    Description: Las investigaciones sobre la juventud en la época soviética, aún mantienen grandes atrasos. En una era que vio el surgimiento de movimientos juveniles de todo tipo, el Komsomol soviético fue la primera organización juvenil patrocinada por el Estado en el primer país comunista sobre la tierra. Nacido de un movimiento autónomo que apareció en 1917, el Komsomol, finalmente, devino en uno de los más importantes eslabones de una cadena de agencias y organizaciones que buscaron formar al nuevo homo sovieticus. Basado en una extensa investigación de archivos y numerosos estudios recientes, este libro amplía nuestra comprensión de la dimensión social y política de la membresía del Komsomol durante el trascendental periodo 1917-1932. Ilumina el complicado intercambio entre ideología, política y cultura en la evolución de la Liga, destacando el importante papel que desempeñaron los miembros de base de la organización. La transformación del país conformó a sus componentes, su identidad, la estructura institucional y la personalidad de sus adherentes y, viceversa, la organización, en sí misma, se convirtió en una fuerza crucial en los dramáticos cambios de esa época. El libro investiga el complejo diálogo entre la Liga juvenil Comunista y el régimen, desentrañando el intrincado proceso que transformó al Komsomol en un medio para la formación política al servicio del control e ingeniería social del régimen.

    Description: The existing studies and lines of research around the Solidarity Organization of the Peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America and the Tricontinental design are relatively recent in the field of history. There is no work that has delved into the materials collected within the more than one hundred and eighty-four issues published by the Tricontinental magazine to date. This study, which delves into the history of the organization and into the analysis of three specific representational models of Tricontinental graphic art, aspires to offer new interpretive keys around the Femininity of the Global South, the image of Ernesto Che Guevara and the Imperialism from an alternative point of view scarcely worked until now in the field of historical research.

    Description: En este libro se plantean dos tipos de problemas históricos. En primer término, fue notorio desde los primeros años de la década de 1990 que la periodización con que se explicaba el pasado dejaba muchos vacíos. Desde la ausencia de una fecha de fundación y otra de término de la Transición, hasta si la crisis de la democracia comenzó antes o durante el gobierno de Salvador Allende. Por ello se busca poner en cuestión la cronología de la segunda mitad del siglo XX en Chile, relevando los problemas e intentando resolverlos. En segundo término, está el problema de la desaparición de los protagonistas directos, lo que agrava el desconocimiento sobre su época. La ineficacia de las explicaciones normativas se ve acentuada, pues la autoridad que la sostenía era la de la experiencia de los protagonistas más notorios de la historia reciente. Este libro recoge seis textos previamente publicados en la revista Izquierdas, incorpora también la traducción inédita de un texto del historiador uruguayo Aldo Marchesi; y recopila una serie de columnas publicadas a propósito del cierre de la muestra “Hijos de la Libertad” del Museo Histórico Nacional en mayo de 2018. Estos escritos y estas voces coinciden aquí como expresión de la necesidad de reapropiarnos del pasado reciente de Chile y la región del cono sur, con investigaciones y reflexiones que diluyan el efecto de las lecturas normativas con las que se ha domesticado ese período.

De aquellos que, habiendo nacido junto con el siglo, se abrieron paso en medio del analfabetismo reinante, de la pobreza, de las discriminaciones al ‘indio’, al ‘roteque’, al ‘medio pelo’, a la mujer, es decir, en medio de los “frutos” de los que, vestidos con traje de patrón de fundo, de dueño de poderosas empresas o de caballero de la política, se hacían del trabajo ajeno, con su clasismo, arribismo e hipocresía. Este libro entrega lo que me quedó de muchas horas de conversaciones que hice con Luis Alberto Mansilla, las quedaron dispersas en el tiempo. Sobre todo, fueron horas escuchándolo (y de punzarlo para tirarle la lengua). De acuerdo al origen de los dichos, este texto es la exposición de aquél amplio diálogo.

    Description: Esta obra tiene como objetivo brindar un primer acercamiento al lenguaje de la gestión cultural en Latinoamérica. Un intento de poner en palabras, de realizar una reflexión de lo que se hace y se piensa desde diversos luga res de nuestras múltiples y extensas realidades que nos caracterizan. Como tal, estos conceptos que presentamos están abiertos y en movimiento, y a partir de ello se pueden armar y desarmar, construir y deconstruir, diversos enfoques y tendencias que buscan dar sentido a una gestión cultural latinoamericana que se encuentra en la búsqueda de sí misma. En gran parte de la historia de nuestra práctica, hemos recibido las influencias externas de las formas de hacer, pensar y nombrar la acción cultural. Por tal motivo, y como resultado de múltiples procesos de formalización o profesionalización, nos vemos en la necesidad de tener claridad de los conceptos y diseñar formas posibles de deslindar campos respecto a las importaciones, en muchos casos mecánicas y fuera de lugar, al mismo tiempo que nos llevan a revisar críticamente la forma en que nos vemos y somos vistos. Los términos aquí expuestos buscan dar sentido a una práctica que se viene realizando desde hace muchos años y que necesita ser pensada. No pretenden ser homogéneos ni hegemónicos, sino contribuir a la reflexión de una gestión cultural que cada vez más se perfila como la posibilidad de constituirse en un referente de la acción cultural en Latinoamérica.

    Description: El año 2011 inauguraría un estadio en el proceso socio-político reciente carac­terizado por una politización que se manifiesta en diversos planos: un aumen­to en el debate público, un incremento en la conflictívidad, un mayor involu- cramiento ciudadano y, quizás el más evidente, una expansión en el número de protestas o movilizaciones sociales (PNUD, 2015). De este modo, lo que hoy se conoce como "el despertar de Chile" (18 de octubre en adelante), bien pue­de ser considerado la culminación y ensanche de lo iniciado hace una década.Luego de las primeras movilizaciones de 2011, éstas aumentaron en masividad mientras las demandas ciudadanas se fueron expandiendo y diversificando. En efecto dominó, se desplegaron multitudinarias protestas primero contra el proyecto hidroeléctrico Hidroaysén en el sur del país, para continuar luego con el masivo movimiento estudiantil, protestas regionalistas, marchas a favor de la diversidad sexual y de la legalización de la marihuana, entre otras. Al mismo tiempo, la clase política, la academia, los medios de comunicación y la propia ciudadanía miraban con asombro el fenómeno que estaba teniendo lugar.

    Description: Jorge Insunza Becker (April 21, 1936-March 17, 2019) was one of the main leaders of the Chilean Communist Party since the 1960s. He joined the Communist Youth in 1954. In 1962 he was promoted to the Central Committee of the PC and from 1965 he was part of his Political Commission, the one that led the triumph of Salvador Allende in 1970. After the 1973 coup d'état, he was part of the first clandestine communist leadership that assumed the resistance to the dictatorship, together with Víctor Díaz, Américo Zorrilla, Mario Zamorano and Uldarico Donaire. With the return to democracy, he was one of the main figures who addressed the crisis in the socialist countries and the reconstruction of a project of the revolutionary left. Likewise, he had an active role in the agreements that allowed the return of the PC to Congress in 2010 and promoted the pact that allowed the communists to return to government with President Michelle Bachelet in 2014. The 4 volumes that we present cover a large part of the extensive journalistic and political work of this outstanding leader of the Chilean left. Arranged in chronological sequence, the texts collect the main part of his intellectual elaboration from the 1960s to the beginning of the 21st century (Volumes I, II, III). Volume IV is a selection of the most relevant of his career, facilitating the documentary relationship contained in the previous volumes. Undoubtedly, due to the breadth of the compilation made, the whole of this work will be extremely useful both for specialists in history, and for the consultation of interested parties in general. Finally, the contributions of Isabel Torres and Rolando Álvarez, both historians, help to enhance the meaning of the performance that Jorge Insunza took on.

    Description: Las conversaciones que componen este libro versan sobre la historia, las realidades y las perspectivas del amplio espectro de abordajes que se dedican al estudio del pensamiento y de las ideas. En este afán, se presenta la noción estudios eidéticos, con la cual se perfila una propuesta de reconfiguración del ámbito disciplinar. Buena parte de las conversaciones gira en tomo a precisar en qué consiste o podría consistir esta propuesta, cómo se relacionaría con trayectorias preexistentes, en qué se parecería, y en qué no, a otros enfoques más o menos emparentados, cómo cabría pensar sus vínculos con otras disciplinas. Un punto clave radica en el acento colocado en concebir a estos estudios “más allá” de lo estrictamente historiográfico (sin excluir, desde luego, este nivel), y en la invitación a promover y densificar los intercambios con otras disciplinas -las más próximas y habituales y, también otras, en apariencia más distantes, como la biología, las ciencias cognitivas, la ingeniería.     Description: Existen multiples razones por las cuales un grupo de personas se da a la tarea de escribir un libro. En nuestro caso, “Vivir en tiempos convulsionados: desde reflexiones sociocriticas hacia propuestas para la intervención social”, que es el primer libro producido por el Núcleo de Investigación Sobre las Profesiones en las Sociedades Contemporáneas, de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, responde a un doble interés. Por una parte, en los tiempos políticamente agitados que corren en Chile y Latinoamérica, queremos ser participes de la construcción de las subjetividades con que enfrentaremos el entramado sociocultural y politico futuro. En tal escenario nos interesa problematizar las encrucija- das, oportunidades, interespacios, desafíos, limites, y las fronteras o grietas de la intervención social, desde distintas miradas polidi- mensionales e interdisciplinarias. Por otro lado, con una escritura comprometida con pensamientos sociocriticos, queremos dar voz a las experiencias, logros y desvelos, que profesionales de intervención social directa, o cara a cara, nos han relatado a través de diversas instancias. Su coraje para desafiar la vida en tiempos convulsionados nos ha inspirado para ponernos como meta, en la escritura de cada uno de los capitulos, la elaboración de propuestas vinculadas a la intervención social y a la formación profesional en ciencias sociales, y en particular en Trabajo Social.

    Feminismo y movimiento de mujeres socialistas en la Revolución Rusa (2022)

    Description: A fines del siglo XIX, las socialistas alemanas, como parte del movimiento obrero, adoptaron una política de "separación tajante" de las feministas, como movimiento policlasista, y fijaron la postura de que no existía una única "cuestión de la mujer" sino varias, correspondientes a la necesidades de las mujeres de las principales clases de la sociedad capitalista (la burguesía, la clase media y el proletariado). En términos programáticos, llamaron a abandonar la noción de igualdad en la legislación y a adoptar leyes laborales protectoras del trabajo femenino y de las mujeres embarazadas y lactantes, así como a levantar la bandera del sufragio universal femenino como consigna en torno a la cual podían movilizar y organizar a las mujeres trabajadoras. Esta política se transformó en la línea oficial de la Internacional de Mujeres Socialistas creada en 1907 en Stuttgart, la cual estableció la celebración de un Día Internacional de la Mujer en su segunda conferencia celebrada en Copenhague en 1910. Dicha decisión jugaría un rol crucial en la historia de Rusia. Este trabajo analiza la historia del dichos debates y esfuerzos organizativos que, progresivamente, se fueron transformando en una lucha por el apoyo de las mujeres proletarias entre la principal organización feminista rusa (la Liga por la Igualdad de los Derechos de las Mujeres) y el ala revolucionaria de la socialdemocracia rusa, el Partido Bolchevique.

Por tal motivo, y como resultado de múltiples procesos de formalización o profesionali-zación, nos vemos en la necesidad de tener claridad de los conceptos y diseñar formas posibles de deslindar campos respecto a las importaciones, en muchos casos mecánicas y fuera de lugar, al mismo tiempo que nos llevan a revisar críticamente la forma en que nos vemos y somos vistos. Los términos aquí expuestos buscan dar sentido a una práctica que se viene realizando desde hace muchos años y que necesita ser pensada. No pretenden ser homogéneos ni hegemónicos, sino contribuir a la reflexión de una gestión cultural que cada vez más se perfila como la posibilidad de constituirse en un referente de la acción cultural en Latinoamérica.

    Description: Entre los trabajos que la historiadora Olga Ulianova dejara pendientes al momento de su deceso (2016). los relativos a la serie de documentos Chile en los archivos soviéticos 1922-1991 constituye uno de los ámbitos más prolificos y significativos de su labor disciplinaria. Directa o indirectamente vincula­das a las relaciones internacionales (Consejo Central de los Sindicatos Soviéticos. CCSS; Departamento Internacional del Comité Central del PCUS: Comité Estatal para los vínculos culturales con los países extran­jeros.     Description: The meeting between America and Europe began a first historical period that would extend over three centuries, always marked by the differences between two different ways of understanding the relations of domination between the two. This tension, constantly present and expressed in multiple ways, transports us inexorably to a convulsive beginning of the 19th century. A historical moment marked by the rupture, in capital letters, associated with the fall of the Old Regime, of obsolete models of political, economic and social organization, of archaic ways of thinking and acting. In this context, the disagreement in America had been made clear for quite some time. The emancipation processes came to signify, therefore, the confirmation that the American system was in absolute decline. We believe that the set of contributions that make up this work -precisely because of its heterogeneity, because of its different approaches and because it never abandons the overall perspective- contributes as one more grain of sand to the debate and discussion about our common history, about the difficult times that were lived and that never left us.

    Description: El recorrido al que nos invita Dino Pancani abarca, los escritos que difundió en el diario digital El Mostrador y los más recientes en la sección de columnas de la radio Cooperativa que editaba la periodista Manola Robles, quien nos dejó hace unos meses. La selección de los artículos no es cronológica, tampoco es al azar, sino que tiene una lógica que los lectores vamos comprendiendo en la medida que pasamos las páginas, con la ayuda memoria de los títulos de los diferentes capítulos o secciones. Se trata de una división por grandes temas a los que el autor les dedicó en su momento especial tiempo y atención, por lo que estaba observando con su mirada crítica e inquisitiva o por las reminiscencias que le trajeron. Algunos los vivió como protagonista o testigo. Otros los estudió o sobre ellos se ha detenido a reflexionar hasta hoy. Pero hay algo muy especial en estos escritos. Una interesante mezcla de estilos, casi un híbrido entre la expresión de su pensamiento comprometido y desafiante y el relato rico en descripciones. Entre la columna y la crónica. Entre un periodismo de opinión claro, nítido y fuerte que con argumentos trata de demostrar al lector la validez de su juicio sobre un determinado tema y una crónica atractiva abundante en sustantivos y sobre todo en adjetivos que dan color y vida a lo que expone (del Prólogo de María Olivia Mönckeberg)

After the 1973 coup d'état, he was part of the first clandestine communist leadership that assumed the resistance to the dictatorship, together with Víctor Díaz, Américo Zorrilla, Mario Zamorano and Uldarico Donaire. With the return to democracy, he was one of the main figures who addressed the crisis in the socialist countries and the reconstruction of a project of the revolutionary left. Likewise, he had an active role in the agreements that allowed the return of the PC to Congress in 2010 and promoted the pact that allowed the communists to return to government with President Michelle Bachelet in 2014. The 4 volumes that we present cover a large part of the extensive journalistic and political work of this outstanding leader of the Chilean left. Arranged in chronological sequence, the texts collect the main part of his intellectual elaboration from the 1960s to the beginning of the 21st century (Volumes I, II, III). Volume IV is a selection of the most relevant of his career, facilitating the documentary relationship contained in the previous volumes. Undoubtedly, due to the breadth of the compilation made, the whole of this work will be extremely useful both for specialists in history, and for the consultation of interested parties in general. Finally, the contributions of Isabel Torres and Rolando Álvarez, both historians, help to enhance the meaning of the performance that Jorge Insunza took on.

Ello estuvo dado. en gran medida, por el peso demográfico y cultural de los pueblos indígenas que habitan el territorio y la vitalidad de sus prácticas sociales y políticas. El objetivo general de esta investigatión es dar cuenta de las trayectorias de los discursos sobre las funciones de la educaciôn para los pueblos indigenas a través de la lectura critica de materiales producidos desde la enunciación auto adscrita como indíigena -individual y colectiva- y la enunciación del Estado a través de las reformas educativas de 1955.1994 y 2010. La exploración procurará develar las interrelaciones entre estos debates, las negociaciones y articulaciones generadas.

    Description: El Partido Demócrata Cristiano ha sido una pieza clave en la más general inserción de la política chilena en las grandes tendencias político-ideológicas que dominaron la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Durante el siglo pasado las relaciones entre adores políticos externos y chilenos se enmarcaron en el contexto de grandes procesos y disyuntivas de relevancia mundial: la Guerra Fría y la más general competencia entre proyectos sociales holísticos, la emergente preocupación por los derechos humanos, la experiencia de las transiciones post dictatoriales en Europa Meridional, entre otros. Estos actores externos Jugaron un papel muy relevante en Impulsar la estrategia política de salida do la dictadura chilena que, al converger con factores internos, tuvieron un impacto importante en determinar los lineamientos de la transición. Los adores políticos locales, como el PDC, lejos de ser piezas en manos de referentes externos, tuvieron un papel protagónico, usando sus redes internacionales para afianzar y consolidar su proyecto político. A diferencia de otros trabajos que han abordado la dimensión internacional de la transición, el foco de este libro no son los aspectos económicos, ni los ideológicos, sino más bien la centralidad política de un ador, el Partido Demócrata Cristiano, y la capacidad que éste tuvo de consolidar a nivel internacional su posición de referente para el retorno a la democracla en Chile.

This research does not consist of the historical unfolding of the course followed by Argentine society throughout the period considered, as a process whose unity is given simply by dealing with the same national scope. On the contrary, its course has as its axis the evidence of the features that this historical development presents as expressions of the existence of a specific determination of the form that the Argentine national process of capital accumulation takes.

    Description: This book suggests the importance of examining alternative discourses in the social sciences, in this case economics, beyond western-centric cultural milieu. The account attempts to unveil the existence of a post Second World War economic approach developed in Latin America. The perspective questioned the dominant economic science disseminated within and outside the Anglo-Saxon or Eurocentric countries (western-centric academia) during the 1950´s. Today, after the appalling cataclysms in welfare and equality generated by neoclassical economics, an alternative economics seems order in the Northern and Southern hemisphere. The rebirth of Latin American Structuralism within the developing countries, and the widely publicized names of Raúl Prebisch, Celso Furtado among others, within the western-centric audiences requires an up to date of the vocabulary and concepts. Retrospectively these authors discussed can be examined as the original sources in Latin America among those who developed the basis of decolonial thought. The book problematizes the domestication of Latin American Structuralism in the Northern or Southern hemisphere alike and discusses its potential similarities to Post-Keynesian perspectives related to power asymmetries among countries, firms, and heterogenous agents.

    Description: This work reconstructs the political-intellectual trajectory of the Socialist Party of Chile between 1932 and 1973, reviewing its emergence and development in national political life through key moments for the development of party reflection. As stated in its pages, these moments frequently exceeded the limits of party life, being linked to events and processes typical of the global, continental and national political development of the 20th century. It is argued that during the period in question there were a series of debates that accounted for different stages in the organizational, social and intellectual development of contemporary Chilean socialism. These debates were framed in three key concepts that were frequently discussed throughout the trajectory: class, anti-imperialism and revolution. At different times, and with different meanings, the trends defined themselves and their organization as class, anti-imperialist and revolutionary, without there being a consensus on the political and programmatic scope of these definitions.

    Description: The volume that the reader has in his hands (or on his screen) constitutes a selection of the studies presented at the international congress “1820. The Illusion of Freedom. Revolutionary liberalism in Spain and America in the 1920s ”, held in Las Cabezas de San Juan and Seville in March 2020, as a way to reflect (and celebrate, of course) the bicentennial of the revolution that began the so-called Liberal Triennium Spanish. The anniversary functioned as an excuse to analyze relevant problems of the present. In this case, the congress returned to the links between a stagnant society, which had nothing else to offer, and one of the most important revolutions that took place in the Iberian Peninsula. This was done through the presentation of a set of investigations that addressed the economic, political, social and cultural aspects of the Spanish revolution of 1820, and that crossed the Ibero-American world in the first half of the 19th century. It was a collective effort, which we hope we have embodied in this compilation.

    Description: The Christian Democratic Party has been a key piece in the more general insertion of Chilean politics in the great political-ideological trends that dominated the second half of the 20th century. During the past century, relations between external and Chilean political actors were framed in the context of great processes and dilemmas of global relevance: the Cold War and the more general competition between holistic social projects, the emerging concern for human rights, the experience of post-dictatorial transitions in Southern Europe, among others. These external actors played a very relevant role in promoting the political exit strategy from the Chilean dictatorship which, by converging with internal factors, had an important impact in determining the guidelines of the transition. Local political actors, such as the PDC, far from being pieces in the hands of external referents, played a leading role, using their international networks to consolidate and consolidate their political project. Unlike other works that have addressed the international dimension of the transition, the focus of this book is not the economic or the ideological aspects, but rather the political centrality of an actor, the Christian Democratic Party, and the capacity that it it had to consolidate at the international level its position of reference for the return to democracy in Chile.

In this paper we comparatively investigate the debates on imperialism of two of its most important parties, the German (SPD) and French (SFIO) Social Democracy. We inquire into his analysis of European colonial expansion, the causes of imperialism, and the prospects for a war between the powers. In turn, we examine their political action around these issues and the positions on imperialism of their main internal tendencies, weighing their impact on party politics. Both organizations debated and positioned themselves on these issues within the framework of an agitated political situation marked by wars of conquest, episodes of rebellion in the colonies and various war crises between European states. The contradictory development of these debates is an important factor in explaining the different reactions in these parties to the First World War and the subsequent split of international socialism between communists and reformists.

    Description: The following work proposes an overview of what we could consider as one of the guiding problems for Latin American reflection in the first half of the 20th century (and, as argued in the same chapter, throughout the development of the Latin American thought): the question of authenticity. I know It deals with a problem in which José Gaos played a fundamental role; not only for wondering from his residence in Mexico about what (Latin) American of our philosophical tradition, but because he was the teacher trainer of the following generations that assumed as a cultural task the question of a properly Latin American philosophy-Highlighting the figure of Leopoldo Zea.     Description: This book deals with the historical development of a group of four Spanish adjectives and adverbs: preciso / precisamente, justo / justamente, exacto / exactamente and cabal / cabalmente. Based on large historical corpus data-samples, this study combines quantitative and qualitative analysis with semasiological and onomasiological approaches and its focus lies on the diachronic development of three discourse functions (focussing, affirmation and reformulation). The results are discussed with reference to current theories of language change (grammaticalization, pragmaticalization, thetical grammar and cooptation) and explanatory factors such as analogy and changes in frequency.
    Description: Anhand einer historischen Korpusanalyse werden die spanischen Adjektiv-Adverb-Paare justo / justamente, cabal / cabalmente, preciso / precisamente y exacto / exactamente aus semasiologischer sowie onomasiologischer Perspektive analysiert.
