La violencia – distinta del poder – busca siempre instrumentos para su existencia. Tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial no se siguió un período de paz, sino que la Guerra Fría y el establecimiento de un complejo-militar-industrial (Arendt, 1970). Karl Marx (2010) en el 18 Brumario de Luis Bonaparte afirmaba que los acontecimientos históricos se pasan dos veces en la Historia: una como tragedia y la segunda como farsa. Es precisamente sobre esa segunda fase o repetición de los acontecimientos históricos que se trata este libro. La idea de intentar hacer una aproximación a los estudios de la realidad del siglo XXI en respecto a la estética de la violencia, entendiendo esa estética como la presentación de esa violencia particular de la contemporaneidad con sus instrumentos facilitadores, con sus discursos y sus prácticas que posibilitan la naturalización de una política castradora de derechos. ¿Esta estética de la violencia en nuestra contemporaneidad se porta de manera similar a la estética de procesos históricos anteriores?
