    Description: The volume, dedicated to the 44th International Conference of the Italian Union for Drawing, investigates the theme of ‘Transitions’, which particularly effectively represents our time and the current condition of the discipline of Drawing. In fact, the disciplines of drawing have always been confronted with themes and issues relating to transitions from one condition to another.     Description: Durante los siglos XVII y XVIII se presentaron varias querellas ante el tribunal de justicia criminal del Nuevo Reino de Granada, en las que se denunciaba que había personas que ejercían los oficios médicos sin tener títulos que los acreditaran como facultativos en las artes curativas. Por ese entonces, se creía que quienes utilizaban yerbas y conjuros como métodos terapéuticos, por lo general mujeres, debían ser juzgadas como yerbateras-envenenadoras, porque no pretendían curar sino matar a quien consumiera sus preparados. Este texto establece que los procesos criminales por envenenamiento constituyen un prisma en el que convergen diferentes problemáticas del periodo colonial neogranadino, relacionadas con la salud, los oficios médicos, las enfermedades, las creencias mágico-religiosas, el ideal de mujer en la época, la delincuencia, y las dinámicas de las instituciones españolas, entre otras.

Su mayor desarrollo tuvo lugar a principios del siglo XXI, al integrarse a las políticas exteriores de un conjunto de países que, en paralelo, impulsaban en la agenda política y económica internacional reformas de gobernanza global, reconfiguración de alianzas regionales y coaliciones interregionales. El actual contexto latinoamericano es un momento crucial para reflexionar sobre el futuro de aquellas acciones que habilitaron el rico y valioso entramado que da nombre a este libro. En estas páginas, el foco fue puesto en un paso previo y fundamental de revisión y balance de una década de Cooperación entre los países del sur. Es esencial revisar hoy las estrategias, tanto en el plano regional como en los ámbitos nacionales. Es fundamental conocer los avances y los desafíos a los que se han enfrentado cada uno de estos países en la tentativa de promover el desarrollo y la integración regional. Y también es necesario sostener una premisa: los países del Sur pueden y deben continuar cooperando entre sí.

    Description: The perspective in graphic arts was born with a different form than the one used to present it in today’s courses, and it developed along with the transformations of scientific thought. This study disassembles from the inside the perspective images of a series of works, and then assembles them again, using clear graphic elaborations to show every step of the process. The sequence of the essays illustrates the evolution of role of the abacus and of measures in the works of the first artist-scientists, according to the scientific thought of the time. From Humanism to Baroque, perspective ceases to be a research on the truth of the eye. On the contrary, it becomes the search of the the eye’s deception, exploiting mechanical devices and complex theorems of geometric optics. The original quest is therefore replaced by technical virtuosity. The final repertoire offers a selection of examples showing the wideness of the theme over the centuries.

    Description: La fiesta de toros en su moderna forma plebeya (la tauromaquia a pie) cuajó en la ciudad de Sevilla, vinculada al matadero municipal, en el siglo XVIII; desde entonces se convierte en un espectáculo que atrae las masas. Este trabajo analiza los tratos jurídicos que vincularon a los diversos interesados en ese espectáculo: los toreros (matadores, picadores, banderilleros), los ganaderos, los maestrantes sevillanos (propietarios de la plaza de toros), los empresarios que organizaron festejos y un amplio catálogo de artesanos que prestan su pericia con ese fin. Se estudia, en particular, la naturaleza de la prestación de servicios entre toreros y empresarios, en sus diversas modalidades (actuaciones singulares o por temporada, contrato de un lidiador o de toda una cuadrilla...), así como la atribución de las consecuencias dañosas de los percances acontecidos durante la lidia. Un apéndice documental recoge las referencias de las escrituras notariales localizadas, con transcripción completa de varias, particularmente significativas.

La música, el audiovisual, la danza, el arte del grafiti y la defensa del medioambiente, son plataformas desde donde los jóvenes convocan al otro, lo afectan, lo conmueven, lo convocan a hacer comunidad.

    Description: Se espera que este libro, en primer lugar, nutra la reexión sobre la apremiante necesidad de repensar la formación de los docentes y el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico en los países de origen de los investigadores y en las universidades, las facultades y los centros de enseñanza donde se hallan vinculados. En segundo lugar, construir comunidad académica en el contexto del Grupo de Trabajo de CLACSO “Formación docente y pensamiento crítico", de tal manera que se fortalezca la docencia y la investigación en contextos multisituados de la región latinoamericana, a la vez que se posibilitan proyectos transformadores de realidades en diferentes niveles educativos. La lectura de estas siete obras de Freire ha suscitado reexiones del orden político, social, económico, educativo y cultural que, se aspira, entren en diálogo con otras voces interesadas en la formación de docentes en todo el sentido del concepto. Finalmente, hay que anotar que el método Freire sigue en vía de ser reconocido y puesto en práctica en los escenarios reales y particulares de aquellos docentes interesados en su propia formación y en la de sus estudiantes como pensadores críticos. La autorevisión, la autocrítica, la evaluación y los ajustes al mismo método se constituyen en parte de sus características.

    Description: La tarea de elaborar una antología del pensamiento social crítico en Guatemala ha supuesto un esfuerzo en varios sentidos. En primer lugar, delimitar qué se entiende por pensamiento crítico, y luego, decidir qué período abarcar, cuáles autoras y autores incluir, y cuáles los textos pertinentes […]. Para acotar la búsqueda se comprendió como pensamiento social crítico al conjunto de ideas elaboradas desde perspectivas divergentes, a contracorriente de los discursos y las historias oficiales, que han sido el resultado de la investigación, análisis, sistematización y reflexión sobre la realidad de la sociedad guatemalteca, con el propósito de desentrañar las estructuras de poder que sostienen un orden desigual, de raíces coloniales, que niega derechos y limita el desarrollo humano de la mayoría de la población, particularmente de las mujeres, y los pueblos indígenas. En la antología que ahora se presenta, se incluye a treinta y cinco autoras y autores, mujeres y hombres, de diversas identidades, y generaciones. Algunos con una producción muy vasta y otros que inician sus reflexiones. Se trató de mostrar una polifonía de voces y perspectivas, y para efectos de una mejor comprensión se establecieron cuatro ejes que dan cuenta de las principales preocupaciones sociales, intelectuales y políticas que han predominado en las décadas de finales del siglo veinte e inicios del veintiuno: “Estado, política, sociedad y economía" (Eje 1); “Violencia política, movimientos sociales, memoria e historia" (Eje 2); “Etnicidad, relaciones interétnicas, racismo" (Eje 3); y, por último, “Cuerpos, género, feminismos, sexualidades, violencia" (Eje 4). […] Considero este texto como un aporte más en el conocimiento de la producción intelectual en Guatemala, una invitación a profundizar en el pensamiento social crítico, a identificar autorías, temas y problemáticas que ahora no fueron incorporadas. Una motivación para continuar indagando y construyendo la historia de los aportes intelectuales en el país, ampliando miradas y ejes de análisis, temporalidades y temáticas.     Description: Este texto se pregunta ¿cuál es la propuesta de Foucault respecto a la experiencia de la homosexualidad actual? La hipótesis de trabajo surge de la siguiente deducción: si la experiencia de la homosexualidad genera una ética sexual y una estética de la existencia, tanto en la Antigua Grecia como en la actualidad, entonces la interrogación por la homosexualidad conlleva a una pregunta por la constitución del sujeto. Para abordar esta cuestión, es necesario entender el análisis del autor sobre la ética sexual en la Antigua Grecia centrada en la relación amorosa entre hombres libres. A partir de la noción griega de una estética de la existencia, es posible reflexionar sobre los peligros que acechan a los movimientos homosexuales con la entrada en el ámbito de lo público, la adquisición de derechos y una política de la identidad. Estos movimientos se han integrado a las instituciones sociales hegemónicas a las que pretendían resistir y al dispositivo de la sexualidad al que pretendían oponerse. En esa línea, se encuentran actualmente los estudios de género, LGBTI y queer replanteando los modos de resistencia a partir del pensamiento de Foucault y la estilización de la libertad, la identidad y los placeres.

    Description: Este libro es el resultado de la investigación realizada entre la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas-Doctorado en Estudios Sociales y el Instituto para la Investigación Educativa y Pedagógica-IDEP, durante el año 2016 y denominada “Construcción de territorios de paz: subjetivaciones, resistencias Ciudadanas y pedagogías para la noviolencia". Consideramos que este momento histórico de Colombia, en su camino hacia la reconciliación nacional, las propuestas educativas de los maestros y maestras adquieren un gran protagonismo en la construcción de una cultura de paz que logre desdibujar la violencia que por largo tiempo ha permeado las existencias en este país. Son los docentes encargados de formar a las nuevas generaciones, quienes pueden contribuir al descubrimiento de una pedagogía que se orienta en la fuerza y la intensidad de los afectos, el respeto por el otro diferente, la convivencia armónica con la naturaleza y la solidaridad con todos aquellos seres que no son humanos y que merecen nuestro cuidado y no la explotación y su destrucción. Desde la educación es posible pensar y crear otra vida donde los deseos y la alegría reemplace el dolor, la muerte y la oscuridad de la guerra y que podamos unirnos solidariamente con toda la diversidad del planeta.

    Description: Este libro pone en diálogo las discusiones del buen vivir con una serie de propuestas que se desplegaron entre mediados de la década de los sesenta y comienzos de la década del ochenta en América Latina. En aquél contexto, Fundación Bariloche, Oscar Varsavsky y, en buena medida la CEPAL, se ocuparon de formular alternativas al patrón de desarrollo centrado en el crecimiento económico, al tiempo que mostraron la factibilidad de esos otros estilos de desarrollo mediante el diseño de modelos matemáticos multivariados. Más recientemente, las propuestas del buen vivir, inspiradas en el Sumak Kawsay, han involucrado una profunda crítica al neoliberalismo y su modelo civilizatorio. La apuesta del libro es desestabilizar el efecto de homogeneidad y evidencia con el que suele presentarse "EL" desarrollo y mostrar que en distintas coyunturas ha sido objeto de impugnaciones y luchas.

    Description: Suele decirse que la primera víctima de una guerra es la verdad. De hecho, en una guerra en sentido estricto o en una guerra política, el asesinato de la verdad y la ocultación de los hechos ocurren profusamente. En Brasil no es diferente. La primera víctima del golpe parlamentario de 2016 no fue sólo la democracia. Fue también la verdad. Antes del golpe, y para justificarlo, las fuerzas antipopulares y antinacionales difundieron, hasta el cansancio, una serie de mentiras sobre los gobiernos del Partido de los Trabajadores (PT). Las fuerzas golpistas que asaltaron Brasil quieren hacer tábula rasa de este legado, ocultando los hechos a la población y destruyendo las extraordinarias realizaciones de este período histórico virtuoso. Por lo tanto, este trabajo es un esbozo para revelar y analizar este legado. No sólo para mostrar lo que se hizo en el pasado, sino fundamentalmente para revelar lo que puede hacerse en el futuro. Estamos convencidos de que si Brasil supera el golpe, la desestructuración del Estado y del mundo del trabajo, sus medidas extremadamente regresivas y promueve un nuevo ciclo de desarrollo, la base para tal superación debe estar basada en el legado de los gobiernos del PT.     Description: La democracia es un elemento de disputa discursiva en América Latina porque existen posiciones políticas disímiles que corresponden, por lo menos, a un par de enfoques interpretativos de carácter normativo sobre esta forma de gobierno. Una postura cuestiona la democracia liberal por sus limitaciones representativas y deriva en apelaciones a la democracia participativa como una alternativa que desdeña de las mediaciones partidistas. Una mirada opuesta reclama la vigencia plena de la democracia representativa y el Estado de derecho para establecer límites a la participación popular porque la acción directa de los movimientos sociales debilita los canales institucionales de la política. Estuvo y sigue estando en el centro de la agenda mediática internacional, agenda marcada mayoritariamente por una visión epistémica del Norte global. Por eso es necesario, más que nunca, un acercamiento desde el enfoque de las Epistemologías del Sur, para superar las interpretaciones eurocéntricas y contribuir a una visión diversa de la existencia y resistencia del pueblo palestino.     Description: The history of the Cuban school is doubly intertwined with the history of the country’s social and economic evolution since the early days of the 1956 Revolution. Arguably, the escuela media superior has been the most subjected to experiments, reforms, successes, mistakes and difficulties, but it has been recognized as having a distinct degree of quality by international bodies, such as UNESCO. This ‘level’ of the Cuban educational system has assumed a fundamental role over the decades, after having resolved the shortcomings of the previous school system and having been adapted on several occasions to the changes in the socio-economic policies of the communist government. In fact, it trained qualified technicians essential to the economic development of Cuba and created a mass consciousness, whose unifying element resided in the collective commitment and not in that of the individual.

    Description: Por deseo fundacional, Alcalá carecía de facultad de leyes. Los estudios de derecho civil se iniciaron en Alcalá en 1673 —aunque previamente existían lecciones extraordinarias de esa materia— con la creación de dos cátedras de Instituta como auxilio a la enseñanza de cánones. Con el plan de 1772 —cuya azarosa génesis reconstruye cuidadosamente Ramon Aznar— la antigua facultad de cánones se convierte en facultad de derechos o jurisprudencia: se modifican cátedras, se establecen manuales de clara orientación regalista para su estudio, se controla la asistencia y los conocimientos. La aplicación de las reformas fue encomendada por el consejo de Castilla a un organismo de nueva planta: la junta del método de estudios. El plan de 1772 afectó de lleno también a las academias, pieza fundamental en la enseñanza universitaria del siglo XVIII vinculadas fundamentalmente a los manteistas. Éstas eran centros autónomos de los estudios y tenían una clara orientación práctica: enseñaban a exponer y argüir en público, conocimientos que eran esenciales para el éxito de los actos académicos, exámenes de grados y oposiciones. Catedráticos y estudiantes no podían quedar al margen de estas reformas, se aprecia así el final del dominio colegial sobre las cátedras, el perfil de los nuevos profesores de cánones y leyes, su producción intelectual, los salarios de las cátedras. En cuanto a los alumnos se realiza su recuento, distribución por facultades, procedencia geográfica, edad, mortalidad académica y un apunte sobre la vida cotidiana. El libro se cierra con tres apéndices: el reglamento de las academias de jurisprudencia —inédito hasta el momento—, una relación de todos los opositores juristas con sus méritos —datos imprescindibles para otras investigaciones— y el elenco de los profesores juristas.

The term, beyond its generic meaning of an intermediate stage in a process in which a condition changes from one state to another, has always been used in various fields, from music to geophysics. In fact, the disciplines of drawing have always been confronted with themes and issues relating to transitions from one condition to another. The history of representation tells us of transformations, even epochal ones, relating to ‘drawing’, with all that such transitions entail: suffice it to think of the evolution of forms of representation, of instrumental apparatuses, of the mutability of supports, of the analogical-digital transition underway, of the new modes of communication on platforms, of the hypertrophic offer of images also on the net that confirms Guy Debord’s intuitions relating to the new spectacularisation of society.     Description: Éste es el trabajo de un politólogo sobre algunas políticas culturales del Estado mexicano en los últimos treinta años del siglo XX, que vieron el ocaso del sistema prisita. Luego de examinar sus antecedentes, el autor las somete a escrutinio, siempre con la preocupación de situarlas en su entorno, relacionarlas con medidas públicas en otros ámbitos y dilucidar sus intenciones y efectos. El análisis expone más debilidades que fortalezas y concluye que las políticas culturales del priismo en decadencia quedaron por debajo de sus promesas y de las necesidades nacionales. Sin embargo, suplió estas carencias la política relativa a la instrucción primaria, fuente de legitimidad de un sistema político inusualmente longevo, en contubernio perverso con la sociedad en la que estaba arraigado. Y a pesar de todo queda alguna nostalgia, frente a la desolación del presente.

    Description: The contribution reworks an essay published in the journal «LEA» (2015) through combining it with a short paper presented at a Conference (2019) introducing readings of excerpts from Magris’ Non luogo a procedere. The essay also adds some critical considerations suggested by more recent studies published at an international level close to the translations and corresponds to the conclusion of the second Meridiano of Mondadori devoted to the writer’s works. It takes on a sum of knowledge that transformed it, gradually assuming a somewhat exorbitant dimension. A work represents for Magris the sea into which all the rivers of writing have flowed, just as for Pirandello with his Uno, nessuno e centomila.

    Description: The Circum-Caribbean and its diasporas constitute a space of relations and disconnections. Historically, the Caribbean served as a bridgehead for the European conquest of the Americas and a point of exchange of human beings, ideas, and commodities. It also became a laboratory of modern forms of social, political, and economic production. Today, the region represents a multilingual space of conviviality for many different cultures, but is also the focus of the dissonances, ruptures and insularities produced by its distinct histories of colonialism and resistance. This interdisciplinary volume seeks to explore how (non-)circulation of ideas occurred historically in the glocal production of knowledge in and about the Caribbean and to formulate a clearer picture of who is creating which vision of the Caribbean, and how.     Description: Nicaragua es un símbolo. Y no cualquier clase de símbolo: es un símbolo revolucionario. Si Cuba demostró en 1959 que una revolución en Nuestra América era posible, Nicaragua lo ratificó veinte años más tarde. Por eso, la crisis que atraviesa Nicaragua desde 2018 obliga a la izquierda a posicionarse. Cuando proyectamos este libro no faltó quien cuestionara el proyecto, considerando vergonzoso proponer un análisis en lugar de ofrecer apoyo en las trincheras donde, a diario, morían jóvenes nicaragüenses. ¿Cabía pensar en un libro frente a este panorama? La respuesta es afirmativa. Este proyecto editorial -impulsado por el Grupo de Trabajo el Istmo Centroamericano- es un compromiso y un reto. El compromiso de pensar las realidades políticas, sociales, económicas y culturales de Centroamérica de manera colectiva, en perspectiva regional y con una mirada interdisciplinaria.
