    Beschreibung: The aim of the research report is to present the results of the representative survey carried out in the RESTABUS project. This survey is the first of its kind and scope in the Czech Republic in its focus on mapping the prevalence of elder abuse, exploitation, neglect, other violence and undermining of dignity of older people (EAN). The survey was carried out among 2687 respondents aged 65 to 99 years living at home (outside residential care) and is representative of the older population in the Czech Republic. The topic of EAN is complemented by issues of the perceived prevalence of EAN in the public space, capturing attitudes towards restorative justice, and early trauma incidents (experience of violence in childhood and middle age). Thus, the research not only describes the level of prevalence of violence and ill-treatment of older people in the Czech Republic, but also maps the impact of experienced incidents on the quality of life of persons at risk, ascertains the attitudes of the older people towards the functionality of available forms of help and support, and suggests the direction of their possible further development. The report includes a methodological section, a results section and a tabular annex.

    Beschreibung: Title in English: Vladislav Vančura in the Literary Context of the 20th Century On June 23, 2021, it was the 130th anniversary of Vladislav Vančura’s birth, and June 1, 2022, was the 80th anniversary of his death. These anniversaries became the impetus for a collective volume entitled Vladislav Vančura in the Literary Context of the 20th Century. The editor Jiří Poláček approached researchers from various disciplines from literary studies to linguistics and to theatre studies with an appeal to think and rethink the literary and general cultural legacy of this important figure. The book volume by the team of researchers from six Czech universities is an attempt to reflect on the oeuvre by Vančura from the perspective of the current state of knowledge in literary studies and the broader context of the 20th century. The image of Vladislav Vančura within the context of the previous century arises from 15 texts by 15 authors, organized into four thematic blocks.

Cancer is nowadays one of the most common diseases. Prevention plays important role in decreasing the incidence of oncological diseases, therefore it is very important that the basic knowledge about prevention of oncological diseases be given to primary school pupils. The main purpose is to acquaint pupils with primary and secondary prevention of oncological diseases and to increase their health literacy in this area. The material includes a suggestion for 20 lessons. Each of them contains professional information for teachers’ theoretical preparation, suggestions for the lesson, a worksheet with solutions, and proposal activities on the topic.

The key criteria for our definition of this group are age and a break in the formal educational trajectory after high school.     Beschreibung: Title in English: Czech Problem Drama of the 1960s. In his monograph Czech Problem Drama of the 1960s, David Kroča (b. 1973), a literary scholar and educator at Masaryk University, focuses on a period that can in many respects be viewed as a turning point in the poetics of the original Czech drama. From the varied production of drama in the 1960s, which was rich in genre, he chose to research a specific stream called problem drama in which an ordinary dramatic conflict is substituted with an escalated confrontation of different opinions related to a particular problem. The introductory theoretical and context chapters consider the developmental tendencies in Czech drama as well as some important foreign resources. The core of the work consists of analytical and interpretative chapters which deal with the analysis of those dramas where the authors tackle serious existential problems and question social and moral responsibility.

Due to the influence of multilayered cultural expressions and the influence of multimedia means, however, the question of how to present the musical and folklore heritage to school youth is more prominent. The object of investigation was the application of folk music to school education.

    Beschreibung: Title in English: XII. Student Scientific Conference of the Czech Language and Literature Department. This publication presents papers from an academic conference held in Brno on October 8, 2020. The participants of the conference are Master's and PhD students. Jan Oujezdský focuses on onomastic issues in his paper “Uliční název jako anoikonymum a jeho odlišnosti od ostatních jmen nesídelních objektů [Street Names as Minor Place-names and How they Differ from Other Names of Non-Residential Objects]”. Andrea Kytlicová examines spoken expressions in the paper entitled “Větná stavba mluvených projevů žáků 2. stupně ZŠ při komunikaci ve výuce [Sentence Structure of Spoken Expressions of 2nd-grade Elementary School Students in Communication in Teaching]”. The paper by Radim Ošmera “Metodologie foneticko-fonologického výzkumu a jeho využití v praxi: Výslovnost hlásky „j“ vietnamskými mluvčími [The Methodology of Phonetic-Phonological Research and Its Use in Practice: The Pronunciation of the sound `j' by Vietnamese speakers]”, as well as the paper by Lucie Křižková “Pracovní listy k moravským reáliím [Worksheets on Moravian Realities]” are concerned with the problem of teaching students with different mother tongues. Miroslav Jindra's paper “Cestou za zrcadlem: k výzkumu dětského čtenářství žáků třetí třídy základní školy [Through the Looking Glass: Research into the Reading of Third-Grade Primary School Pupils]” is focused on children's reading. The paper by Ondřej Zabloudil Pechník “Tematika přírodních národů v české literatuře devadesátých let dvacátého století [The Themes of Indigenous Peoples in Czech Literature in the 1990s]” concludes the proceedings.
