    Description: Social background determines educational success in Germany. The unequal distribution of educational opportunities is also evident in the area of support for the gifted: although giftedness and intelligence are normally distributed in society, students from less privileged backgrounds are underrepresented in scholarship programmes and support for the gifted. The reasons can be found among teachers who nominate students for support programmes. The study uses the RuhrTalente scholarship programme to analyse how teachers construct scholarship eligibility. From the results, measures can be derived that can contribute to a long-term reduction of educational injustice.
    Description: Soziale Herkunft entscheidet in Deutschland über den Bildungserfolg. Die ungleiche Verteilung von Bildungschancen zeigt sich auch im Bereich der Begabtenförderung: Obwohl Begabung und Intelligenz in der Gesellschaft normalverteilt sind, sind Schüler:innen aus weniger privilegierten Verhältnissen in Stipendienprogrammen und Begabtenförderungswerken unterrepräsentiert. Ursachen dafür lassen sich bei Lehrkräften ausfindig machen, die Schüler:innen für Förderprogramme nominieren. Die Studie analysiert anhand des Stipendienprogramms RuhrTalente, wie Lehrkräfte Stipendienwürdigkeit konstruieren. Aus den Ergebnissen lassen sich Maßnahmen ableiten, die zu einem langfristigen Abbau von Bildungsungerechtigkeit beitragen können.

It shows the relevance of processes of appropriation and resistance for the formation of self-conceptions in the face of natio-ethno-cultural (non-)belonging and closes with thoughts on marginalized agency.

    Description: What is the relationship between the teaching of a teacher and the acquisition of the students, i.e. their handling of the "learning offer"? This is reconstructed in the interest of arriving at an empirically founded, pedagogical theory of teaching. The results of the objective-hermeneutic reconstruction are presented in presented in the form of four case studies for four lessons.The exploration of the ways in which adolescents acquire knowledge can be seen as an original contribution to reconstructive teaching research, since the side of "learning" not only traditionally remained underexposed in the pedagogical-didactical consideration of teaching, but also still does no attempt was made to develop them reconstructively. According to the leading thesis of the work, lessons can only be understood when the insights into the different ways of acquisition of the students are included, as they represent an interlacing of lessons and acquisition. Their relationship is worked out: This can be shown to what extent lessons can be but to what extent also as non-mediation.
    Description: In welchem Verhältnis stehen das Unterrichten einer Lehrperson und das Aneignen der Schüler, also ihr Umgang mit dem „Lernangebot“? Dies wird im Interesse daran rekonstruiert, zu einer empirisch fundierten, pädagogischen Theorie des Unterrichts zu gelangen. Die Ergebnisse der objektivhermeneutischen Rekonstruktion werden in Form von vier Fallstudien zu vier Unterrichtsstunden vorgelegt. Besonders die Exploration der Aneignungsweisen der Heranwachsenden kann als originärer Beitrag zur rekonstruktiven Unterrichtsforschung erachtet werden, da die Seite des „Lernens“ nicht nur traditionell in der pädagogisch-didaktischen Betrachtung des Unterrichts unterbelichtet blieb, sondern auch noch nicht versucht wurde, sie rekonstruktiv zu erschließen. Erst die Einsichten in die unterschiedlichen Aneignungsweisen der Schüler einbeziehend, kann Unterricht verstanden werden, so die leitende These der Arbeit, stellt er doch eine Verschränkung von Unterrichten und Aneignen dar. Deren Verhältnis wird herausgearbeitet: Dadurch kann gezeigt werden, inwiefern sich Unterricht als Vermittlung, inwiefern aber auch als Nicht-Vermittlung vollzieht.

This explorative study deals with the development and evaluation of a university-based professionalization measure in the context of the internship semester. The aim is to qualify prospective teachers successively for the planning and implementation of inclusive teaching in the subject English against the background of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and a planning guide. Among other findings, a significant increase in students' self-efficacy expectations related to inclusive instructional design was observed. The study makes a first contribution to researching the potential of inclusion-oriented professionalization measures against the background of the UDL in the school subject English.

    Description: In diesem Buch untersucht die Autorin das Thema Schamdynamiken in der stationären Betreuung Jugendlicher, indem sie ethnographisch erhobene Interaktionsverläufe und qualitative Interviews interpretiert. Es werden verschiedene Fälle analysiert, in denen unter anderem das Spannungsfeld der emotionalen Belastung von Fachkräften und ihre pädagogischen Handlungsspielräume eine Rolle spielen. Außerdem gibt die Studie Aufschluss über den Umgang mit der Ausübung von Gewalt aus der Sicht Jugendlicher oder mit den Folgen suizidalen Verhaltens. Der Ausdruck von Scham durch die Jugendlichen, der Fachkräfte sowie auch das Schamempfinden der Forschenden sind hierbei Anhaltspunkte, von denen aus Kontraste und strukturelle Zusammenhänge in den Daten gefunden werden. Bei der Interpretation werden soziologische Affekttheorien einbezogen, die betonen, dass ein dichotomes Verständnis von Affekten als nur positiv oder negativ deren komplexer Funktion nicht gerecht wird. Damit leistet das Buch einen Beitrag zum Verstehen des sozialen Sinns von Affekten und macht die Affektforschung für die Sozialpädagogik fruchtbar.
    Description: In this book, the author examines the topic of shame dynamics in residential care for adolescents by interpreting ethnographically collected interaction processes. The expressions of shame by the adolescents, their caregivers, as well as the researchers’ perception of shame, are points of reference from which contrasts and structural connections in the data are identified. Modern theories of affect are included, which emphasise that a dichotomous understanding of affects as only positive or negative does not do justice to their complex function. In this way, the work contributes to understanding the social meaning of affects and makes affect research fruitful for social pedagogy.

Astrid Rank, Anja Wildemann, Sabina Pauen, Andreas Hartinger, Sabrina Tietze und Rahel Kästner untersuchten die Interaktionsqualität und mögliche sprachliche Bildungswirkungen im Kontext naturwissenschaftlicher Bildungsangebote bei Vorschulkindern. Die Studie legt nahe, dass naturwissenschaftliche Fortbildungen die naturwissenschaftlichen Kompetenzen wie auch den Spracherwerb der Kinder unterstützen und die Prozessqualität der Fachkräfte in naturwissenschaftsbezogenen Situationen bestimmen können. Das Schlusskapitel des Bandes beschreibt die Umsetzung der wissenschaftlichen Empfehlungen in den inhaltlichen Angeboten der Stiftung "Haus der kleinen Forscher" und ihrer fachlichen Weiterentwicklung.

In der vorliegenden Forschungsarbeit geht der Autor der Frage nach, welche Habitusformationen bei einem Übertritt von der Mittelschule in die gymnasiale Oberstufe rekonstruiert werden können und was die Ergebnisse für eine inklusive und ungleichheitsreflexive Schul- und Unterrichtsentwicklung leisten können. Hierfür führte der Autor eine qualitative Interviewstudie mit ehemaligen Mittelschüler*innen in Österreich, 12 Wochen nach ihrem Übertritt, durch.
    Description: School transitions have been the subject of research discourses in educational science for some time. Especially in Austria's multi-level school system, these transitions reveal a variety of exclusion mechanisms. In this research work the author explores the questions of which habitus formations can be reconstructed during a transition from secondary school to upper secondary school and what the results can contribute to an inclusive inequality-reflective school and teaching development. For this purpose, the author conducted a qualitative interview study with former secondary school students 12 weeks after their transfer.

Hier setzte das Forschungsprojekt AMIQUS an, dessen teils überraschende Ergebnisse in diesem Band versammelt sind. Untersucht wurden die Bedingungen und Ressourcen, vor allem aber die Barrieren für eine angemessene Lebensführung im Alter. Die Grundannahme war, dass nachbarschaftliche Unterstützungssysteme zu entwickeln und zu stärken und Prozesse der Selbstorganisation eigener Interessen im Wohnquartier zu unterstützen, ein wesentlicher Schlüssel gesellschaftlicher Teilhabe ist.

The study makes an innovative contribution to an area of educational science that has hardly been researched so far and thus provides new impulses for a queer professionalisation of (future) teachers.

Moreover, part-time work leads to significant career disadvantages for men independently from the occupational contexts.
    Description: In den jüngeren Generationen wünschen sich Männer zunehmend ein neues männliches Rollenmodell und mehr Zeit für nicht-erwerbsbezogenen Lebensbereiche. Auch wenn die Teilzeitarbeit von Männern im Laufe der letzten 30 Jahre angestiegen ist, so besteht nach wie vor eine erhebliche Lücke in der Nutzung von Teilzeitarbeit zwischen Männern und Frauen. Vor diesem Hintergrund beschäftigt sich dieses Buch gezielt mit der Frage, welche strukturellen Barrieren für die Teilzeitbeschäftigung von Männern auf der Ebene von Berufen bestehen. Ausgehend von der Lebensverlaufsperspektive werden die Übergänge von Vollzeit- in Teilzeitbeschäftigung, der Wechsel aus Teilzeit- in Vollzeittätigkeiten sowie die Nachteile durch Teilzeitarbeit beim Aufstieg in eine Leitungsposition untersucht. Als strukturelle Einflussfaktoren werden die berufliche Geschlechtersegregation und berufliche Arbeitszeitarrangements in den Blick genommen.

Als Ausdruck des „communicative turn“ in Stadtentwicklungspolitiken und Planungsprozessen sind Aushandlungsprozesse zwischen Akteuren und Interessen meist schon fest in der Konstruktion von Raumpolitiken und -programmen verankert. Unter dem Begriff „Governance“ wird dieser Modus des Aushandelns als Marke „guten Regierens“ gern verwendet. Die damit verbundenen Ansprüche an Partizipation – nicht nur der institutionalisierten, sondern auch der bisher kaum artikulierten Interessen sozialer Gruppierungen – bringen soziale Praktiken hervor, die die Entwicklung des Sozialraums oft stärker beeinflussen, als die öffentliche Steuerung.

There is a need for updating the knowledge about boys and education. Primarily, this knowledge captures the workings of ideas and norms of masculinity that are oriented toward dominance. This volume sheds light on the practical parallelism of different conceptions of masculinity in educational practice, thus contributing to a differentiation of theoretical perspectives. Based on empirical studies, the contributions address the topic in relation to early childhood and school pedagogy, vocational education, open youth work, and vocational training biographies.

    Description: Criticism of the implementation of school inclusion is growing and the question arises: where do we stand after 40 years of integration and inclusion experience? The vision of school inclusion is based on three pillars: the pillar of personal, structural and material framework conditions, the pillar of professionalism and the pillar of individual requirements as well as the tailor-made choice of school for the benefit of the child. The basis for the pillars is inclusion on a societal level. All three pillars currently have too many shortcomings to support the “inclusion” umbrella. Among other things, parents of children with disabilities who attended an integration class around 25 years ago were interviewed for the book. The school career of their children shows that integration into elementary school and comprehensive school is possible and successful if the necessary framework conditions are in place. However, interviews about the current experiences with school administrations, teachers and parents regarding inclusive schooling show how complex and contradictory inclusion is perceived by those affected and actors today and why inclusion is currently in danger of failing. Numerous practical examples of the implementation of inclusive didactics and inclusive structures in mainstream schools as well as the film accompanying the book about successful conditions for inclusive work in a primary school should encourage people to continue on the path to inclusion despite all the adversities.
    Description: Die Kritik an der Umsetzung schulischer Inklusion wächst und es stellt sich die Frage: Wo stehen wir nach 40 Jahren Integrations- bzw. Inklusionserfahrung? Die Vision schulischer Inklusion steht auf drei Säulen: der Säule der personellen, strukturellen und sächlichen Rahmenbedingungen, der Säule der Professionalität und der Säule der individuellen Voraussetzungen sowie der passgenauen Schulauswahl zum Wohle des Kindes. Die Basis für die Säulen bildet die Inklusion auf gesellschaftlicher Ebene. Alle drei Säulen weisen derzeit zu viele Mängel auf, als dass sie das Dach „Inklusion“ tragen könnten. Unter anderem wurden für das Buch Eltern von Kindern mit einer Behinderung interviewt, die vor rund 25 Jahren eine Integrationsklasse besucht haben. Die Schullaufbahn ihrer Kinder zeigt, dass Integration in die Grundschule und die Gesamtschule möglich und erfolgreich ist, wenn die erforderlichen Rahmenbedingungen gegeben sind. Interviews über die gegenwärtigen Erfahrungen mit Schulleitungen, Lehrenden und Eltern bezüglich inklusiver Beschulung zeigen jedoch, wie komplex und widersprüchlich Inklusion von Betroffenen und Akteuren heute wahrgenommen wird und woran Inklusion derzeit zu scheitern droht. Zahlreiche Praxisbeispiele zur Umsetzung einer inklusiven Didaktik und inklusiver Strukturen in Regelschulen sowie der zum Buch gehörende Film über Gelingensbedingungen inklusiven Arbeitens in einer Grundschule sollen Mut machen, den Weg zur Inklusion trotz aller Widrigkeiten weiterzugehen.

Im Mittelpunkt der Untersuchung stehen theoretisch wie quantitativ empirisch verschiedene Phasen der Aspirationsumsetzung – Intention, Bewerbung, Zulassung, Studienaufnahme – sowie die direkte und indirekte Rolle von Gatekeepingprozessen an deutschen Hochschulen.; The book examines individual and institutional barriers that high school graduates with college aspirations face and asks whether there are social background differences even within this highly selective group. It focuses theoretically as well as empirically on different phases – intentions, applications, admissions, enrolment – and allows a first glance on the direct and indirect influence of gatekeeping processes of German universities.
