    Description: La narración es una herramienta educativa de primer orden. Con el denominado «giro narrativo» en el ámbito de las ciencias sociales, el interés por sus diversas formas y contextos no ha dejado de aumentar, hasta el punto de generar una nueva disciplina: la narratología. Sin embargo, su repercusión tanto en el ámbito educativo de la escuela, como en la educación social y el trabajo social, no ha sido tan amplia. Este libro expone teorías pedagógicas, metodologías con ejemplos de su aplicación: desde las historias de vida y las autobiografías hasta los relatos digitales, en varios contextos sociales y etapas vitales (el aula, la prisión, la inmigración, la formación de profesionales, la vejez), y recoge aportaciones de autores italianos, sudamericanos y españoles, todos con una vasta experiencia en este campo.

Los textos reunidos en esta publicación fueron escritos por diversos investigadores vinculados al Doctorado en Ciencias de la Educación de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata.     Description: Discursive study of religion (DSR) has become an increasingly recognised and applied approach to the study of religion. It asks: What passes for ‘religion’ in society? How do different constructions of ‘religion’ affect other social spheres such as politics, law, and everyday life, and vice versa? In this collection, Finnish scholars—many of them internationally recognized authorities on the subject—discuss DSR’s theoretical underpinnings, map the variety of discursive approaches, and apply the approach to case studies of politics, spirituality, and history.     Description: Valco (1976–1980) was a state-owned company that manufactured cathode ray tubes for the television industry. The company’s scandalous failure has been widely identified as one of the largest investment errors in Finland’s economic history. This book is the first in-depth study of the roots, events, and consequences of that project. This study analyses Valco from a microhistorical perspective, looking at the numerous factors that led to its failure, from the company’s founding process to investigations after its demise. These events are linked to broader phenomena in economic and business history, such as the changing economic policy of the government and the emergence of global supply chains in the electronics industry. Valco is a significant single case with a concrete impact on Finland’s economic history. First, it changed the general perception of state-owned companies and, because of this, also more general perceptions of the role of the state in the economy. As a result, the initiative to develop the electronics industry was transferred to private companies such as Nokia. Second, Valco’s case revealed the problems of state ownership of companies in a very concrete way. Due to Valco’s failure, the objectives of state ownership were clarified, and the corporate governance system was modernised. In this way, Valco is linked to the modernization of Finnish state capitalism from the 1970s onwards.

    Description: El trabajo docente es un mirador central de diversas preocupaciones sobre lo educativo. La construcción de un determinado rol para la tarea de educar tiene una rica historia de prácticas, luchas, debates, disputas y de propuestas. Esas expresiones consolidaron también una imagen social acerca de qué es un/a docente, qué debe esperarse de él/ella y cuáles son sus atributos. La docencia –como trabajo y como rol pedagógico y social– es una de esas prácticas sociales que han sedimentado y cuyos puntos de origen, así como las decisiones que contribuyeron a su conformación, han ido volviéndose cada día menos evidentes. Este libro ofrece un recorrido por una agenda de investigación sobre formación y trabajo docente que vincula las ideas pedagógicas con la materialidad de la escuela, la productividad del currículum, las estrategias de enseñanza, los vínculos y las relaciones que se despliegan con el conocimiento. Para ello, se incorpora, además, una mirada multidimensional sobre los diversos entretelones de la formación y el trabajo docente. A lo largo del trabajo, nos preocupamos por mirar a las instituciones educativas –y a las posiciones docentes en ellas– con una perspectiva compleja, abriéndonos a interpretar más que a validar o a invalidar.

    Description: The book focuses on intangible and tangible heritage, language and vernacular religion of the Ingrians, Setos and Votes, three Finnic ethnic minorities sharing a long-standing identification with the Russian Orthodox faith. Written by 16 authors, the chapters are mainly based on nineteenth- and twentieth-century materials. The research history and collecting of folklore are also discussed.The historical area of the Ingrians and Votes is located in Ingria, adjacent to St. Petersburg, while the Setos have inhabited both sides of the border of southern Estonia and Russia. All three groups live on the borderline of the Eastern and Western Churches and cultural realms.Currently, the Ingrian and Votic languages are extremely endangered, while the Seto language has approximately 12,000 speakers. There is a high local interest in the maintenance and revitalisation of all three languages and cultural traditions.

    Description: The topic of the book is the incremental growth of linguistic knowledge from lexical to structural-cum-textual during the so-called later language development. Language mastery does not presuppose any acquaintance with prescriptive grammar but, instead, concerns the core of language which the so-called consensus principle applies to: the most frequent words and structures are mastered with certainty by everybody, but uncertainty increases as less frequent and more variable phenomena are taken into consideration. It is the goal of the study to make explicit the knowledge that is common to school children of different age groups, and to show how it develops both in its core and in its fringe areas. The mastery of less common aspects exhibits considerable statistical variation. The research embodies methodological pluralism insofar as it has been carried out by means both of the corpus method and the experimental method. Here experimental subsumes writing tasks, paper-and-pencil tests, and behavior under experimental conditions. The amount of participants native in Finnish varies from 300–2000. The book has a bipartite structure: mastery of meanings (Part I), and mastery of forms (Part II).

    Description: La universidad sufre hoy en día una gran presión burocráti­ca y tecnológica que la está convirtiendo en una institución cada vez más opresiva, rígida y reglamentada, tanto respecto a la creación y difusión del conocimiento como a la docencia y a la relación entre estudiantes y profesores. Afortunadamente todavía queda algo de la libertad que desde siempre ha caracterizado a la universidad. Y, aunque precaria, la libertad sigue siendo la condición de posibilidad de la conversación, que crea el contexto propicio para la aparición del conocimiento y resulta ser la mejor, si no la única, forma de aprender. ¿Qué otro modo hay, si no, de acercarse al misterio de la transmisión, a la incógnita de cómo convertir la experien­cia del profesor en experiencia del estudiante? Estas páginas son una invitación a profundizar en el senti­do y el significado de la enseñanza y el aprendizaje, a acercarse a la esencia misma del mundo universitario y su vivencia.     Description: Tradition and literature are not held back by borders. Transnationality is, for example, geographic, symbolic, or linguistic movement and action. Different kinds of cultural transitions and migrant traditions are connected with transnationality. Studying the multilingualism of literary texts or diverse cultural identities, transnationality is a prolific angle. In the 102nd Yearbook of the Kalevala Society Foundation, the topics cover for example migration and return migration, material things crossing borders, and places of music culture. At a more theoretical level we are asking how studying transnationality enriches the disciplines with roots in the national sciences.
