    Beschreibung: La diplomatie remplit une mission déterminante de légitimation au service du pouvoir : voilà une déclaration qui ferait sourire plus d’un de nos contemporains... L’histoire de la diplomatie entre les Pays-Bas et les États du Saint Empire témoigne de l’existence d’un discours idéologique adapté aux circonstances, principalement en temps de troubles. De volumineuses correspondances diplomatiques s’échangent au 16e siècle entre Madrid, Bruxelles et les princes territoriaux des Allemagnes, ce « triangle diplomatique » dont les fondements sont définis et les acteurs passés en revue. Les « lettres de courtoisie » visent à préserver les rapports de bon voisinage, de même que les échanges de nouvelles, d’une importance primordiale à cette époque de grande insécurité. Quant aux intercessions princières pour des sujets mécontents, autre exemple de la diplomatie au jour le jour, elles renvoient à des litiges commerciaux ou financiers susceptibles de nuire à l’entente mutuelle et d’entamer la prospérité générale.Les questions d’ordre militaire que soulève le recrutement de troupes de mercenaires sous les ordres de pensionnaires royaux figurent aussi parmi les grands leitmotiv des correspondances entre les Pays-Bas espagnols et le Saint Empire. Les interactions du Roi catholique Philippe II et de ses représentants à Bruxelles avec les princes allemands les plus influents, catholiques et protestants, sont étudiées devant la toile de fond de la confessionnalisation à l’échelle européenne. La Révolte des Pays-Bas a évidemment laissé de nombreuses traces dans les courriers diplomatiques, de la crise iconoclaste de l’été 1566 à l’échec des pourparlers de Cologne de 1579, en passant par l’exécution d’Egmont et de Hornes, les affrontements armés entre le duc d’Albe et Guillaume d’Orange ou la lutte contre les Gueux de mer. Dans ce contexte d’exception, la diplomatie sert encore davantage que dans ses formes quotidiennes les intérêts du pouvoir monarchique.

    Beschreibung: La poésie de Pétrarque et le pétrarquisme qui en est dérivé constituent une matière inestimable et un champ fertile pour comprendre les sources des identités et des cultures européennes. Il est donc crucial d’examiner les études pétrarquiennes au regard de nouvelles notions critiques telles que la transculturalité ou la transnationalité. L’exemple emblématique français constitue un champ d’enquête privilégié pour décrire ce que l’auteur définit comme le « mouvement migrant » du pétrarquisme européen. Grâce à l’application de nouvelles théories et méthodologies transdisciplinaires, cet ouvrage offre au public la possibilité de découvrir la richesse des traductions françaises des Rerum vulgarium fragmenta sur une période très vaste qui court du XVIe au XXIe siècle. Au-delà de l’ambition d’un travail d’érudition, ce livre est surtout le fruit d’une enquête intime sur des formes archétypales qui s’incarnent dans l’histoire des idées et des littératures. L’histoire de la traduction et des traductions n’est pas seulement une histoire des textes, mais aussi un récit des imaginaires qui les ont traversés.

    Beschreibung: Voltaire is one of the few European authors of the 18th century to have dealt with Korea. In this study, we first propose to highlight, through an analysis of all of his work, the texts in which he mentioned Korea and how this country is represented there. We will then try to identify his documentary sources, and we will focus mainly on how the author created stories from historical elements. Our survey also aims to understand Voltaire’s attitude to the historical-philosophical and dramatic genres, and to better understand his conception of these two genres.

    Beschreibung: This fourth volume of the series AdriAtlas collects the papers presented at the International Round Table held in Bologna on May 23rd -25th 2019. It contains in total 21 contributions of French, Italian, Croatian and Slovenian scholars. The reflections focus on artisanal productions in the Adriatic region with a particular attention to five themes: craftsmanship and manufacturing between city and countryside; epigraphy, crafts and society; amphora productions; production of fine and common ware; textile production.
