    Description: Wie konnten Abwesende politische Prozesse im Venedig der Renaissance beeinflussen? Wie wurden entsprechende Praktiken tradiert? Antworten auf diese Fragen gibt die Briefsammlung des Amtsträgers Ludovico Foscarini (1409–1480). Seine Briefe entstanden als Reaktion auf ein Dilemma: Nur als Statthalter und Gesandter konnte Foscarini in der Konkurrenz mit anderen venezianischen Adeligen bestehen. In der Peripherie war er aber von den Verteilungswettkämpfen abgeschnitten, die in der Zentrale in geheimen Abstimmungen abliefen. Kunstvolle Briefe an andere Politiker und politisch einflussreiche Intellektuelle sollten das Problem lösen. Diese Briefe nutzten humanistische, juristische und theologische Metaphern, um Themen anzusprechen, die außerhalb der offiziellen Gremien tabu waren. Foscarini legte eine didaktisch aufgebaute Briefsammlung mit den wirksamsten seiner Briefe an –　ein Erfahrungsschatz, den er seinen Söhnen für ihre politischen Laufbahnen hinterließ. Die Publikation kontextualisiert in einer interdisziplinär angelegten Analyse die Einzelbriefe anhand von gelehrten Textvorlagen und Wissensbeständen sowie Archivmaterial. Dieser zweite von drei Teilen erschließt über 5.000 Archivalien des Brandenburgischen Landeshauptarchivs aus landesherrlichen Lokalbehörden der Kurmark, aus Ober- und Unterbehörden der Neumark und der Niederlausitz sowie aus (adligen) Herrschafts-, Guts- und Familienarchiven, aus Städten und anderen Körperschaften, ferner Nachlässen und Sammlungen von 1713 bis 1806.

Zu den Originalen tritt des weiteren eine erhebliche abschriftliche Überlieferung im Umfang von 55 Urkundentexten hinzu. Der Inhalt des gesamten Urkundenfonds wird hier erstmals in Form von 120 Regesten ausführlich wiedergegeben. In ihnen stehen neben Stadtrechtsbestätigungen – wie der ältesten von 1256 – Belehnungen des Landesherrn, Verträge und Städtebündnisse. Hinzu treten zahlreiche aussagekräftige Belege über die Entwicklung von Handwerk und Gewerbe in der Stadt. Bereits frühe Urkunden liegen für die Gewandschneider und Tuchmacher vor, in denen sich die wirtschaftliche Bedeutung der Stadt am Treffpunkt von Handelsstraßen aus dem Binnenland zu den Hansestädten an Nord- und Ostsee dokumentiert. Einen wesentlichen Teil bildet schließlich die urkundliche Überlieferung aus dem kirchlichen Bereich, wie der Nikolaikirche, von Kapellen und Hospitälern und der in der Stadt und der gesamten Prignitz wirksamen Kalandsbruderschaft.

    Description: Die Stände der Kurmark Brandenburg haben einen jahrhundertealten Urkundenbestand hinterlassen. Er beginnt im 13. und reicht bis zum Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts. In den in dieser Arbeit vorgelegten Vollregesten erfahren die inhaltlichen Aussagen der einzelnen Urkunden ausführliche Wiedergabe. Neben mittelalterlichen Bedeverträgen mit den Landesherren, Landfriedensbündnissen, Lehnsurkunden, Münz- und Zollprivilegien stehen in der frühen Neuzeit Landtagsrezesse, Obligationen und Schuldverschreibungen.     Description: Die Stadt Beeskow verfügt im Vergleich mit anderen Städten in der Mark Brandenburg und der Niederlausitz über einen umfänglichen, inhaltsreichen und gut erhaltenen Bestand an Urkunden aus dem späten Mittelalter und der frühen Neuzeit, deren Inhalte hier zum ersten Mal in Form von 255 Regesten ausführlich beschrieben werden. Stadtrechtsbestätigungen, Lehnsurkunden und Finanzgeschäfte erhellen die rechtlichen und materiellen Verhältnisse der Stadtgemeinde. In das alltägliche Leben der Bürger gewährt die in Brandenburg ziemlich einmalige Überlieferung von Zunftstatuten und -privilegien tieferen Einblick. Neben den für die Versorgung der Bevölkerung unverzichtbaren Viergewerken der Bäcker, Fleischer, Schneider und Schuhmacher standen die im Fernhandel tätigen Gewandschneider und Tuchmacher, die von der Lage der Stadt am Schnittpunkt belebter Handelsstraßen begünstigt wurden.
