    Description: "Durante l’infanzia e l’adolescenza il nostro corpo è soggetto a grandi trasformazioni che, in particolare durante la pubertà, possono essere improvvise e repentine. I fattori che determinano la crescita somatica, le variazioni della composizione corporea e i ritmi della maturazione fisica sono sia genetici, dunque associati ai caratteri ereditari, sia ambientali, legati alla qualità dell’alimentazione, all’inquinamento e agli stili di vita. Questo studio si focalizza sulla relazione tra crescita dei ragazzi in età scolare, abitudini alimentari, propensione alla pratica motoria e sportiva e fattori socio-economici. Ne emerge un quadro interpretativo estremamente utile, anche alla luce dell’esiguità di ricerche di questo genere nel panorama italiano. Federico Spiga è Dottore di ricerca in Scienze dello sviluppo e del movimento umano presso la Scuola di Farmacia, Biotecnologie e Scienze Motorie dell’Università di Bologna. Docente di Antropometria ed Ergonomia presso l’Università di Bologna, è autore di pubblicazioni relative allo studio della composizione corporea e alla percezione dell’immagine corporea in relazione all’età, al genere, al gruppo etnico di appartenenza, all’attività fisica e allo stile di vita."

    Description: Virtual skeletal anthropology is of interest for research, education, and communication, particularly in the museum setting. Through images, movies and text, this contribution illustrates the actions and tools required for the creation of 3-D skull models using ultra close range digital photogrammetry (UCR-DP) technique. The procedure is used in the Skeletal Anthropology Laboratory associated with the Sardinian Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography of the University of Cagliari and involves the realization of some steps in cloud mode, freely accessible for study purposes. The protocol is designed for the skull, but can be modified should it be applied to other artifacts (e.g., long bones).     Description: Such terms as “metadata”, “web strategies”, “interoperability” are commonly used whenever the perspectives of cultural heritage memories on the web are investigated. The risk that well-established methods of preserving and publishing the output of intellectual and artistic activities could hinder data exchange procedures as well as making the creation of multidisciplinary discovery systems required for carrying out reasearch – even in the humanities – is under assessment. The earliest projects adopted the same electronic format and cataloguing rules shared among classes of items of quite a different nature. Far from being the ideal solution, it has fuelled an animated world-wide debate. Nonetheless, thanks to this strategy North American institutions have created in just over a decade those massive digital archives which are the backbone of American Memory. In the meanwhile research on interoperability was carried out with the purpose of creating cross-domain linking devices and more powerful search tools. The latter should be the basis of networks aimed at fittingly supporting reaserch in the fields of historical and bibliographic studies.

    Description: The research, conducted on a sample of 822 preschool, primary and secondary school teachers in the Sardinian regional territory, aims to investigate risk factors (resistance to change, sexism, traditionalist attitude in parenting) and protective factors (perceived self-efficacy, social and moral norms regarding gender equality, positive attitude toward gender diversity) in the adoption of inclusive teaching practices. Standardized self-report survey instruments are used, administered via an online platform during March-May 2022. Relationships between variables were investigated by bivariate correlation analysis, linear regression and mediation models. The results allow for evidence of a significant relationship between self-efficacy, teachers' moral norms, and adoption of inclusive educational practices, but these relationships are negatively mediated by resistance to change (fear and stress in the affective component, protests and objections against change toward equality).

    Description: La ricerca, condotta su un campione di 822 insegnanti delle scuole dell'infanzia, primaria e scuola secondaria di primo grado del territorio regionale sardo, ha l'obiettivo di indagare fattori di rischio (resistenza al cambiamento, sessismo, atteggiamento tradizionalista nell'educazione genitoriale) e fattori protettivi (percezione di autoefficacia, norme sociali e morali riguardo la parità di genere, atteggiamento positivo verso la diversità di genere) nell'adozione delle pratiche di didattica inclusiva. Sono utilizzati strumenti di indagine self report standardizzati, somministrati tramite piattaforma online nel periodo marzo-maggio 2022. Le relazioni tra le variabili sono state indagate tramite un'analisi di correlazione bivariata, regressione lineare e modelli di mediazione. I risultati permettono di evidenziare una relazione significativa tra autoefficacia, norme morali delle insegnanti e adozione delle pratiche educative inclusive, ma queste relazioni sono negativamente mediate dalla resistenza al cambiamento (paura e stress nella componente affettiva, proteste e obiezioni contro il cambiamento verso la parità).

    Description: The conception of sustainability, in land governance, goes beyond environmental protection in that, beyond the environmental profile, it includes the economic and social profile. It therefore highlights the need to make the requirements of economic development compatible with those of natural resource protection, equity and social progress. With this in mind, the Region of Sardinia has approved the Regional Strategy for Sustainable Development (SRSvS), as a declination of the National Strategy, consistent with the United Nations 2030 Agenda. This volume presents and discusses the results of the research developed during the SOSLabs Research Laboratory of the SOSLabs1 Project, conducted, at the University of Cagliari, under the call issued in 2019 by the Directorate General for Sustainable Development, Environmental Damage and Relations with the European Union of the then Ministry of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea (now the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security). The outcomes are based on a methodological approach that integrates SRSvS into the practice of spatial and urban planning in the municipal and metropolitan context, through a model in which plan construction is permeated by assessment. Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) is taken as the scientific and technical reference, by virtue of its being deeply innervated in the plan process, almost identifying itself with the plan itself, both in the preparatory and implementation phases. The methodology of integrating SRSvS into the planning and evaluation process is applied, experimentally, to two urban plans: the Preliminary Municipal Plan of the Municipality of Cagliari and the Plan of the Tepilora Regional Nature Park.

    Description: La concezione della sostenibilità, nel governo del territorio, va oltre la tutela dell’ambiente in quanto, oltre il profilo ambientale, include quelli economici e sociali. Si evidenzia, quindi, la necessità di rendere compatibili le esigenze dello sviluppo economico con quelle della tutela delle risorse naturali, e dell’equità e del progresso sociale. In quest’ottica, la Regione Sardegna ha approvato la Strategia regionale per lo sviluppo sostenibile (SRSvS), quale declinazione della Strategia nazionale, in coerenza con l’Agenda 2030 delle Nazioni Unite. Il volume presenta e discute i risultati di una ricerca sviluppata durante lo svolgimento del Laboratorio di ricercaazione SOSLab1 del Progetto SOSLabs, condotto, presso l’Università di Cagliari, nell’ambito del bando emanato nel 2019 dalla Direzione Generale per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile, per il Danno Ambientale e per i Rapporti con l’Unione Europea dell’allora Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Tutela del territorio e del mare (oggi Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Sicurezza energetica). Gli esiti si basano su un approccio metodologico che integra la SRSvS nella prassi della pianificazione territoriale e urbanistica nel contesto comunale e metropolitano, tramite un modello in cui la costruzione del piano è permeata dalla valutazione. Si assume quale riferimento scientifico e tecnico la valutazione ambientale strategica (VAS), in virtù del suo essere profondamente innervata nel processo di piano, quasi ad identificarsi con il piano stesso, sia nelle fasi preparatorie, che attuative. La metodologia di integrazione della SRSvS nel processo di pianificazione e valutazione è applicata, sperimentalmente, a due piani urbanistici: il Piano urbanistico comunale preliminare del Comune di Cagliari e il Piano del Parco naturale regionale di Tepilora.

    Smart city tra competitività urbana e vocazione turistica (2023)

    Description: The interest in urban tourism has been topical in the field of socio-geographical studies since 1980. However, already early studies tended to separate scholars involved in tourism and those in urban planning. This division is not logic given that the World Tourism Organization in the Economic Review of World Tourism reported in the 1970s the growing demand for tourist destinations in cities. Nonetheless, a real contribution from scientific research to the issues arisen by tourism on the cities’ organization has been achieved yet. The study does not aim to fill this gap but does encourage the analysis of tourism as an integrated phenomenon in the process of governing urban and territorial transformations It is no longer an external force but a part of the everyday urban activity. . The separation between “the place of work” (city) and the “place of leisure” (outside the city) has characterized the approaches of tourism research for the last thirty years. Based on this theoretical framework, this monograph illustrates the recent evolutions of tourism in its relationship with cities, confronting the challenges faced by cities, revisiting the Smart City paradigm applied to the tourist destination. It also presents an insightful perspective on the lights and shadows of urban tourism.

    Description: L’interesse per il turismo urbano, soprattutto nell’ambito degli studi di matrice socio-geografica, risale alla seconda metà del secolo scorso. Tuttavia, già nei primi lavori scientifici si evidenziava una separazione tra chi si occupava di turismo senza considerare la città e viceversa. Lo studio presentato in questo volume analizza il turismo quale fenomeno integrato nel processo di trasformazione della città. Rivisitando il paradigma della Smart City applicato alla destinazione turistica, il lavoro si pone l’obiettivo di evidenziare luci ed ombre della relazione turismo-città nell’ottica della competitività urbana.

    Description: In the academic world, teaching is an educational experience that is not limited to the transfer of knowledge alone, but integrates with laboratory activities, especially in the training of building engineer or building-architect. In this way, each student has the opportunity to measure their aptitudes for design. The projects of socio-parish complexes, developed in the academic year 2021-2022, by the students of the Technical Architecture course, enrolled in the second year of the Building Engineering degree course at the University of Naples Federico II, are reported in this book. This work provides the opportunity to formulate reflections on laboratory teaching, in which the project is presented as a challenge launched by the teacher, shared by the tutors and taken up by the students. This "formative moment" was a strong, meaningful and engaging experience, until it converged into an exhibition set up at the parish of San Vitale Martire in Fuorigrotta, on 28 and 29 May 2022, on the occasion of the Festa dell'Approdo di San Paul. To the gratification of all the authors, the possibility of the citizens of the entire district of Fuorigrotta was added, the academic work taking it outside the university environments.

    Description: La didattica nella realtà accademica è un’esperienza formativa che non si limita al trasferimento di conoscenze, ma, specialmente nella formazione dell’ingegnere edile o edile-architetto, si integra con la cosiddetta didattica laboratoriale, in cui ogni studente ha l’occasione di misurare le proprie attitudini alla progettazione. Questo lavoro, nel raccogliere progetti di complessi socio-parrocchiali, sviluppati dagli allievi della cattedra di Architettura Tecnica, iscritti al secondo anno del corso di laurea Ingegneria Edile-Architettura dell’Università di Napoli Federico II, nell’anno accademico 2021-2022, fornisce l’occasione di formulare riflessioni sulla didattica laboratoriale, in cui il progetto si pone come una vera e propria sfida lanciata dal docente, condivisa dai tutor e raccolta dagli allievi. Questo “momento formativo” è stata un’esperienza forte, pregnante e coinvolgente, fino a confluire in una mostra allestita presso la parrocchia di San Vitale Martire a Fuorigrotta ,nei giorni 28 e 29 maggio 2022, in occasione della Festa dell’Approdo di San Paolo. Alla gratificazione di tutti gli attori, si è aggiunta la possibilità di condividere con i cittadini dell’intera circoscrizione di Fuorigrotta, il lavoro accademico portandolo fuori dalle mura dell’Università.

    Description: The volume collects the results of the Final Synthesis Laboratory coordinated by prof. Marella Santangelo, held in the academic year 2019/2020 as part of the fifth year of the DiARC degree course in Architecture of the University of Naples "Federico II". The students were confronted with the project of new spaces for the Secondigliano detention center in Naples. The laboratory was a space for experimentation around a complex architecture, with the aim of improving the quality of the places where the life of the prisoners takes place, but also of the different users of the prison building. In the first part, the teachers of the laboratory describe the way in which each discipline contributed to the development of the proposed theme. The second part presents the projects developed by the students recognizing three fundamental issues for the project of the spaces of the sentence: the knowledge of the functioning of the prison and its context, the way in which the architectural project can restore a public dimension to the Detention Center and finally, the importance of the spaces dedicated to the emotional relationships between prisoners and free people. The third part collects the contributions of personalities related to the prison world who interacted with the students during the course.

    Description: Il volume restituisce gli esiti del Laboratorio di Sintesi Finale coordinato dalla prof. Marella Santangelo, svoltosi nell’anno accademico 2019/2020 nell’ambito del quinto anno del corso di Laurea magistrale in Architettura del DiARC dell’Università degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II”. Gli studenti si sono confrontati con il progetto di nuovi spazi per il centro penitenziario di Secondigliano a Napoli. Il laboratorio è stato uno spazio di sperimentazione intorno a un’architettura complessa, con l’obiettivo del miglioramento della qualità dei luoghi dove si svolge la vita dei detenuti, ma anche dei diversi utenti dell’edificio carcere. Nella prima parte i docenti del laboratorio descrivono il modo in cui ogni disciplina ha contribuito allo svolgimento del tema proposto. La seconda parte presenta i progetti sviluppati dagli studenti riconoscendo tre questioni fondamentali per il progetto degli spazi della pena: la conoscenza del funzionamento del carcere e del suo contesto, il modo in cui il progetto di architettura può restituire una dimensione pubblica all’Istituto Penitenziario e, infine, l’importanza degli spazi dedicati alle relazioni affettive tra detenuti e persone libere. La terza parte raccoglie i contributi di personalità legate al mondo del carcere che hanno interagito con gli studenti durante il corso.

    Description: Paolo Panceri (Milan 1836 - Naples 1877) was one of the most appreciated naturalists of his time. Above all, his research on the luminescence of marine animals made him famous throughout the world. When in 1860 he won the competition for the chair of Comparative Anatomy, newly established in Italy, he preferred the University of Naples to those of Pavia and Bologna. In Naples, his "second homeland", he founded the Museum of Comparative Anatomy and helped, although not a Darwinist, Darwin's follower Anton Dohrn to obtain from the Municipality the land of the Royal Villa, on which the building of the Zoological Station would be built and finally inaugurated in 1875. When he died prematurely, his friend and colleague Emilio Cornalia remembered him with these words: «Tall in person, with brown eyes and hair, with a sweet and insinuating speech, with a reserved and modest demeanor, with a smile on his lips, he was one of those nice men who make themselves immediately understood and loved, and who so rarely meet in the human crowd." This volume retraces Panceri's life: his youthful education in Milan, his studies and early research in Pavia, his relationships with Naples, his friendships inside and outside the academic world, his troubled sentimental affairs, the two trips he made to Egypt over the years 1872-1874.

    Description: Paolo Panceri (Milano 1836 - Napoli 1877) fu uno dei più apprezzati naturalisti del suo tempo. Soprattutto le sue ricerche sulla luminescenza degli animali marini lo resero famoso in tutto il mondo. Quando nel 1860 vinse il concorso per la cattedra di Anatomia comparata, appena istituita in Italia, preferì l’Università di Napoli a quelle di Pavia e Bologna. A Napoli, sua «seconda patria», fondò il Museo di Anatomia comparata e aiutò, benché non darwinista, il seguace di Darwin Anton Dohrn a ottenere dal Comune i terreni della Villa reale, sui quali sarebbe sorto l’edificio della Stazione zoologica, inaugurata nel 1875. Quando morì prematuramente, il suo amico e collega Emilio Cornalia lo ricordò con queste parole: «Alto nella persona, dagli occhi e dai capelli bruni, dalla parola dolce e insinuante, dal contegno riserbato e modesto, dal sorriso sulle labbra, era uno di quei simpatici uomini che si fanno subito comprendere ed amare, e che tanto di rado si incontrano nella folla umana». Questo volume ripercorre la vita di Panceri: la formazione giovanile a Milano, gli studi e le prime ricerche a Pavia, i rapporti con Napoli, le amicizie dentro e fuori il mondo accademico, le tribolate vicende sentimentali, i due viaggi compiuti in Egitto negli anni 1872-1874.

    Description: Quantunque la riflessione sull’importanza di perseguire gli obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile si sia ampliata e potenziata in epoca relativamente recente, da ben più tempo le tradizioni religiose nello sviluppo plurisecolare delle loro dottrine e prassi, ciascuna secondo il proprio peculiare ordine assiologico, promuovono i valori che presiedono alla cura del creato, alla dignità della persona, al bene comune. Il contributo che le religioni possono offrire agli obiettivi dell’Agenda 2030 delle Nazioni Unite coinvolge non solo il piano pratico, ma soprattutto quello di comprensione critica, nel senso di offrire motivazioni forti per una presa di coscienza seria e un coinvolgimento autentico, per dare sostanza e sostegno etico e spirituale a un nuovo modello culturale di sviluppo integrale che promuova nella complessità degli aspetti ecologici e antropologici, e quindi anche religiosi, il rispetto di tutti gli esseri viventi; lo sfruttamento responsabile delle risorse naturali; il consolidamento di relazioni sociali improntate alla solidarietà, all’inclusione e alla promozione delle persone; l’impostazione dei rapporti produttivi e commerciali secondo modalità autenticamente umane. Il rapporto tra religioni e sviluppo sostenibile viene analizzato in merito a tre ambiti del programma d’azione: “Ambiente e alimentazione (obiettivi 2, 12 e 15 Agenda ONU 2030)”; “Comunità umane solidali e inclusive (obiettivi 4, 10, 11 e 16 Agenda ONU 2030)”; “Vita umana, lavoro e sviluppo tecnologico (obiettivi 3, 8 e 9 Agenda ONU 2030)”. Per ogni settore sono individuati alcuni obiettivi strategici e su questi traguardi riflettono, in primo luogo gli esperti sotto il profilo scientifico, per illustrare il significato e i contenuti dei singoli obiettivi, e in secondo luogo gli studiosi o i rappresentanti delle diverse tradizioni religiose, per precisare il valore attribuito a questi obiettivi dalla dottrina confessionale e sottolineare il contributo che intende dare per la loro promozione.

    Description: Cinquecento anni fa le persone vivevano in un mondo popolato di spiriti, sia buoni che malvagi: demoni e spiriti della foresta e del deserto, ma anche entità che minacciavano la vita quotidiana. Numerose erano anche le entità presenti sul fronte opposto, dominato da Dio, ma popolato da un’infinità di santi, spiriti benevoli, esseri protettori, e così via, che mescolavano disinvoltamente, soprattutto nel mondo popolare delle campagne, temi della religione cristiana dominante con elementi che traevano la loro origine dalle forme religiose pre-cristiane. I carnevali nascono in questo mondo e ne costituiscono parte integrante. Essi rivelano una concezione secondo la quale l’ordine sociale tiene a bada un caos primordiale, che costituisce sia il suo avversario sia la fonte di ogni energia. Lo sforzo necessario per tenere a bada il disordine e mantenere l’ordine della società umana era destinato ad estenuarsi, qualora tale ordine non venisse periodicamente immerso nuovamente nelle energie primordiali del caos per riemergere con forza rinnovata. I carnevali esprimevano tale concezione di un equilibrio precario che doveva essere periodicamente sconvolto e al tempo stesso ritemprato dall’irrompere delle forze del disordine. Nasce così il progetto che sta alla base di questo lavoro: il tentativo di costruire un percorso a ritroso, che porta ad attraversare tempi e civiltà del passato, alla ricerca di una genealogia dei motivi mitici e simbolici che sono identificabili nel sistema delle feste carnevalesche, ma che rivelano una serie di connessioni con molteplici aspetti del passato. Un esercizio di regressione attraverso il tempo, osservando come quei motivi si sono trasformati nel corso delle epoche e delle civiltà, che rivela trasformazioni e continuità, un intreccio complesso di somiglianze e di differenze.

    Description: This volume offers an insight into the relationship between Ernst Cassirer and modern philosophy through the comparison with three emblematic figures of the philosophical horizon of the seventeenth-century: Descartes, Spinoza and Leibniz. This Cassirerian itinerary in the “spirit of the modern” is traced through the collection of three texts of Cassirer's production, two of which are translated into Italian for the first time. In these writings the author deals with the philosophical impact of Descartes' teaching on Queen Christina of Sweden, with the analysis of Spinoza's notion of nature and with Leibniz's Discourse on Metaphysics. The three texts represent some of the most brilliant and insightful research that would lead the author to the development of the philosophy of culture.

    Description: Il presente volume offre uno spaccato sul rapporto tra Ernst Cassirer e il pensiero moderno sulla scorta del confronto con tre figure emblematiche del panorama filosofico seicentesco: Cartesio, Spinoza e Leibniz. Questo itinerario cassireriano nello “spirito del moderno” è tracciato mediante la raccolta di tre testi della produzione del filosofo di Breslau, di cui due per la prima volta in traduzione italiana, in cui Cassirer si misura con l’impatto filosofico dell’insegnamento cartesiano sulla regina Cristina di Svezia, con la nozione spinoziana di natura e, infine, con la lettura del Discorso di metafisica di Leibniz. Tali scritti sono tra le più brillanti e approfondite ricerche che porteranno l’autore allo sviluppo della filosofia della cultura.

    Description: The dominant vision in our societies seems to conceive of life as a capital with which each individual would be endowed, as a collection of credits and skills that must be enhanced to produce performances characterized by ever greater speed, impact, and efficiency. Everything seems designed to increase a life of which we would be the masters, whose progress or regression can be evaluated according to quantitative criteria, in order to compare different lives and obtain the best possible selection. Thus, techniques are spreading everywhere that aim to enhance life, to make it more productive, while companies and institutions profit from every aspect of it. A frenzy that turns into its opposite, into a paradoxical sacrifice of life, into the loss of democratic control, of planning that looks to the future – as the pandemic and the war in Ukraine show us, revealing the limits of enhancement practices, the fragility of life, the inextricable connection between our lives, their belonging to a larger life of the species. If these events are the result of the ways in which life has been instituted, then, in these times when all of humanity is faced with health, war, and ecological challenges, the ‘phenomenon life’ should perhaps be rethought at its root, as an encounter rather than a competition, as recognition, as a communication.

    Description: La visione dominante nelle nostre società sembra intendere la vita come un capitale di cui ogni individuo sarebbe dotato, collezione di crediti e skill che deve essere valorizzata per produrre performance caratterizzate da sempre maggiore rapidità, impatto, efficienza. Tutto sembra pensato per incrementare una vita di cui noi saremmo padroni, i cui progressi o regressi possono essere valutati secondo criteri quantitativi, per poter comparare le differenti vite e ottenere la migliore selezione possibile. Così si diffondono ovunque tecniche che si propongono di potenziare la vita, di renderla maggiormente produttiva, mentre imprese e istituzioni ne mettono a profitto ogni aspetto. Una frenesia che si rovescia nel suo contrario, in un paradossale sacrificio della vita, nella perdita di un controllo democratico, di una pianificazione che guarda al futuro. Come ci dimostrano la pandemia e la Guerra in Ucraina, che hanno rivelato i limiti delle pratiche di potenziamento, la fragilità della vita, la connessione inestricabile fra le nostre vite, la loro co-appartenenza a una più grande vita della specie. Se questi eventi sono il frutto delle modalità in cui la vita è stata istituita, allora, in questi tempi in cui tutta l’umanità è messa di fronte a sfide di carattere sanitario, bellico, ecologico, il fenomeno vita va forse ripensato alla radice, come incontro più che come competizione, come riconoscimento, comunicazione.

Questi articoli verranno successivamente indicati come i primi tre capitoli della «filosofia teoretica» e costituiscono il primo passo, l’impetus di un intero sistema della metafisica, rivolto a coloro che esigono il rigore del pensiero e sono capaci di uno sguardo intellettuale o speculativo.     Description: This study examines young Simmel’s reflections on social-historical knowledge and philosophy of history. I compare these reflections to three models of post-Hegelian thought: Moritz Lazarus and Heymann Steinthal’s Völkerpsychologie, Wilhelm Dilthey’s Historismus, and Wilhelm Windelband’s Neo-Kantianism. From different perspectives, these three authors tried to justify a scientific approach to cultural and social phenomena, considering the speculative philosophy of history obsolete because it was overtaken by the development of particular sciences since the early 19th century. Even if the old speculative philosophy of history had collapsed, the rejection of metaphysics’ legacy proved to be a challenging task. This legacy reappears in the post-Hegelian models of thought, showing how the philosophy of history (which seemed to be dead) still expresses the human need for meaning. A human need that urges to find expression. Simmel’s work, “The Problems of Philosophy of History” (1892), examines the persistence of the philosophy of history and its changing function. Philosophy of history no longer represents the story of a guaranteed salvation but expresses philosophically the problems that are constantly renewed by the people who live history.

    Description: Questo studio è dedicato alle riflessioni del giovane Georg Simmel (1858-1918) sulla conoscenza storico-sociale e sulla filosofia della storia, rapportandole a tre modelli del pensiero post-hegeliano: la Völkerpsychologie di Moritz Lazarus e Heymann Steinthal; l’Historismus di Wilhelm Dilthey e il neokantismo di Wilhelm Windelband. Questi autori avevano cercato di giustificare una trattazione scientifica dei fenomeni culturali e sociali da prospettive diverse, considerando la filosofia della storia speculativa superata dal rigoglioso sviluppo delle scienze particolari che si era prodotto dall’inizio del XIX secolo. Ma anche se la vecchia filosofia della storia di stampo speculativo era ormai crollata, il pieno congedo dall’eredità della metafisica restava ancora un compito difficile da assolvere. Quest’eredità riemerge nei grandi modelli della riflessione post-hegeliana, dimostrando quanto la filosofia della storia sbrigativamente data per morta continui a esprimere un bisogno umano di senso che chiede di giungere a espressione. Sotto questa luce, l’opera di Simmel dedicata a I problemi della filosofia della storia (1892) appare come un’indagine sulla persistenza della filosofia della storia e sul suo mutamento di funzione. Quest’ultima non è più la narrazione di una salvezza garantita, ma l’espressione filosofica di problemi che gli esseri umani viventi nella storia continuamente rinnovano.

    Description: During an era in which the main form of recognition would seem to be entrusted to the screen, Jean Baudrillard’s reflections offer extremely useful interpretative tools to understand the neo-existence of the screened individual. According to the French philosopher, the simulation, as a codification of entities in a data flow, can be interpreted as a informatic potlatch, a ritual shortcircuit, fueled by the consumption of bits as the ultimate guarantee of persistence. This practice would envelop the entire society in a claustrophobic suspension, smoothing out any possibility of contact, bringing out the user as a transmission channel of an empty signifier: the digital code. The surface of the screen, exposing a sort of ontological indigestion between the individual and his digital projection, would find its own matrix in the intersection between the metaphysical problem and the political question through the figure of the hostage. The screen-society, from the shining call to entertainment, would turn upside down in a saving form of disappearance, reconfiguring a world in which the antiquated shadows of reality would have sharpened into ghosts that had become more real than reality, hyperreal. Precisely starting from this fissure, from this mingling of virtuality and reality, that seems to emerge the urgency of a thought that, as Baudrillard wanted, can transmit the resistance of an elusive singularity.

    Description: In un’epoca in cui la principale forma di riconoscimento sembrerebbe demandata allo schermo, le riflessioni di Jean Baudrillard offrono strumenti interpretativi quanto mai utili per tentare di comprendere la neo-esistenza dell’individuo schermato. Secondo il filosofo francese, la simulazione, in quanto ritrascrizione degli enti in un flusso di dati, sarebbe assimilabile ad una sorta di potlatch informatico, un cortocircuito rituale, alimentato dal consumo di bits quale ultima garanzia di persistenza. Tale pratica avvolgerebbe l’intera società in una sospensione claustrofobica, levigandone ogni possibilità di contatto, facendo riemergere l’user come canale di trasmissione di un significante privo di significato: il codice digitale. Ecco allora che la superficie dello schermo, esponendo una sorta di indigestione ontologica tra l’individuo e la sua proiezione digitale, rinverrebbe la propria matrice nell’intersezione tra il versante metafisico e il versante politico attraverso la figura dell’ostaggio. Lo schermo-società, da lustro richiamo alla distensione e all’intrattenimento, si capovolgerebbe in salvifica forma di scomparsa, riconfigurando un mondo in cui le antiquate ombre della realtà si sarebbero acuite in fantasmi divenuti più reali del reale, iperreali. Ed è a partire da questa fenditura, da questa commistione tra virtuale e reale, che verrebbe a porsi l’urgenza di un pensiero che, come voleva Baudrillard, possa farsi messaggero della resistenza di una singolarità inafferrabile.

It gathers critical essays on the Hegelian masterpiece and studies on Hegel’s influences on authors such as Marx, Gentile, Heidegger, Kojève, Paci, Lacan and Brandom. These contributions investigate some categorical nodes that have marked ensuing ethical, theoretical, philosophical-political and later psychoanalytic reflections: dialectic, culture, negation, desire, body, phenomenon, recognition. Therefore, this collection does not intend to mark a specific interpretation of the Hegelian text. Rather, the authors share the effort to illustrate in actu exercito the possibilities given by these two extremes – the text and its interpretation – in which later philosophical culture has moved. Through this movement the Phenomenology of the spirit continues to produce Philosophy, intended as an opportunity and an instrument for the understanding of "one's own time with thought".     Description: This study of Christoph Sigwart's (1830-1904) most ambitious philosophical work focuses on a model of transcendental logic. A model that does not conform to the Kantian one because it renounces attributing universality and necessity to the laws that establish a priori the transcendental conditions of knowledge. This model entails a different meaning of "transcendental" and "a priori" free of the need for special epistemic status. Woven into the very contingency that marks the results of empirical sciences, the ensuing logic of knowledge can provide an adequate critique of the mobility of these results. The choice to explore this possibility in the form of an analysis of Sigwart's Logik (1904) is motivated by the conviction that this work, freed from the constraints of the 20th-century debate, can offer an alternative to the dismissal of the project of a transcendental epistemology. But the Logik is also an access to the lively German post-Kantian laboratory that, at the turn of the twentieth century, produced a model of scientific philosophy that profoundly influenced the following epistemological debate. Hence, this study also aims to introduce the reader to the main epistemological issues addressed by Sigwart and the Kantian tradition to which Sigwart belongs.

La scelta di esplorare questa possibilità proprio attraverso un'analisi della Logik (1904) è motivata dalla convinzione che questo lavoro, smarcato dalle pastoie del Novecento, sia in grado di offrire, oggi, un'alternativa alla dismissione del progetto di un'epistemologia in prospettiva trascendentale. Ma quest'opera è anche un accesso dimenticato al vivace laboratorio postkantiano che, nella Germania a cavallo tra XIX e XX secolo, produce un modello di filosofia scientifica che ha influenzato profondamente il successivo dibattito epistemologico. Questo studio si propone, quindi, anche di introdurre il lettore ai principali temi epistemologici affrontati da Sigwart e dalla tradizione kantiana a cui Sigwart appartiene.

    Description: As is well-known to the scholars of European philosophical thinking between the eighteenth and twentieth centuries, the great and ambitious plan of diltheyan criticism of the reason of history condensed in a pond-pink Introduction to the Human Sciences appeared in 1883 only the first volume especially the first two Books. The volume, which we present here, encloses in chronological order the various drafts which, as early as 1880, Dilthey made the work of the second volume of the work, which would have to contain the other four Books, the dedicated ones to the gnoseological, logical and methodological aspects of the philosophical foundation of the so-called sciences of the spirit. An absorbing commitment, which Dilthey will pursue throughout his scientific life, without saving power, will cost him a little in terms of psycho-physical health. In addition to the volume, which besides Breslau drafts also contains the famous Berlin Plan dating back to the early nineties, we also thought it appropriate to include the two dafts of the "Althoff Letter" dating back to mid-1882, as they also contain useful observations on the designed Introduction to the Human Sciences.

    Description: A spectral and haunting figure, Oswald Spengler, with his main work (The Decline of the West) reappears on the scene every time the present is experienced as a moment of crisis or political, ideological, cultural transition. Even in our own time, there are references, researches, and articles that, although in different ways, all seem to be connected by a worried regard for his diagnoses. In the two parts of this study, is made an attempt to show, however, why Spengler cannot be evoked (or dismissed) as the anti-West. Rather, it is a matter of pointing out how the mimetic blurring with the positions of the alleged prophet of doom, in the name of the West's self-love and its exceptionalism, risks confirming the prognosis of the decline, testifying to the misery, or impotence, of the critique aimed at opposing its fulfilment.

Nelle due parti di questo studio, si prova a mostrare, tuttavia, perché Spengler non possa essere evocato (o scongiurato) come l’anti-Occidente. Si tratta di rimarcare, piuttosto, come il confondersi mimetico con le posizioni del presunto profeta di sventura, in nome dell’amor proprio dell’Occidente e della sua eccezionalità, rischi di confermare la prognosi del tramonto, attestando la miseria, o l’impotenza, della critica volta a contrastarne il compimento.

Un contrasto essenziale senza esperire il quale non è possibile fare filosofia – prospettando le possibili vie d’uscita dalle molteplici forme del nichilismo contemporaneo –, e che costituisce l’attualità filosofica di Schelling, dalla quale occorre ancora oggi prendere avvio. «Certo un’esposizione dogmatica della filosofia potrebbe essere più comprensibile, ma lo scopo di chi vuole insegnare la filosofia non può mai essere quello di presentare i suoi risultati.     Description: This volume collects the proceedings of the meeting held in September 2021 at the Archaeological Museum of Stabia Libero D'Orsi, organized by the Scuola Superiore Meridionale di Napoli and the Archaeological Park of Pompeii. The focus on the ancient city of Stabiae combines the evidence found on the tufa ridge of Varano with what is preserved in the modern city of Castellammare, the ancient city's port that survived the Plinian eruption. Two different Institutions protect the area: the Archaeological Park of Pompeii is in charge of the ancient villas and the Museum at the Quisisana Royal Palace, while the Superintendence for the Metropolitan Area of Naples takes care of the archaeological evidence of the territory. The seminar sought to unite these two perspectives and it was focused on creating a common space for researchers working in the area, in order to share data and hypotheses and discuss the field activities and the project of a new archaeological park, that must find in the Archaeological Museum of Stabia a narrative hub.

Il racconto sull'antica città di Stabiae nasce dall'unione delle testimonianze del costone tufaceo di Varano a quanto si conserva immerso nella continuità di vita di Castellammare, già area di approdo della vecchia città e successivamente porto sopravvissuto all'eruzione pliniana e anzi potenziato dalla distruzione di Pompei. Due archeologie diverse si confrontano, dunque, tra Castellammare e Gragnano e due enti diversi le tutelano: il Parco archeologico di Pompei si occupa delle ville sepolte e del Museo presso il Quisisana, la Soprintendenza per l'area metropolitana di Napoli si prende cura delle testimonianze di archeologia urbana e territoriale. Il seminario ha cercato di unire le due prospettive e l'incontro è stato funzionale anche a creare uno spazio comune di aggiornamento per i ricercatori che operano sul territorio, indipendentemente dalla loro appartenenza istituzionale o provenienza per poter condividere dati, ipotesi, per riflettere sulla ripresa degli scavi e sulla progettazione di un nuovo parco stabiano unitario che trovi nel Museo un hub narrativo.

    Description: Adria nasce come emporio e almeno dal tardo Arcaismo assume la fisionomia di una città etrusca per cultura e per lingua. Gli scavi condotti in città per oltre due secoli hanno restituito una ricca documentazione epigrafica che conta 212 iscrizioni etrusche e centinaia di graffiti. Nel panorama degli studi su Adria, il ruolo dell’epigrafia appare così assai rilevante. Rilevanza confermata nel quadro dell’Etruria padana, dove il nucleo adriese è al secondo posto per quantità dopo quello di Spina, e compete anche con alcune fra le più importanti città dell’Etruria propria. Ma l’aspetto forse più importante risiede nella continuità, dato che le attestazioni più antiche risalgono al VI sec. a.C. e le più recenti a cavallo di II e I sec. a.C., restituendo così lo spaccato di una comunità sopravvissuta al crollo del sistema padano nel IV sec. a.C. Questa ricca documentazione è confluita nell’edizione del Corpus Inscriptionum Etruscarum, IV, I, 1. Non consentendo la prassi redazionale dell’opera approfondimenti critici, si è ritenuto opportuno offrire a corredo del fascicolo un testo di analisi epigrafica delle iscrizioni etrusche, valorizzando l’insieme delle informazioni che il singolo oggetto iscritto porta con sé, dunque non solo il testo, ma anche il supporto e il contesto di rinvenimento, essenziali per una soddisfacente interpretazione.     Description: According to a well-established Italian university tradition, the verification of learning of a subject belonging to the cultural area of the 'STEM disciplines' involves passing a written test and an oral test. While the latter is intended as verification of the acquisition of both the conceptual foundations and the theoretical formalism of the discipline, the written test is intended to verify problem solving skills according to the "knowing means knowing how to do" paradigm, of whose formative validity the authors of this manual are convinced supporters. Usually there are many very good textbooks that cover the theoretical part, while there are chronically few textbooks that propose problems at the right level of complexity, also offering detailed and commented solutions. This is particularly true for those disciplines corresponding to the last year of the three-year cycle of a Bachelor's degree. In order to at least partially fill this gap, a textbook is proposed here that brings together a rich and varied series of problems (with solutions and comments) in the physics of atoms, molecules and crystalline solids. These topics, which constitute an indispensable body of knowledge in modern physics, represent the core of the discipline 'Structure of Matter', as defined by the Italian university taxonomy.

    Description: Secondo una consolidata tradizione universitaria italiana, la verifica dell’apprendimento di una materia appartenente all’area culturale delle “discipline STEM” prevede il superamento di una prova scritta e di una prova orale. Mentre quest’ultima è intesa come verifica di acquisizione tanto dei fondamenti concettuali quanto del formalismo teorico della disciplina, la prova scritta intende verificare le capacità di problem solving secondo il paradigma “sapere significa saper fare”, della cui validità formativa gli Autori di questo manuale sono convinti sostenitori. Usualmente esistono molti validissimi manuali che coprono la parte teorica, mentre è cronicamente scarso il numero di manuali che propongano problemi al giusto livello di complessità, offrendone anche la dettagliata e commentata soluzione. Questo è particolarmente vero per quelle discipline che corrispondono all’ultimo anno del ciclo triennale di una laurea di primo livello. Al fine di colmare almeno parzialmente questa lacuna, qui viene proposto un manuale che raccoglie una ricca e variegata serie di problemi (con soluzioni e commenti) di fisica degli atomi, delle molecole e dei solidi cristallini. Questi argomenti, che costituiscono un irrinunciabile corpus di conoscenze in fisica moderna, rappresentano il cuore della disciplina “Struttura della Materia”, come definita dalla tassonomia universitaria italiana.

    Description: The rich calendar of initiatives organized by SISFA throughout 2021 to celebrate the first forty years of activity of the Italian community of Historians of Physics and Astronomy concluded with a Workshop, the Proceedings of which are presented here. Already during our XLI National Congress held in Arezzo in September 2021, a special session commemorated the important anniversary. In that context, it was decided to organize a Workshop on December 15 and 16, 2021, to discuss and reflect more deeply on what happened in the past forty years. The organization was entrusted to members Fabio Bevilacqua, Ivana Gambaro, Pasquale Tucci and President Salvatore Esposito. The Proceedings of the two days are collected in these pages.

    Description: The volume includes a series of contributions related to the handicraft productions of the ancient city of Aeolian Kyme (Turkey), edited with the purpose of investigating, through their circulation, the relations of the Aeolian metropolis with other areas of the Aegean see and of the ancient Mediterranean. The work deals with a difficult field of investigation, as not all the Anatolian manufacturing centres, including Kyme, have been properly documented so far. Researches carried out by archaeologists of the University of Naples, University of Calabria and University of Milan, who participate in the activities of the Italian Archaeological Mission in Kyme, reveal the economic role that the city of Kyme had in various historical period. It was a seaport of primary importance, located at the mouth of the Ermo river, which was the main transport route to the Anatolian inland, along the north-south costal road.

    Description: The teaching of science subjects in Italian universities has undergone profound changes with the introduction of the 1999 reform of the autonomy of universities and the consequent introduction of course credits, which has forced degree programs to significantly reduce the number of lecture hours that can be delivered. This has induced if not forced many professors to simplify content, heavily reducing the exemplifications that can be offered and also, often, foregoing the deductive rigor that many disciplines might require. This text is the result of an attempt to present the fundamentals of statistical mechanics to Italian master's degree students by employing an axiomatic approach. The reader is guided through a theory-building process that helps him or her understand its main conceptual junctures, stimulating interest and critical thinking. Shying away from formalism, the volume is intended as a compromise between the need to keep the teaching load proportionate to the hours of classes given and the mathematical skills of the students, while at the same time ensuring sufficient examples of applications of the theory to appreciate its relevance and predictive potential.

    Description: L'insegnamento delle materie scientifiche nelle università italiane ha subito profondi cambiamenti con l'introduzione della riforma dell'autonomia didattica degli atenei del 1999 e con la conseguente introduzione del credito formativo universitario, che ha costretto i corsi di laurea ad una significativa contrazione del numero di ore di lezione erogabili. Questo ha indotto se non costretto molti docenti ad una semplificazione dei contenuti, riducendo pesantemente le esemplificazioni proponibili e anche, spesso, rinunciando al rigore deduttivo che molte discipline potrebbero richiedere. Questo testo è il risultato del tentativo di presentare i fondamenti della meccanica statistica agli studenti delle lauree magistrali italiane impiegando un approccio assiomatico. Il lettore viene guidato in un percorso di costruzione della teoria che lo aiuta a comprenderne i principali snodi concettuali, stimolandone l’interesse e lo spirito critico. Rifuggendo da eccessi formali, il volume si propone come un compromesso tra la necessità di mantenere il carico didattico dell’insegnamento proporzionato alle ore di lezione impartite e alle competenze matematiche degli studenti, garantendo allo stesso tempo esempi di applicazioni della teoria sufficienti per apprezzarne la rilevanza e le potenzialità predittive.

    Description: In historiography and in the collective imagination, the image of the close-knit family, traceable in Southern Europe, as opposed to the 'weak' family, widespread in Northern Europe, has long resisted. In recent years, however, many new perspectives have opened up in the field of historical research on the family in the Early Modern Age. They have helped to shift the focus from the complementarity of sex roles and horizontal relationships within families to the disunity and tensions that ran through parental relationships in many other cases. The authors of the essays collected in this book consciously wanted to investigate the reasons for disputes, the more or less latent individual or generational contrasts within family groups, such as the tensions between parents and sons/daughters or between cadets and firstborn concerning political disputes or relating to the control and redistribution of family resources. These were conflicts generated by the will of individuals and their unconventional behaviour, the full extent of which is not lost on the emotional dimension of the cases, the language of feelings, the ever-present anxiety over the preservation of the name and heritage.

    Description: Se nella storiografia, come nell’immaginario collettivo, ha a lungo resistito e resiste l’immagine della famiglia ‘forte’ e coesa al suo interno, rintracciabile nel Sud Europa, in contrapposizione a quella della famiglia ‘debole’, diffusa nel Nord Europa, è anche vero che, negli ultimi anni, molte nuove prospettive si sono aperte nell’ambito della ricerca storica sulla famiglia di età moderna. Esse hanno contribuito a spostare l’attenzione dalla complementarità dei ruoli sessuali e delle relazioni orizzontali all’interno delle famiglie alle disunioni e le tensioni che in molti altri casi attraversarono le relazioni parentali. Le Autrici e gli Autori dei contributi raccolti nel libro hanno per l’appunto voluto consapevolmente indagare i motivi di disputa, i contrasti più o meno latenti, individuali o generazionali, interni ai gruppi familiari, come le tensioni tra genitori e figli/e o tra cadetti e primogenito in merito a contrapposizioni di natura politica o relativi al controllo e alla ridistribuzione delle risorse familiari. Si trattò di conflitti generati dalla volontà dei singoli e dei loro comportamenti anticonvenzionali di cui non si manca di cogliere tutta la portata della dimensione emotiva dei casi, il linguaggio dei sentimenti, l’assillo sempre presente della conservazione del nome e del patrimonio.
