    Description: Based on extensive data, including 800 hours of interview material, online questionnaires and group discussions, the second volume of results from the research transfer project "Child and Youth Work in Corona Times" at HAW Hamburg presents fascinating insights into the perspectives of young people between the ages of 13 and 25 on open child and youth work. The authors thus make a valuable contribution to the analysis of the significance of these institutions during the Corona era.

Basierend auf Gruppendiskussionen mit 87 Jugendlichen präsentiert der zweite Ergebnisband des Forschungstransferprojektes „Kinder- und Jugendarbeit in Corona-Zeiten“ der HAW Hamburg faszinierende Einblicke in die Perspektiven junger Menschen zwischen 13 und 25 Jahren auf Einrichtungen der Offenen Kinder- und Jugendarbeit – ein wertvoller Beitrag zur Analyse der Bedeutung dieser Orte für junge Menschen in Krisenzeiten.

    Description: Within the framework of the publication series "Wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen zur Arbeit der Stiftung 'Haus der kleinen Forscher'", scientific contributions from renowned experts in the field of early education are regularly published. This series of publications serves a professional dialogue between the Foundation, science and practice, with the aim of providing all day-care centres, after-schools and primary schools in Germany with well-founded support for their early childhood educational mission. This eighth volume of the series, with a foreword by Kristina Reiss, focuses on the goals and conditions for successful mathematical education in elementary and primary schools. Christiane Benz, Meike Grüßing, Jens Holger Lorenz, Christoph Selter and Bernd Wollring specify in their expertise the pedagogical and content-related target dimensions of mathematical education in nursery and primary school age. In addition to a theoretical foundation of various target areas, instruments for their measurement are listed. Furthermore, the authors discuss conditions for effective and effective early mathematical education in practice. They also give recommendations for the further development of the Foundation's services and the scientific support of the Foundation's work in the field of mathematics. The final chapter of the volume describes the implementation of these professional recommendations in the content of the "Haus der kleinen Forscher" foundation.

    Description: How can organizational development lead to improved daycare quality? The volume presents two out of four expertise developed in the "Forum KITA Development" project that deal with this question.     Description: The demand for more men as pre-school teachers in day-care centres is becoming clearer and clearer For this reason, the Austrian research project "Elementar" has comprehensively investigated the situation of male pre-school teachers and carers in the elementary field in a unique study. The diverse results emphasise the opportunities associated with the participation of men, but also call for a critical and differentiated examination of gender issues in the elementary field. Pupils, trainees and teachers working in practice were interviewed using quantitative and qualitative methods. Male trainees and skilled workers were surveyed in a full survey. The results were evaluated using statistical methods and qualitative content analyses. For the first time, biographical backgrounds and identities of male pre-school teachers were also examined psychoanalytically. On the basis of their results, the authors formulate concrete calls for action for research, practice and politics.

Das Buch befasst sich sowohl mit den Herausforderungen der Digitalisierung und erschwerter Partizipation als auch dem Dilemma der Fachkräfte, die zwischen ihrer Rolle als Regelhüter*innen und Anwält*innen der Interessen der Kinder und Jugendlichen navigieren. Präsentiert werden die Ergebnisse von vier empirischen Erhebungen vom ersten Lockdown bis zum Frühjahr 2021, die exemplarisch an Fachkräfte und Expert*innen-Befragungen aufzeigen, wie es um das Arbeitsfeld derzeit steht. Die Autor*innen beleuchten aktuelle Herausforderungen und Perspektiven und formulieren auf Grundlage der Studien Handlungsempfehlungen für Politik und Praxis.
