    Beschreibung: Neukantianismus, Phänomenologie und Kulturphilosophie: Die Forschungsinteressen Christian Möckels sind vielfältig. Seine Arbeiten zu Max Adler, Edmund Husserl und Ernst Cassirer sowie seine editorische Tätigkeit als Herausgeber des Cassirer-Nachlasses haben dazu beigetragen, eine Vielfalt von Themenbereichen und philosophischen Kreisen miteinander zu verknüpfen. Eine Philosophie der Kultur und der Gesellschaft als systematische Einheit auszuführen und sie in der pragmatischen Richtung einer politischen Philosophie auszubauen: darin sieht Christian Möckel die Relevanz einer Philosophie, die sich zwar als Wissenschaft versteht, doch über die theoretische Dimension hinaus das Projekt der Aufklärung als Selbstverständnis des freien Menschen zu verwirklichen anstrebt. In seiner jahrzehntelangen Tätigkeit als Hochschullehrer an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin hat Christian Möckel viele Wissenschaftler*innen aus allen Kontinenten beraten und bei ihren Recherchen unterstützt. Diese Festschrift greift die Themen seiner Forschung auf und zeigt zugleich die Diversität der Interessen seiner Schüler*innen und Kolleg*innen, die ihm mit diesem Band Dank aussprechen und seine Arbeit würdigen möchten.

    Beschreibung: Das Werk des dänischen Theologen und Philosophen Sören Kierkegaard (1813-1855) galt lange als apolitisch und der sozialen Wirklichkeit gleichgültig gegenüberstehend. Kierkegaards Kernbegriffe " Verzweiflung glqq und " Glaube glqq und seine zentrale Kategorie des " Einzelnen glqq ließen das stereotype Bild von Kierkegaard als Denker eines isolierten Individuums entstehen, das sich bis heute gehalten hat. Ziel der vorliegenden Untersuchung ist es, dieses Bild zu korrigieren. Kierkegaards Denken, so soll argumentiert werden, enthält soziopolitische Implikationen, die sein gesamtes Werk durchziehen. Diese können heute nicht nur im Rahmen gesellschaftskritischer Überlegungen Beachtung finden, sondern erweisen sich darüber hinaus als äußerst anschlussfähig für zeitgenössische Diskussionen um den Begriff des Politischen.

    Beschreibung: Das Vergleichen philosophischer Texte gehört zum Hauptgeschäft der philosophischen Forschung. Sie setzt dabei oft Sichtweisen voraus, die sie zur Lektüre schon mitbringt. Dabei besteht stets die Gefahr, dass diese Sichtweisen ungewollt die Lektüre steuern: Wahrgenommen wird dann nur das, was einem die eigenen Voraussetzungen zu sehen erlauben. Daniel-Pascal Zorn stellt sich dieser Herausforderung. Er entwickelt eine radikal immanente Vergleichsmethode, die ganz ohne textäußere Kontexte auskommt. Im Zentrum steht dabei das Konzept der Reflexivität, die sich in philosophischen Begründungsfiguren, Prinzipien und Problemen ebenso wiederfinden lässt, wie in ihrer expliziten Thematisierung durch die philosophischen Texte selbst. Zorn entwickelt seinen Gedanken in Auseinandersetzung mit über 40 verschiedenen Philosophen, darunter Platon und Plotin, Hölderlin und Fichte, Spinoza und Kant. Er spannt damit zugleich einen Bogen, der über 2500 Jahre Philosophiegeschichte reicht. Das Buch eignet sich durch seinen didaktischen Aufbau hervorragend als Einführung in und Handbuch für die von Zorn vorgestellte Lektürehinsicht. Die Arbeit wurde mit dem Dissertationspreis der Eichstätter Universitätsgesellschaft 2015 ausgezeichnet.

    Beschreibung: Die Arbeit untersucht die kritischen Projekte Friedrich Nietzsches und Emmanuel Lévinas', die auf je eigene Weise gegen den aus ihrer Sicht totalitär-indifferenten Charakter der epistemologischen und moralischen Diskurse des Abendlandes andenken. Nietzsche optiert gegen den Primat des Allgemeinen für eine leiblich fundierte Ethik der Selbstbestimmung, Lévinas hingegen für eine Ethik der lebendigen Verantwortung im Angesicht des anderen Menschen. Verhandelt werden hier die Schnittmengen und Trennlinien zweier Denker, die in ihren asymmetrischen Ethik-Konzepten mehr gemeinsam haben, als es zunächst scheint. Der Autor möchte mit den vermeintlichen Antipoden Nietzsche und Lévinas daran erinnern, dass die Verantwortung des Einzelnen über jede Kodifizierung erhaben bleibt.
