In fact, the disciplines of drawing have always been confronted with themes and issues relating to transitions from one condition to another.     Description: Transcending the dialectic between appearance and reality, Euripides succeeded in giving human intelligibility to a new Helena, who never loved Paris nor fled with him. Menelaus' wife must vindicate to her newfound husband that she is the real Helena, quite different from the ghost that the hero brought with him from Troy. The volume analyzes the various resources of re-characterization of Helena in Euripides' tragedy. ; Los personajes de la tragedia ática han sido ampliamente estudiados desde perspectivas en las que, a menudo, sus palabras y actos se explican a partir de nuestras nociones modernas sobre la mente humana y la personalidad, y desde valoraciones éticas y juicios morales ajenos a la Grecia clásica. El ensayo Rescatando a Helena se propone contemplar la caracterización de Helena en la tragedia homónima de Eurípides desde una perspectiva en la que la inteligibilidad humana del personaje no procede del supuesto descubrimiento de su conciencia interna o de su psique individual, sino de la adecuada subordinación de la caracterización de Helena a la acción de la obra en la que dicha caracterización está orgánicamente integrada. En vez de aislar al personaje del contexto dramático al que pertenece, como si estuviese dotado de una identidad idiosincrática, mi ensayo no intenta descubrir quién es realmente Helena leyendo entre líneas por debajo de la superficie textual, sino cómo sus palabras y acciones logran conmover eficazmente al auditorio original de la obra. Frente a nuestras lecturas eruditas y reflexivas de los textos conservados, los espectadores del siglo V a. C. acudían al Teatro de Dioniso para ver y oír las acciones y las palabras de los personajes trágicos dentro de un espectáculo más amplio que incluía música y danza. Es decir, la tragedia ática era ante todo una experiencia emocional, no una ocasión para la introspección psicológica o la reflexión filosófica.

    Description: En este libro se presenta una parte de los resultados del proyecto internacional de investigación “Impacto en la equidad de acceso y la eficiencia de las redes integradas de servicios de salud en Colombia y Brasil (Equity-LA)”, financiado por la Unión Europea y en el que participaron seis instituciones de cuatro países, dos europeos (España y Bélgica) y dos latinoamericanos (Colombia y Brasil). La investigación se diseñó con el propósito de mejorar la comprensión sobre el impacto de la implementación de las redes integradas de servicios de salud en el acceso, la coordinación, la eficiencia y la equidad de acceso, en diferentes contextos de Latinoamérica. El estudio además de evidencia, generó nuevas preguntas, que dieron lugar al proyecto Equity LA II (www.equity-la.eu), actualmente en desarrollo, también financiado por la Unión Europea, que profundiza en sus resultados y amplía el análisis a cuatro países más de América Latina: Argentina, Chile, México y Uruguay. Los resultados contenidos en esta obra se refieren únicamente a los aspectos de acceso, coordinación, continuidad y calidad de la atención en las redes de servicios de salud, que se analizan mediante un estudio de casos, basado en estudios cualitativos y cuantitativos y cuyos datos se recogieron entre 2009 y 2012.

    Description: El acceso a la justicia y a las problemáticas que la rodean no deja de ser un hecho pertinente ante la realidad del país. Son múltiples las barreras existentes no solo para acceder al aparato judicial, sino también para garantizar el correcto ejercicio de los derechos humanos. Por lo anterior, la Universidad del Rosario, en cabeza del Observatorio Legislativo y del Grupo de Investigación en Derechos Humanos, en asociación con la Fundación Hanns Seidel, culminó con éxito la décima versión del Concurso Nacional de Semilleros de Investigación titulado “Diálogos interdisciplinarios sobre los problemas de la justicia en Colombia”, el cual, por primera vez en la historia, se realizó de manera virtual, dadas las circunstancias generadas por la pandemia COVID-19. El cierre del evento fue aún más contundente con la publicación de este libro, que contiene las ponencias de los estudiantes ganadores. En esta oportunidad, el objetivo del concurso fue brindar un espacio propicio de investigación, generación de conocimiento y fortalecimiento de habilidades para los estudiantes interesados en reflexionar en torno al acceso a la justicia y sus barreras desde diferentes frentes: estructura institucional; grupos de especial protección constitucional; eficacia, eficiencia y transparencia; métodos alternativos en resolución de conflictos; justicia diferencial; justicia en los territorios; jurisdicciones especiales y justicia digital.

Así, este libro recoge las ponencias de los estudiantes ganadores del IX Concurso de Semilleros de Investigación, en procura de propiciar espacios académicos de fortalecimiento de la democracia, la institucionalidad y los derechos humanos, dentro de los cuales este concurso se destaca no solo por perdurabilidad en el tiempo, al atender temas coyunturales para el país, sino por la pertinencia de dar valor a la investigación como herramienta de cambio social y como instrumento pedagógico de enseñanza que debe fomentarse en la educación superior.

    Description: Esta obra presenta el problema del desconocimiento de la naturaleza jurídica del fenómeno denominado “cláusulas abusivas”, partiendo de la existencia de la gran diversidad de planteamientos y tratamientos jurídicos dados a dicho fenómeno a nivel internacional, con principal énfasis en el ordenamiento jurídico colombiano, donde se encuentran distintas concepciones y consecuencias para el mismo fenómeno. Ante dicha situación se pretende determinar cuál es la naturaleza jurídica de las cláusulas abusivas, los elementos y requisitos para que se configure dicho fenómeno jurídico para poder determinar cuál es la consecuencia jurídica que debe aplicarse al mismo, procurando una simetría entre una y otra, así como un entendimiento a mayor profundidad del fenómeno que tanta importancia ha cobrado a nivel internacional en los últimos años debido a la masificación y estandarización de la contratación en los distintos sectores económicos y comerciales, proponiendo que la consecuencia adecuada para una cláusula que constituya un abuso debe ser la anulabilidad o nulidad relativa de la misma. El planteamiento que se propone, enfocado en el análisis del contrato de seguros y la posibilidad de abuso de posición dominante contractual en la predisposición de las cláusulas a regir en dicho contrato, no obsta para que pueda ser aplicado a los demás contratos civiles y mercantiles, toda vez que al ser el mismo fenómeno jurídico del que trata la obra, la consecuencia de este ha de ser igual tratándose del mismo contrato en el que una de las partes se encuentre en la capacidad de determinar unilateralmente las condiciones que regirán la ejecución del contrato.

    Description: Esta obra examina las potencialidades y limitaciones del concepto de lo político de Carl Schmitt a la hora de acercarse a las lógicas de guerra y conflicto presentes en la masacre efectuada por los paramilitares en contra de las mujeres wayuu de Bahía Portete, en la Guajira colombiana. Por una parte, la teoría de Schmitt resulta provechosa a la hora de dar cuenta de violencias y enemistades que definieron el carácter del conflicto entre paramilitares y wayuu, y en este sentido, el diálogo que se entabla entre el caso y la teoría abre nuevas perspectivas para abordar lo sucedido en Bahía Portete. Pero, por otro lado, los conceptos de Schmitt se quedan cortos en el momento de dar cuenta de lógicas de violencia extrema, en particular, aquellas relacionadas con la sexualidad. Por esta razón, el texto sugiere que la metodología del punto de vista feminista y las críticas de Jacques Derrida al concepto de lo político de Schmitt pueden proveer herramientas para afrontar los vacíos de la teoría de Schmitt y articular nuevos conceptos que sean útiles para acercarse a las violencias y conflictos contemporáneos.

Este ejercicio microhistórico busca esclarecer algunos aspectos claves de la medicina neogranadina de finales del siglo XVIII en Santafé y sus alrededores, a través de la comprensión y estudio de los casos médicos presentados por Domingo Rota en su libro. El texto explora eventos de la vida de este singular personaje, su proceso de aprendizaje del saber médico, el trato que este mantenía con otros practicantes, los contenidos de su libro y la relación que todos estos aspectos establecen con el universo en el que Domingo llevó a cabo su práctica.

    Description: El ejercicio de reunir estas historias, estos conocimientos disponibles, se propuso para encontrar las palabras y los signos que, como prenociones sobre la vida cotidiana de un grupo individuos, ilustraran (no solo) un mar de problemas (sociológicos): anomías, malestares —por ejemplo, los delirios de violencia, el abuso de alcohol y drogas, las rencillas familiares, etc.—, sino también solidaridades y, sobre todo, amores: múltiples y coloridas representaciones que los individuos-partes del grupo (mis familiares y yo mismo) hacemos de nuestro estado, de nuestras condiciones, del lugar que ocupamos con respecto a los demás. Bourdianamente, me corresponde como científico social “demandar al razonamiento, la revelación de las causas estructurales que las palabras y los signos aparentes no develan más que velándolas” (Bourdieu 2000, 558).

    Description: Los conceptos de comunidad y territorio han sido muy relevantes para la compresión de los procesos sociales, pues dan cuenta de contextos particulares, de rasgos identitarios específicos, de diversas formas de participación y de usos y prácticas concretas. Por ello, el equipo interdisciplinario de estudios en desarrollo local de la Universidad del Rosario, desarrolló entre los años 2011 y 2012, una investigación que buscaba, por un lado, establecer las formas de construcción de comunidad entre los habitantes del sector El Codito y, por otro, determinar el rol del territorio en estos procesos. El presente texto es uno de los resultados de esta investigación y aborda en sus tres capítulos cuestiones como: la evolución del concepto de comunidad a la luz de diferentes teóricos, contrastándola con las percepciones y vivencias de los adultos mayores de El Codito, su consolidación como territorio significado, enmarcado en el proceso de urbanización de Bogotá, en general, y de la localidad de Usaquén, en particular, y la construcción de comunidad a través de variables como la cotidianidad, el sentido de pertenencia, el género y la participación.

    Description: "El programa “Atención al adulto mayor privado de la libertad en Colombia” se construyó con base en los resultados de una investigación sobre este aspecto particular, realizada en el año 2014, en la que participaron hombres y mujeres de diez Establecimientos de Reclusión del Orden Nacional ─ERON─, aportando consideraciones sobre sus condiciones de vida y experiencias en prisión, desde la perspectiva de la adultez mayor. Esto permitió la definición de cinco ejes específicos de intervención (expectativa de vida, familiar, psicológico, prevención de la reincidencia e identificación de la conducta delictiva), que se desarrollan a lo largo del texto, en sus componentes conceptual, metodológico y de aplicación. El programa tiene como objeto brindar atención diferencial tanto individual, como grupal a los adultos mayores durante su tiempo de internamiento, con el fin de aportar al mejoramiento de sus condiciones de vida. Está dirigido a profesionales de diversas áreas con interés en trabajo comunitario con adultos mayores y personas privadas de la libertad, funcionarios del Sistema Nacional Penitenciario y Carcelario Colombiano ¬─ SNPC ─ y diseñadores de la política pública de atención a estas poblaciones específicas."

    Description: Los territorios rurales en Colombia enfrentan retos actuales relacionados no sólo con los aspectos sociales fundamentales para la paz, sino, también con las condiciones productivas y ambientales necesarias para avanzar hacia modelos de desarrollo rural sostenibles. Objetivos como alcanzar soberanía alimentaria, luchar contra la pobreza rural, adaptar la agricultura a riesgos emergentes y mitigar el efecto del cambio climático, proteger los recursos naturales especialmente suelo, agua y agrobiodiversidad, asegurar la prestación de servicios ecosistémicos, atender a la creciente demanda de alimentos, entre otros, requieren reconfigurar los sistemas agroalimentarios. Simultáneamente, la agricultura familiar viene siendo promovida por movimientos sociales que reconocen el papel esencial que cumplen de producir alimentos y cuidar la naturaleza y exigen el reconocimiento de su rol y políticas diferenciales que les permitan reproducir dignamente sus condiciones sociales de vida.

    Description: "¿Pueden las imágenes incidir en la historia? ¿Son fieles evidencias del pasado? Esta compilación aparece frente al renovado interés de la disciplina histórica y las ciencias humanas, por interpretar las fuentes visuales como producciones intencionalmente elaboradas y difundidas tanto en momentos como en espacios particulares. Alejándose de la vista inocente y contemplativa, los autores del libro proponen desde sus contribuciones, situar la función social de las imágenes en el centro de sus análisis de caso, los cuales abarcan un amplio conjunto de procesos latinoamericanos ocurridos entre los siglos XIX y XXI en países como Chile, Brasil, Perú, Colombia y Argentina. De esta manera, cada capítulo invita al lector a “pensar visualmente” temas como la propaganda política, la construcción de la nación, el ensamblaje de identidades o de memorias colectivas, etc., partiendo del supuesto metodológico que sugiere rastrear las imágenes desde su producción hasta su recepción, donde adquieren múltiples sentidos en su respectivo presente, así como en su preservación actual.     Description: La Universidad del Rosario, por conducto del Observatorio Legislativo y el Grupo de Investigación en Derechos Humanos de la Facultad de Jurisprudencia, en asocio con la Fundación Hanns Seidel, organizaron el IV Concurso Nacional de Semilleros titulado “Democracia y Desplazamiento Forzado: un análisis desde diversas perspectivas”, el cual se realizó en el marco del Foro “El Desplazamiento Forzado en Colombia: 10 años de la Sentencia T-025 de 2004”, buscando analizar el estado actual del desplazamiento en Colombia y qué ha pasado con las órdenes impartidas por la Corte Constitucional hace 10 años; así mismo, el objetivo era reconocer los cambios que han existido en la situación de hecho y de derecho de la población desplazada y cuáles son las nuevas dinámicas que han surgido alrededor de esta problemática y que seguramente no existían cuando la Corte profirió tan importante sentencia. 
De las ponencias recibidas por parte de las diferentes instituciones educativas del país, fueron seleccionadas doce para participar en la fase oral que se dio cita los días 5 y 6 de agosto de 2014, en la Universidad del Rosario. Estas ponencias daban cuenta, desde distintos escenarios, del estado del desplazamiento forzado en Colombia, tal como se propuso con el Foro, pero desde las perspectivas de los estudiantes, quienes a partir de la investigación formativa analizaron el fenómeno. 
Tanto la fase oral como la escrita, contaron con la participación de profesores de altas calidades profesionales y académicas que actuaron como pares evaluadores y jurados, certificando así la calidad de las ponencias presentadas y ello los resultados obtenidos. Con este ejercicio pedagógico se observaron los resultados y la importancia de la investigación formativa en las facultades de Derecho y todas las carreras afines, siendo el presente libro una prueba y resultado de ello.

    Description: En la literatura sobre las emociones una de las teorías con mayor fuerza es la llamada “teoría James-Lange”. En esta obra se intenta hacer una crítica a dicha teoría a partir de algunas observaciones de Wittgenstein sobre el uso de conceptos psicológicos, sacando a la luz dos confusiones gramaticales que surgen en ella. Para ello, se construye primero la categoría de “programa de naturalización de las emociones” que recoge las teorías del Descartes, James y Prinz, siguiendo la metodología de Lakatos. Luego, se identifica como problema central el de la naturalización de la intencionalidad. Para luego exponer algunas herramientas de Wittgenstein para estudiar la gramática de la pregunta por el objeto y la intencionalidad las emociones, mostrando que las respuestas del programa de naturalización no son satisfactorias y no respetan las reglas de ciertos usos del lenguaje.
