Andererseits arbeiten sie mit der Medialität die ästhetisch zentrale Spannung zwischen künstlerischer Gestaltung und gesellschaftlich orientierten Vermittlungsfunktionen heraus. Dabei rücken die Materialität medialer Prozesse, die Vermitteltheit von Materialbezügen sowie Intermaterialität und Intermedialität als produktive Grenzüberschreitungen in den Fokus.; Ästhetische Akte und Artefakte sind durch ihre Materialien ebenso grundlegend bedingt wie durch die medialen Prozesse, in die sie eingebunden sind. This interdisciplinary volume delves into the semantics and resistances of material as well as material’s own logic. On the other hand, it uses mediality to draw out the central aesthetic tension between artistic creation and the socially oriented functions of mediation.
