    Description: In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde der Einfluss der Zylindergeometrie (zylindrisch; rippenförmig) auf die Mischcharakteristik eines kontinuierlich durchströmten Taylor-Vortex Reaktors untersucht. Hierfür wurde die Makro- und Mikromischung mittels Spurstoffversuchen, Messung des Rührenergieeintrages und einer chemischen Testreaktion bestimmt.

    Description: Although laser cutting of metals is a well-established process, there is considerable potential for improvement with regard to various requirements for the manufacturing industry. First, this potential is identified and then it is shown how improvements could be made using machine learning. For this purpose, a database was generated. It contains the process parameters, RGB images, 3D point clouds and various quality features of almost 4000 cut edges.

    Description: Der Taylor-Couette Reaktor zeichnet sich aus durch gleichmäßige Mischintensitäten und schonende Mischbedingungen. Die Vermischung in der Taylor-Couette Strömung wurde experimentell untersucht. Die Größenskalen der Vermischung wurden hinsichtlich der Reaktorgeometrie spezifiziert. Basierend auf experimentellen Ergebnissen wurde die Vermischung in der Taylor-Couette Strömung modelliert sowie die Zusammenhänge zwischen Prozessparametern und Mischungszuständen geklärt.

    Description: In dieser Arbeit wurden Schwämme aus Al2O3, Mullit und oxidisch gebundenem SiC hinsichtlich ihrer Impuls- und Wärmetransporteigenschaften experimentell untersucht. Zur Auslegung chemischer Apparate nach dem heterogenen oder dem homogenen Modell wurden für folgende wärmetechnisch interessanten Parameter allgemeingültige, dimensionslose Korrelationen abgeleitet: Druckverlust, Wärmeübergangskoeffizient zwischen Fluid und Feststoffgerüst, Ruhe- sowie axiale und radiale Zweiphasen-Wärmeleitfähigkeit.

    Description: Especially pedestrians rely on the interaction with other road users. The introduction of automated driving systems withdraws this communication from drivers and thus, vehicles need to interact with pedestrians. Therefore, multiple vehicle-pedestrian-communication concepts are evaluated. A driver intention prediction allows pedestrians to learn these newly introduced signals, while driver and vehicle communicate simultaneously.

    Description: The aim of the present work is the mathematical modeling of solid bowl centrifuges for the dynamic simulation of separation processes in real time. The developed compartment model couples the residence time behavior with the material properties and thus allows a time and space-resolved simulation for solid bowl centrifuges. The profound insights into the separation process open up not only a better design, but also new fields of application such as the dynamic flowchart simulation.

    Description: In the production of modern components, e.g. displays, complex substrates with e.g. conducting paths and pre-structuring are liquid coated and dried. The surfaces of such layers have to have a very well specified quality, usual. Thus it is necessary to avoid the formation of surface structures. This work presents the elementary mechanism and describes a technique for visualization to investigate surface deformations due to Marangoni-Convection during thin film drying.

    Description: In the present work kinetic experiments addressing the oxidation of isobutene and isobutene to methacrolein over a new Mo-based mixed oxide catalyst are presented. The experiments focus on the one hand on the synthesis of the mixed oxide catalyst as well as the characterization of the crystal structure and on the other hand on the identification of suitable reaction conditions for the oxidation of the hydrocarbons.

    Description: Die Feststofferzeugung mit Hilfe von Fällungsprozessen kommt in der chemischen Industrie schon seit Jahrhunderten zum Einsatz. Die grundlegenden Vorgänge während einer Fällung sind aber bis heute noch wenig verstanden. Zur gezielten Einstellung diverser Produktparameter ist für den Anwender die Kenntnis der ablaufenden physikalisch-chemischen Vorgänge bei der Partikelbildung unabdingbar. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, Hinweise zu geben, wie Partikelbildungsprozesse beeinflusst werden können.

    Description: The proposed method for the configuration of renewably powered energy supply systems as isolated grids backed by energy storage technology and based on statistical models shows the economic viability of such a system. The energy supply system was configured by implementing cost models using an optimization software. Validation was achieved through comparison with measurements taken from two different existing energy supply areas.
