    Description: Bei schweren Gesundheitsbeeinträchtigungen treten häufig kritische Situationen auf, die die Betroffenen, aber auch die Angehörigen und Pflegenden vor besondere Herausforderungen stellen. Dieser Band untersucht solche Situationen in der klinischen Pflege und analysiert unterschiedliche Perspektiven der Beteiligten sowie vielfältige Methoden der professionellen Pflege. Insbesondere Familienmitglieder – Mütter, Väter, Partnerinnen, Partner, Kinder und Geschwister – wollen Einfluss nehmen können, informiert, einbezogen und beteiligt sein. Bei ihnen variieren die Problemlagen und Wünsche je nach Nähe zu den Betroffenen, nach Lebensalter, Geschlecht oder vorherigen Erfahrungen. Daher werden in diesem Band verschiedene kritische Situationen und Anforderungen analysiert. Diese beginnen vor der Geburt, z. B. bei Risikoschwangerschaften, gehen weiter über den Bereich der Pflege Frühgeborener auf neonatologischen Intensivstationen bis hin zu Situationen in der Kinderintensivpflege und zur Intensivpflege Erwachsener. In der klinischen Pflege wurden – den unterschiedlichen Problemlagen entsprechend – neue und innovative professionelle Konzepte entwickelt. Durch die Beforschung dieser Konzepte lassen sich Schlüsse über deren Eignung oder deren Weiterentwicklung ziehen. Ein Teil der Beiträge prüft die Forschungslage über Literaturanalysen, um Erkenntnisse aus internationalen Studien vorzustellen und für die Pflege im deutschsprachigen Raum zu reflektieren sowie spezifische Forschungsbedarfe zu formulieren. Weitere Beiträge zeigen aufgrund empirischer qualitativer Studien, wie die kritischen Situationen und neu entwickelten Pflegekonzepte durch die Beteiligten wahrgenommen werden. Eine Auswertung der Beiträge durch die Herausgeberin für eine theoretische Weiterentwikklung des Feldes schließt den Band ab.

Die empirischen Befunde liefern Hinweise und Merkmale zu Suchtkarriere, Familienbiographie, zum Grad der Traumatisierung, zu Vorerkrankungen, zum Freizeitverhalten, der Beschaffenheit der sozialen Netzwerke und zu geschlechtsspezifischen Besonderheiten. Abschließend geben die AutorInnen Empfehlungen für die pädagogischtherapeutische Behandlung von jugendlichen Suchtpatienten und -patientinnen. Die Schnittstelle zwischen Jugendhilfe und Psychiatrie wird dabei besonders beleuchtet.

    Description: The current political discourse on the "further development and control of child and youth welfare" attempts to discredit and repress outpatient help for upbringing. The present "plea" interferes professionally and politically in this debate. The authors provide a critical assessment of the current situation of child and youth welfare and in particular of educational assistance and trace the process of the debate on the "further development and control of educational assistance". On the basis of detailed description and analysis of the two basic approaches to action in social work (social work in and with the social space on the one hand and individual casework, e.g. educational assistance, on the other), it deals with the question of whether the controversy alleged by politicians between the two approaches to action is technically justified. In this context, the two approaches to action are presented in their history and development and in their different conceptions. In addition to a clear plea for the preservation and consistently professional design of educational assistance in the context of life-world orientation, this also leads to the realisation that social work in general - and especially in times of neo-liberalisation of the social - is subject to the risk of individualisation. On the other hand, within both approaches it is also possible today to fend off this tendency and to act as a critical force in this society. In addition to the technical, ideological and political examination of the new control intentions of politics vis-à-vis aid for education, this book contains detailed descriptions and discussions on various individual topics, among others: - Technical characteristics, action orientations and process design of the action approaches "Outpatient individual case assistance" and "Work in and with the social space" (8.4 and 9.3, 9.4) - What shares does social work itself have in its partly unprofessional state? This eighth volume of the series, with a foreword by Kristina Reiss, focuses on the goals and conditions for successful mathematical education in elementary and primary schools. Christiane Benz, Meike Grüßing, Jens Holger Lorenz, Christoph Selter and Bernd Wollring specify in their expertise the pedagogical and content-related target dimensions of mathematical education in nursery and primary school age. In addition to a theoretical foundation of various target areas, instruments for their measurement are listed. Furthermore, the authors discuss conditions for effective and effective early mathematical education in practice. They also give recommendations for the further development of the Foundation's services and the scientific support of the Foundation's work in the field of mathematics. This involves affiliations and demarcations, relative autonomy and relative dependence. Based on a qualitative research project, the author explores the question of how family members experience return processes and thereby continually create 'family/families'. She analyses the interactions between the actions, feelings and explanations of young people and parents in interaction with the activities of professional actors and the legally coded structures of child and youth welfare. The empirically and theoretically orientated work links important discussions of child and youth welfare research with current concepts of family research. In particular, a relational model of care in private responsibility and in structures of state child and youth welfare interventions is developed. In addition, suggestions for practice are provided.

Die Autorin geht basierend auf einem qualitativen Forschungsprojekt der Frage nach, wie Familienmitglieder Rückkehrprozesse erleben und dabei ‚Familie(n)‘ laufend herstellen. Sie analysiert die Wechselwirkungen der Handlungen, Gefühle und Erklärungen von jungen Menschen und Eltern in Zusammenspiel mit den Aktivitäten der Fachakteur*innen sowie den rechtlich codierten Strukturen der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe. In der empirisch und theoretisch ausgerichteten Arbeit werden wichtige Diskussionen der Kinder- und Jugendhilfeforschung mit aktuellen Konzepten der Familienforschung verknüpft. Insbesondere wird ein relationales Modell zu Sorge/Care in privater Verantwortung und in Strukturen der Interventionen der staatlichen Kinder- und Jugendhilfe entwickelt. Darüber hinaus werden Anregungen für die Praxis zur Verfügung gestellt.

    Description: Using virtue as an example, the study provides an insight into the normative and subjective orientations of young people in their everyday school context. The concept of virtue in previous educational debates is juxtaposed with a perspective that incorporates the students' point of view: In contrast to the normatively used concept of virtue, the present findings present virtue of honesty as an ambivalent behavior that is situation-, context- and person-dependent. Since ancient Greece, virtues have been a central theme of pedagogy. Educational philosophers have repeatedly developed catalogues of virtues which they assumed could guide practical education. The present work asks how young people adapt to educational demands and undermine them to their own advantage. The question is pursued using the example of school-relevant virtue honesty by interviewing 16 young people in the school context using problem-centred interviews. The results of the study refer to explicit and implicit rules of honesty, which can be divided into conventional and unconventional rules.

    Description: The demand for more men as pre-school teachers in day-care centres is becoming clearer and clearer For this reason, the Austrian research project "Elementar" has comprehensively investigated the situation of male pre-school teachers and carers in the elementary field in a unique study. The diverse results emphasise the opportunities associated with the participation of men, but also call for a critical and differentiated examination of gender issues in the elementary field. Pupils, trainees and teachers working in practice were interviewed using quantitative and qualitative methods. Male trainees and skilled workers were surveyed in a full survey. The results were evaluated using statistical methods and qualitative content analyses. For the first time, biographical backgrounds and identities of male pre-school teachers were also examined psychoanalytically. On the basis of their results, the authors formulate concrete calls for action for research, practice and politics.

    Description: How do professionals in open youth work deal with violence among young people? On the basis of an ethnographic study based on Grounded Theory, the author points out different processing strategies. The results show that professionals primarily interpret and deal with violence as a risk. It becomes clear that the action strategies of the social workers refer to approaches of sanctioning pedagogy on the one hand and youth work as education on the other. The ethnographic study in the style of Grounded Theory with a professional theoretical perspective was conducted in five different youth clubs over a period of one and a half years. Although violence between young people is relatively rare, it is omnipresent in the thinking of professional forces as a scenario that could develop. The presentation of typical situations from youth clubs shows that they constantly act in the sense of violence prevention close to everyday life and try to prevent a violent development through targeted action strategies. Within this framework, it becomes clear that two patterns of professional problem construction are central - on the one hand, following the sanctioning pedagogy, on the other hand, an understanding of youth work as education. Against this background, the interpretation and action strategies of skilled workers were discussed.

Es werden verschiedene Fälle analysiert, in denen unter anderem das Spannungsfeld der emotionalen Belastung von Fachkräften und ihre pädagogischen Handlungsspielräume eine Rolle spielen. Außerdem gibt die Studie Aufschluss über den Umgang mit der Ausübung von Gewalt aus der Sicht Jugendlicher oder mit den Folgen suizidalen Verhaltens. Der Ausdruck von Scham durch die Jugendlichen, der Fachkräfte sowie auch das Schamempfinden der Forschenden sind hierbei Anhaltspunkte, von denen aus Kontraste und strukturelle Zusammenhänge in den Daten gefunden werden. Bei der Interpretation werden soziologische Affekttheorien einbezogen, die betonen, dass ein dichotomes Verständnis von Affekten als nur positiv oder negativ deren komplexer Funktion nicht gerecht wird. Damit leistet das Buch einen Beitrag zum Verstehen des sozialen Sinns von Affekten und macht die Affektforschung für die Sozialpädagogik fruchtbar.
    Description: In this book, the author examines the topic of shame dynamics in residential care for adolescents by interpreting ethnographically collected interaction processes. The expressions of shame by the adolescents, their caregivers, as well as the researchers’ perception of shame, are points of reference from which contrasts and structural connections in the data are identified. Modern theories of affect are included, which emphasise that a dichotomous understanding of affects as only positive or negative does not do justice to their complex function. In this way, the work contributes to understanding the social meaning of affects and makes affect research fruitful for social pedagogy.

    Description: Mobile youth work is a social support service for a particularly vulnerable target group. The present study on four institutions of mobile youth work in Austria captured the high complexity of the dynamics and interrelations of effects in this field of intervention through a complex research design and a mix of five methodological approaches. Each research approach was characterised by special strengths that complemented each other and made particularly meaningful impact findings possible.

Georg Auernheimer, Ursula Boos-Nünning, Stefan Gaitanides, Franz Hamburger, Leonie Herwartz-Emden, Marianne Krüger-Potratz and Wolfgang Nieke review their own scientific development, embedded in biographic, historical and political contexts as well as the discourses within the scientific field. Students of educational science and social work are given a vivid access to theoretical and practical traditions and thus a better understanding of current debates.

Diese Schriftenreihe dient einem fachlichen Dialog zwischen Stiftung, Wissenschaft und Praxis, mit dem Ziel, allen Kitas, Horten und Grundschulen in Deutschland fundierte Unterstützung für ihren Bildungsauftrag zu geben. Der vorliegende zehnte Band der Reihe mit einem Geleitwort von Hans-Günther Roßbach stellt die Ergebnisse der Studien zu Wirkungen naturwissenschaftlicher Bildungsangebote auf pädagogische Fachkräfte und Kinder im Vorschulalter vor. Mirjam Steffensky, Yvonne Anders, Julia Barenthien, Ilonca Hardy, Miriam Leuchter, Elisa Oppermann, Päivi Taskinen und Tobias Ziegler untersuchten die Wirkungen naturwissenschaftlicher Bildungsangebote auf die kognitiven und motivationalen Kompetenzen von pädagogischen Fachkräften und Kindern in Kitas. Insgesamt konnte aufgezeigt werden, dass die Teilnahme an naturwissenschaftlichen Fortbildungen in einem positiven Zusammenhang mit den naturwissenschaftlichen professionellen Kompetenzen pädagogischer Fachkräfte stehen und dass Kinder aus Einrichtungen mit einem expliziten naturwissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkt höhere Lernfreude und höheres Selbstvertrauen in Bezug auf Naturwissenschaften zeigen als Kinder in Einrichtungen ohne naturwissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkt. Astrid Rank, Anja Wildemann, Sabina Pauen, Andreas Hartinger, Sabrina Tietze und Rahel Kästner untersuchten die Interaktionsqualität und mögliche sprachliche Bildungswirkungen im Kontext naturwissenschaftlicher Bildungsangebote bei Vorschulkindern. Die Studie legt nahe, dass naturwissenschaftliche Fortbildungen die naturwissenschaftlichen Kompetenzen wie auch den Spracherwerb der Kinder unterstützen und die Prozessqualität der Fachkräfte in naturwissenschaftsbezogenen Situationen bestimmen können. Das Schlusskapitel des Bandes beschreibt die Umsetzung der wissenschaftlichen Empfehlungen in den inhaltlichen Angeboten der Stiftung "Haus der kleinen Forscher" und ihrer fachlichen Weiterentwicklung.

    Description: In dieser qualitativ-rekonstruktiven Studie an der Schnittstelle von qualitativer Bildungs - forschung, Familienforschung und Übergangsforschung untersucht Michael Hermes Bildungsorientierungen im Erfahrungsraum Familie. Im Fokus stehen inter- und intra - generationale Aushandlungsprozesse in der Gestaltung und Erfahrung von Übergängen im Bildungssystem. Untersucht werden Fälle am Übergang von Grundschule zum Gymnasium. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit gilt der Frage, welche Rolle vorhandene Bildungsorientierungen in der Familie spielen. Es entfaltet sich ein Bild vom konjunktiven Erfahrungsraum Familie, in dem biographische Erfahrungen, grundlegende Orientierungen sowie die Familienerziehung ineinander übergehen. Auf der Grundlage von zehn Familienfällen werden unterschiedliche Dimensionen von Bildungsorientierungen unterschieden. Es erfolgt eine detaillierte Rekonstruktion der jeweiligen Erfahrungsräume der Familien. Abseits milieuspezifischer Zuschreibungen steht das jeweilige konjunktive Wissen der Familienmitglieder im Vordergrund der Rekonstruktionen. Es lassen sich Unterschiede zwischen rekonstruierbaren Bildungsorientierungen herausarbeiten, die jedoch jeweils im konjunktiven Erfahrungsraum der Familie verwurzelt sind und kontinuierlich in diesen hinein wirken. Auch durch Übergänge im Bildungssystem wird diese Kontinuität nicht aufgebrochen. Vielmehr sind es die grund - legenden Bildungsorientierungen von Eltern, die in der Erfahrung von Diskontinuität die Art und Weise der Handlungspraxis bestimmen.

    Description: A trend can be observed whereby violently racist attitudes are shared by both extreme right-wing and reactionary bourgeois milieus and are becoming normalized in public discourse. This situation reflects what sociological research has attested for years: Civil societies are not necessarily progressive, democratic, and public welfare oriented. They can be reactionary, anti-democratic, and aggressively self-interested. With a view to this ""dark side of civil society,"" the study examines projects of human rights-oriented community work (GWA) designed specifically for such problem constellations. The study examines the conditions for success of socio-spatial processes of change towards a more democratic everyday culture through GWA and develops proposals for their conceptual further development.
    Description: Es lässt sich ein Trend verzeichnen, nachdem gewalttätig rassistische Haltungen sowohl von extrem rechten als auch reaktionär-bürgerlichen Milieus geteilt werden und sich im öffentlichen Diskurs normalisieren. Diese Situation spiegelt wider, was die soziologische Einstellungsforschung seit Jahren attestiert: Zivilgesellschaften sind nicht unbedingt progressiv, demokratisch und gemeinwohlorientiert. Sie können reaktionär, antidemokratisch und aggressiv eigenwohlorientiert sein. Mit Blick auf diese „dunkle Seite der Zivilgesellschaft“ untersucht die Arbeit speziell für solche Problemkonstellationen konzipierte Projekte einer menschenrechtsorientierten Gemeinwesenarbeit (GWA). Dabei untersucht die Arbeit Gelingensbedingungen für sozialräumliche Veränderungsprozesse zu mehr demokratischer Alltagskultur durch GWA und entwickelt Vorschläge für deren konzeptuelle Weiterentwicklung.
