Este ensayo desvela la existencia de destacados intelectuales y medios periodísticos franceses interesados en abrir canales de comunicación y estrechar contactos con España. Sin embargo, son numerosos los casos de autores que se sustraen a la mirada del lector. La autorialidad no constituye necesariamente el atributo de un sujeto; puede estratificarse involucrando a otros actores de la producción de lo escrito. Las modalidades de presencia del autor también son múltiples: mientras unos tienden a difuminarse mediante el anonimato o el apócrifo, otros se manifiestan. Este libro se propone renunciar al creador como instancia unívoca para considerar los casos límite en que éste se esquiva y definir las relaciones entre el autor y las diferentes figuras que reviste en la obra.     Description: El cine forma parte hoy en día del patrimonio nacional. Sin embargo, la cuestión de la nacionalidad de los productos fílmicos está relacionada con diferentes aspectos: industrial, económico, historiográfico y estético. En cuanto al criterio oficial, se vincula habitualmente al espacio de producción; sin embargo, la nacionalidad del director de la película o de los actores, la ubicación de los espacios de rodaje, el idioma, o los acentos, la relación con unas corrientes estéticas o con géneros cinematográficos nacionalmente marcados pueden también ser considerados como tipos de clasificación. En España, el problema se plantea de forma más compleja que en otros muchos países ya que sobrepone casi de manera constante la nacionalidad regional o autonómica y la nación o las naciones. La película se convierte así en un territorio inestable y de difícil percepción, suponiendo interferencias que desacreditan cualquier análisis ignorante de la diversidad de los contextos. Por otra parte, el cine español ya no se puede concebir desconectado del resto de Europa, y la hispanidad sigue aportando elementos propios de una comunidad transnacional lingüística, cultural e histórica. Reflexionar sobre la nacionalidad en el cine supone explorar las interconexiones, las mezclas, las porosidades que ponen en tela de juicio una lectura limitada y estrecha de un concepto como el de «nación». Este es el camino por donde este libro pretende ir.

    Description: This study on the debates on the question of alcohol in the socialist parties belonging to the Second International (1889-1914) and in the first years of the Russian Revolution aims to show how socialist organizations tried to address the fight against addictions in the heart of the working class. The socialists argued that addictions, as a social phenomenon, are the product of the conditions generated by capitalist exploitation, and therefore cannot be combated with punishment, but must be treated, on the one hand, through social reforms, and on the another, like any other disease, with medical treatment. At the same time, they argued that one of the main sources of the abuse of drink among the working masses was the despair and indifferentism resulting from it, and that the fight against addictions could only be waged by inspiring the workers with a cause to fight for. , that is, with a higher ideal of life like the one offered by socialism.

Su propósito es demostrar que se puede hablar de secularización en España antes de que la noción tenga efectiva productividad jurídica y constitucional. El periodo elegido (1700-1845) es precisamente época clave de las interrogaciones sobre secularización de lo político; pero tales interrogaciones son heterogéneas, ya que la propia idea de secularización se pone a debate y está sometida a múltiples bloqueos. Parece empezar a funcionar entonces un proceso de secularización social y cultural antes que político. En efecto, la influencia secularizadora de las ideas de la Ilustración conlleva cambios sociales y nuevas prácticas culturales, científicas y artísticas, que transforman, hasta en el seno de la Iglesia, la percepción de lo sagrado. Al intentar dar respuesta a estas preguntas, esta obra intenta revalorar el episodio imperial como parte integral de la historia mexicana.

Este acontecimiento fue sumamente controvertido tanto en el seno de la organización como al interior de nuestro país. La OCDE no había aceptado el ingreso de otros candidatos por más de veinte años y había concentrado sus actividades solamente entre sus miembros tradicionales. Asimismo, México se sumaba a lo que hasta entonces se consideraba como un "club exclusivo" que integraba a los países capitalistas más desarrollados del planeta ¿Cómo se desenvolvió el inicio de la participación de México en la OCDE y en qué momento ambos actores internacionales se hicieron convergentes? ¿De qué manera fue posible que una organización hermética, y que hallaba su identidad en una tajante división del mundo según los niveles de desarrollo de cada Estado, aceptase la membresía de un país de menor desarrollo relativo? ¿Bajo qué restricciones México se alineó a los objetivos y valores de la OCDE y qué consecuencias se fueron derivando de lo anterior? Finalmente, ¿cuáles han sido a lo largo del tiempo los costos y beneficios reales de la participación de un país como México en una organización como la OCDE, así como la posición e influencia que cada uno ha manejado con respecto al otro? La autora responde a estas preguntas a partir de una evaluación sobre la incidencia que de 1994 a 2002 ambos actores tuvieron tanto hacia su contraparte como hacia el contexto internacional en su conjunto.

José Carlos Mariátegui es, en cierta medida, atrevido, por cuanto se considera que las obras completas, es decir, todos los escritos de Mariátegui están publicados, según se tiene conocimiento. Pese a dichas publicaciones, las lecturas de sus fuentes directas (léase, revistas de 1928) prospera ron y tomaron dimensiones para la decisión de compilar los escritos y cotejar con las posteriores publicaciones. Entendemos por inédito lo no publicado y estaría en contradicción si las obras de Mariátegui hubieran sido publicadas en su totalidad. Pero existe un enigma para los que desean leer y confiar en esa llamada totalidad. No hay nada más inquietante para un acucioso lector que indagar las fuentes directas como si en la indagación se tratara de manuscritos, y estas fuentes, indudablemente, son los primeros escritos de Mariátegui en distintas revistas de su época (consideramos aquí 1928). Y esta edición crítica nos presenta la compilación de los escritos de Mariátegui poco conocidos, digámoslo de alguna manera, como «manuscritos» o «inéditos», porque fueron archivados, y no tuvieron la disposición de su reedición. No nos plantearemos sus razones, sólo dejamos constancia de ello como un acto irresoluto.

En particular, se muestra que al tiempo que cayeron las exportaciones de México, se dinamizaron los mercados internos y se sentaron así las bases para la acumulación de capital productivo en el país.     Description: La obra económica de Víctor Urquidi es amplísima: abarca más de seis décadas completas, desde su regreso a México al terminar sus estudios en la London School of Economics en 1940 hasta su fallecimiento en 2004. En este volumen se presenta sólo una breve selección, que tal vez da el sabor, pero no el alcance completo del trabajo de Urquidi en los diversos temas de economía que abordó a lo largo de dicho periodo. En esta selección se ha buscado presentar trabajos que fueron pioneros por su enfoque, por su tema o que permanecen vigentes por el interés de los temas que abordan. Muchos de los temas tratados por Urquidi en los años cuarenta o cincuenta siguen aún sin resolverse; es triste admitir que en muchos de ellos no ha habido avances significativos. Estos temas representan la esencia de la problemática nacional.

    Description: Confesar y comulgar, cuando menos una vez al año por Pascua Florida, era el deber más visible y, por tanto, más exigible en el orden eclesiástico de la sociedad novohispana. Durante la cuaresma, el cura debía cerciorarse de que sus feligreses en uso de razón (mayores de 10 años) habían cumplido con el precepto pascual. Recorría el territorio de su parroquia exigiendo, casa por casa, la "cédula de confesión", que acreditaba la salud del alma. Siguiendo a los curas del Sagrario de la Catedral Metropolitana, la autora estudia padrones de confesión de los años 1670 a 1825.
