    Beschreibung: This chapter focuses on Obrazy Italii, the best known work by Pavel Muratov, a Russian writer, journalist, critic and art historian. This work is a diary recounting the journey to Italy of the author at the beginning of the twentieth century; nowadays it is considered a classic text that provides a testimony on the way Italian art was perceived in Russia. Though it is well-known in Russia, this work has only recently received some attention in Italy following its recent translation. This chapter contains detailed and original analyses that compare Muratov’s translations with those found in Russian dictionaries written in the same period. These concern a selection of lemmas in art and architecture and the names of artists. This chapter shows that the language employed in this work cannot be defined as either specialised or standard, but as a mixture between the two.

    Beschreibung: During the 17th century antiquities of Campania received international attention thanks to the cultural politics of the Bourbon monarchy. The archaeological discoveries were considered part of the political and military success of the King of Naples. After the reunification of Italy, Naples lost its central role as heart of the antiquities collecting and trade as consequence of the marginalization of Naples as economic and political capital of a Kingdom. This process influenced the sectors archaeology, collecting and antiquity market that traditionally reflected the self-representation of the cultural and political élite. This book focuses on the social history of Neapolitan archaeology, that between the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century was strictly connected with the antiquarian market. The research analyses cultural, socio-political and institutional transformations that determinated the promulgation of a specific legislation that limited the exportation of antiquities with the aim to protect the national interest on Cultural Heritage.

    Beschreibung: Spesso poco note, talvolta ancora inedite, le testimonianze di pittura rupestre medievale del Lazio e della Campania settentrionale sono numerose, come dimostrano le quarantadue schede del catalogo, corrispondenti ai monumenti presi in esame. L’ampio raggio di indagine ha permesso di enucleare due differenti tipologie di ambienti: la cavità artificiale, in corrispondenza del substrato tufaceo, utilizzata il più delle volte per esigenze funzionali, e la grotta naturale, fin dalla preistoria associata all’universo del sacro. Particolare attenzione è stata rivolta ai fenomeni religiosi che hanno concorso allo sviluppo dei santuari, quali la devozione all’arcangelo Michele, l’eremitismo e la venerazione delle reliquie. Queste ultime sono la causa della sopravvivenza dei santuari ubicati all’interno delle catacombe, luoghi di culto che molto hanno in comune con l’universo rupestre. Quanto alle tematiche di ambito artistico, il ricco corpus di dipinti ha consentito di soffermarsi sul dialogo fra roccia e immagine, sui diversi contesti della produzione pittorica campano-laziale fra VI e XIII secolo, sui problemi conservativi.

    Beschreibung: La circolazione di uomini, tecnologie, cultura e idee lungo le rotte mediterranee in età moderna è argomento oggetto di numerosi studi. In ambito storico-artistico il dibattito, di portata europea, si è concentrato sulle rotte tra i maggiori centri del Mediterraneo occidentale, i grandi empori commerciali e le grandi capitali da cui i linguaggi artistici si sono diffusi per essere accolti e reinterpretati con tempi e modi differenti a seconda del contesto politico, sociale e culturale di ricezione. In questo libro si offre una panoramica su una delle rotte considerate «minori», quella tra la Sardegna e la Catalogna negli anni della prima età moderna (fine del XV-inizi del XVI secolo). La posizione intermedia tra la penisola italiana e quella iberica ha fatto sì che i porti sardi si configurassero come punti di raccordo dei traffici tra le opposte sponde del Mediterraneo, con una importante circolazione di merci e di maestranze: la varietà e la commistione di esperienze culturali diverse ha contribuito alla formazione di un panorama artistico ricco di contaminazioni, che ha la sua più rilevante manifestazione nei retabli, le grandi pale d’altare composte da più tavole dipinte inserite in una struttura architettonica in legno dorato e decorato. Attraverso l’indagine archivistica condotta sui versanti sardo e catalano, la messa a sistema delle notizie rinvenute e l’attenzione alla coerenza formale dei polittici, si è proceduto all’analisi di alcuni casi studio per cercare di comprendere quali fossero le istanze sottese alla produzione delle opere.

    Beschreibung: In der vorliegender Arbeit wird der Versuch unternommen, das Wesen der bulgarischen Nacherzählformen systematisch und übersichtlich zu erörtern und damit zu ihrem Verständnis im deutschsprachigen Raum beizutragen. Im Rahmen der Arbeit werden folgende mit ihnen verbundene zentrale Fragen behandelt: der Fromenbestand der Kategorie der Nacherzählformen, ihr semantischer Inhalt, der Gebrauch dieser Formen in der Alltagssprache und in literarischen Werken, die Stellung der Nacherzählformen im bulgarischen Verbalsystem sowie die Frage der Entstehung dieser Formen in der bulgarischen Sprache. Alle bulgarischen Originalbeispiele sind ins Deutsche übersetzt und - wo nötig - zusätzlich kommentiert.

    Beschreibung: The Vocabulario de Términos de Arte (Vocabulary of Art Terms) is the most important lexicographic work about art history published in Spain in the 19th century. Following his intention to spread knowledge about the lexis of art, José Ramón Mélida published this work after translating and adapting for the Spanish audience Jules Adeline’s Lexique des terms d’art (Lexicon of art terms). This chapter employs descriptive-contrastive methodologies to analyse Mélida’s translation strategies, his interventions on the source text as well as neologisms.
