    Gewalt und Dissoziation in der neueren deutsch- und russischsprachigen Lyrik (2024)

    Description: Die Arbeit widmet sich dem Zusammenhang zwischen den Phänomenen Gewalt und Dissoziation, der in der Lyrik nach 1989 vermehrt reflektiert wird. Den Gegenstand der Untersuchung bilden russisch- und deutschsprachige Gedichte, die in vier thematischen Konstellationen einander gegenübergestellt werden. Dabei zeigt sich, dass die Relation zwischen Gewalt und Dissoziation in Form von Wechselbeziehungen gestaltet wird, die ihrerseits die Etablierung verborgener Gewaltstrukturen ursächlich bedingen. Behandelt werden Texte der LyrikerInnen Sergej Stratanovskij, Ulrike Draesner, Slava Mogutin, Ann Cotten, Durs Grünbein, Elena Fanajlova, Friederike Mayröcker und Aleksandr Skidan.

    Description: Für gehörlose Lernende stellt das Schreiben eine doppelte Herausforderung dar: Gebärdensprachen verfügen über keine Gebrauchsschrift, weshalb gehörlose Schreiber/-innen die Schrift der umgebenden Lautsprache verwenden. Diese unterscheidet sich jedoch in struktureller Hinsicht grundlegend von der Gebärdensprache, was dazu führt, dass der Schriftspracherwerb in vielen Bereichen dem Erwerb einer Zweitsprache gleicht. Schriftliche Textproduktionen gehörloser Signer (=Gebärdenspachbenutzer/-innen) sind deshalb aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven von Bedeutung: Aus Sicht der Mehrsprachigkeitsforschung bieten sie einen Einblick in Prozesse des bimodal bilingualen Spracherwerbs, bei dem eine Laut- und eine Gebärdensprache involviert sind. Aus sprachdidaktischer Perspektive stellt sich in der Folge die Frage zur erfolgreichen Vermittlung schriftsprachlicher Kompetenzen für gehörlose Schüler/-innen. Zwar ist bekannt, dass medizinische und alltagsweltliche Konzepte von Normalität divergieren können – doch: Was bedeutet das für die Kommunikation in der medizinischen Praxis? Wie, in welchen Kontexten und zu welchen Zwecken greifen z.B. Ärzt:innen und Patient:innen auf interaktive ‚Praktiken des Normalisierens‘ zurück? Im Zuge der Auseinandersetzung mit der kommunikativen Konstruktion von Normalitäten auf der Grundlage empirischer Analysen authentischer Gespräche liefern die hier versammelten Beiträge interaktionslinguistische Erkenntnisse u.a. zur interaktiven Positionierung im Gespräch, zur Interaktionalen Semantik sowie zur interaktional ausgerichteten Konstruktionsgrammatik. Auch zeigen sie konzeptuelle und methodische Verknüpfungen zu Fragen der Medizin und der qualitativen Sozialforschung auf. Dieses soll durch die teils öffentliche Finanzierung voraussichtlich mit Steuermitteln aufgefangen werden. Es beginnt eine breite Debatte in der sich Personen aus Politik, Kulturbetrieb und Öffentlichkeit in Interviews, Petitionen oder Leserkommentaren beteiligen und in der es um den Einsatz von Steuern, die Verantwortung von Kulturinstitutionen und die künstlerische Freiheit geht. Die Untersuchung nimmt digitale multimodalen Texte, die darin verwendeten Metaphern, intertextuellen Geflechte und die beteiligten Akteure in den Blick und rekonstruiert nicht nur die Debatte der documenta 14, sondern widmet sich darüber hinaus dem strittigen Verhältnis von Kunst und Ökonomie und wie dieses unser aktuelles Kulturfördersystem beeinflusst.     Description: Wie konnten Abwesende politische Prozesse im Venedig der Renaissance beeinflussen? Wie wurden entsprechende Praktiken tradiert? Antworten auf diese Fragen gibt die Briefsammlung des Amtsträgers Ludovico Foscarini (1409–1480). Seine Briefe entstanden als Reaktion auf ein Dilemma: Nur als Statthalter und Gesandter konnte Foscarini in der Konkurrenz mit anderen venezianischen Adeligen bestehen. In der Peripherie war er aber von den Verteilungswettkämpfen abgeschnitten, die in der Zentrale in geheimen Abstimmungen abliefen. Kunstvolle Briefe an andere Politiker und politisch einflussreiche Intellektuelle sollten das Problem lösen. Diese Briefe nutzten humanistische, juristische und theologische Metaphern, um Themen anzusprechen, die außerhalb der offiziellen Gremien tabu waren. Foscarini legte eine didaktisch aufgebaute Briefsammlung mit den wirksamsten seiner Briefe an –　ein Erfahrungsschatz, den er seinen Söhnen für ihre politischen Laufbahnen hinterließ. Die Publikation kontextualisiert in einer interdisziplinär angelegten Analyse die Einzelbriefe anhand von gelehrten Textvorlagen und Wissensbeständen sowie Archivmaterial.     Description: Elocution and speech training are among the core areas of speech science in research, teaching and practice. The volume Voice – Speech – Theater. Sprechwissenschaft im Dialog offers an update on the current scientific and practical cooperation between university speech science and schools as well as colleges of drama and music. In the transdisciplinary exchange between research and practice, the focus is on the discussion of proven and new approaches to theory and methodology as well as on the current requirements of artistic practice. Specifically, the focus will be on special aspects of gestural communication and choral speaking, laughing and crying on stage, artificial voices and "theatricality" in the art of speaking. In addition, topics such as text learning and voice disorders, which are always present in the acting profession, are also discussed. An overview of relevant research work at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg rounds off the volume.

    Description: Sprachliche und kommunikative Kompetenz ist, wenn auch mit unterschiedlichen Schwerpunkten, eines von vielen Lernzielen für Lernende in allen Bildungseinrichtungen von der Kindertageseinrichtung bis zur Universität. Gefordert wird unter anderem die Produktion von komplexen Diskurseinheiten auf bildungssprachlichem Niveau. Bildungssprache soll in diesem Zusammenhang als ein detaillierter, kontextentbundener verständlicher sowie begrifflich präziser (Morek und Heller 2012, S. 68). Sprachgebrauch mit dem übergeordneten Merkmal der Explizitheit (Feilke 2012) verstanden werden. Das Sprechen kann dabei unter anderem als Werkzeug der Wissensvermittlung (kommunikativ) und des Denkens (epistemisch) fungieren (Morek und Heller 2012). Wie bildungssprachliche Fähigkeiten vermittelt werden können, ist allerdings noch nicht abschließend geklärt (Feilke 2012). Hinzu kommt, dass sich zumindest bezüglich des mündlichen Sprachgebrauchs in Lehr- und Lernkontexten häufig wenig Gelegenheit zum Einüben längerer Redebeiträge bietet. Die Kommunikation über Texte erscheint hierfür schon aufgrund der Annahme geeignet, dass Texte eigentlich erst während der Rezeption von den Rezipient*innen konstruiert werden. Wir gehen mit Hausendorf et al. 2017 davon aus, dass Texte Lesbarkeitshinweise bereitstellen, die von den Rezipient*innen zur Konstruktion ihrer eigenen mentalen Modelle genutzt werden. Diese können als Ausgangspunkt für Gespräche mit längeren Redebeiträgen (epistemische Funktion) verwendet werden, in denen Bedeutungen immer wieder ausgehandelt werden (kommunikative Funktion). Solche Aushandlungen sind zwangsläufig kontextentbunden und fordern auch einen gewissen Grad an sprachlicher Explizitheit. Eine Möglichkeit ist die Verwendung literarischer Texte als Gesprächsanlass. Im Sinne eines erweiterten Textbegriffs (vgl. Staiger 2007) sollen darunter Texte in allen Medien verstanden werden, wie z. B. Bilderbücher, Computerspiele, Comics, Gedichte oder Filme. Die Offenheit literarischer Texte ermöglicht es, dass sie auf stets variierende Art interpretiert und verstanden werden können (vgl. Charlton und Sutter 2007). Dies entlastet die Interaktant*innen davon, eine „richtige Antwort“ geben zu müssen. In Anschluss- oder Begleitkommunikationen wie z.B. in Vorlesegesprächen (vgl. u.a. Wieler 1997, Spinner 2004, Gressnich et al. 2015) sind unterschiedliche Sichtweisen auf die Texte sogar ein erwünschter Effekt, der es auch Rezipient*innen mit sehr unterschiedlichen Wissensständen ermöglicht, sich über die Texte auszutauschen. Außerdem können die am Gespräch Teilnehmenden insofern voneinander lernen, als dass sie die unterschiedlichen Sichtweisen auf den Text nachvollziehen. Auch von der eigenen Deutung abweichende Äußerungen bergen ein großes Potenzial, weil sie dazu veranlassen, die eigene Haltung zum Text zu reflektieren, sie argumentierend zu verteidigen oder zu modifizieren (vgl. u.a. Spinner 2010, Preußer 2017, Heizmann 2019). Im vorliegenden Sammelband werden in elf Beiträgen unterschiedliche Perspektiven und verschiedene Erhebungs- und Auswertungskontexte, unter denen Gespräche über literarische Texte aktuell betrachtet werden, vorgestellt.

Starting with Plato in the fourth century B.C., it is for a long time an unexcited reflection, until the perspective changes radically in the 19th century: the normality is suddenly gone, contact and mixture become first a research taboo and only a little later a serious research focus, from which a separate discipline, contact linguistics, emerges. This book tells for the first time the history of the study of language contact up to the threshold of the 20th century and shows how critical-historiographical studies can help to classify and advance current debates (e.g. in creole studies).

Apesar das diferenças, há entre esses pensadores um propósito comum: fundamentar o estudo psicológico daquelas funções sobre bases científicas e genéticas e superar as concepções idealistas e materialistas mecanicistas. Desse modo, Dongo-Montoya retoma o tema da origem do pensamento da linguagem, com o debate entre Vygotsky e Piaget, cujas ideias estiveram presentes nas discussões do século XX. Na sequência, confronta as posições de Wallon e Piaget e de Piaget e Chomsky.     Description: In den deutschen Landen wurde noch das ganze 18. Jahrhundert hindurch die Wirkungsmacht von Teufel und Dämonen heftig diskutiert. Gegner der Hexenverfolgungen und Kritiker einiger Aufsehen erregender Fälle von Exorzismus führten philosophische, namentlich cartesianische, und theologische Argumente ins Feld; bei der Exegese der einschlägigen Bibelstellen wandten sie das Akkomodationsprinzip und neue kritisch-filologische Methoden an. Sie beriefen sich fast allesamt auf den niederländischen Pastor Balthasar Bekker (1634–1698), der mit seiner Betoverde Weereld (1691–1693) dem Aberglauben ein Ende setzen und die Aufklärung im Protestantismus als eine „zweite Reformation“ vorantreiben wollte. Die zahlreichen deutschen Reaktionen auf Bekker in den Jahren zwischen der ersten (1693) und der zweiten (1781–82) Verdeutschung seiner Schrift werden in der vorliegenden Arbeit erstmals detailliert analysiert, um so seinen Einfluss auf das deutsche Geistesleben sowie seine gesellschaftliche Wirkung dort zu rekonstruieren. An Bekker lässt sich zudem aufzeigen, wie nachhaltig die Niederlande im Einzelnen auf die deutsche Aufklärung einwirkten.

Halt an einem Menschen gefunden, der ihn über sieben Jahre in allen innen- und außenpolitischen Fragen beriet und lenkte: Carl Wilhelm Saegert, Leiter der Taubstummenanstalt in Berlin und seit 1853 Inspektor des preußischen Taubstummenwesens. Als sich die Verhältnisse in Berlin nach der Revolution konsolidierten, war es für Saegert unmöglich, wegen seiner fehlenden Ausbildung und seiner bürgerlichen Herkunft in der Führungshierarchie anerkannt zu werden. Der König verließ sich aber weiterhin auf ihn nahezu blindlings, und Saegert mußte die undankbare Rolle des geheimen Beraters spielen, der nur durch die Bediententür Zugang zum König fand. – Die Edition bringt eine Auswahl der politisch relevanten Teile der Korrespondenz für die Jahre 1848–1856. Die Korrespondenz wird ergänzt durch das ungekürzte Tagebuch Saegerts für die Revolutionsmonate März bis November 1848.

    Description: Diese Arbeit widmet sich dem in den Niederlanden tätigen religiösen Nonkonformisten Friedrich Breckling (1629–1711). Breckling lehnte sich gegen festgefahrene gesellschaftliche Strukturen auf und wollte seine Ansichten über ein neues Menschen- und Weltbild nach Deutschland transferieren. Er wollte durch eine Reform des Menschen nicht weniger als ein ‚Paradies auf Erden‘ verbreiten. Es sollte seiner Meinung nach jedem möglich sein, seine Auffassungen auf einem offenen religiösen Marktplatz darzubieten. Dadurch half er den „Halleschen Pietismus“ mit vorzubereiten. Sein Leben und Wirken, seine Motivation und Ideen werden in einem niederländischen und einem deutschen Kontext eingeordnet. Außerdem werden die symbolischen „Netze der Bedeutung“, in denen er eingebunden war, einer näheren Untersuchung unterzogen. Die Arbeit versucht zu zeigen, dass es eine Verbindung zwischen Breckling und der niederländischen Frühaufklärung gegeben hat.

Die vorliegende Studie versucht erstmals, anhand des Nachlebens des enthaupteten Grafen Lamoraal von Egmont (1522–1568), der Frage nachzugehen, warum und wie eine historische Gestalt zu einer mythischen Figur avancieren konnte. Was machte ihn unsterblich? Wie und wieso erreichte der Name Egmont ein durch die Jahrhunderte hindurch vom Mittelmeerraum bis in die DDR nachhallendes Echo? In diesem Buch werden unter Einbeziehung mannigfaltiger historischer und literarischer Quellen die verschiedenen Stationen und Schattierungen des Egmont-Mythos vom Kopf an in ihrem jeweiligen Kontext beleuchtet. Auf diese Weise entwickelt der Autor ein Modell, das an ähnlich mythischen Figuren wie Masaniello, Wilhelm Tell und Jeanne d’Arc erprobt werden kann. Dieses Buch wurde 2012 im Rahmen des Programms Geisteswissenschaften International vom Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels ausgezeichnet.

    Description: In den letzten Jahren wird in Deutschland und in den Niederlanden über kaum ein anderes Thema derart intensiv und kontrovers diskutiert wie über die Integration von Zuwanderern. Die entsprechenden Auseinandersetzungen finden in beiden Ländern sowohl auf politischer wie auch auf wissenschaftlicher und gesellschaftlicher Ebene statt. Markus Wilp nimmt in seiner Untersuchung einen integrationspolitischen Vergleich zwischen den zwei Nachbarstaaten vor. Nach einem allgemeinen Teil, in dem zentrale Aspekte der deutschen und niederländischen Migrations- und Integrationsgeschichte erörtert werden, konzentriert er sich auf den für die Integration von Migranten äußerst bedeutsamen Bereich der Arbeitsmarktintegration. Er analysiert hierbei nicht nur wichtige Grundlagen des Untersuchungsthemas und aktuelle Entwicklungen in beiden Ländern, sondern er setzt sich mit ausgewählten politischen Programmen aus beiden Ländern auseinander. Neue Personennetzwerke und Handelswege setzten Wissenstransfers in Gang, wobei die Verbindung zu Frankreich eine herausragende Rolle einnahm. Diese Studie richtet daher den Blick auf die Vielzahl der Französinnen und Franzosen, die für kurze oder längere Zeit in die sächsische Hauptstadt kamen. Anhand von zahlreichen Quellen aus deutschen und französischen Archiven werden die in Frankreich liegenden Voraussetzungen dieser Reisen, die sozialen Modalitäten und schließlich das französische Wirken am Hof und in der Stadt betrachtet. Dadurch entsteht ein facettenreiches, akteurszentriertes Bild des französisch-sächsischen Kulturtransfers.
    Description: À l’époque augustéenne (1694–1763), la ville de Dresde, résidence saxonne, devient un centre culturel du Saint-Empire. De nouveaux réseaux de personnes et de nouvelles voies commerciales mettent en place des transferts de connaissances, parmi lesquels les liens avec la France jouent un rôle prépondérant. Cette étude se penche donc sur le grand nombre de Françaises et de Français qui, à cette époque, séjournent dans la capitale saxonne pour des périodes plus ou moins longues. Les conditions préalables en France, les modalités sociales et enfin l’action française à la cour et dans la ville sont examinées à l’aide de nombreuses sources issues d’archives françaises et allemandes. Il en résulte un portrait centré sur les acteurs et à multiples facettes du transfert culturel franco-saxon.
    Description: In the Augustan era (1694–1763), the Saxon residence city of Dresden developed into a cultural centre of the Holy Roman Empire. New networks and trade routes set knowledge transfers in motion, with connections to France taking on a prominent role. This study therefore focuses on the large number of French people who came to the Saxon capital for short or long periods of time. The study includes an examination of the French prerequisites of these journeys, the social modalities and finally the French activities at court and in the city based on numerous sources from German and French archives. In this way, Christian Gründig draws a multifaceted, actor-centred picture of Franco-Saxon cultural transfer.

Jahrhunderts eine Schlüsselstellung im europäischen Gesandtschaftswesen zu. In den Kriegen, die auf die Epochenwende 1648 und 1659/60 folgten, wurde nicht mehr wie in den vorhergehenden Religionskriegen um die Existenz gerungen, sondern um die Aufrechterhaltung oder Wiederherstellung einer gedachten Machtbalance. Daraus erwuchs den Gesandten eine neue Aufgabenfülle und politische Rolle. Das blieb nicht ohne Wirkung auf die Gesandten, die Veränderungen nicht nur ertrugen, sondern zunehmend selbst gestaltend eingriffen. Diese dynamischen Prozesse in der Arbeitsweise von Gesandten dreier Höfe am niederländischen Regierungssitz Den Haag stehen im Mittelpunkt der vorliegenden Arbeit. Indem aufgearbeitet wird, wie Den Haag von einem Treffpunkt von Gesandten zum Brennpunkt europäischer Diplomatie wurde, möchte die vorliegende Studie einen Beitrag zur Geschichte des Gesandtschaftswesens im frühneuzeitlichen Europa leisten.

    Description: »The Higher Education System of the City of Königsberg in Prussia 1800 to 1915«: The study is the first to present the secondary school system of the capital and royal seat Königsberg in Prussia in the period from 1800 to 1915 – against the background of striking supraregional events affecting the entire state of Prussia. The author explores the regional characteristics of the ›Gymnasien‹ as well as the development of the ›Realanstalten‹ and the higher education of girls. Among the eight schools included, the ›Königliches Friedrichs-Kollegium‹ occupies a prominent position because of its model character for all of Prussia. Wilhelm von Humboldt‘s activities in Königsberg, which were fundamental for the school reform from 1809 onwards, and the Königsberg school plan he developed there are dealt with in detail by the author. In accordance with Humboldt‘s goal of equal status for the subjects Latin and Greek, mathematics and history, these and the corresponding teaching subjects as well as research at Königsberg University are considered in detail. A separate chapter is devoted to the reception of Humboldt‘s school concept in the Baltic provinces.

Die Autorin erforscht die regionalen Besonderheiten der Gymnasien sowie die Entwicklung der Realanstalten und der höheren Mädchenbildung. Unter den acht einbezogenen Schulen nimmt das Königliche Friedrichs-Kollegium wegen seines Modellcharakters für ganz Preußen eine hervorgehobene Stellung ein. Auf die für die Schulreform ab 1809 grundlegende Tätigkeit Wilhelm von Humboldts in Königsberg und seinen dort entwickelten Königsberger Schulplan geht die Autorin umfassend ein. Gemäß der von Humboldt angestrebten Gleichrangigkeit der Fächer Latein und Griechisch, Mathematik und Geschichte werden diese und die entsprechenden Lehrfächer sowie die Forschung an der Königsberger Universität detailliert betrachtet. Der Rezeption von Humboldts Schulkonzept in den baltischen Ostseeprovinzen ist ein eigenes Kapitel gewidmet. Die Arbeit wurde ausgezeichnet mit dem Gierschke-Dornburg-Preis 2021.

    Description: De geschiedenis van het beleg en ontzet van Groningen in 1672 spreekt nog altijd tot de verbeelding. Er was sprake van spanning, tragiek, sensatie en blijdschap. Er waren helden, verliezers en vooral veel onnodige slachtoffers. Nadat vijandelijke troepen grote delen van Nederland hadden overmeesterd, rukten Keuls-Munsterse soldaten op naar Groningen. Onder leiding van hun bisschoppen vuurden zij wekenlang bommen en granaten op de stad af. Dat was tevergeefs, want Groningen hield stand. Zo werd het verzet in het noorden van het land een keerpunt tijdens het zogeheten Ramp- of Bisschopsjaar. De herdenking van 350 jaar ontzet van Groningen was in 2022 aanleiding om nieuwe invalshoeken te verkennen. Dit boek bevat vier bijdragen waarin zowel de geopolitieke en militaire context als de beleving van de belegering en het ontzet aan bod komen. Veel aandacht is er voor de eigentijdse bronnen: wat vertellen ons kranten, brieven, prenten en pamfletten uit 1672 over wat zich in dit jaar in Groningen afspeelde? Speciale belangstelling is er voor de rol van de universiteit tijdens het militaire conflict. Haar studenten droegen bij aan het verzet dat resulteerde in de vrijheid die na afloop gevierd kon worden.

Zum Preisträger: Sir Ian Kershaw wurde 1943 in Oldham, Lancashire, geboren. Er studierte in Liverpool und Oxford. Nach Tätigkeiten an den Universitäten Manchester, Bochum und Nottingham lehrte er bis zu seiner Emeritierung 2008 als Professor für moderne Geschichte an der Universität Sheffield. Sir Ian Kershaw ist Träger des Bundesverdienstkreuzes.

In this volume, the dialectical concepts of center and periphery are examined from the perspectives of literary, linguistic, and cultural studies. Their relevance in Romania is examined in the individual contributions on the basis of geographical, spatial, historical, social, and linguistic aspects, in order to include different approaches and methods of analysis. In addition to a heterogeneous approach to the dimensions of the conceptual pair, the volume offers a structured presentation of the individual phenomena studied. The two thematic blocks focus, on the one hand, on diverse literary studies considerations of the dichotomy of the conceptual pair, and, on the other hand, on linguistic conceptions of center and periphery. Thus, new perspectives on both central and peripheral phenomena in Romance studies are opened up, on the one hand by presenting the range of (traditional) centers and peripheries, and on the other hand by referring to current discussions in the context of the two concepts.

V njej so predstavljeni manj znani pojavi in vidiki 18. stoletja na Slovenskem. Pri nastanku monografije je sodelovalo 23 slovenskih in tujih avtorjev, ki so s prispevki posegli na številna področja, od obče in kulturne do glasbene, umetnostne in literarne zgodovine. Monografija je razdeljena na več poglavij. Gerade wegen der vermeintlichen Ähnlichkeit zum Deutschen hält die niederländische Sprache für Übersetzer zahlreiche Stolpersteine und Fallen bereit. Wege nach Translantis soll dabei helfen, diese Fallstricke schnell erkennen und umgehen zu können. Die Bewusstmachung von Übersetzungsproblemen und ihre jeweiligen Auswirkungen auf das Übersetzen erkennen und benennen zu können, kann dabei helfen, das Bewusstsein sowohl für die Ausgangs- als auch für die Zielsprache und vor allem für das Fach des Übersetzens zu schärfen. Dieser Leitfaden soll deshalb einen Beitrag zur Verbesserung der Transferkompetenzen leisten. Anhand von zahlreichen Beispielen werden sprachenpaarspezifische Übersetzungsprobleme und Lösungsansätze präsentiert und durch sprachwissenschaftliches Hintergrundwissen und praktische Tipps ergänzt.

    Description: Die vorliegende Arbeit widmet sich der Informationsintegration in maschinell übersetzten, mehrsprachigen Textchats am Beispiel des Skype Translators im Sprachenpaar Katalanisch-Deutsch. Der Untersuchung von Textchats dieser Konfiguration wurde sich bislang nur wenig zugewendet. Deshalb wird der zunächst grundlegend explorativ ausgerichteten Forschungsfrage nachgegangen, wie Personen eine maschinell übersetzte Textchat-Kommunikation wahrnehmen, wenn sie nicht der Sprache des Gegenübers mächtig sind. Damit einher geht auch die Untersuchung der Informationsextraktion und -verarbeitung zwischen Nachrichten, die in der eigenen Sprache verfasst wurden, und der Ausgabe der Maschinellen Übersetzung.

    Description: This volume contains selected papers of the 2008 annual conference of the German Association for Social Science Research on Japan (Vereinigung für sozialwissenschaftliche Japanforschung e.V. – VSJF). The academic meeting has addressed the issue of demographic change in Japan in comparison to the social developments of ageing in Germany and other member states of the European Union. The conference was organized by the Institute for Modern Japanese Studies at Heinrich-Heine-University of Duesseldorf and took place at the Mutter Haus in Kaiserswerth (an ancient part of Duesseldorf). Speakers from Germany, England, Japan and the Netherlands presented their papers in four sessions on the topics “Demographic Trends and Social Analysis”, “Family and Welfare Policies”, “Ageing Society and the Organization of Households” and “Demographic Change and the Economy”. Central to all transnational and national studies on demographic change is the question of how societies can be reconstructed and be made adaptive to these changes in order to survive as solidarity communities. The authors of this volume attend to this question by discussing on recent trends of social and economic restructuring and giving insight into new research developments such as in the area of households and housing, family care work, medical insurance, robot technology or the employment sector.

    Description: Das zweibändige Werk gibt erstmals einen umfassenden Überblick über den Satzbau der schweizerdeutschen Dialekte und ergänzt das Standardwerk ""Sprachatlas der deutschen Schweiz"", in dem syntaktische Fragen weitgehend ausgespart blieben. Die vorgestellten Ergebnisse basieren auf einer vom Schweizerischen Nationalfonds geförderten Erhebung mit Fragebögen an 383 Ortspunkten bei durchschnittlich sieben Gewährspersonen in den Jahren 2000-2002. Der Atlas stellt zahlreiche bisher nicht oder kaum beachtete Phänomene in der Syntax der Nominal- und Verbalphrase sowie Satzverbindung detailliert vor und belegt die lange bestrittene Raumgliederung im Bereich der Morphosyntax. Die Ergebnisse werden unter Berücksichtigung der Variation am Ort in 78 thematischen Kommentaren besprochen (Bd. 1) und auf 216 - je nach Kartentyp auch farbigen - Dialektkarten (Bd. 2) präsentiert.
