Centered on the work of two US-American translators, Alice Stone Blackwell and Isaac Goldberg, it is the first study to offer a modern history of the amateur translator as subject of resistance and cultural mediator between the two regions.

    Beschreibung: El cumplir un aniversario que supere el centenario siempre tiene un sentido particular que lo convierte en una efeméride memorable. Pero cuando se cumplen 500 años, esto es el medio milenio, el aniversario ya entra en un territorio aparte, casi de la leyenda. Conmemorarlo es algo especial. En la historia de la literatura el poder recordarlo está restringido a pocas obras, aquellas que se consideran clásicas y monumentos culturales. En el caso de Amadís de Gaula hay un detalle más que hace notable la permanencia en el tiempo, pues también hay que tomar en cuenta que esta obra fue el paradigma de libros tildados de ociosos cuando no de locos o dañinos.

    Beschreibung: En Resistir al neoliberalismo. Comunidades y autonomías Pilar Calveiro no se centra en las características del neoliberalismo sino, como su nombre lo indica, en la posibilidad y la potencia de las resistencias comunitarias. Para ello retoma la discusión sobre los rasgos violentos y autoritarios del neoliberalis mo, desarrollados en textos anteriores, enfatizando ahora en la conformación de redes de poder que rebasan al aparato estatal. Ello obliga a desplazar el foco de análisis, del Estado y sus responsabilidades directas o indirectas, a la gubernamentalidad neoliberal, como una trama más densa y compleja. Se trata de observar la articulación de las redes de poder legal/ilegales y público/privadas que, en el neoliberalismo, ejecutan diversas violencias orientadas a desarrollar verdaderas políticas del miedo.

    Beschreibung: This book is an analysis of the literary censorship that Acción Cató?lica (AC) implemented in Spain, through the Secretariat of Bibliographic Orientation (SOB) during the 1940s. The text delves into this system of trial and cultural control to demonstrate that AC imposed its own ideology on its members, redefining literature until turning it into another tool of its social indoctrination. As a consequence, it is demonstrated that AC questioned? the discursive authoritarianism of the Franco regime and, based on the work of literary criticism and the analyzed censor reports, a new perspective is provided from which to reconsider the relationship between Catholicism and the dictatorship. The study of the disagreements and ideological conflicts that arose within the regime reveals the existence of differentiated discourses in both institutions, thus breaking the illusion of homogeneity and apparent harmony. The work is presented as a novel approach to the strategies of cultural repression adopted by the dictatorship and the Church in the postwar period that opens an alternative door for the analysis of the mechanisms of intellectual and social control in that period and, in addition, it connects the existing bibliography about the changing and complex nature of Francoism with cultural studies.

Su organicidad consiste en centrarse en las fuentes, los topoi y los intertextos. Las fuentes son un tema/cuestión que tiene una fuerte y debatida presencia en la crítica literaria: en ciertas épocas han sido consideradas una herramienta interpretativa válida, y en otras han sido degradadas, consideradas una cuestión de erudición y no de interpretación. Siempre han permanecido vivos en la investigación filológica y han encontrado nueva relevancia en la teoría de los topoi y la intertextualidad. La introducción reconstruye esta historia, que la colección ilustra a continuación con estudios variados y diversos, tanto en sentido teórico como diacrónico. Todos los ensayos abordan temas de la literatura española e hispanoamericana, sondeados en los siglos que van desde sus orígenes hasta el siglo XX.

    Beschreibung: A lo largo de los años se ha evidenciado que las migraciones son fenómenos estructurales de nuestras sociedades y no esporádicos. Sin embargo, en las últimas décadas, tanto desde los gobiernos, los organismos internacionales como desde la academia, se han aso ciado las migraciones al concepto de crisis. ¿Por qué se sigue vinculando la movilidad humana a la idea de un evento extraordinario de la modernidad? ¿La migración es una consecuencia de la crisis o una causa? ¿Cómo construyen los distintos gobiernos y organismos internacionales el concepto de crisis migratoria? Buscando responder a estos y otros interrogantes, los capítulos en este volumen ofrecen una mirada crítica al vínculo entre migración y crisis desde diferentes ángulos teóricos y geográfi cos e invitan a repensar los límites del propio concepto de crisis migratoria a través de doce estudios de caso organizados en torno a las categorías analíticas políticas, medioambiente e identidad.
