    Beschreibung: La narración es una herramienta educativa de primer orden. Con el denominado «giro narrativo» en el ámbito de las ciencias sociales, el interés por sus diversas formas y contextos no ha dejado de aumentar, hasta el punto de generar una nueva disciplina: la narratología. Sin embargo, su repercusión tanto en el ámbito educativo de la escuela, como en la educación social y el trabajo social, no ha sido tan amplia. Este libro expone teorías pedagógicas, metodologías con ejemplos de su aplicación: desde las historias de vida y las autobiografías hasta los relatos digitales, en varios contextos sociales y etapas vitales (el aula, la prisión, la inmigración, la formación de profesionales, la vejez), y recoge aportaciones de autores italianos, sudamericanos y españoles, todos con una vasta experiencia en este campo.

    Beschreibung: The volume is a comprehensive handbook of oral history and memory studies in Finland. The Finnish research field has originally emerged at the collaborative intersection of history, folklore studies, and ethnology. Since then, this field has developed into vibrant multi- and cross-disciplinary arena characterized by a strong focus on methodological issues related to memory in culture and theoretical engagement with studies on narration and processes of remembering. The chapters of the book explore the perspectives on the production of memory-based knowledge in oral history interviews and collection campaigns of written reminiscences. Moreover, the book introduces versatile methodological approaches to the study of memory and memories, ranging from narrative to corpus analysis, and investigates the multiple media of remembrance from documentary film to museum exhibition. The chapters of the book also engage the field’s disciplinary position and interrogate the potentials and challenges related to the application of the methods of oral history research and the use of memory-based knowledge beyond academia in political, societal, and community-based projects.

    Beschreibung: This collection deals with cultural studies in the humanities and the methods it uses. Its authors include scholars of ethnology, anthropology, folkloristics, digital culture research, and study of religions. Its chapters address topics of discussion and debate in humanistic culture research and indicate what tools are currently being used to study cultural phenomena. Various phases of the research process are covered, including epistemology, research ethics, techniques of data collection and analysis, the writing process of research plans, and the process of writing up the analysis. Asimismo, recoge una serie de múltiples discusiones propiciadas desde la visión de la pedagogía, la didáctica, la historia, la sociología, la antropología, la filosofía, entre otras, que fueron compiladas en este trabajo debido a su relación con el entramado educación-cuerpo. Los textos reunidos en esta publicación fueron escritos por diversos investigadores vinculados al Doctorado en Ciencias de la Educación de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata. El objetivo principal fue el de entrelazar reflexiones acerca del cuerpo en lo educativo y de lo educativo en el cuerpo.

Healing practices have often been linked to questions of knowledge, power, politics, and morals. The limits of acceptable healing have been contested by men and women, priests and doctors, elites and commoners, indigenous peoples and colonialists. Successful healers have sometimes been labeled as witches, quacks, or dangerous political agitators. The contributions in this volume concentrate on healing in global history with case studies about Finland, southern Asia and Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean and North America. They discuss medical pluralism and consider the arguments for and against individual healers and different healing systems. The authors focus on the popularity of medical systems, the appropriation and adoption of healing practices in cross-cultural contexts, and the prohibition of certain forms of healing. "

    Beschreibung: El trabajo docente es un mirador central de diversas preocupaciones sobre lo educativo. La construcción de un determinado rol para la tarea de educar tiene una rica historia de prácticas, luchas, debates, disputas y de propuestas. Esas expresiones consolidaron también una imagen social acerca de qué es un/a docente, qué debe esperarse de él/ella y cuáles son sus atributos. La docencia –como trabajo y como rol pedagógico y social– es una de esas prácticas sociales que han sedimentado y cuyos puntos de origen, así como las decisiones que contribuyeron a su conformación, han ido volviéndose cada día menos evidentes. Este libro ofrece un recorrido por una agenda de investigación sobre formación y trabajo docente que vincula las ideas pedagógicas con la materialidad de la escuela, la productividad del currículum, las estrategias de enseñanza, los vínculos y las relaciones que se despliegan con el conocimiento. Para ello, se incorpora, además, una mirada multidimensional sobre los diversos entretelones de la formación y el trabajo docente. A lo largo del trabajo, nos preocupamos por mirar a las instituciones educativas –y a las posiciones docentes en ellas– con una perspectiva compleja, abriéndonos a interpretar más que a validar o a invalidar.

    Beschreibung: The topic of the book is the incremental growth of linguistic knowledge from lexical to structural-cum-textual during the so-called later language development. Language mastery does not presuppose any acquaintance with prescriptive grammar but, instead, concerns the core of language which the so-called consensus principle applies to: the most frequent words and structures are mastered with certainty by everybody, but uncertainty increases as less frequent and more variable phenomena are taken into consideration. It is the goal of the study to make explicit the knowledge that is common to school children of different age groups, and to show how it develops both in its core and in its fringe areas. The mastery of less common aspects exhibits considerable statistical variation. The research embodies methodological pluralism insofar as it has been carried out by means both of the corpus method and the experimental method. Here experimental subsumes writing tasks, paper-and-pencil tests, and behavior under experimental conditions. The amount of participants native in Finnish varies from 300–2000. The book has a bipartite structure: mastery of meanings (Part I), and mastery of forms (Part II).

    Beschreibung: La universidad sufre hoy en día una gran presión burocráti­ca y tecnológica que la está convirtiendo en una institución cada vez más opresiva, rígida y reglamentada, tanto respecto a la creación y difusión del conocimiento como a la docencia y a la relación entre estudiantes y profesores. Afortunadamente todavía queda algo de la libertad que desde siempre ha caracterizado a la universidad. Y, aunque precaria, la libertad sigue siendo la condición de posibilidad de la conversación, que crea el contexto propicio para la aparición del conocimiento y resulta ser la mejor, si no la única, forma de aprender. ¿Qué otro modo hay, si no, de acercarse al misterio de la transmisión, a la incógnita de cómo convertir la experien­cia del profesor en experiencia del estudiante? Estas páginas son una invitación a profundizar en el senti­do y el significado de la enseñanza y el aprendizaje, a acercarse a la esencia misma del mundo universitario y su vivencia.     Beschreibung: The present volume is a multidisciplinary collection of research articles exploring language use, language contact and multilingualism in the history of Turku, the first town in Finland, founded around the turn of the fourteenth century. Consisting of an introduction by the editors and nine case studies in the fields of linguistics, history, archeology, and literary and cultural studies, the volume participates in a wider discussion on multilingual communities while offering a closer look into linguistic encounters in Turku and its immediate vicinity. The volume covers the period from the Middle Ages (c. 1100–1500) to the latter half of the twentieth century. The case studies illustrate the wide array of languages, linguistic varieties and registers that the inhabitants and travellers used in their daily lives, the specific contexts in which certain languages were used, and the effects of these linguistic encounters at personal, social or institutional levels.
