    Description: According to a well-established Italian university tradition, the verification of learning of a subject belonging to the cultural area of the 'STEM disciplines' involves passing a written test and an oral test. While the latter is intended as verification of the acquisition of both the conceptual foundations and the theoretical formalism of the discipline, the written test is intended to verify problem solving skills according to the "knowing means knowing how to do" paradigm, of whose formative validity the authors of this manual are convinced supporters. Usually there are many very good textbooks that cover the theoretical part, while there are chronically few textbooks that propose problems at the right level of complexity, also offering detailed and commented solutions. This is particularly true for those disciplines corresponding to the last year of the three-year cycle of a Bachelor's degree. In order to at least partially fill this gap, a textbook is proposed here that brings together a rich and varied series of problems (with solutions and comments) in the physics of atoms, molecules and crystalline solids. These topics, which constitute an indispensable body of knowledge in modern physics, represent the core of the discipline 'Structure of Matter', as defined by the Italian university taxonomy.

    Description: Secondo una consolidata tradizione universitaria italiana, la verifica dell’apprendimento di una materia appartenente all’area culturale delle “discipline STEM” prevede il superamento di una prova scritta e di una prova orale. Mentre quest’ultima è intesa come verifica di acquisizione tanto dei fondamenti concettuali quanto del formalismo teorico della disciplina, la prova scritta intende verificare le capacità di problem solving secondo il paradigma “sapere significa saper fare”, della cui validità formativa gli Autori di questo manuale sono convinti sostenitori. Usualmente esistono molti validissimi manuali che coprono la parte teorica, mentre è cronicamente scarso il numero di manuali che propongano problemi al giusto livello di complessità, offrendone anche la dettagliata e commentata soluzione. Questo è particolarmente vero per quelle discipline che corrispondono all’ultimo anno del ciclo triennale di una laurea di primo livello. Al fine di colmare almeno parzialmente questa lacuna, qui viene proposto un manuale che raccoglie una ricca e variegata serie di problemi (con soluzioni e commenti) di fisica degli atomi, delle molecole e dei solidi cristallini. Questi argomenti, che costituiscono un irrinunciabile corpus di conoscenze in fisica moderna, rappresentano il cuore della disciplina “Struttura della Materia”, come definita dalla tassonomia universitaria italiana.

    Description: For several years now, the University of Cagliari has been committed to the adoption of policies in the field of sustainability that have been translated into strategic goals to be achieved through concrete actions consistent with the Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda and the related National and Regional Strategy on Sustainable Development. Especially in recent years, there has been a growing focus on integrated management of the environmental and social impacts of sustainability arising from the many activities that are carried out daily by the University, which produce an impact both in terms of ecological footprint and social spillovers. In fact, sustainability is a value that cuts across all of the University's activities. The purpose of this document is to describe the most significant steps taken in recent years by the University along the complex path of sustainable development, to give evidence of the efforts made to achieve the goals but also the aspects that still need to be strengthened.

    Description: Da diversi anni ormai l’Università di Cagliari è impegnata nell’adozione di politiche nel campo della sostenibilità che si sono tradotte in obiettivi strategici da raggiungere attraverso azioni concrete coerenti con gli Obiettivi dell’Agenda ONU 2030 e con la relativa Strategia nazionale e regionale sullo Sviluppo sostenibile. Soprattutto negli ultimi anni è stata crescente l’attenzione verso una gestione integrata degli impatti ambientali e sociali della sostenibilità derivanti dalle molteplici attività che quotidianamente vengono realizzate dall’Università, le quali producono un impatto sia in termini di impronta ecologica sia di ricadute a livello sociale. La sostenibilità è infatti un valore trasversale a tutte le attività dell’Ateneo.     Description: For several years now, the University of Cagliari has been committed to the adoption of policies in the field of sustainability that have been translated into strategic goals to be achieved through concrete actions consistent with the Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda and the related National and Regional Strategy on Sustainable Development. Especially in recent years, there has been a growing focus on integrated management of the environmental and social impacts of sustainability arising from the many activities that are carried out daily by the University, which produce an impact both in terms of ecological footprint and social spillovers. In fact, sustainability is a value that cuts across all of the University's activities. The purpose of this document is to describe the most significant steps taken in recent years by the University along the complex path of sustainable development, to give evidence of the efforts made to achieve the goals but also the aspects that still need to be strengthened.

Soprattutto negli ultimi anni è stata crescente l’attenzione verso una gestione integrata degli impatti ambientali e sociali della sostenibilità derivanti dalle molteplici attività che quotidianamente vengono realizzate dall’Università, le quali producono un impatto sia in termini di impronta ecologica sia di ricadute a livello sociale. La sostenibilità è infatti un valore trasversale a tutte le attività dell’Ateneo. Scopo di questo documento è descrivere i passi più significativi compiuti in questi anni dall’Ateneo lungo il complesso percorso dello sviluppo sostenibile, per dare testimonianza degli sforzi profusi per raggiungere gli obiettivi ma anche degli aspetti che devono essere ancora rafforzati.

    Description: Love for a woman is the theme that engages Italian poets more than any other from the 13th to the late 16th century, and the phenomenon has no counterpart in cultures related to our own. What must be the reason for such success? This study offers an explanation: the Provençal troubadours linked erotic love to a moral problematic, and the Italians, starting with the poets of the Sicilian school, preserved this link but problematised it in a new way, and the same happened with the Siculo-Tuscan poets, the Stilnovists and even Dante, in whom love becomes a scientific and philosophical and theological problem. But enfin Pétrarque vint, and set the story of his love as a 'spiritual exercise', discovering conscience and will as indispensable factors in a heroic struggle towards wisdom and then towards salus eterna. And it was the model that won over generations of 'heroic' love poets. These in turn brought variations: in the 15th century, poetry became a source of 'fame', and in the 16th century, it prompted contemplation of divine beauty. Meanwhile, the natural and indispensable eros in love emerged. Marino wrote a 'song of kisses', and the Adonis was a poem centred on erotic love: thus love's link to morality died, and a new one was born, linking venereal love to aesthetics.

A cosa sarà dovuto tanto successo? Questo studio offre una spiegazione: i trovatori provenzali legarono l’amore erotico ad una problematica morale, e gli italiani, a cominciare dai poeti della scuola siciliana, conservarono questo legame ma lo problematizzarono in modo nuovo, e lo stesso accadde con i poeti siculo-toscani, con gli stilnovisti e persino con Dante, nei quali l’amore diventa un problema scientifico e filosofico e teologico. Ma enfin Pétrarque vint, e impostò la storia del suo amore come un “esercizio spirituale”, scoprendo la coscienza e la volontà come fattori indispensabili in una lotta eroica verso la saggezza e poi verso la salus eterna. E fu il modello che conquistò generazioni di poeti “eroi” dell’amore. Questi a loro volta apportarono delle varianti: nel ’400, la poesia diventò fonte di “fama”, e nel ’500 spingeva a contemplare la bellezza divina. Nel frattempo emerse l’eros naturale e indispensabile nell’amore. Marino scrive una “canzone dei baci”, e l’Adone è un poema incentrato sull’amore erotico: muore così il legame dell’amore con la morale, e ne nasce uno nuovo che lega l’amore venereo all’estetica.

    Description: This volume collects the results of the University of Cagliari's two-year research project "Trafficking between languages: idioms in contact in pre-unitary Sardinia," funded under the three-year agreement between the Fondazione di Sardegna and Sardinian Universities (Year 2020). The main objective of the research was to examine the linguistic contact between Sardinian, Italian and Castilian in the textual production of Sardinia, captured at the time of the transition from Iberian domination to Savoy rule. The synchronic chronological scope is identified mainly in the Sardinian eighteenth century, with some encroachment into the early nineteenth century, but the perspective framework rests on the cross-cultural and multilingual dynamics of the seventeenth century. The perimeter of investigation consists of a wide repertoire of texts written in Sardinian, Italian and Spanish, manuscript and printed, not only of a literary nature: it is a production as abundant and heterogeneous as ever, ranging from legal-administrative documentation to didactic literature, in which the new progressive spirit of the Enlightenment flows, up to treatises of a historiographic, lexicographic and historical-linguistic slant, in which reflection on the question of language takes shape.

    Description: Il volume raccoglie i risultati del progetto di ricerca biennale dell’Università di Cagliari «Trafficking between languages»: idioms in contact in pre-unitary Sardinia, finanziato nell’ambito della Convenzione triennale tra la Fondazione di Sardegna e gli Atenei Sardi (annualità 2020). La ricerca ha avuto come obiettivo principale la disamina del contatto linguistico tra sardo, italiano e castigliano nella produzione testuale di Sardegna, colta nel momento del trapasso dalla dominazione iberica al governo sabaudo. L’ambito cronologico sincronico è individuato prevalentemente nel Settecento sardo, con qualche sconfinamento nel primo Ottocento, ma il quadro prospettico poggia sulle dinamiche interculturali e multilingui del Seicento. Il perimetro d’indagine è costituito da un ampio repertorio di testi redatti in sardo, in italiano e in spagnolo, manoscritti e a stampa, di carattere non solo letterario: si tratta di una produzione quanto mai abbondante ed eterogenea che spazia dalla documentazione giuridico-amministrativa alla letteratura didascalica, in cui scorre il nuovo spirito progressista dell’Illuminismo, sino alla trattatistica di taglio storiografico, lessicografico e storico-linguistico, in cui prende forma la riflessione sulla questione della lingua.

    Description: Dwelling can be conceived as making sense of a portion of space or as a condition of possibility of human existence; besides, there exist innumerable situations d’habiter, that is, the particular modalities with which human groups settle in specific places or with which individuals organise their lives. In any case, as dwelling precisely involves the very essence of mankind, it constitutes a crossroads in which various fields of knowledge and several practices enter in a dialogue, up to the point of re-discussing their status on different levels, from the anthropological one to the more specifically methodological or procedural one. The contributions of this volume try to reflect on the meaning of dwelling, involving philosophical and architectural discourse, historical and ethno-anthropological investigation, the contributions of geography, the artistic experience and the literary and cinematographic horizons.

    Description: The conception of sustainability, in land governance, goes beyond environmental protection in that, beyond the environmental profile, it includes the economic and social profile. It therefore highlights the need to make the requirements of economic development compatible with those of natural resource protection, equity and social progress. With this in mind, the Region of Sardinia has approved the Regional Strategy for Sustainable Development (SRSvS), as a declination of the National Strategy, consistent with the United Nations 2030 Agenda. This volume presents and discusses the results of the research developed during the SOSLabs Research Laboratory of the SOSLabs1 Project, conducted, at the University of Cagliari, under the call issued in 2019 by the Directorate General for Sustainable Development, Environmental Damage and Relations with the European Union of the then Ministry of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea (now the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security). The outcomes are based on a methodological approach that integrates SRSvS into the practice of spatial and urban planning in the municipal and metropolitan context, through a model in which plan construction is permeated by assessment. Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) is taken as the scientific and technical reference, by virtue of its being deeply innervated in the plan process, almost identifying itself with the plan itself, both in the preparatory and implementation phases. The methodology of integrating SRSvS into the planning and evaluation process is applied, experimentally, to two urban plans: the Preliminary Municipal Plan of the Municipality of Cagliari and the Plan of the Tepilora Regional Nature Park.

    Description: La concezione della sostenibilità, nel governo del territorio, va oltre la tutela dell’ambiente in quanto, oltre il profilo ambientale, include quelli economici e sociali. Si evidenzia, quindi, la necessità di rendere compatibili le esigenze dello sviluppo economico con quelle della tutela delle risorse naturali, e dell’equità e del progresso sociale. In quest’ottica, la Regione Sardegna ha approvato la Strategia regionale per lo sviluppo sostenibile (SRSvS), quale declinazione della Strategia nazionale, in coerenza con l’Agenda 2030 delle Nazioni Unite. Il volume presenta e discute i risultati di una ricerca sviluppata durante lo svolgimento del Laboratorio di ricercaazione SOSLab1 del Progetto SOSLabs, condotto, presso l’Università di Cagliari, nell’ambito del bando emanato nel 2019 dalla Direzione Generale per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile, per il Danno Ambientale e per i Rapporti con l’Unione Europea dell’allora Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Tutela del territorio e del mare (oggi Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Sicurezza energetica). Gli esiti si basano su un approccio metodologico che integra la SRSvS nella prassi della pianificazione territoriale e urbanistica nel contesto comunale e metropolitano, tramite un modello in cui la costruzione del piano è permeata dalla valutazione. Si assume quale riferimento scientifico e tecnico la valutazione ambientale strategica (VAS), in virtù del suo essere profondamente innervata nel processo di piano, quasi ad identificarsi con il piano stesso, sia nelle fasi preparatorie, che attuative. La metodologia di integrazione della SRSvS nel processo di pianificazione e valutazione è applicata, sperimentalmente, a due piani urbanistici: il Piano urbanistico comunale preliminare del Comune di Cagliari e il Piano del Parco naturale regionale di Tepilora.

    Description: This volume collects part of the lectures and key-notes given at the 2020 edition of the International Smart City School: imagination, planning, governance and tools. The year's theme, "energies of and for the city," was addressed, as in the school's founding idea, from a multidisciplinary perspective by delving into both possible policy scenarios and more strictly technical aspects. Thus emerges a vision of a city that, to orient its development in terms of smartness, sustainability and resilience, must necessarily combine nature and technology, economy and culture, social cohesion and entrepreneurship, innovation and tradition. In this framework, the Sustainable Development Goal's (SDG's) outlined in the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the ways cities can contribute to their achievement occupy a prominent place. Indeed, the technologies available today make it possible to achieve these goals as well as to respond effectively to the challenges that cities, in their capacity as the main attractors of the world's population, will face thanks to their ability to succeed, when properly implemented, in interpreting the new themes of economic development (circularity, sharing, openess) in a way that ensures equal opportunities for all, intergenerationally and intragenerationally.

    Description: Collection of writings on Salvatore Mannironi's life (1901-1971). Founder of the People's Party after World War I, lawyer and journalist in the 1920s and 1930s in Nuoro, stronghold of the antifascism of an educated and courageous professional bourgeoisie. Mannironi, in the post-World War II period, would be one of the most active members of the Commission of 75 in the Constituent Assembly, later a Christian Democratic parliamentarian for five terms in the House and Senate, undersecretary of key ministries, and finally a minister. Private correspondence, articles, records of the repressive apparatuses during the regime, and parliamentary reports composed a picture that transcends the individual biography by revealing the commitment of the new ruling class, that would build the foundations of the Italian republican democracy by opening it to regional autonomy.

Mannironi, nel secondo dopoguerra, sarà componente tra i più attivi della commissione dei 75 nell’Assemblea Costituente, successivamente parlamentare della Democrazia cristiana per cinque legislature, alla Camera e al Senato, sottosegretario di fondamentali ministeri, infine ministro. L’epistolario privato, gli articoli giornalistici, le schede degli apparati repressivi durante il regime, i resoconti parlamentari hanno composto un quadro che travalica la singola biografia svelando l’impegno della nuova classe dirigente che costruirà le basi della democrazia repubblicana aprendola alle autonomie regionali.

The Project examined the current territory of Cagliari from a "between sea and lagoon" reading perspective, tracing the historical events and the geological and archaeological phenomena of the various settlements, from the Judicial citadel of Sancta Caecilia, Ilia, Ygia, on the shores of the Santa Gilla Lagoon, to the Castel di Castro/Caller with its Appendices of medieval and modern times. Following the same time frame, the Proceedings of the Conference sees the light of day in two parts, the first of which focuses on the historical-urban affairs of the buried and almost forgotten Sancta Caecilia, Sancta Ygia. The second, on the other hand, deals with Cagliari in the modern age, focusing on the political-institutional, economic, social and settlement aspects of the port district, which was more linked to the lagoon and the sea, as with other cities of the Hispanic Monarchy.

Aspetti archeologici, geologici, storici, insediativi e sociali, finanziato nell’ambito della Legge Regionale 7 agosto 2007, n. 7: “Promozione della ricerca scientifica e dell’innovazione tecnologica in Sardegna”. progetti di ricerca di base”, presentato dal CNRISEM (PI Marcello Verga, al quale è succeduta Maria Grazia Mele), insieme all’Università di Cagliari (coord. dell’Unità di Ricerca n. 1 Rossana Martorelli). Il Progetto ha esaminato l’attuale territorio di Cagliari in una prospettiva di lettura “tra mare e laguna”, ripercorrendo gli eventi storici e i fenomeni geologici e archeologici dei vari abitati, dalla cittadella giudicale di Sancta Caecilia, Ilia, Ygia, sulle sponde della Laguna di Santa Gilla, al Castel di Castro/Caller con le sue Appendici di età medievale e moderna. Seguendo la medesima scansione temporale, gli Atti del Convegno vedono la luce in due parti, di cui la prima si concentra sulla vicenda storico-urbanistica della sepolta e quasi dimenticata Sancta Caecilia, Sancta Ygia. La seconda invece, tratta di Cagliari in età moderna, focalizzando l’attenzione sugli aspetti politico-istituzionali, economici, sociali e insediativi del quartiere portuale, maggiormente legato alla laguna e al mare, come per altre città della Monarchia ispanica.

    Description: Over the past three decades, there has been a growing interest in the link between severe visual disorders (low vision and blindness) and the presence of autism spectrum disorders. Starting from an approach that focuses on the centrality of the person and adopts a biopsychosocial perspective, the text aims to investigate this comorbidity, proposing research questions, theoretical reflections, and intervention insights. In particular, the text focuses on the following themes: the importance of sensitive and specific diagnostic tools and pathways for the early detection of visual impairment from the earliest stages of development in people with autism spectrum disorders; the importance of specific intervention approaches that take into account the distinctiveness related to this comorbidity and allow supporting and promoting the developmental potential of people with this comorbidity; and the importance of informing and training, through a collaborative and person-centered approach, family members, caregivers, teachers, educators, pedagogues and other professionals in the field of inclusion.

Partendo da un approccio che si focalizza sulla centralità della persona ed adotta un’ottica biopsicosociale, il testo intende indagare questa comorbidità, proponendo quesiti di ricerca, riflessioni di natura teorica e spunti di intervento. In particolare il testo si focalizza sui seguenti temi: l’importanza di strumenti e percorsi diagnostici sensibili e specifici per la rilevazione precoce dei disturbi visivi sin dalle prime fasi dello sviluppo in persone con disturbi dello spettro autistico, l’importanza di approcci di intervento specifici che tengano conto della peculiarità legate a questa comorbidità e consentano di sostenere e promuovere il potenziale di sviluppo delle persone che presentano questa comorbidità, l’importanza di informare e formare, araverso un approccio collaborativo e centrato sulla persona, familiari, caregivers, insegnanti, educatori, pedagogisti ed altri professionisti nel campo dell’inclusione.

    Description: In recent decades, university degree programs have undergone a partial shift in their meaning and orientation, seeing an increase in the prominence of the professionalizing aspects of the training imparted. This partial shift in the direction of training has also entailed greater interaction with the world of work, with a view to an education in which the centrality of male and female students and the building of germinal foundations for their future were fundamental criteria. In this regard, the experience of curricular internships of first professional training was initiated and gradually increased in some degree programs. This occurred significantly in the three-year and specialized, later and still called master's degrees, of the educational and pedagogical field. The present volume aims to witness and analyze the specificity of these internships, as they developed in the courses of the relevant degrees at the University of Cagliari, in the period before the pandemic and during it. To do so, the theoretical-practical frame of reference is first outlined, and then the various actors involved, faculty, students and graduates, and representatives of the internship host institutions, are given the floor to narrate their experiences and to read and evaluate their main strengths and weaknesses.

    Description: Negli ultimi decenni, i corsi di laurea universitari hanno conosciuto una parziale modifica del loro senso e orientamento, vedendo crescere il rilievo degli aspetti professionalizzanti della formazione impartita. Questo spostamento parziale della direzione formativa ha comportato anche una maggiore interazione con il mondo del lavoro, nell’ottica di una formazione in cui la centralità di studenti e studentesse e della costruzione di basi germinali per il loro futuro risultassero criteri fondamentali. A tale riguardo, in alcuni corsi di laurea è stata avviata e progressivamente incrementata l’esperienza di tirocini curricolari di prima formazione professionale. Ciò è avvenuto in maniera significativa nelle triennali e specialistiche, in seguito e tuttora denominate magistrali, dell’ambito educativo e pedagogico. Con i commi 594-601 della legge 205 del 2017, tali corsi sono stati anche formalmente riconosciuti come deputati alla formazione rispettivamente degli educatori sociopedagogici e dei pedagogisti. Il presente volume intende testimoniare e analizzare la specificità di questi tirocini, per come si sono sviluppati nei percorsi delle relative lauree dell’Università di Cagliari, nel periodo precedente la pandemia e durante la stessa. Per fare ciò, viene delineato dapprima il quadro teorico-pratico di riferimento, e successivamente viene data la parola ai diversi attori coinvolti, docenti, studenti e laureati, rappresentanti degli enti ospitanti i tirocini, affinché narrino le esperienze e ne leggano e valutino i principali punti di forza e debolezza.

    Description: This volume presents the outcomes of a research, still in progress, on the contribution of Egle Renata Trincanato (1910-1998) to the discipline of Restoration. The study is part of a broader research carried out within the Chair of Restoration at the University of Cagliari, coordinated by Caterina Giannattasio, aimed at integrating the state of the art with the contribution of female figures who have worked in the field of cultural heritage intervention. The investigation presented here was conducted from the exploration of the archival fund kept at the Project Archive of the IUAV in Venice. The intention is to frame the scholar's thought in the context of the Second Postwar period, at a time when the issue of safeguarding the historic city is at the center of national and international debate. Trincanato, interweaving expertise in reading the urban fabric, a commitment to city preservation and a keen sensitivity to social issues, plays a crucial role in declining the discipline of Restoration to the urban scale.

Lo studio fa parte di una ricerca più ampia svolta in seno alla cattedra di Restauro dell’Università degli Studi di Cagliari, coordinata da Caterina Giannattasio, tesa a integrare lo stato dell’arte con il contributo delle figure femminili che hanno operato nell’ambito dell’intervento sul patrimonio culturale. L’indagine qui presentata è stata condotta a partire dall’esplorazione del fondo d’archivio conservato presso l’Archivio Progetti dello IUAV di Venezia. L’intento è quello di inquadrare il pensiero della studiosa nel contesto del Secondo Dopoguerra, in un momento in cui il tema della salvaguardia della città storica è al centro del dibattitto nazionale e internazionale. Trincanato, intrecciando le competenze nella lettura del tessuto urbano, l’impegno nella tutela della città e la spiccata sensibilità per i temi sociali, svolge un ruolo cruciale nella declinazione alla scala urbana della disciplina del Restauro.

    Description: The content of this volume correspond to the desire to highlight the history of the re-founding of the University of Cagliari in the eighteenth century, through the publication of a series of documents related to the reform of university teaching, investigated both through the voice of one of the University's first and most illustrious professors, Liberato Fassoni, and in relation to the theme of book circulation and in particular to the bibliographic presences that characterize the eighteenth-century collection of the Scolopi Library. The investigations carried out show how unitary plots and connecting threads between the Library's layout and its most direct users can be reconstructed. On the occasion of the celebrations of the four hundredth anniversary of the founding of the University of Cagliari, it is worth emphasizing the importance of the sources presented, which show how articulate and complex the history of the University is and how much the eighteenth-century experience still offers.

    Description: L’obiettivo del convegno, in linea con le precedenti iniziative, è stato quello di stimolare il confronto tra i ricercatori che, nei rispettivi settori disciplinari (fisica, ingegneria, biologia, medicina, epidemiologia), contribuiscono attivamente allo sviluppo delle conoscenze nell’ambito del bioelettromagnetismo e delle interazione tra campi elettromagnetici e biosistemi. I contributi riguardano le seguenti, ma non esclusive, tematiche: i) studio degli effetti dei campi elettromagnetici in vivo, in vitro, sull’uomo (studi di laboratorio e/o epidemiologici), ii) esposizione/dosimetria, iii) applicazioni biomedicali, iv) meccanismi di interazione e v) food engineering.

    Description: Rather, the "scraps" collected in this volume are "fragments" understood in the Petrarchan sense, as flakes of an organic whole, as moments that give a sense of what time is. Petrarch is an accessible author because he is flat and elegant, but he is actually scholarly without being ostentatious about it, so it is surprising every time one discovers a web of literary allusions behind dimly presented data. Each "remnant" bears witness to these occasional discoveries, to readings that seek not allegorical "supersense" but the scholarly undercurrent of this writing. An early section points to the "solitary life" as the matrix of this familiarity and intimacy with ancient texts. Another and more extensive section identifies specific "sources" on points where one would not suspect their presence. Another group concerns Petrarch's fortunes, that is, the different readings of his work given in different environments and eras. Finally, an essay on the "private" world of the author, who fights against superstitions but does not feel completely freed from them. Thus not an "organic" book in the traditional sense, and yet a unified work in that it is devoted to the reconstruction of a style of work and the various ways of enjoying it.

    Description: Gli “scampoli” raccolti in questo volume sono piuttosto dei “frammenti” intesi nell’accezione petrarchesca, come scaglie di un complesso organico, come attimi che danno la percezione di cosa sia il tempo. Petrarca è un autore accessibile perché piano ed elegante, ma in realtà è dottissimo senza farne ostentazione, per cui sorprende ogni volta che si scopre una trama di allusioni letterarie dietro a dati presentati in modo dimesso. Ogni “scampolo” è la testimonianza di queste occasionali scoperte, di letture che non cercano il “soprasenso” allegorico, ma il sottofondo erudito di questa scrittura. Una sezione iniziale indica nella “vita solitaria” la matrice di questa familiarità e intimità con i testi antichi. Un’altra sezione e più estesa individua “fonti” specifiche su punti dove non se ne sospetterebbe la presenza. Un altro gruppo riguarda la fortuna di Petrarca, ossia le diverse letture della sua opera date in ambienti e in epoche diverse. Infine un saggio sul mondo “privato” dell’autore che combatte contro le superstizioni ma non si sente del tutto affrancato da queste. Quindi non un libro “organico” nel senso tradizionale, e tuttavia un lavoro unitario in quanto dedicato alla ricostruzione di uno stile di lavoro e ai vari modi di fruirlo.

    Description: With his Manualetto, Giovanni Lupinu offers a nimble tool for students and enthusiasts who want to delve into Sardinian linguistics studies. The approach of the work is essentially historical and the organization of the subject traditional: in the first part, after providing a brief genealogical framework of Sardinian and discussing the linguistic Romanization of the island, there is a section on historical phonetics that aims to account for the elements that, from this perspective, mainly contribute to the dialectal fragmentation of the Sardinian-speaking domain; this is followed by more essential hints on morphology. The second part of the work deals with the (external) history of the language, following the model made canonical by Max Leopold Wagner: it starts from the pre-Latin substratum and goes all the way to linguistic Italianization in relatively recent times, leaving room as well for sociolinguistic considerations.

    Description: Col suo Manualetto, Giovanni Lupinu offre uno strumento agile a studenti e appassionati che vogliano addentrarsi negli studi di linguistica sarda. L’impostazione del lavoro è di tipo essenzialmente storico e l’organizzazione della materia tradizionale: nella prima parte, dopo aver fornito un breve inquadramento genealogico del sardo e aver discusso della romanizzazione linguistica dell’isola, si ha una sezione di fonetica storica che mira a dar conto degli elementi che, da questa prospettiva, concorrono principalmente alla frammentazione dialettale del dominio sardoromanzo; seguono cenni più essenziali di morfologia. Nella seconda parte dell’opera si affronta la storia (esterna) della lingua, seguendo il modello reso canonico da Max Leopold Wagner: si parte dal sostrato prelatino e si arriva sino all’italianizzazione linguistica in tempi relativamente recenti, lasciando spazio pure a considerazioni di carattere sociolinguistico.
