    Beschreibung: El conjunto de trabajos aquí reunidos apuntan a una lectura crítica del proceso de globalización, rasgo distintivo que resume el carácter expansivo de la fase actual de acumulación capitalista en el plano mundial, y que, a juicio del autor, representa, ante todo, el resultado de un proceso político: el resultado del retroceso que, con desfases y despuntes diversos, se observa, a partir de 1968, en las luchas y los niveles de organización de los trabajadores en el conjunto del planeta. No es la lógica de expansión de las fuerzas productivas, ni la pretendida “eficiencia” de los procesos de producción capitalista ni la racionalización que esta conlleva, ni tampoco las economías a escala, sino la organización de los trabajadores y del movimiento popular en su conjunto los que, en su accionar político, posibilitan o no la expansión del capital, por tanto los únicos que pueden detener o, en ausencia de una voluntad política en este sentido, facilitar la expansión de éste. Todo este festín del capitalismo, en plena euforia expansiva que hoy observamos con horror, hubiera sido a todas luces impensable sin la desarticulación previa del nivel de resistencia de los trabajadores.

Ha pretendido serlo, pero no lo es. Ha debido contentarse, a través sucesivas “re-estructuraciones”, con ser la presentación y defensa de la hipótesis siguiente: la manera más comprensiva de entender el pensamiento emergido en las regiones periféricas durante los últimos siglos -regiones en general sometidas a procesos de invasión o colonización- consiste en la disyuntiva ser-como-el-centro versus ser-nosotros-mismos. Este problema se lo ha planteado la intelectualidad suramericana, la africana y la asiática, como también la eslava, la balcánica y la ibérica, de esta poca. En consecuencia, se ha limitado a mostrar múltiples trazos que contribuyan a probar esta hipótesis.

    Beschreibung: There are multiple reasons why a group of people takes on the task of writing a book. In our case, "Living in troubled times: from socio-critical reflections to proposals for social intervention", which is the first book produced by the Research Center on Professions in Contemporary Societies, of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, responds to a double interest. On the one hand, in the politically turbulent times that run in Chile and Latin America, we want to be participants in the construction of the subjectivities with which we will face the future sociocultural and political framework. In such a scenario we are interested in problematizing the crossroads, opportunities, interspaces, challenges, limits, and the borders or cracks of social intervention, from different multidimensional and interdisciplinary points of view. On the other hand, with a writing committed to socio-critical thoughts, we want to give a voice to the experiences, achievements and concerns that professionals of direct social intervention, or face to face, have related to us through various instances. His courage to challenge life in troubled times has inspired us to set as a goal, in the writing of each of the chapters, the development of proposals related to social intervention and professional training in social sciences, and in particular in Social Work .

    Beschreibung: The study of the origins and early years of the Fourth International acquires a special relevance when considering them as part of the process of construction and criticism of the organizational and political tools of the working class that continues to this day. From its origins, the Fourth International was marked by political disputes within the Communist International, by the first positions as the Left Opposition, by the persecution of Trotskyist sympathizers and by the assassination of Leon Trotsky. Thus, this book is based on the need and the importance of investigating the history of Socialist Internationals in the key of an international history of socialism, insofar as the local and regional expressions of this current can be comprehensively understood through comparative and transnational analysis. Trotskyists under Nazi terror. A history of the Fourth International during World War II, develops a historical analysis of the political perspective carried out by the Fourth International in Europe during World War II through the comparative study of the French, North American, Belgian and British sections. Taking as one of the central axes the resurgence of the discussion on the national question in Europe, it is observed how the crisis of the Fourth International did not begin with the debate on entryism in 1953 but ten years before, due to the difficulties of the organization to adapt to the new European scenario inaugurated in mid-1943 with the deposition of Benito Mussolini and the beginning of the "bourgeois-democratic counterrevolution" from the intervention of the United States during the last years of the war.

Nos interesó centrar la preocupación en la visibilidad y análisis de la relación entre ideología, modelos de desarrollo y políticas públicas-sociales del Estado para los países y la región, porque en Latinoamérica, desde el 2000 en adelante, diversos gobiernos se propusieron impulsar políticas alternativas al modelo de desarrollo neoliberal, inaugurando el ’ciclo progresista" en la región bajo lo que se definió como Neodesarrollismo, Socialismo del Siglo XXI y/o del Buen Vivir.

Se trata de advertir las características del proceso de desarrollo de la clase obrera en el marco de una economia capitalista, la conformación de sus organizaciones de lucha, y en el contexto de ese desenvolvimiento las características de su vinculación con los grupos políticos activos en el seno de las izquierdas. La pregunta que busca responder este trabajo, en otros términos, es cuál fue el lugar del PS en el proceso de estructuración de la conciencia de clase del proletariado argentino.

    Beschreibung: En este libro se plantean dos tipos de problemas históricos. En primer término, fue notorio desde los primeros años de la década de 1990 que la periodización con que se explicaba el pasado dejaba muchos vacíos. Desde la ausencia de una fecha de fundación y otra de término de la Transición, hasta si la crisis de la democracia comenzó antes o durante el gobierno de Salvador Allende. Por ello se busca poner en cuestión la cronología de la segunda mitad del siglo XX en Chile, relevando los problemas e intentando resolverlos. En segundo término, está el problema de la desaparición de los protagonistas directos, lo que agrava el desconocimiento sobre su época. La ineficacia de las explicaciones normativas se ve acentuada, pues la autoridad que la sostenía era la de la experiencia de los protagonistas más notorios de la historia reciente. Este libro recoge seis textos previamente publicados en la revista Izquierdas, incorpora también la traducción inédita de un texto del historiador uruguayo Aldo Marchesi; y recopila una serie de columnas publicadas a propósito del cierre de la muestra “Hijos de la Libertad” del Museo Histórico Nacional en mayo de 2018. Estos escritos y estas voces coinciden aquí como expresión de la necesidad de reapropiarnos del pasado reciente de Chile y la región del cono sur, con investigaciones y reflexiones que diluyan el efecto de las lecturas normativas con las que se ha domesticado ese período.

Este libro entrega lo que me quedó de muchas horas de conversaciones que hice con Luis Alberto Mansilla, las quedaron dispersas en el tiempo. Sobre todo, fueron horas escuchándolo (y de punzarlo para tirarle la lengua). De acuerdo al origen de los dichos, este texto es la exposición de aquél amplio diálogo.

    Beschreibung: Esta obra tiene como objetivo brindar un primer acercamiento al lenguaje de la gestión cultural en Latinoamérica. Un intento de poner en palabras, de realizar una reflexión de lo que se hace y se piensa desde diversos luga res de nuestras múltiples y extensas realidades que nos caracterizan. Como tal, estos conceptos que presentamos están abiertos y en movimiento, y a partir de ello se pueden armar y desarmar, construir y deconstruir, diversos enfoques y tendencias que buscan dar sentido a una gestión cultural latinoamericana que se encuentra en la búsqueda de sí misma. En gran parte de la historia de nuestra práctica, hemos recibido las influencias externas de las formas de hacer, pensar y nombrar la acción cultural. Por tal motivo, y como resultado de múltiples procesos de formalización o profesionalización, nos vemos en la necesidad de tener claridad de los conceptos y diseñar formas posibles de deslindar campos respecto a las importaciones, en muchos casos mecánicas y fuera de lugar, al mismo tiempo que nos llevan a revisar críticamente la forma en que nos vemos y somos vistos. Los términos aquí expuestos buscan dar sentido a una práctica que se viene realizando desde hace muchos años y que necesita ser pensada. No pretenden ser homogéneos ni hegemónicos, sino contribuir a la reflexión de una gestión cultural que cada vez más se perfila como la posibilidad de constituirse en un referente de la acción cultural en Latinoamérica.

    Beschreibung: El año 2011 inauguraría un estadio en el proceso socio-político reciente carac­terizado por una politización que se manifiesta en diversos planos: un aumen­to en el debate público, un incremento en la conflictívidad, un mayor involu- cramiento ciudadano y, quizás el más evidente, una expansión en el número de protestas o movilizaciones sociales (PNUD, 2015). De este modo, lo que hoy se conoce como "el despertar de Chile" (18 de octubre en adelante), bien pue­de ser considerado la culminación y ensanche de lo iniciado hace una década.Luego de las primeras movilizaciones de 2011, éstas aumentaron en masividad mientras las demandas ciudadanas se fueron expandiendo y diversificando. En efecto dominó, se desplegaron multitudinarias protestas primero contra el proyecto hidroeléctrico Hidroaysén en el sur del país, para continuar luego con el masivo movimiento estudiantil, protestas regionalistas, marchas a favor de la diversidad sexual y de la legalización de la marihuana, entre otras. Al mismo tiempo, la clase política, la academia, los medios de comunicación y la propia ciudadanía miraban con asombro el fenómeno que estaba teniendo lugar.

    Beschreibung: Jorge Insunza Becker (April 21, 1936-March 17, 2019) was one of the main leaders of the Chilean Communist Party since the 1960s. He joined the Communist Youth in 1954. In 1962 he was promoted to the Central Committee of the PC and from 1965 he was part of his Political Commission, the one that led the triumph of Salvador Allende in 1970. After the 1973 coup d'état, he was part of the first clandestine communist leadership that assumed the resistance to the dictatorship, together with Víctor Díaz, Américo Zorrilla, Mario Zamorano and Uldarico Donaire. With the return to democracy, he was one of the main figures who addressed the crisis in the socialist countries and the reconstruction of a project of the revolutionary left. Likewise, he had an active role in the agreements that allowed the return of the PC to Congress in 2010 and promoted the pact that allowed the communists to return to government with President Michelle Bachelet in 2014. The 4 volumes that we present cover a large part of the extensive journalistic and political work of this outstanding leader of the Chilean left. Arranged in chronological sequence, the texts collect the main part of his intellectual elaboration from the 1960s to the beginning of the 21st century (Volumes I, II, III). Volume IV is a selection of the most relevant of his career, facilitating the documentary relationship contained in the previous volumes. Undoubtedly, due to the breadth of the compilation made, the whole of this work will be extremely useful both for specialists in history, and for the consultation of interested parties in general. Finally, the contributions of Isabel Torres and Rolando Álvarez, both historians, help to enhance the meaning of the performance that Jorge Insunza took on.

En este afán, se presenta la noción estudios eidéticos, con la cual se perfila una propuesta de reconfiguración del ámbito disciplinar. Buena parte de las conversaciones gira en tomo a precisar en qué consiste o podría consistir esta propuesta, cómo se relacionaría con trayectorias preexistentes, en qué se parecería, y en qué no, a otros enfoques más o menos emparentados, cómo cabría pensar sus vínculos con otras disciplinas. Un punto clave radica en el acento colocado en concebir a estos estudios “más allá” de lo estrictamente historiográfico (sin excluir, desde luego, este nivel), y en la invitación a promover y densificar los intercambios con otras disciplinas -las más próximas y habituales y, también otras, en apariencia más distantes, como la biología, las ciencias cognitivas, la ingeniería. A lo largo de las conversaciones se ofrecen definiciones, distinciones conceptuales y criterios de clasificación que pueden ser útiles para estudiar “la vida de las ideas”, realidades tan fascinantes como complejas.

    Beschreibung: This book analyzes the uses of music in the cinema in Chile in terms of meaning and interpretation, considering the socio-political circumstances that have marked the country during the 20th century. The time frame of this research ranges from 1939 when the sustained production of films with optical sound was established in the country and 1973, when the civil-military coup d'état destroyed all the pillars of the cultural field in Chile and many filmmakers and composers left for the exile. This work aims to challenge existing historiography and research by emphasizing the sound dimension of Chilean cinema. Far from being a secondary and decorative aspect, music has been a central element in different moments and practices of Chilean cinema both internally in its formal and narrative proposals and externally in its discursiveness and links with the social and political.

    Beschreibung: Existen multiples razones por las cuales un grupo de personas se da a la tarea de escribir un libro. En nuestro caso, “Vivir en tiempos convulsionados: desde reflexiones sociocriticas hacia propuestas para la intervención social”, que es el primer libro producido por el Núcleo de Investigación Sobre las Profesiones en las Sociedades Contemporáneas, de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, responde a un doble interés. Por una parte, en los tiempos políticamente agitados que corren en Chile y Latinoamérica, queremos ser participes de la construcción de las subjetividades con que enfrentaremos el entramado sociocultural y politico futuro. En tal escenario nos interesa problematizar las encrucija- das, oportunidades, interespacios, desafíos, limites, y las fronteras o grietas de la intervención social, desde distintas miradas polidi- mensionales e interdisciplinarias. Por otro lado, con una escritura comprometida con pensamientos sociocriticos, queremos dar voz a las experiencias, logros y desvelos, que profesionales de intervención social directa, o cara a cara, nos han relatado a través de diversas instancias. Su coraje para desafiar la vida en tiempos convulsionados nos ha inspirado para ponernos como meta, en la escritura de cada uno de los capitulos, la elaboración de propuestas vinculadas a la intervención social y a la formación profesional en ciencias sociales, y en particular en Trabajo Social.

    Beschreibung: A fines del siglo XIX, las socialistas alemanas, como parte del movimiento obrero, adoptaron una política de "separación tajante" de las feministas, como movimiento policlasista, y fijaron la postura de que no existía una única "cuestión de la mujer" sino varias, correspondientes a la necesidades de las mujeres de las principales clases de la sociedad capitalista (la burguesía, la clase media y el proletariado). En términos programáticos, llamaron a abandonar la noción de igualdad en la legislación y a adoptar leyes laborales protectoras del trabajo femenino y de las mujeres embarazadas y lactantes, así como a levantar la bandera del sufragio universal femenino como consigna en torno a la cual podían movilizar y organizar a las mujeres trabajadoras. Esta política se transformó en la línea oficial de la Internacional de Mujeres Socialistas creada en 1907 en Stuttgart, la cual estableció la celebración de un Día Internacional de la Mujer en su segunda conferencia celebrada en Copenhague en 1910. Dicha decisión jugaría un rol crucial en la historia de Rusia. Este trabajo analiza la historia del dichos debates y esfuerzos organizativos que, progresivamente, se fueron transformando en una lucha por el apoyo de las mujeres proletarias entre la principal organización feminista rusa (la Liga por la Igualdad de los Derechos de las Mujeres) y el ala revolucionaria de la socialdemocracia rusa, el Partido Bolchevique.

Estos discursos se han nutrido de las prácticas del sometimiento de los indios, que luego fueron nombrados como indígenas, aborígenes, hasta llegar a los escenarios actuales en que los poderes y las sociedades no-indígenas deben enfrentarla reivindicación del reconocimiento de los pueblos originarios; esto es, en lo fundamental, deben responder ante los derechos colectivos’ formulados y reclamados por tos movimientos indígenas contemporáneos sobre la base de su larga resistencia con el fin de afirmar y reconformar su identidad. En conjunto de cinco ensayos aquí reunidos corresponden a una larga reflexión sobre la condición y realidad mapuche en nuestro país. Todos comparten un contrapunto con la historia, con distintos momentos de nuestra vida política, desde los albores del Estado-nación hasta épocas más actuales, en la perspectiva de augurar cambios y reconocimientos largamente desconocidos.

Como tal, estos conceptos que presentamos están abiertos y en movimiento, y a partir de ello se pueden armar y desarmar, construir y deconstruir, diversos enfoques y tendencias que buscan dar sentido a una gestión cultural latinoamericana que se encuentra en la búsqueda de sí misma. En gran parte de la historia de nuestra práctica, hemos recibido las influencias externas de las formas de hacer, pensar y nombrar la acción cultural. Por tal motivo, y como resultado de múltiples procesos de formalización o profesionali-zación, nos vemos en la necesidad de tener claridad de los conceptos y diseñar formas posibles de deslindar campos respecto a las importaciones, en muchos casos mecánicas y fuera de lugar, al mismo tiempo que nos llevan a revisar críticamente la forma en que nos vemos y somos vistos. Los términos aquí expuestos buscan dar sentido a una práctica que se viene realizando desde hace muchos años y que necesita ser pensada. No pretenden ser homogéneos ni hegemónicos, sino contribuir a la reflexión de una gestión cultural que cada vez más se perfila como la posibilidad de constituirse en un referente de la acción cultural en Latinoamérica.

    Beschreibung: Entre los trabajos que la historiadora Olga Ulianova dejara pendientes al momento de su deceso (2016). los relativos a la serie de documentos Chile en los archivos soviéticos 1922-1991 constituye uno de los ámbitos más prolificos y significativos de su labor disciplinaria. En conjunto con el Dr. Alfredo Riquelme. dieron a conocer tres volúmenes (el tercero, de manera postuma en el caso de Olga) que consideró el período 1922-1941, es decir, prácticamente todo el periodo de existencia de la Internacional Comunista o Tercera Internacional (IC, 1919-1943) con sede en Moscú. En esta ocasión, damos a conocer una colección de documentos que O Ulianova dejó en preparación. Se trata de 161 comunicaciones fechadas en la álgida década de 1960, provenientes de diversas instancias de la burocracia estatal y partidista soviéticas. Directa o indirectamente vincula­das a las relaciones internacionales (Consejo Central de los Sindicatos Soviéticos. CCSS; Departamento Internacional del Comité Central del PCUS: Comité Estatal para los vínculos culturales con los países extran­jeros. VOKS; la Unión de Sociedades Soviéticas de Amistad y Relaciones Culturales, SSOD; Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de la URSS), los antecedentes recogidos de estos organismos dan noticias de cuestiones tan variadas como la cooperación cultural y sindical del Kremlin con sus contrapartes chilenas (CUT, Institutos binacionales); la práctica de los viajes y visitas reciprocas; la influencia ideológica y la imagen de la URSS, las preocupaciones del Kremlin sobre la situación política de Chile y el rol internacional de nuestro país. etc.

In general, the investigations have described the process of worker politicization, mentioning the fundamental role played by the political parties, be it the Democratic Party, the Socialist Workers Party and the anarchist movement in the "awakening of the workers". On the other hand, they have described that the relationship between political parties and social movements was characterized by the limited autonomy of the latter around the former. This included the peasant movement, especially in its early years. But in recent decades, a series of studies have shown that agricultural workers were not "marginalized" or "absent" from national politics, but rather, the first peasant organizations were repressed and limited in their union activity, especially among the years 1938-1952

This tension, constantly present and expressed in multiple ways, transports us inexorably to a convulsive beginning of the 19th century. A historical moment marked by the rupture, in capital letters, associated with the fall of the Old Regime, of obsolete models of political, economic and social organization, of archaic ways of thinking and acting. In this context, the disagreement in America had been made clear for quite some time. The emancipation processes came to signify, therefore, the confirmation that the American system was in absolute decline. We believe that the set of contributions that make up this work -precisely because of its heterogeneity, because of its different approaches and because it never abandons the overall perspective- contributes as one more grain of sand to the debate and discussion about our common history, about the difficult times that were lived and that never left us.

    Beschreibung: El recorrido al que nos invita Dino Pancani abarca, los escritos que difundió en el diario digital El Mostrador y los más recientes en la sección de columnas de la radio Cooperativa que editaba la periodista Manola Robles, quien nos dejó hace unos meses. La selección de los artículos no es cronológica, tampoco es al azar, sino que tiene una lógica que los lectores vamos comprendiendo en la medida que pasamos las páginas, con la ayuda memoria de los títulos de los diferentes capítulos o secciones. Se trata de una división por grandes temas a los que el autor les dedicó en su momento especial tiempo y atención, por lo que estaba observando con su mirada crítica e inquisitiva o por las reminiscencias que le trajeron. Algunos los vivió como protagonista o testigo. Otros los estudió o sobre ellos se ha detenido a reflexionar hasta hoy. Pero hay algo muy especial en estos escritos. Una interesante mezcla de estilos, casi un híbrido entre la expresión de su pensamiento comprometido y desafiante y el relato rico en descripciones. Entre la columna y la crónica. Entre un periodismo de opinión claro, nítido y fuerte que con argumentos trata de demostrar al lector la validez de su juicio sobre un determinado tema y una crónica atractiva abundante en sustantivos y sobre todo en adjetivos que dan color y vida a lo que expone (del Prólogo de María Olivia Mönckeberg)
