    Description: Die Geschichte der Geisteswissenschaften im Dritten Reich hat erst in jüngster Zeit intensivere wissenschaftliche Zuwendung erfahren. Während Exil und Exilanten früh die Aufmerksamkeit auf sich zogen, blieben die Fächer selbst, aus denen Gelehrte vertrieben wurden, lange Zeit außerhalb des wissenschaftlichen Interesses. Die im vorliegenden Tagungsband vereinten Beiträge zeigen, daß der Kenntnisstand über Verstrickungen einzelner Fächer und ihrer Vertreter in den Nationalsozialismus sich höchst unterschiedlich präsentiert, sich aber dank einer nunmehr offen geführten Diskussion und eines frei zugänglichen Quellenbestandes auch in ostdeutschen Archiven immer mehr zu einem facettenreichen Bild nationalsozialistischer Forschungspolitik verdichtet.
