    Description: Die Validität bei der Bewertung sprachlicher Kompetenzen im Fach Deutsch als Fremdsprache steht in der vorliegenden Studie im Mittelunkt. Untersucht wird auf welche sprachlichen, textuellen und aufgabenbezogenen Aspekte die Bewertenden Wert legen, die Bewerterübereinstimmung schwedischer Bewertenden sowie wie sich schwedische Bewertungen schriftlicher Kompetenz zu den Niveaus des GER verhalten. Neben einer qualitativen thematischen Inhaltsanalyse bietet die Arbeit auch quantitativ angelegte statistische Berechnungen. Basierend auf den Ergebnissen werden didaktische Empfehlungen für den schulischen Fremdsprachenunterricht in Schweden gegeben. Dieses Buch wendet sich an Forschende und Praktiker im fremdsprachlichen Bereich, an Lernende, Lehrkräfte, Lehrwerksautoren und -autorinnen, Lehramtstudierende sowie weitere Akteure schulischer Bildung.

    Description: Der vorliegende Band thematisiert Rolle und Selbstwahrnehmung der Archivare zwischen dem späten Kaiserreich und dem Ende der Weimarer Republik, einer Zeit rasanter Veränderungen in politischer, historiografischer und wissensgeschichtlicher Hinsicht. Mit dieser chronologischen Perspektivierung trägt der Band einerseits der politischen und institutionellen Tatsache Rechnung, dass der politische und staatsrecht-liche Umbruch am Ende des Ersten Weltkrieges die organisatorischen und institutionel-len Grundlagen des Archivwesens massiv beeinflusste. Andererseits möchte der Band dezidiert eine Verengung allein auf den politisch-staatlichen Systemwechsel vermeiden, denn keineswegs alle prägenden Entwicklungen des deutschen Archivwesens dieser Zeit lassen sich auf diese Ebene zurückführen.

    Description: Die Teilung Schleswigs nach Volksabstimmungen im Jahre 1920 hatte langfristige Folgen nördlich und südlich der neuen Grenze. Viele wurden durch Agitation und Abstimmung tief beeindruckt, sogar die Archive des Gebiets mussten geteilt werden. Nordschleswig wurde als ein Teil des Königreichs Dänemarks einverleibt. Diese wurde von einem nordschleswigschen Ministerium vorbereitet und kam bei der Konstruktion der Grenze sowie in Schule und Kirche zum Ausdruck. Die deutsche Minderheit widersetzte sich der Integration und während der Krisenjahre entstanden extreme politische Bewegungen. Diese Folgen werden in diesem Buch thematisiert, das ein Ergebnis einer deutsch-dänischen Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Landesarchiv Schleswig-Holstein und dem Rigsarkivet Aabenraa mit dem Studienzentrum für die Geschichte Schleswigs ist.

    Arnold Schoenberg und Roberto Gerhard: Briefwechsel (2023)

    Description: Arnold Schönberg und Roberto Gerhard begannen 1923 eine Meister-Schüler-Beziehung, die sich im Laufe der Zeit in eine enge Freundschaft verwandelte. Trotz der geographischen Distanz, die beide Komponisten trennte –Schönberg floh 1933 in die USA und Gerhard ging 1939 ins Exil–, unterhielten sie bis zu ihrem Tode eine intensive Korrespondenz, die dank der Freundschaft ihrer Wiener Ehefrauen gefestigt wurde. Der vorliegende Band enthält den bisher noch nicht veröffentlichten, aus 82 Einzel­dokumenten bestehenden vollständigen Briefwechsel zwischen Arnold Schönberg und seinem spanischen Schüler Roberto Gerhard, der nach einer langwierigen Suche und minuziöser Arbeit in verschiedenen internationalen Archiven von Prof. Dr. Ortiz-de-Urbina zusammengetragen werden konnte. Eine erste Analyse der Briefe zwischen Arnold Schönberg und seinem Schüler Roberto Gerhard liefert interessante Ergebnisse bezüglich des Lebens, des Werkes und der Persönlich­keit beider Komponisten und beleuchtet relevante biografische Aspekte, wie das enge familiäre Verhältnis zwischen beiden dank der aktiven Vermittlerrolle beider Ehefrauen, die Relevanz des Aufenthalts der Schönbergs in Barcelona von Oktober 1931 bis Juni 1932 oder den verzweifelten Versuch Gerhards, mit Hilfe Pau Casals und anderer spanischer Musiker für Schönberg verbindliche Verträge in Spanien zu schließen, damit der Wiener Meister, bedrängt vom zunehmenden Antisemitismus in Deutschland ab 1932, definitiv nach Barcelona mit Frau und Kind übersiedeln könnte. Die gesammelten Dokumente beleuchten auch den Prozess der Gestaltung mancher Werke beider Komponisten. Wenn auch Leben und Werk Arnold Schönbergs umfassend erforscht und dokumentiert wurden und immer noch Schwerpunkt der internationalen musikwissenschaftlichen Forschung sind, bleibt Roberto Gerhard trotz seiner Relevanz als Komponist und Denker innerhalb der europäischen posttonalen Musik des 20. Jahrhunderts ein unzureichend erforschter Komponist. Als Republikaner fand er während der Franco-Diktatur offiziell keine Beachtung und erst nach seinem Tode 1970, zwei Jahre nach Erhalt der Ehrendoktorwürde der Cambridge University, wurden sowohl sein Leben und Werk als auch seine Rezeption Thema der musikwissenschaftlichen Forschungsgemeinschaft. Aus diesem Grunde soll das vorliegende Buch nicht nur als Dokumentensammlung der Schönberg- und Gerhardforschung dienen, sondern auch als Beitrag zu einer Gerhard-Renaissance verstanden werden.

    Description: Hydrodynamics was long considered a subject for mathematicians and theoretical physicists. Although the engineering subject of hydraulics offers useful formulae for many practical problems, these could only be justified empirically. In the winter semester of 1907/08, the mathematician Felix Klein organised a seminar at Göttingen University with the declared aim of bridging this gap. The participants' contributions show how the gap between theoretical hydrodynamics and practical hydraulics was bridged with modern fluid mechanics.

    Description: Rarely is the collecting of prints in libraries looked at more closely, although this was still intensively cultivated in the 19th century, especially in Hamburg's active bourgeois culture. Once again, it becomes apparent that trade and artistic sensibility certainly went hand in hand in the Hanseatic city. Studying the copperplate engravings in the Hamburg State and University Library has brought to light a variety of traces that point to the provenances of the original owners and to the way the library dealt with them. They have been examined in detail and with dedicated research work by a group of art history students and presented in this book in a scientifically sound manner with new perspectives. In addition to the ramified history of the collection, the book also aims to draw attention to the works themselves, which are now digitally recorded and thus accessible. The publication combines both historical-critical library and collection history as well as an examination of modern instruments for making them available.

    Description: The present study deals with the foreign policy of the Western Roman Empire towards those Germanic tribes that were able to form sovereign states on Roman soil in connection with the fall of Western Rome: the Burgundians, the Vandals, the Suebi and the Visigoths. The central object of investigation is the international legal relations between the Empire and the various gentes in the 5th century. A collection of the West Roman-Germanic treaties - together with a presentation of their historical background - provides a sufficient overview of the political attitude of the Western Empire towards the Germanic peoples in the final phase of its disintegration process. Is there a certain "red thread" in West Rome's foreign policy?

    Description: The German Chancery - since 1806 the Schleswig-Holstein Chancery, from 1816 on the Schleswig-Holstein-Lauenburg Chancery - developed from the early 16th century, and acquired fixed institutional forms in the 17th century. Its territorial jurisdiction initially extended to the royal portions, from 1773 to the entire Duchies of Schleswig and Holstein, and from 1816 additionally to the Duchy of Lauenburg. From 1667 to 1773, the counties of Oldenburg and Delmenhorst were also part of the Chancellery's portfolio. As the highest and most important royal authority for the duchies with its seat in Copenhagen, the Chancellery had a comprehensive area of competence. It was responsible for the entire internal administration of the country, unless individual tasks were assigned to special administrative authorities, such as the Chamber of Pensions. In addition, the Chancellery was also responsible for the foreign affairs of the Danish kingdom until the Department of Foreign Affairs was established for this purpose in 1770. The records of the German Chancellery are of outstanding importance for research on both Schleswig-Holstein and Danish history. This special value of the Chancery Archives is the reason why they are divided between the Reich Archives in Copenhagen and the Schleswig-Holstein State Archives: Copenhagen holds the bulk of the older records before 1730, while the Landesarchiv holds the bulk of the records from 1730 onwards.The written records of the German Chancellery in the Landesarchiv presented in this finding aid are among the most important holdings from the period from the 16th to the mid-19th century that the Landesarchiv has available for research.

    Description: The story of how Max Warburg became head of the family-owned bankhouse, although his brother was supposed to take over the business, was often told: When he was 12 years old, the one year older Aby offered Max his birthright for the promise to buy all the books Aby would ever need. Max accepted,and - as he later said - issued "the biggest blank cheque in my life". The paths of life of the two brothers spilt into different directions. Aby built his library into a research institute. Max developed M. M. Warburg & Co., thus the bankhouse becoming one of the most important private banks in Germany. At Simultaneously, they both pursued another goal: the foundation of the university. The brothers were among the early donors of the Hamburg Scientific Foundation (Hamburgische Wissenschaftliche Stiftung). It was all about "Hamburg's mental capacity" ("Hamburgs geistige Zahlungsfähigkeit").

    Description: As in all medieval cities, writing became increasingly important in Hamburg in the course of the later Middle Ages. In addition to the creation of various city books, there was a growing need to safely store the originals of important documents. These were collected in the so-called Threse, which soon formed a separate section of the emerging municipal archive. Although the holdings in the Hamburg State Archives are largely complete (with the exception of some losses due to the Second World War, among other things), the indexing by Johann Martin Lappenberg, which took place after the fire in Hamburg City Hall in 1842, still forms the basis for working with the material today. A comprehensive scholarly reappraisal remained a desideratum for a long time.

    Description: This study deals with representations of wreathed figures on Attic pottery which can be assigned to the ritual contexts of the festivities in honour of deities in archaic-classical times by means of proven pictorial elements. The aim of the work is to show the significance of the wreath in the sphere of action of the festivals of the gods. One of the priorities is the botanical determination of the different types of leaves because the different wreath representations can be used to determine fixed contexts. Furthermore, the symbolic meaning of the wreath as well as the perception processes of observers of ritualised actions are worked out. The investigation opens up new perspectives by combining different methodological approaches and interdisciplinary contents: it also encourages further research possibilities.

    Description: The administration of customs and commercial affairs in Denmark and the Duchies of Schleswig, Holstein and (since 1816) Lauenburg has been the responsibility of a number of authorities at the central administrative level: Chamber of Rents in Copenhagen (1660 to 1848), General Country Economics and Commerce College ("General-Landes-Ökonomie- und Kommerzkollegium") (from 1735), West Indo-Guinean Chamber of Rents and General Customs (from 1760), Directorate of Upper Tax in Copenhagen in 1762 (from 1778 Directorate of State Balance and Upper Tax), 1782), unification of the General Country Economics and Commerce College and the West Indo-Guinean Retirement and General Customs Chamber ("Rente- und Generalzollkammer") to the Generalzollkammer- und Kommerzkollegium (1816). With the introduction of the Ministerial Constitution in Denmark in 1848, the activities of the General Chamber of Customs and Commerce ceased. Its responsibility for customs was transferred to the newly established Ministry of Finance. Initially, however, this administrative restructuring only affected the Kingdom of Denmark. With the outbreak of the survey in March 1848, the duchies had their own customs offices under the respective survey authorities. After the end of the survey in 1851, the duchies in Denmark were also given their own ministries in accordance with the reform. However, their powers in customs were transferred to the Ministry of Finance as early as 1852 and finally changed to the newly established Ministry for the Common Internal Affairs of the Monarchy in 1856, only to be transferred back to the Ministry of Finance after its abolition in 1858. The latter, in turn, had the customs system administered by the Directorate General of Customs, set up in 1855 and subordinate to the Ministry. The present register of findings lists only a very small part of the tradition of the supreme customs and commercial authorities responsible for the Kingdom of Denmark and the duchies. The main body of the records of the authorities listed in the finding bookcan be found in the Danish Imperial Archives in Copenhagen

    Description: Both Narratology and Digital Humanities look back on a remarkable history of research and progress. One after the other, the narratological and the digital research communities evolved into large international and interdisciplinary networks. While cooperation between the two disciplines would be possible and beneficial in many areas, they often still work in parallel rather than together. A workshop at Hamburg University brought together Literary Studies researchers from Narratology and from Digital Humanities to (a) discuss requirements for and possibilities of a digital operationalisation of analytical categories from Narratology and Literary Studies and (b) theoretically reflect upon possible connections between more traditional and digital approaches. The present volume combines the workshop contributions from both disciplines and thus attempts to further the bridge-building and dialogue.

    Description: This book investigates the narrative properties of the 19th-century verse novel. The genre grew out of Lord Byron’s Don Juan and established itself in various European literatures, with famous examples such as Pushkin’s Eugene Onegin. The proposed analysis is unique in the existing literature in defining the genre based on formal properties and in examining its exceptional, reflexive structure in detail. Apart from 19th-century texts, verse novels from contemporary literature are also includ-ed, and thus the connection between these two contexts is discussed for the first time extensively.

Die Kernursache dieses Konflikts war die Intensivierung der Königsherrschaft in der Zeit Heinrichs II. und seiner Söhne Richard I. Löwenherz und Johann Ohneland. Der Adel kritisierte den König insbesondere wegen seiner Nutzung von Lehensverhältnissen als fiskalische Quelle. Diese Studie leuchtet die Vorgeschichte der Magna Carta durch eine systematische Untersuchung eines der bemerkenswertesten Quellenbestände des 12. Jahrhunderts aus, der Pipe Rolls des englischen Rechnungshofes (Exchequer).

    Description: The chancellery was established as the supreme judicial and administrative authority for the royal portion of Schleswig and Holstein in Flensburg in 1648 and moved to Glückstadt in 1649. Its jurisdiction had been limited to Holstein since 1713 and was extended to the county of Rantzau in 1734, to the Plönian lands in 1762 and to the Gottorfian lands in 1774. At the same time, the name "Glückstädtische Regierung" was replaced by "Holsteinische Landesregierung zu Glückstadt und Holsteinisches Oberkonsistorium". The previously formally different special courts - judicial chancellery, Oberamtsgericht, Pinnebergisches-, Altonaisches-, Rantzauisches Oberappellationsgericht - were combined in 1806 as "Holsteinisches Obergericht". Since 1816 it was called "Holstein-Lauenburgisches Obergericht". When justice and administration were separated in the middle instance in 1834, the administration was transferred to the Schleswig-Holstein government at Gottorf; the higher court continued to exist as a purely judicial authority. When the judiciary and administration were separated in 1834, the records were divided. Most of the judicial files remaining in Glückstadt were later destroyed; the administrative files were preserved and form the core of the holdings kept in the Schleswig-Holstein State Archives.

    Description: The Minoan palaces and villas often give the impression of a late bronze age culture which was characterized by elitist societies and mysterious cults. The numerous known Bronze Age settlement sites and their rich finds in different regions of Crete illustrate varying settlement developments. This study presents a comprehensive overview of found materials, building features and site conditions of 23 Minoan villas in Crete. The analysis is decisively extended by including the geographical conditions of the surroundings and by comparing the Minoan villas with other late bronze age find and settlement sites in Crete. The investigation offers perspectives to review established interpretations of late bronze age settlement conditions of Minoan Crete.

    Description: This overview of holdings is an inventory to mark the 150th anniversary of the Landesarchiv Schleswig-Holstein, which was founded in 1870 as the Prussian Staatsarchiv Schleswig. This overview is the first printed overview that contains explanations of all individual holdings and thus facilitates orientation for the users of the Landesarchiv. Reading and leafing through the book, one can get an impression of the local records on regional history and discover many things that have not yet been researched. The book guides the reader through the extensive holdings in a compact and clear manner - if one were to put all the documents in one row, it would result in a distance of about fifty thousand linear metres.

    Description: Georg Hermann Stoltz was distinguished by his vision for economic development and his determined pursuit of a wide range of activities, as well as by his good knowledge of human nature, leadership, sales talent, and reliability. With this volume, the first biography of Georg Hermann Stoltz (1845-1939) is available. It provides valuable insights into the life of a man who, as a successful merchant and company founder in Brazil and Hamburg, has rendered outstanding services to relations between South America and Europe. The biography was written by Hans Joachim Schröder; it is the 21st volume in the series "Mäzene für Wissenschaft" published by the Hamburg Scientific Foundation. in many respects, Georg Hermann Stoltz is a typical representative of the group of Hamburg patrons who established the Hamburgische Wissenschaftliche Stiftung with their donations in 1907, thus enabling the foundation of the Hamburg University twelve years later: Like most others, he worked as an overseas merchant. Like some of the other members of the group, he built up extensive trade between South America, especially between Brazil and Hamburg. In the course of his long life he thus became a pioneer of German-Brazilian relations. His wealth allowed him to establish a generous residence in Wentorf near Hamburg and a foundation in Lüneburg, where he attended school at the Johanneum. In all this he became the ancestor of a large family that is still alive today.

    Description: La position particulière de l’art vidéo – inscrit dans l’art, partageant une même technique avec d’autres domaines, tout en reposant sur des spécificités fortes, contemporain mais déjà dépassé – en fait un terrain idéal pour ausculter la narration de l’art, et plus largement sa construction sociale. Ce livre propose de considérer les catalogues et les affiches d’exposition, les articles, les dépliants, les documents de travail ou encore la correspondance comme moteurs de la formation d’un art. Usant d’un appareil conceptuel alliant sociologie de la connaissance, sociologie de l’art et histoire de l’art, il s’arrête sur les deux premières expositions muséales d’art vidéo en France et en Suisse afin d’en fournir la première étude approfondie. Les discours que ces manifestations ont produits font l’objet d’une lecture rapprochée afin de faire ressortir les termes employés, les champs lexicaux formés, les stratégies discursives élaborées pour expliquer et justifier la tenue d’une exposition de vidéos dans un musée municipal. Dans un second temps, le propos aborde les contextes de production de ces discours et le rôle joué par les institutions et les auteur-e-s impliqué-e-s dans chaque exposition. La mise en commun d’une analyse de texte et d’une étude de contexte permet de dégager les modalités de construction discursive de l’art vidéo en tant que catégorie de l’art contemporain. La (re)découverte de textes sources des années 1970 permet en outre de préciser et compléter l’histoire de l’art contemporain.

    Description: Die Vorstellung von einer Wissenspräsupposition literarischen Verstehens, also die Annahme, dass ein textseitig begründbares Verständnis immer auch textspezifische Wissensbestände erfordert, gehört zur Alltagserfahrung bei der Vermittlung von Literatur. Literarisches Verstehen gelingt dann am besten, wenn Lernende über bestimmte Wissensbestände verfügen und dieses Wissen auf eine bestimmte Weise einsetzen können; bemerkenswert ist daher, dass die prominenten literaturdidaktischen Konzepte der letzten beiden Dekaden die Verbindung von Wissen und literarischem Lernen vielfach ausgeblendet haben. Die Beiträge des vorliegenden Bandes wollen neue Wege in der Diskussion um das Verhältnis von Wissen und literarischem Verstehen aufzeigen, Vermittlungswege wissensbasierten Verstehens skizzieren und einen Beitrag zu einer dringend notwendigen Diskussion um entsprechende Normen des Literaturunterrichts leisten.

    Description: Der Traum als Medium transzendenter Erfahrungen ist ein bevorzugtes literarisches Motiv von der Antike bis zur Gegenwart. Auch in der russischen inoffiziellen Lyrik der Sowjetzeit entwickelt der Traum metaphysische Dimensionen, die auf individuelle Weise gestaltet werden. Anhand der Analyse exemplarischer Gedichte wird die Traumpoetik von Elena Švarc, Ol’ga Sedakova und Gennadij Ajgi erschlossen und im Hinblick auf ihre Spezifik vergleichend ausgewertet. Die dichterisch geformten Träume erweisen sich als Wege zur Gottesbegegnung (Sedakova), zu spiritueller Selbsterkenntnis (Švarc) oder auch zu mystischer Naturerfahrung (Ajgi). Die drei AutorInnen verorten sich dadurch im literaturhistorischen Kontext der metaphysischen Lyrik, deren Tradition sie durch das Traummotiv fortsetzen.

    Helene Schjerfbecks Selbstbildnisse – an den Grenzen des Ich (2022)

    Description: The Finnish painter Helene Schjerfbeck (1862–1946) is one of the most famous art-ists in Finland, whereas outside the Nordic countries her works are still presented as a discovery. This thesis focuses on her self-portraits that create a core element of her oeuvre. A close reading of the self-portraits gives insight into the wide range of topics, that are inherent in the paintings and drawings. A characteristic of Schjerfbeck’s imagery is a non finito aesthetic, which is more than just a matter of style. Rather, this specific aesthetic contributes to a multi-layered depiction of the self. A closer look at the historical context shows how some of her commissioned self-portraits were part of a public image of the artist, that had its origin in the first decades of the 20th century. Other works, some of them not meant for the public, give insight into a more intimate reflection, that offers visual approaches to gender, otherness, death and creativity. References to works of Tyko Sallinen, Edvard Munch, Pablo Picasso, Käthe Kollwitz or Francis Bacon help to understand Schjerfbeck’s unique visual meditations on existential questions of humanity.

    Description: In the second half of the 18th century, profound reforms in the agricultural sector had a decisive impact on the economic and social development in the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein. On June 19th, 1766, the grand ducal Government of Gottorf established the General State and Economic Improvement Directorate ("General-Landes- und Ökonomie-Verbesserungsdirektorium") in Kiel to implement the agricultural reform measures in the Gottorf shares of the Duchy of Holstein. The primary tasks of the General Directorate included the surveying and distribution of the village estates, the resulting reorganisation of the services and duties of the subjects and the parcelling out of the domains and outlying buildings. The General State Visitation Commission ("Generallandesvisitationskommission") was associated with the General Directorate. Every second year the Commission was to carry out a comprehensive country search in order to obtain a thorough picture of the conditions in the individual administrative districts. Furthermore, the Commission had to check compliance with the ordinances in the area of competence of the General Directorate. The files of the General Directorate were handed over to the Land Commission in June 1808. In order to facilitate the use of the important information for questions on regional and local agricultural, economic and social history, but also for field name research, the holdings were completely reviewed in 2014 and included in the archival database. Here the data of the old finding aids on titles and running times of all archival records in the holdings were checked. The proven order of the holdings served as the basis for the revision and only underwent minor changes.

    Description: In connection with the transition of the Kingdom of Denmark from an absolutist to a constitutional monarchy in 1848, a fundamental modernisation of the administration took place at the central level. The collegial authorities that had emerged in the 16th and 17th centuries, such as the Danish Chancellery, the Schleswig-Holstein-Lauenburg Chancellery (German Chancellery) or the Chamber of Pensions, were now replaced by ministries. The new central authorities were headed by ministers who were responsible to the Reichstag. The National Archives hold only a small amount of archival material from the Danish ministries. The bulk of the archival records of the authorities listed in this finding aid are held in the Danish National Archives in Copenhagen. Only a few files of the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of the Navy can be found in the holdings of section 77. The main focus is on the records of the Ministry of Finance. Its archival records on customs mainly concern matters in Holstein and Lauenburg, but also in Lübeck; the archival records on domains and on forestry and hunting, on the other hand, relate without exception to the Duchy of Schleswig.

    Description: In her work, Stine von Förster examines the actions of state forces in migration control in Spain, Italy, Greece and Bulgaria. The focus is on the relevance under international criminal law of the handling of migrants in direct connection with irregular entry into the European Union. When examining the events at the borders of the southern EU member states, incidents on the Mediterranean Sea - i.e. before the actual border crossing - as well as the handling of irregular migrants directly following the border crossing are also taken into account. The main subject of the study is the question of whether the handling of irregular migrants at the southern external borders of the EU results in crimes against humanity as defined in Article 7 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court by state forces.

    Description: Die Didaktik hat bis heute ein schwieriges Verhältnis zu Humor und Komik. Das Buch legt historisch dar, wie Schüler*innen einerseits immer vermittelt werden sollte, bestimmte Weisen zu urteilen und handeln „ernst zu nehmen", womit andererseits aber auch immer die Ausgrenzung anderer Formen von Subjektivität als „unernst" einherging. Während die Didaktik des Deutschunterrichts ein Interesse an der Kultivierung bestimmter Formen des Humors hatte, wurden andere Formen als zynisch oder frech verworfen. In der Untersuchung wird rekonstruiert, auf welchen Grundlagen solche Grenzziehungen vorgenommen wurden. Dabei werden die Umrisse einer Ideen- und Programmgeschichte des Deutschunterrichts sichtbar, die mit systematischen Überlegungen zur Didaktik des Komischen verbunden wird.

    Description: Hans and Rahel Liebeschütz were a German-Jewish scientific couple. Both grew up in Hamburg during the German Empire and began their scientific careers in the Weimar Republic. Rahel Liebeschütz was the first woman to habilitate at the Medical Faculty of the University of Hamburg. Hans Liebeschütz was a historian and habilitated in Medieval Latin philology in 1929. The transfer of power to the National Socialists meant the end of their academic careers. Nevertheless, they remained in Hamburg until 1938 and experienced with their three children the increasing disenfranchisement of Jews. It was not until 1938/1939 that they emigrated to England, where they remained after the end of the war. Their impressive career and difficult life in the "Third Reich" and in exile are traced from archival and personal sources.

    Description: History is written in archives, but archival work itself is also subject to change over time. Using the Prussian State Archives in Schleswig-Holstein as an example, this process is examined over the period of its existence from 1870 to 1947. The focus is on the changes in the core tasks, i.e. how the process of evaluating documents changed, what challenges the storage of archival records offered and how much the use of the archive fluctuated. The question of the extent to which individual influences played a role is also emphasized. The other Prussian state archives are used as a comparison. In addition, due to the close historical connection, the relations with Denmark are illuminated.

Sie schließt an die Edition des ersten Teils der «Teltowgraphie» an, womit nun erstmals das Gesamtwerk Jeckels vorliegt.     Description: According to a senior citizen of a trading company in Hamburg, if “he is too stupid for sugar, let him study," Obviously, such an environment did not particularly appreciate science. Nevertheless, Senator Werner von Melle succeeded in collecting a sum of almost four million marks from many foresighted Hamburg citizens, so that the Hamburgische Wissenschaftliche Stiftung (Hamburg Scientific Foundation) was able to come into being on 12 April 1907. This first volume of the series "Patrons for Science" honours in short biographies all personalities who have been involved in the foundation's founding phase, either financially or through their participation on the board of trustees. Many of them have become well-known far beyond Hamburg, others have been completely forgotten. The book is introduced by the essay "Current Past" which embeds the founders of the foundation in the cultural and scientific-political context of Hamburg around the turn of the century.

One hundred years later, Richard Dehmel's house was facing ruin. What had happened? This book reconstructs the history of an extraordinary place and its inhabitants. It commemorates two key figures of artistic modernism: the poet Richard Dehmel (1863-1920), who discovered Thomas Mann, moved Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and inspired Arnold Schönberg, and the art patron Ida Dehmel (1870-1942), who inspired writers, fought for women's rights and founded the women artists' association GEDOK. Based on letters, the book traces the transformation of the Gesamtkunstwerk Dehmelhaus from a legendary artists' meeting place to a place of remembrance. The book asks about the reasons for its disappearance and shows how the Dehmelhaus nevertheless withstood the storms of the 20th century.

The keynote speaker was Heinz-Elmar Tenorth, Professor of Historical Education in Berlin. Heinz Rieter and Rainer Nicolaysen awarded two lecture hall names, the socio-economic economist Eduard Heimann (1889-1967)(Lecture Hall H) and the lawyer Albrecht Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1874-1936) (Lecture Hall K).     Description: Trotz ihrer gesamtwirtschaftlichen Bedeutung hat die kommunale Investitionstätigkeit nur ein geringes Interesse in der Finanzwissen- schaft gefunden. So ist bis heute weitgehend unbekannt, welche Motive eine Gemeinde veranlassen, Investitionsvorhaben in Angriff zu nehmen. Die Studie kommt an Hand empirischer Untersuchungen zu dem Ergebnis, dass die ökonomische Analyse kommunaler Investitionen nicht nur interessante finanzwissenschaftliche Aspekte eröffnet, sondern auch manche tradierte Vorstellung in Frage stellt.

    Description: Die Arbeit besteht somit aus zwei Hauptteilen. Zunächst werden in den "Vorbemerkungen" die wichtigsten Begriffe gegeneinander abgegrenzt und ein Forschungsüberblick gegeben. Da die Entwicklung der russischen Sprache eng mit den jeweiligen geschichtlichen Ereignissen verknüpft ist, werden im ersten, mehr referierenden Teil die geschichtlichen Voraussetzungen für den Sprachwandel in einem kurzen Überblick dargelegt.     Description: The aim of this work is to integrate the West Slavic languages ​​into grammar and language comparisons using modern grammatical approaches. This is done using the example of the imperative sentence in Slovak with a view to other West Slavic languages. This type of sentence is examined for its formal and content-related characteristics. At the same time, its communicative-pragmatic potential is derived and explained from the structural meaning of this mode verbi. The demarcation between the grammar and the pragmatics of the imperative theorem will play an important role here.
    Description: Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die westslawischen Sprachen unter Anwendung moderner grammatiktheoretischer Ansätze in den Grammatik- und Sprachvergleich zu integrieren. Dies erfolgt am Beispiel des Imperativsatzes im Slowakischen mit Blick auf andere westslawische Sprachen. Dieser Satztyp wird hinsichtlich seiner formalen und inhaltlichen Eigenschaften untersucht. Zugleich wird sein kommunikativ-pragmatisches Potential aus der Strukturbedeutung dieses Modus verbi abgeleitet und erklärt. Dabei wird die Grenzziehung zwischen der Grammatik und der Pragmatik des Imperativsatzes eine wichtige Rolle spielen.

    Description: Die Betrachtung aggregierter Beschäftigungsentwicklungen greift zu kurz, wenn man sich für die Dynamik und die Unterschiedlichkeit betriebsindividueller Beschäftigungsveränderungen interessiert. Für diese Arbeit wurden daher erstmals für die baden-württembergische Industrie und die Jahre 1980 bis 1999 amtliche Betriebsdaten zu einem Betriebspaneldatensatz verknüpft. Ausgehend von einer fundierten Analyse der betrieblichen Arbeitsplatzdynamik werden mögliche betriebsindividuelle, branchenspezifische, aber auch regionale Einflussfaktoren des betrieblichen Beschäftigungswachstums einer empirischen Überprüfung unterzogen. Eine ökonometrische Analyse möglicher Determinanten des Auftretens und insbesondere des Überlebens von neu gegründeten Industriebetrieben rundet die Arbeit ab.

    Description: In der EU hat Irland aufgrund seines wirtschaftlichen Aufschwungs und der hohen Direktinvestitionen auf sich aufmerksam gemacht. Die Autorin untersucht, welche internen (Standortfaktoren) und externen Rahmenbedingungen (europäische Integration) eine erfolgreiche Anwerbung von Direktinvestitionen ermöglicht haben. Von besonderem Interesse ist, inwieweit andere Mitgliedsländer der EU die Strategie Irlands übernehmen können. Nach der Ermittlung eines theoretischen Analyserahmens wird dieser auf Irland angewendet. Dabei sind die Direktinvestitionszuflüsse durch die regionale Integration zu erklären, jedoch nur in Kombination mit den irischen Besonderheiten. Insbesondere die langfristige Ausrichtung der wirtschaftspolitischen Maßnahmen auf die MNU haben dazu beigetragen.

    Description: The work consists of two parts. The first part deals exclusively with the aspect properties of Russian prefigured verbs. A perfective analysis for Russian is proposed, which allows to grasp the semantic differences between imperfective Simplizia and its derivative derivatives in semantic terms. The second part of the thesis is an application of the proposed perfective analysis to Russian pere-prefixed verbs. It is shown that the meaning variants of pere-prefixed verbs in Russian can be derived from a general prefix scheme and the semantics of the stem verb.
    Description: Die Arbeit besteht aus zwei Teilen. Der erste Teil befaßt sich ausschließlich mit den aspektuellen Eigenschaften russischer präfigierter Verben. Es wird eine Perfektivanalyse für das Russische vorgeschlagen, die es ermöglicht, die semantischen Unterschiede zwischen imperfektiven Simplizia und ihren perfektiven Derivata in semantischen Termen zu erfassen. Der zweite Teil der Arbeit stellt eine Anwendung der vorgeschlagenen Perfektivanalyse auf russische pere-präfigierte Verben dar. Es wird gezeigt, daß die Bedeutungsvarianten pere-präfigierter Verben im Russischen aus einem allgemeinen Präfixschema und der Semantik des Stammverbs abgeleitet werden können.

    Description: Wie wirken sich politisch-institutionelle Rahmenbedingungen auf die ökonomische Leistungsfähigkeit einer Gesellschaft aus? Dieser Frage wird hier aus dem Blickwinkel der Theorie der politischen Ökonomie nachgegangen. Zunächst werden hierfür die theoretischen Grundlagen skizziert. Auf dieser Basis wird der Schwerpunkt der sich anschließenden Analyse auf die durch politische Systeme definierten kollektiven Entscheidungsverfahren und deren Auswirkungen u. a. auf die Besteuerung, die Bereitstellung öffentlicher Güter und Rent-Seeking gelegt. Hierzu werden etablierte Modelle dargestellt und deren Gemeinsamkeiten aufgezeigt. Abschließend erfolgt eine Überprüfung der theoretischen Schlussfolgerungen anhand des empirischen Forschungsstandes.

    Description: 〈P〉Vasilij Kirillovič Trediakovskij: dieser Name allein schreckt die meisten Leser ab. Daß dieser Gelehrte neben Lomonosov zu den Gründern der neueren russischen Literatur gehört, wird selten gebührend erwähnt. Diese Arbeit soll von ihm handeln, und besonders von einem Werk, das beinahe nicht zur Kenntnis genommen wird. Es soll eine gänzlich in Vergessenheit geratene Begegnung wieder ans Licht kommen: die Begegnung zwischen dem Autor Trediakovskij, dessen Rolle in der Literaturgeschichte unterschätzt wird, und einem Roman John Barclays, der "Argenis", dem in ganz Europa populärsten Roman des 17. Jahrhunderts. Hier wird eine Übersetzung Gegenstand sein; dennoch handelt es sich hier keineswegs um eine übersetzungskritische Arbeit. 〈/P〉

    Description: Die Beschäftigung mit den sprachlichen Merkmalen der Gennadius-Bibel (1499) und Ostroger Bibel (1580/81) hat die Herausgabe der Zizanij-Grammatik (1596), der ersten umfangreicheren Abhandlung über die kirchenslavische Sprache bei den Ostslaven, sinnvoll und wünschenswert erscheinen lassen. Sie stellt sowohl durch den normativen Charakter im grammatikalische Teil als auch durch die staken Einflüsse der Volkssprache in den vorausgehenden und nachfolgenden Teilen ein interessantes Denkmal der letzten Dekade des 16.Jh. dar.

    Description: Die Unterstützung der Innovationstätigkeit von Unternehmen durch staatliche Förderung stellt ein populäres Instrument der Politik dar. Diese Arbeit untersucht unter Anwendung von Ansätzen der Neuen Institutionenökonomik und Entrepreneurship-Theorie die Ausgestaltung von Innovationsförderung am Beispiel des Niedersächsischen Innovationsförderprogramms und die von diesem Programm ausgehende Wirkung auf die beteiligten Akteure. Daran schließt sich die Darstellung der Ergebnisse einer Unternehmensbefragung an, in welcher die theoretischen und empirischen Erkenntnisse verknüpft werden. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei die Fragestellung, inwiefern sich Unternehmen, die Innovationsfördermittel erhalten haben, von nicht geförderten Unternehmen unterscheiden.
