    Description: Il presente volume affronta per la prima volta l’ambito dei rapporti italo-svizzeri da una prospettiva metodologica che fa riferimento agli studi culturali, alla storia delle idee e alla storia degli intellettuali. In una serie di saggi – basati su documenti spesso inediti scaturiti dallo scavo archivistico che le autrici e gli autori hanno condotto nell’ambito del progetto ricerca FNS «La gita a Chiasso. Trent’anni di sconfinamenti culturali tra Italia e Svizzera (1935-1965)» – si ricostruisce la complessa mappa delle relazioni che tra gli ultimi anni del regime fascista e l’immediato dopoguerra stava alla base della mediazione culturale tra i due paesi. Emergono così nodi e crocevia di una rete che attraversa i confini, in cui si intrecciano interessi culturali, economici e politici.

    Description: This richly illustrated volume explores the life and work of the Austrian classical scholar Joseph Eckhel, a crucial figure in the transformation of numismatic studies into a modern discipline. It contains twenty-one essays by an interdisciplinary group of international authors examining various aspects of Eckhel’s biography and scholarly activities: his Jesuit background, his formative study trip to Italy in 1773, his work as director of the imperial collection of ancient coins and professor of numismatics at the university of Vienna (from 1774), and especially his most important publications on ancient coins as well as on gems and cameos. Furthermore, the new book considers Eckhel’s impact on contemporaries and later generations, with special regard to his role in the development of numismatic methodology in the Enlightenment and beyond.
    Description: Dieser reich illustrierte Band erforscht Leben und Werk des österreichischen Altertumswissenschaftlers Joseph Eckhel, der eine entscheidende Rolle in der Transformation der Numismatik zu einer modernen Forschungsdisziplin spielte. Er enthält 21 Aufsätze einer internationalen Gruppe von Spezialisten, die im interdisziplinären Dialog verschiedene Aspekte seiner Biographie und seiner Forschungstätigkeit beleuchten: unter anderem Eckhels jesuitische Wurzeln, seine wichtige Forschungsreise nach Italien 1773, seine Arbeit als Direktor der kaiserlichen Sammlung antiker Münzen und Professor für Numismatik an der Universität Wien (ab 1774), und besonders seine wichtigsten Werke über antike Münzen sowie Gemmen und Kameen, unter denen Eckhels achtbändige „Doctrina numorum veterum“ (Wien, 1792-1798) als sein numismatisches Hauptwerk spezifische Beachtung genießt. Der neue Sammelband widmet sich auch Eckhels Wirkung auf Zeitgenossen und spätere Generationen, unter besonderer Berücksichtigung seiner Position in der numismatischen Methodengeschichte im Zeitalter der Aufklärung und darüber hinaus.

    Description: The fifteenth volume of the critical edition of pope Innocent III’s chancery-registers is containing 242 letters addressed to recipients all over Europe and in the Middle East. In this year of the pontificate, the organization of the Church in The Latin Empire, the war against muslims in Spain and in the East and against heretics in Southern France are main topics constantly recurring in the Pope’s letters. The register of Innocent’s fifteenth year of pontificate is one of the four volumes transmitted not as original but as a copy written at the Curia in mid-14th century and as print published in the 17th century.

Pontifikatsjahrs Innocenz’ III. enthält die kritische Edition von 242 Briefen aus der päpstlichen Kanzlei, die sich an unterschiedliche Empfänger in ganz Europa wie im Nahen Osten richten. Leitthemen des Jahrgangs sind die Kirchenorganisation im Lateinischen Kaiserreich, der Sarazenenkrieg in Spanien, die Bemühungen um einen neuen Kreuzzug ins Heilige Land und die Bekämpfung der Häresie in Südfrankreich. Auch der 15. Jahrgang gehört zu den vier Bänden der Register Innocenz’ III., die nicht als Originalregister, sondern in einer an der Kurie gefertigten Abschrift aus der Mitte des 14. und in einem gelehrten Druck aus dem 17. Jahrhundert überliefert sind.

    Description: Curata da Vittorio Gregotti e Umberto Eco, la Sezione introduttiva della XIII Triennale del 1964 dedicata al Tempo libero fu uno degli episodi figurativo-teatrali più significativi del fermento sperimentale che interessò l’Italia dei primi anni Sessanta. Architettura, letteratura, arti visive, cinema e musica convergevano – nel senso della tradizione modernista della Sintesi delle Arti – a creare una sorta di macchina narrativa integrale, chiamata ad affrontare tramite i canoni dell'opera aperta il tema dello svago. L’architettura si faceva così spazio performativo, coinvolgendo attivamente il pubblico, attore e spettatore allo stesso tempo. In questo che è il primo studio specificamente dedicato all’allestimento, l’autore ricostruisce il percorso espositivo della mostra per mettere in luce il dialogo che in queste sale intercorre tra il dibattito letterario del Gruppo 63, le avanguardie architettoniche europee, la Pop Art statunitense e gli ambienti spaziali di Lucio Fontana. Questo labirinto di specchi e illuminazioni al neon ha nell’immersività degli spazi uno dei tratti più distintivi, che l’autore interroga alla luce delle odierne estetiche transmediali (in ambito allestitivo, narrativo e teatrale), proponendo così una disamina innovativa circa il fenomeno e la rilevanza attuale della neoavanguardia italiana. Il volume ripropone inoltre per la prima volta alcuni testi di Umberto Eco, Vittorio Gregotti, Enrico Filippini e Gillo Dorfles relativi all’allestimento della XIII Triennale.

    Description: «Coop», «Voiello», «Superga»: nomi propri? nomi comuni? Come funzionano i nomi commerciali (o marchionimi) nella lingua, quali tratti presentano quando entrano nel discorso? Il volume rappresenta il primo ampio studio sistematico sul funzionamento dei nomi commerciali nell’italiano scritto. Il suo carattere innovativo risiede nell’impostazione sperimentale con cui indaga i marchionimi, scandagliando sintatticamente un vasto «corpus» di dati testuali appositamente elaborato. Prendendo ispirazione ideale dalla lezione di Saussure, i nomi commerciali sono processualmente descritti nei loro valori correlativi: non come entità ontologicamente predefinite, bensì come il risultato di rapporti sintagmatici e paradigmatici da cogliere metodologicamente nell’analisi delle proposizioni in cui tali nomi ricorrono. Ne emerge una visione radicalmente nuova del nome commerciale, scevra da luoghi comuni onomastici o categoriali, e in grado di gettare un fascio di luce, da una prospettiva inconsueta, anche sul problema millenario dei nomi propri.

    Description: The fourteenth volume of the critical edition of pope Innocent III’s chancery-registers is containing 161 letters addressed to recipients all over Europe and in the Middle East. In this year of the pontificate, no geographical focus is discernible. However, christianitas as threatened at three frontiers (in Spain and the East by Muslims, in Southern France by heretics) is a topic constantly recurring in the Pope’s letters. The register of Innocent’s fourteenth year of pontificate is one of the four volumes transmitted not as original but as a copy written at the Curia in mid-14th century and as print published in the 17th century.

This is followed by the necrology written shortly before 1300 which has unusually close ties to the list of donations, and the calendar. Additionally there are extensive discussions concerning the history of research, the manuscripts, to certain sources up to controversival questions of localization.

    Description: Le istituzioni femminili partenopee furono centri indiscutibili di cultura, fucine di mecenatismo, laboratori privilegiati di attività artistiche e di produzioni musicali e diedero un contributo incisivo alla vita culturale e artistica della Napoli vicereale. Monasteri e conservatori impiegarono nel corso dei secoli i musicisti più rappresentativi della città di Napoli a sostegno delle cerimonie liturgiche o per curare la formazione musicale delle religiose e delle figlie ospiti. Il presente studio si propone di indagare e ricostruire le attività musicali di questi enti attraverso lo studio della documentazione proveniente dai principali archivi presenti nella città di Napoli. Le fonti d'archivio permettono infatti di comprendere quale funzione avesse l'arte musicale nella vita dei chiostri. La ricerca intende inoltre considerare la realtà monastica femminile nel suo insieme, esaminando la presenza delle comunità religiose nella città e il loro ruolo all’interno delle dinamiche della vita urbana. L'indagine condotta restituisce oggi una visione attendibile del fenomeno sonoro nel quotidiano delle realtà claustrali, portandoci a comprendere quanto le comunità monastiche femminili contribuirono allo sviluppo di tradizioni musicali, spettacolari, liturgiche.
