autors, les obres, les institucions i els projectes que han contribuït de manera decisiva al desenvolupament de la literatura popular en cadascun d'aquests territoris des dels inicis del sorgiment del folklore com a ciència, a mitjans del segle XIX, fins a l'actualitat.

Description: Diplomalar eğitim tarihi açısından önemli belgelerdir. Onları veren okullar, okutulan dersler ve giderek o dersleri okutan hocalar hakkında ilginç bilgiler verirler. Yükseköğretim tarihi ile ilgilenmeye başladıktan sonra birer belge niteliği taşıyan çeşitli alanlardaki diplomaların kendilerini ve kopyalarını toplamaya başladım ve zaman içinde bir diploma koleksiyonu ortaya çıktı. Bunlara öğrenci kimlik ve belgeleri de eklendi. On yıl önce bunlardan bir sergi açma gündeme geldiyse de çeşitli nedenlerle gerçekleşemedi ve hazırladığım sergi kataloğu da bir taslak halinde kaldı. Yakın dönemde bu projeye eski bir mensubu olduğum İstanbul Üniversitesi tarafından sahip çıkıldı. Bu kitap İstanbul Üniversitesi Rektörlüğü tarafından düzenlenmesi planlanan “Osmanlı’dan Cumhuriyet’e Yükseköğrenim Diploma ve Belgeleri” adlı serginin genişletilmiş kataloğudur. Sergi özel koleksiyonumda bulunan diploma ve belgelerin seçilmiş bir bölümünü içerecektir. Kitapta ise koleksiyonumda bulunan tüm diploma ve belgelere yer verildiği gibi belirli bir alan veya okul için kronolojik açıdan boşluk olan yerlerde sürekliliği sağlamak amacıyla çeşitli kaynaklardan alınan bazı diploma ve belgeler de verilmiştir. Ayrıca, diploma ve belgelerin yanına ilginç bazı fotoğraflflar da eklenmiştir. Böylece diplomalar üzerinden Türkiye’deki yükseköğretimin tarihinin ana hatları da verilmeye çalışılmıştır, Diplomalar büyük bir çaba gösterip emek harcayarak onları elde etmiş olan sahipleri açısından hem manen ve hem de kendilerine bir iş sağlaması bakımından maddeten büyük değer taşır ve korunur. Ancak, piyasada çok sayıda eski diplomanın satılır olması ailelerdeki aidiyet duygusunun genellikle zayıf olmasından dolayı kişilerin ölümünden sonra çocuklarının anne veya babalarının diplomalarını evde koyacak bir yer bulamamalarından olsa gerek eskiciye satmalarından kaynaklanmaktadır. Kitapta bulunan ve kaynak gösterilmemiş olan tüm diploma, belge ve fotoğraflflar özel koleksiyonumdadır. Elli yıllık geçmişi olan ve artık tarihsellik kazanmış bulunan kendi diploma ve bazı belgelerimi de kitaba ekledim. Burada sunulan diplomaların ve belgelerin bir bölümü daha önce yaptığım çeşitli yayınlarda yayınlanmış olmakla birlikte önemli bir bölümü ilk kez yayınlanmaktadır. Kitap düzenlenirken diploma ve belgeler tıp ve sağlık bilimleri, sosyal bilimler, fen bilimleri ve mühendislik olmak üzere kendi içlerinde alt bölümlere ayrılan dört ana grup altında toplanmıştır. Her bölümün başında o okulun veya kurumun geçmişine ilişkin çok kısa bir bilgi verilmiştir. Aynı kökten gelen farklı okul ve kurumlar için verilen bilgilerde ister istemez bazı küçük tekrarlar da olmuştur. Bazı çok önemli kişi veya olaylar hakkında da kısa açıklamalar yapılmıştır. Kitabın son kısmında doğrudan yükseköğrenim ile ilişkili olmamakla birlikte eğitim tarihimiz açısından önem taşıyan bazı diploma ve belgelere de yer verilmiştir. Ayrıca, kitaba Türkiye’deki yükseköğretimin toplu bir kronolojisi de eklenmiştir. Bazı okullar ve dönemler için diploma ve belge bulmak son derece güçtür. Örneğin, İnâs Darülfünunu’nun bu güne kadar bilinen iki diploması vardır. Bu güne kadar Darülfünun-ı Şâhâne’den 1908 öncesinde verilmiş Ulûm-ı Âliye-i Diniye Şubesi’ne ilişkin bir diploma dışında başka bir diplomaya rastlanmamıştır. Burada sunulan tıp, sosyal ve fen bilimleri alanlarındaki diploma ve belgelerin çok büyük bir çoğunluğu doğal olarak İstanbul Üniversitesi’nin geçmişine ilişkindir.

Description: Title in English: Motivation Support in Teaching German as a Foreign Language (and Beyond) With regard to the proven significant impact of motivation on learning processes and their success, promoting learner’s motivation can be described as an important part of pedagogical activity. The current book presents research investigations into learners’ motivation in learning German as a foreign language. A qualitative research design conducted as a multi-case study was chosen in order to gain a deeper insight into the issue of motivation. The results obtained showed the wide scope of teachers’ motivating influence on their learners. Many of the existing findings on motivation could be verified. Moreover, the specifics of motivation towards German as a second foreign language as well as the culturally conditioned specifics concerning Czech learners’ attitudes towards the German language have been highlighted.

Description: El 2001, feia cinquanta anys que Jordi Pere Cerdà (Premi d’Honor de les Lletres Catalanes1995) entrava en literatura amb «La guatila i la garba ».És un col·loqui científic que li fou ofert com a prova d’homenatge, just en aquella terra de Cerdanya «entremig de totes les terres» que nodreix la seva obra d‘imatges, de saba dialectal, de memòria col·lectiva, però també de qüestionaments sobre el que ell anomena el «trencat» i el «cosit»: la ferida i el lligam - sobre la frontera - totes les fronteres. Trenta cinc escriptors, investigadors, universitaris catalans, francesos i occitans varen reunir-se per parlar de Jordi Pere Cerdà i analitzar una obra major de la nostra literatura contemporània. Un home i una obra que són l’expressió mateixa de la problemàtica que planteja la catalanitat al País del Nord.

Description: Title in English: Test versions equivalence of the Slovak upper-secondary school leaving examination The research presented in this book strives to answer how test versions equivalence – a necessary condition for meaningful and fair interpretation and comparison of students’ results – could be achieved in the context of high-stakes examination. The research was carried on the Slovak upper-secondary school leaving examination in English at B1 level, namely on the tests of receptive skills operationalized between 2012 and 2015. Theoretical research on the methods and procedures and the application of some of them on the Slovak examinations in the empirical part provided deep insight into the degree of comparability of the test versions used between 2012 and 2015 and made it possible to identify problem areas in terms of test versions comparability. The research helped to identify suitable methods and approaches that might enable to develop equivalent test versions and subsequently, to interpret meaningfully the test results and the measured construct, i.e. students’ language proficiency.

Description: L’obra completa de Rossend Arús i Arderiu (1845-1891), dramaturg popular, republicà, catalanista, lliurepensador i maçó, integra més de cinquanta peces dramàtiques i constitueix la col·lecció més extensa de teatre vuitcentista a l’abast del lector actual. De les seves peces, que tenen una dimensió política, sobresurten els drames realistes contemporanis i en prosa, en què l’autor va ser pioner. Aquest segon volum, amb les peces escrites entre el 1874 i el 1877, segueix el títol Teatre complet I (1865-1873), que incloïa un estudi aprofundit de Magí Sunyer, professor titular del Departament de Filologia Catalana de la Universitat Rovira i Virgili.

Description: La variació de tot tipus que es manifesta en qualsevol llengua és el símptoma (o la manifestació) del canvi. Podem dir que la variació lingüística resulta de captar una imatge estàtica de la llengua però projectada en el contínuum tetradimensional espai-temps. Per la seva pròpia naturalesa, la variació, doncs, només pot ser estudiada des d’un punt de vista integracional i tenint en compte la dimensió temporal. Imbricacions entre variació històrica i variació geogràfica en la llengua catalana aplega les contribucions que es van presentar a la dissetena edició del Col·loqui Lingüístic de la Universitat de Barcelona (CLUB 17) amb l’objectiu de presentar aspectes concrets (en fonètica, morfologia, sintaxi i lèxic) de la imbricació entre variació històrica i variació geogràfica i també d’examinar les conseqüències metodològiques i didàctiques que comporta aquesta mirada complexa.

In particular, the document takes into account the role that innovation and information technologies will play in the safety, quality and sustainability of the system. It addresses specifically communication-related issues and public perception of risks associated with foods. The “Opinion Group” of the OBD that has prepared this document was constituted in 1996 under the leadership of Dr. María Casado. Among its objectives is to influence the dialogue between the university and society through the transference of scientific-technical knowledge and the analysis of arguments needed to participate in informed social debate. With the publication of this document on food information, twenty-five documents have now been published concerning current issues on which no agreed upon consensus in society or in the various scientific communities involved exists. This has required identifying problems, comparing perspectives and proposing consensus-based recommendations. This document focuses on bioethical issues related to food information and highlights the disconnect between current food information policy based on labelling and the indiscriminate dissemination of food information available to the consumer through different channels. Supportive learning environment. The second part of the book presents 17 didactic case studies that have been developed by teams that consisted of researchers and teachers from schools. The aim of didactic case studies is to highlight key areas of productive culture of teaching and learning.

Description: 2014 yılında yaz başında (09 Haziran) yaptığımız toplantıya dayanıyor bu kitabın hikâyesi. Toplantıda İstanbul Üniversitesi’nde gönüllülüğü nasıl yaygınlaştıracağımızı tartışmıştık. Hayata geçirebileceğimiz çeşitli uygulamalardan söz etmiş, ancak ne yaparsak yapalım uygulamaların araştırmaya dayanması gerektiğinin altını çizmiştik. Böylelikle Sosyoloji Araştırma Merkezi bünyesinde gerçekleştirdiğimiz “İstanbul Üniversitesi Öğrencilerinin Gönüllülük Algıları, Eğilimleri ve Deneyimleri” araştırması ortaya çıktı. Süreç içerisinde farklı bileşenler eklediğimiz bu araştırma, sonrasında “Üniversitede Gönüllü Olmak” başlığıyla kitaba dönüştü. Ayrıca bu araştırmadan hareketle öğrencilerin gönüllülük konusundaki farkındalıklarını artırmak amacıyla Gönüllü Akademisi (seminer, atölye, film okuması, STK ziyareti vb. etkinliklerden oluşan 10 haftalık bir program) ve Gönüllü Ol İstanbul Platformu (gönüllü olmak isteyenlerle gönüllü arayan STK’ları, projeleri, kampanyaları buluşturmak, eşleştirmek için kurulan İstanbul Üniversitesi öğrencilerine yönelik platform) hayata geçirildi. Elbette araştırma ve uygulamaların tamamı öğrenci arkadaşlarımızla ve hepimizin gönüllü çalışmalarıyla ilerledi. En başından itibaren gönüllülük üzerine yapılan çalışmaların doğasını yitirmemesine özen göstermeye -ne kadar başarabildik bilmiyoruz elbette- gayret ettik. Gerek Gönüllü Akademisine gerekse düzenlediğimiz gönüllülük çalışmalarına 1000’den fazla öğrenci dahil oldu. Bunun yanı sıra Sosyoloji Bölümü bünyesinde Sivil Toplum ve Gönüllülük dersi açıldı ve öğrencilerin ilgi gösterdiği önemli seçmeli derslerden biri hâline geldi. Bunu yine Sosyoloji Bölümü bünyesinde açılan STK ve Sosyal Sorumluluk Yönetimi Tezsiz Yüksek Lisans programı takip etti. Bu program STK alanındaki öncü ve deneyimli isimlerin verdiği dersler üzerine temellendirildi. Daha çok sektörde çalışan profesyonellerin, STK alanında çalışmak isteyenlerin ve gönüllülerin katıldığı bir program olarak hâlen sürdürmekteyiz. Bununla birlikte gönüllülük, STK’lar ve ilgili konularda paneller ve çalıştaylar düzenledik. Son olarak Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı için Türkiye Gönüllülük Araştırmasını gerçekleştirdik. Bu çerçevede İstanbul Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Sosyoloji Bölümü olarak her düzeyde gönüllülük ve STK’lar alanında çalışma yapmaya, öğrenciler arasında gönüllülüğü yaygınlaştırmaya, STK alanında bilgi ve deneyim paylaşımını sağlamaya ve bu alanda ilişki ve işbirliğini geliştirmeye devam ediyoruz. Bu kitabın hazırlayıcı adımlarından biri ise 18 Nisan 2018’de İstanbul Üniversitesi’nde düzenlediğimiz “Üniversitelerde Gönüllülük Dersi Müfredat Çalıştayı”dır. Akademisyenlerin, STK profesyonellerinin, gönüllülerin, öğrenci kulüplerinden temsilcilerin vb. katıldığı bu çalıştayda üniversitelerde gönüllülük müfredatını katılımcı bir perspektifle ele aldık. Bu çalıştayın katılımcılarının fikirleri elinizdeki çalışmanın biçimlenmesinde önemli bir rol oynadı. Çalıştay raporu hazırlandı, ancak raporu yayımlayamadık. Müfredat çalıştayından sonra üniversitelerde seçmeli ders fikri ve bu ders için hazırlanacak materyaller konusunda yeni adımlar planladık. Ancak farklı gündemler nedeniyle o dönem gerçekleştiremediğimiz bu çalışmaya Yükseköğretim Kurulu Başkanlığının 2020 Nisan ayında üniversitelerde “Gönüllülük Çalışmaları” dersinin seçmeli olarak açılmasına yönelik aldığı kararla yeniden döndük ve kitap çalışmalarımızı hızlandırdık. Bu çalışmanın kapsayıcı ve kuşatıcı olmasına özen göstermemiz ve farklı konuları ele alma arzumuz nedeniyle süreç biraz uzadı, ancak nihayet tamamlandı ve artık karşınızdayız. “Gönüllülük ve Gönüllülerle Birlikte Çalışmak” gönüllülüğü farklı boyutlarıyla ele alarak günümüzde gönüllülükle ilgili çok sayıdaki bağlamı ve kavramı okuyucuya sunma hedefini taşıyor. Ancak her bir bölümün kendi içinde belirdiği haliyle gönüllülüğü farklılaştıran boyutları göz ardı etmiyor. Günümüzde gönüllülüğün ancak tüm boyutları ile ele alındığı takdirde tarihsel ve toplumsal bağlamla ilişki kurmanın mümkün olduğunu iddia ediyor bu kitap. Kitapta birçok başlık yalnız STK yöneticilerine hitap ediyor gibi görünmekle birlikte burada asıl hedef gönüllülük yapacak kişileri bilgilendirmek, onları gönüllülük faaliyetlerine hazır hale getirmek, STK yöneticilerinin farkındalığını sağlamak ve gönüllülerin gelecekte hayata geçirecekleri kendi gönüllülük girişimlerini daha nitelikli hâle getirmelerine katkıda bulunmaktır. Kitap okuyuculara gönüllülüğün farklı boyutlarını tanıma imkânı sunmaktadır. Kitabın iki boyutu olduğu söylenebilir: Birincisi gönüllülük deneyimi sınırlı olan ya da hiç gönüllü olmamış kişilere gönüllülüğün farklı boyutlarını göstermektir. İkincisi ise kişilerin gönüllülük çalışmaları organize etmeleri, bu yönde inisiyatif almaları durumunda gönüllülerle beraber nasıl çalışabilecekleri konusunda onlara yeni araçlar sağlamaktır. Evrensel boyutları olsa da gönüllülük toplumların kültürel, tarihi, dini, siyasi, ekonomik ve coğrafi birikimine bağlı olarak ortaya çıkar. Bu nedenle kitapta son 50 yıldır yaşanan yeni gelişmelere ve eğilimlere yer verirken Türkiye’nin kendine özgü bir gönüllülük anlayışına ve kültürüne sahip olduğunu unutmadan ilerlemeye çalışıyoruz. Türkiye’nin gönüllülük alanındaki köklü ve zengin birikiminin toplumun inanç ve yaşama kültürüne yaslandığını, gönüllülüğün karşılıksız bir dayanışmayı içerdiğini sıklıkla vurguluyoruz. Diğer taraftan gönüllülüğün farklı boyutlarını tanıtarak eleştirel bir perspektiften tartışmayı, bu tartışmayı derinleştirmeyi ve nitelikli hâle getirmeyi, yeni araştırma ve uygulama odaklarını göstermeyi amaçlıyoruz. Kitabın içerik tasarımında gönüllülük sahasının öncelikli konularına yer vermeyi amaç edindik. Bölümlerin bazıları kuramsal tartışmalara ve yaklaşımlara odaklanırken bir kısmı gönüllülüğün uygulama boyutuyla ilişkilidir. Ayrıca alandaki yeni eğilimlere ve tartışmalı konulara da kitapta bölüm düzeyinde yer verdik. Gönüllülüğün modern dönemde değişen doğasını ve 1970’li yıllar sonrasında gelişen neoliberal bağlamı ihmal etmeden ama güncel gelişmeleri de görmezden gelmeden gönüllülükle ilişkili temel konuları ele almaya çalıştık. Bu yaklaşım tanıyarak tartışmayı ve eleştirel bir perspektif geliştirmeyi içermektedir. Bu nedenle kitapta birbirleriyle çelişkili gibi duran, farklı perspektiflere sahip kavramlara ve yaklaşımlara yer verilmesi alanı tanıtmanın ve eleştirel bir perspektif geliştirmenin öncelikli bir hedef olmasıyla ilgilidir. Giriş dahil on altı farklı bölümden farklı bölümden oluşan kitapta yazarlar arasında ortak bir dil oluşturmaya çalışırken her bir yazarın ve konunun gerektirdiği perspektifi korumaya özen gösterdik. Her bölümün kendi içerisinde farklı konumlanma ve değerlendirmeler ihtiva etmesine imkân tanıdık. Bu nedenle kitabı okurken hem bir bütün hem de birbirinden farklı parçalarla karşı karşıya olduğunuzu hatırdan çıkarmamanızı diliyoruz. Yazarların gönüllülüğe bakışı, gönüllülüğü kavrama biçimleri, alandaki konumlanmaları, uygulama tercihleri vb. hususların bir zenginlik olduğunu düşünüyoruz. Kitabın yayımlanmasından sonra okuyuculardan gelecek geri dönüşler ve yazarların kendi aralarında yapacakları tartışmalar neticesinde hem kitabın mevcut halinin geliştirilmesi mümkün olacak hem de yeni yazarlar ve bölümlerin eklenmesiyle eser genişleyerek okuyucusuna yeni perspektifler sunmaya devam edecektir.
