    Description: The aim of the methodology is to give an understanding of elder abuse, typologies, manifestations, risks of occurrence and procedures for detection and solution. The methodology helps those who regularly come into contact with older people to put knowledge about elder abuse into practice. This can be anyone who is not, or should not be, indifferent to seeing an older person treated inappropriately. The methodology is primarily intended for people working in support services, with recommendations for other relevant actors such as general practitioners and specialists, the police, the social services of local authorities, etc. However, it can also be used by interested members of the public and by non-profit organisations, which also have an essential role to play in dealing with this phenomenon. The procedures and recommendations presented here are based on the research activities of the RESTABUS project, which draw on the findings of other research teams from all over the world and from a wide range of scientific disciplines, as well as on many years of experience in working with older people.

    Description: Title in English: Motivation Support in Teaching German as a Foreign Language (and Beyond) With regard to the proven significant impact of motivation on learning processes and their success, promoting learner’s motivation can be described as an important part of pedagogical activity. The current book presents research investigations into learners’ motivation in learning German as a foreign language. A qualitative research design conducted as a multi-case study was chosen in order to gain a deeper insight into the issue of motivation. The results obtained showed the wide scope of teachers’ motivating influence on their learners. Many of the existing findings on motivation could be verified. Moreover, the specifics of motivation towards German as a second foreign language as well as the culturally conditioned specifics concerning Czech learners’ attitudes towards the German language have been highlighted.

    Description: Title in English: The future of metropolitan cooperation in the czech republic: development, governance, management Metropolitan regions are engines of economic growth, where research, innovation, technology and creative human potential are concentrated. The cooperation of municipalities in metropolitan regions in economically developed Europe dates back to the mid-1990s, while in the Czech Republic this new form of cooperation has been discussed more intensively since 2014, when three metropolitan areas and ten urban agglomerations were defined. However, there is still no systemic coordination of the problems and needs of metropolitan areas. The first activities aimed at real strengthening of metropolitan cooperation and development took place in the Brno Metropolitan Area within the framework of the TAČR ÉTA project “Institutionalization of metropolitan cooperation as a factor to increase the motivation of municipalities to cooperate in metropolitan areas”. The aim of the publication is to present the results of the project, experiences from abroad and their possible application in the Czech environment, as well as real steps to set up metropolitan inter-municipal cooperation.

    Výsledky výběrového šetření RESTABUS Inovativní cesty definice, měření prevalence a řešení seniorského abusu v ČR (2024)

    Description: The aim of the research report is to present the results of the representative survey carried out in the RESTABUS project. This survey is the first of its kind and scope in the Czech Republic in its focus on mapping the prevalence of elder abuse, exploitation, neglect, other violence and undermining of dignity of older people (EAN). The survey was carried out among 2687 respondents aged 65 to 99 years living at home (outside residential care) and is representative of the older population in the Czech Republic. The topic of EAN is complemented by issues of the perceived prevalence of EAN in the public space, capturing attitudes towards restorative justice, and early trauma incidents (experience of violence in childhood and middle age). Thus, the research not only describes the level of prevalence of violence and ill-treatment of older people in the Czech Republic, but also maps the impact of experienced incidents on the quality of life of persons at risk, ascertains the attitudes of the older people towards the functionality of available forms of help and support, and suggests the direction of their possible further development. The report includes a methodological section, a results section and a tabular annex.

    Description: Title in English: How do I cope?: Influence of school and family stressors on students aged 14–19 The publication deals with the influence of risk factors of the school and family environment on the ability of adolescent aged 14–19 to cope with stressful situations. After theoretical introductory part the main part of the publication presents the conclusions of a quantitative research survey monitoring the influence of selected stress factors (i.e. factors of the school and family environment) on the occurrence of psychosomatic difficulties, the character of coping strategies and the psychohygienic habits of the monitored group of adolescent pupils. These parameters are compared between groups with regard to their age, place of residence, type of school and the presence of specific learning disabilities. Presented outcomes can serve both pedagogical and counselling staff in school practice, as well as parents and the wider public.

    Description: Title in English: Research in foreign language didactics V This publication presents an empirical research of pronunciation mistakes of Czech students learning German as a second foreign language at elementary school. The aim of the research was to verify the extent of the students’ pronunciation difficulties with German pronunciation phenomena error-prone for Czech native speakers. The research determined in what way these errors manifest themselves in the transfer from the students’ previously acquired languages, i.e. their mother tongue (Czech) and the first foreign language learnt (English). Within the theoretical foundation, the focus is put on different concepts of pronunciation in terms of foreign language teaching objectives, definitions of language errors and their causes, the development of the German pronunciation standard and methodological approaches to error analysis.

    Description: Besides identifying plants used by men, charcoal analysis may also reconstruct the history of forests, based on the study of charcoal from domestic uses. The reliability of this discipline depends on the definition of rigourous methods, from the archaeological dig to the palaeoenvironmental interpretation, which is the subject of the tint part of this work.In part two, thirteen languedocian sites dating from the end of Prehistory to Antiquity are studied following this method. In the Languedoc region, the early balance between the mediterranean oak forest and human activities leads us to review the history of deforestation. It is only in the lion Age that permanent tree clearance on plains increases, maintained during the roman period, announcing perhaps the first permanent fields. The results of this study, combined with documentary sources, constitute a first synthesis on territory changes.

    Description: Organized through the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the symposium “Lascaux and Preservation Issues in Subterranean Environments” was held in Paris on February 26 and 27, 2009 under the chairmanship of Jean Clottes. It brought together nearly three hundred participants from seventeen countries with the goal of confronting research and interventions conducted in Lascaux Cave since 2001 with the experiences gained in other countries in the domain of preservation in subterranean environments. Twelve presentations addressed questions related to disciplines such as hydrogeology, climatology and microbiology in relation to the protection and valorization of decorated caves. The talks were followed by debates allowing the experts and all other participants to freely express themselves. This volume, which constitutes the proceedings of this symposium, is composed of the studies presented during the sessions and full transcriptions of the debates. It provides both a synthesis of the conservation activities realized at Lascaux between 2001 and 2009 and the state of research and the conditions of the cave as of 2009.

    Description: Title in English: Prediction of potential locations for water-retention dams in landscape based on re-utilisation of defunct relics of water-management buildings: Certified methodology This certified methodology shows the steps to be taken by contractors and builders of small water reservoirs with a special focus on preserving and archiving cultural value of historic landscape and its evolution. The methodology describes how to find and use defunct relics of historical waterdams in modern constructions (water retention dams), from identification in the landscape, through incorporation into the project documentation of the dam construction, to basic protection during the building process itself. State legislature on historic landscape is also mentioned. Re-utilisation of historic waterdams allows for their conservation for future generations and points at features of the historic dams at risk of destruction, and which need archaeological attention during the construction works (especially the historical drainage outlet). This methodology is praxis driven, as it is actively using knowledge gained through close co-operation with contractors and builders, and reflects their needs during construction.

    Description: Title in English: Graphomotor skills: New approaches to the diagnosis This book focuses on graphomotor skills, their disorders and brings new possibilities to their diagnosis. The introduction discusses various theories of writing and the development of graphomotor skills and writing. It also defines graphomotor disorders and developmental dysgraphia and offers an overview of diagnostic methods for assessing handwriting disabilities. In the final chapter, the authors present an original approach to diagnosing graphomotor disabilities based on an objective analysis of online handwriting. The resulting “Graphomotor and Handwriting Disabilities Rating Scale” (GHDRS) allows for a detailed assessment of the sources of a child’s difficulties. The book is intended primarily for workers in the school guidance system, especially special educators and psychologists, but also for others interested in graphomotor skills.

    Description: Title in English: The concept of developing geoinformatics skills in teaching at primary and secondary schools This conceptual monograph responds to insufficient support for developing geoinformation skills in Czech lower and upper secondary schools. It aims to create an interconnected system for developing geoinformation skills in teaching in lower and upper secondary schools, emphasizing the implementation of GIS tools and proposing principles for the development of geoinformation skills in teaching. For this purpose, a matrix of learning tasks is created, arranged according to individual geoinformation skills – reading, selection, use, creation, and sharing. This text focuses on teaching pupils with physical disabilities in an inclusive classroom. The text is divided into three chapters, the first one defines theoretical background.     Description: This work presents the findings of research conducted from 1988 to 1993 near the étang de Berre. On the basis of systematic surveying, soundings and the excavation of a Gallo - Roman establishment,F Trément situates the major sites of Saint-Blaise and the Fossæ Marianæ in a globally and dynamically perceived space. Using earth and life sciences (geomorphology, sedimentology, palynology…). and with recourse to texts and iconography, the archaeologist broadens his focus, to encompass the landscape in its entirety. This microregion is characterised by numerous closed depressions, which explain the high population density during the Neolithic, the Iron Age and in Antiquity, and constitute sedimentary records of the evolution of the surroundings. The author seeks to understand how the successive waterside communities adapted to this shifting and harsh environment, how they appropriated the space and set about exploiting it, more or less consciously, leaving their mark, more or less enduring.

    Description: The results of the excavation, undertaken in Nîmes from 1966 to 1992, of the sites of the Marseillaise, the Villégiales des Bénédictins, the Hesperides and the Fontaine des Bénédictins, make it possible to follow the evolution of the Bénédictins district from the neolithic to the present day. Near a pre-roman oppidum, on the slopes of mount Cavalier, this area was occupied from the end of the sixth century BC, later finding itself at the heart of the old town after construction of the atywall during Augustus reign. No longer an urban area from the second century AD onwards, it remained rural until the eighteenth century.Organised according to a framework which respected the relief, with both water supply system and drainage, this district contained a group of houses whose plans, construction details, decoration and domestic finds are studied both individually and from a socio-economic point of view.

    Description: Three Upper Palaeolithic sites have been discovered during the construction of the A5 motorway between Melun and Troyes.Marolles-sur-Seine, in the Seine-et-Mame area, is related to the other Magdaleman sites discovered in the Paris basin. The excellent preservation of the finds (silex, animal bones, heated stones) has made possible a palaeoethnological study of this horse hunting site, a type of research rarely possible in a rescue excavation Technological analysis of the lithic from Lailly (Aungnacian), in the Yonne area, and Fontvannes (Perigordian ?), in the Aube area, has revealed the production techniques for three kinds of artefacts blades, flakes and bladelets. These two sites increase the importance of the Vanne valley in the understanding of occupation of the south east of the Paris basin.Following the publication about the Middle Palaeolithic sites of the Sens area (dAf number 47), this volume renews the study of early Prehistory in this region

    Description: The history of Montbeliard began in the late 9th century with the construction of a castle on a rocky spur overlooking the Allan and the Lizaine rivers. The city developed as a result of contact with both Burgundian and Germanic culture and by the end of the 14th century had become a commercial and religious centre. The second defensive wall, built in the 15th century is a reflection of the city’s prosperity, encircling as it does the original castle, through as well as the two districts of La Halle and Saint-Martin. Excavation work undertaken in 1993-1994 prior to the construction of a shopping centre in the Velotte quarter of the Saint-Martin district has enabled archeologists to define seven build periods of architectural development covering both buildings and the urban defense system. This work has also shed light on various aspects of daily and social life as experienced by the inhabitants of this area within the city walls the bucolic character of which remained intact up to the final quarter of the 19th century.

We also see a huge didactic potential in 3D technology, which is currently not being used.     Description: Title in English: Test versions equivalence of the Slovak upper-secondary school leaving examination The research presented in this book strives to answer how test versions equivalence – a necessary condition for meaningful and fair interpretation and comparison of students’ results – could be achieved in the context of high-stakes examination. The research was carried on the Slovak upper-secondary school leaving examination in English at B1 level, namely on the tests of receptive skills operationalized between 2012 and 2015. Theoretical research on the methods and procedures and the application of some of them on the Slovak examinations in the empirical part provided deep insight into the degree of comparability of the test versions used between 2012 and 2015 and made it possible to identify problem areas in terms of test versions comparability. The research helped to identify suitable methods and approaches that might enable to develop equivalent test versions and subsequently, to interpret meaningfully the test results and the measured construct, i.e. students’ language proficiency.

    Description: Archaeological research carried out in Lyon since 1971 at three major sites, the cathedral complex and the churches and graveyards of Saint-Just and Saint-Laurent-de-Choulans, has changed our understanding of the topography of the town during the early Christian period. Lyon, federal capital of the Cauls and later capital of the Burgundian kings. was from the IVth to VIIIth centuries an ecclesiastical centre of prime importance. The remains oftwo churches and of a baptistery forming an épiscopal group (one of the first to be completely excavated). the basilicas built on the tombs of saints and the graveyards, are evidence of the creation of a new Christian architecture, respecting antique traditions, and of the Christianisation of funerary practices. Thorough analysis of the archaeological evidence, confronted with archivai sources and documents, confirms the vitality and prestige of Lugdunum christianum.

The development of learning materials seems to be a fact of life for many ESP teachers. Even though there are many empirically grounded studies for the development of English language learning materials, only a few studies deal with ESP materials development that would provide potential authors with instructions on how to proceed with their design. Design-Based Research of an ESP Coursebook offers a solution to this problem since it describes the systematic implementation, evaluation, and development of an ESP coursebook with the aim of producing design principles and empirically grounded theories. It is believed that the design principles presented in this book should provide a basis for adaptation to other situations, that is, they can help teachers to develop ESP coursebooks tailored for their own courses.

Le défi est d’ampleur tant les océans cristallisent aujourd’hui des intérêts toujours plus nombreux, variés et complexes, au carrefour d’enjeux de conservation de la biodiversité, de régulation du changement climatique, de développement économique et de sécurité alimentaire. S’inscrivant dans le champ des sciences de la durabilité, cet ouvrage vise à explorer de manière interdisciplinaire les opportunités et les limites de la planification spatiale marine, actuellement développée dans des pays du Nord, dans de possibles déclinaisons tropicales, plus particulièrement au Brésil, au Sénégal et au Cabo Verde. Face à un océan commun, les communautés d’acteurs doivent transcender les regards disciplinaires (partie 1 de cet ouvrage) et faire converger intelligences et connaissances pour avancer vers un but commun de durabilité. Le développement de cette intelligence collective dans les recherches sur les écosystèmes marins tropicaux se positionne dans le cadre d’enjeux locaux, étatiques et internationaux (partie 2) et s’appuie sur le développement d’outils interdisciplinaires et innovants (partie 3). À l’usage des décideurs, des chercheurs, et plus généralement de tout usager des espaces marins, cet ouvrage met en lumière les points de vigilance à considérer lors de la mise en place d’une démarche de planification spatiale marine.

    Description: Négligé par la critique postcoloniale, le théâtre, dans ses formes variées, et notamment populaires, a pourtant largement accompagné la colonisation française de l’Afrique du Nord et la formation d’un esprit colonial, depuis le débarquement des troupes françaises en Algérie en 1830 jusqu’au grand rendez-vous impérialiste que fut l’Exposition coloniale de 1931. S’appuyant sur des préjugés existants, les renforçant, en forgeant parfois de nouveaux pour les besoins du spectacle, les pièces écrites à l’époque coloniale ont donné de multiples représentations de la figure de « l’Arabe » : bestial, fourbe, idiot ou « exotique », dans tous les cas inférieur au « Blanc », cet « autre » apparaît toujours comme un être dominé. À partir de l’analyse historique, sociologique et esthétique d’un répertoire méconnu de près de deux cents pièces, mais aussi de leur mise en scène et de leur réception par la critique et des publics divers, Amélie Gregório interroge la transformation des représentations en discours, sans perdre de vue les enjeux proprement artistiques et sans prétendre a priori que toute pièce représentant des « Arabes » est obligatoirement, et de façon univoque, idéologique.

    Description: From 1995 to 1997, four early medieval sites were excavated in the Fougères region as part of archaeological research work carried out prior to the construction of the A84 motarway. As the sites all date from the same period, a comprehensive research plan was implemented from the outset, with special emphasis on paleo-environmental analysis and examination of pottery finds. Examination of the three Carolingian settlement sites, as well as a ford from the same period, reveals an organised, interactive approach to environmental management of the surrounding lands (land division, ditch Systems. tracks, development of a peatcovered valley floor), which were developed and systematically exploited from the 7th to 10th century. The present volume provides a significant contribution to our understanding of early medieval rural settlements in Brittany, an area of study which has hitherto received little attention from archaeologists The research is enhanced by an analysis of bio-archaeological data from the sites, showing the impact of agro-pastoral activities on the landscape and vegetation in nearby areas.

    Description: In this work based on her doctoral thesis, Carole Fritz presents the remarkable contribution that observation with a scanning electron microscope brings to the study of engraving in Magdalenian portable art. This original and rigorous scientific approach opens up particularly promising paths of research. A corpus of sixty objects made of bone and antler, found at eight middle and upper Magdalenian sites m the area bounded by the Pyrénées, the Gironde estuary and the Dordogne river, is methodically analysed.On the basis of this analysis, backed by a previously unpublished and quite exceptional iconography, the author proposes fresh thinking on the artistic gestures of the Magdalenian period, on the operational processes corresponding to mental patterns and collective practices, on the modalities of acquisition and transmission of know-how and skills, and ultimately, on the existence of a thought-out artistic phenomenon in the societies of this epoch.

    Description: Vestiges of Gallo-Roman workshops that were in activity between the 1st and 3rd centuries AD in the city of Augustodunum were found in the course of work carried out at the Lycée militaire in Autun. The workshop buildings are described in detail and situated in their urban setting. The different crafts activities are studied closely: metalworking with copper and iron alloys, ceramics, crafts of bone. This work has enhanced our knowledge of the chain of production in metallurgical crafts in particular. Fresh data on the manufacture of common objects such as brass fibulae and bells of bronze coated iron sheet is obtained from the analysis of mould fragments, of furnace remains and of forge slag and waste. Crafts emerge as a major feature of the economy in the city of the Aedui, according to processes already identified at Bibracte. The rich documentation of this work constitutes a significant contribution to research on crafts in ancient times.

Ces personnes formées et diplômées sont pourtant au chômage et poursuivent un seul but : obtenir un emploi dans la fonction publique. Qu’est-ce qui incite ces hommes et ces femmes à braver sans cesse les autorités en occupant l’espace public ? Comment les différents groupes qui mènent ce combat se sont-ils construits et renforcés ? Et surtout, trente ans après, pourquoi ces groupes, dont le rêve serait de « mourir de succès », continuent-ils de manifester ? Pour répondre à ces interrogations, Montserrat Emperador Badimon étudie l’émergence de ces multiples groupes, les caractéristiques de leurs adhérents, leur organisation et leurs tactiques protestataires. Elle analyse également les relations complexes qu’ils entretiennent entre eux et avec le pouvoir, le potentiel disciplinateur de la « récompense-emploi » n’étant pas négligeable. Plus largement, cette synthèse originale donne à penser les mouvements sociaux en contexte coercitif.

    Description: Au cours du xviiie siècle, l’émergence d’une nouvelle forme de héros marque une étape cruciale dans l’histoire de la tragédie et du drame, entre la représentation de l’homme de guerre féodal au début du Grand Siècle et celle du bandit révolté dans le théâtre romantique du xixe siècle. Le héros plébéien des Lumières s’éveille dans les textes et sur la scène tout en se distinguant nettement du « grand homme », l’autre grande figure du théâtre des philosophes. Il s’illustre, non pas par sa naissance et sa fortune, mais uniquement par son mérite personnel et une puissance de contestation ardente et brusque jusqu’à la fureur. Par ses diverses incarnations sur la scène, il donne ainsi une première forme visible au désir d’émancipation sociale sans idéalisme et témoigne du passage déterminant en littérature d’un ordre symbolique hiérarchique à un ordre symbolique égalitaire. Cet ouvrage identifie les formes originelles du héros et de l’héroïne populaires au début du xviiie siècle, à travers une galerie de personnages qui appartiennent au tiers état (esclave, soldat de fortune, mercenaire, précepteur, officier, avocat, courtisane), avant de saisir leurs multiples mutations dans la seconde moitié du siècle, depuis Spartacus de Bernard-Joseph Saurin (1760) jusqu’à Épicharis et Néron de Gabriel Legouvé (1794), en passant par les œuvres des plus grands auteurs du temps (Voltaire, Marie-Joseph Chénier).

The concept of 3A methodology follows the tradition of didactic analysis focused on the content of education as developed in the didactic approach of W. Klafki (1967). The idea here is that the teacher first reflects on the question “what will I teach / what will the pupils learn” and derives the choice of teaching practices, i.e. “how will I teach / how will the pupils go about learning”, from the answer to this question. The method of research on teaching presented here is intended to meet the needs of teachers first and foremost by addressing the questions that teachers actually have to address when they prepare lessons, when they work with pupils in them, and when they reflect on ways to improve them. The book will offer teachers the opportunity to engage with research findings and to put them into practice.

    Description: Au-delà de la contestation des régimes politiques, les révolutions du Maghreb et du Moyen-Orient se sont traduites depuis 2010 par un foisonnement de luttes : ouvrières et syndicales, féministes, antiracistes, pour les droits des minorités sexuelles et de genre... Elles ont favorisé la remise en question de multiples hiérarchies sociales. Rompant avec l’image dominante d’un acteur protestataire homme affrontant les autorités sur les places publiques, cet ouvrage démontre que le genre est une catégorie nécessaire pour expliquer le déclenchement, les dynamiques et les issues de ces conjonctures. Les cas des révolutions tunisienne, égyptienne, yéménite, syrienne, bahreïnie et soudanaise, ainsi que du hirak algérien et du soulèvement libanais, révèlent les recompositions des rapports entre les hommes et les femmes, ainsi que des masculinités et des féminités dans différents milieux sociaux. En dépit de la violence des restaurations autoritaires et des guerres, l’analyse au prisme du genre permet ainsi d’envisager les révolutions comme des processus aux effets durables.

    Description: Tout le monde connaît les pièces de Molière ou de Corneille ; ce sont ces « classiques » et d’autres œuvres moins célèbres des xvie, xviie et xviiie siècles que le mouvement artistique baroque se réapproprie en explorant les codes de jeu, les gestes et les modes de profération des interprètes de l’époque. Cet ouvrage a pour objectif de dresser un état des lieux de la mise en scène baroque aujourd’hui. Or l’entre­prise n’est pas neutre, car le baroque contemporain fait l’objet de débats fé­roces, aussi bien en ce qui concerne sa définition que sa réception. L’analyse se construit autour de plusieurs thèmes : l’importance des autres arts vivants se réclamant du courant baroque, notamment la musique et la danse, le rôle éducatif de ce mouvement théâtral et sa place au sein de l’institution. Elle se nourrit d’une comparaison avec le théâtre élisabéthain outre-Manche et de témoignages d’artistes contemporains, parmi lesquels Eugène Green. S’appuyant sur une réflexion collective où se font entendre plusieurs voix, venues de la scène ou des universités, des salles de classe ou des sociétés de production, ce livre élabore une cartographie précise des interrogations qui irriguent la mise en scène baroque aujourd’hui. Les champs du savoir et du spectacle vivant sont ainsi réunis, s’éclairant l’un l’autre et témoignant de la réussite de ce projet, car c’est de cette façon qu’est né et que continue de s’inventer le théâtre baroque.

    Description: Title in English: Not from the stars do I my judgment pluck…: Students’ analytical papers on intermediality The volume consists of two parts, one of which comprises analyses of filmic transmediations of Shakespeare’s sonnets (The Sonnetproject, New York Shakespeare Exchange 2013), the other analyses of literary ekphrases (by W. Szymborska, U. Fanthorpe, J. Stone etc.). It results from an Intermedial studies seminar held in 2021 within the program Literature and Intercultural Communication at Masaryk University, Brno. The contributions display various approaches that fall under two main intermedial methods, literature-centered (introduced by Werner Wolf), which focuses primarily on a semantic analysis of the original text, and literature-oriented (as suggested by Irina Rajewsky), which respects the transmediation as an autonomous representation and observes its relations to the pretext mainly retrospectively; and even a comparative one, which involves a translinguistic analysis of translations as intercultural and historical transfers.

    Description: Although not one of the largest theatres from the Gallo-Roman period, nor one of the most richly decorated, the theatre at Argentomagus is the only one in France to have been thoroughly excavated, restored and now published Its long history has been marked by frequent building alterations which have made it one of the finest examples of the Gallo-Roman theatre type, the original modest wooden-tiered structure, built in the mid first-century, was reconstructed in circa 180 A.D., only to he demolished at the end of the Roman period. In a particularly evocative manner, this edifice bears witness to the inventiveness of its architects, to the efforts of prominent citizens to Romanise their surroundings and to the local population’s taste for stage performances.

    Description: Title in English: Online marketing communication targeting school-age children The online environment contains many forms of marketing messages, many of which cannot be easily distinguished from regular content. Due to their lack of experience, children are more susceptible to marketing messages that influence their buying habits. The respondents in our research were children between the ages of 10 and 13, who are both consumers and customers and who play an important role in the purchasing decisions of their families. Investigating the types of online marketing communications children consume, their attitudes towards them and whether and how this influences their purchasing is therefore of paramount importance. We conclude with practical recommendations for schools and parents on how to educate children about online marketing.

The theoretical findings are verified empirically on a sample of companies included in its own database created in the research project. Economic data from the financial statements of companies in the Czech Republic, which merged in the past 10 years, are statistically evaluated and subjected to debate. The first part is devoted to the historical development of mergers and their importance in the global and national economy. The answers to these questions and many others are provided in the monograph, entitled “Career adaptability: Its Forms, Changes, Contexts, and Roles in the Lives of Young Adults Undergoing Upper-Secondary Vocational Education,” which is the first publication written on this topic in the Czech language. In the book, a team of authors presents the construct of career adaptability and the results of unique research carried out in the Czech Republic. In the first part, the reader may find an analytical overview of various concepts of career adaptability and related concepts. The central part of the publication is devoted to the results of quantitatively conducted longitudinal research, which aimed to identify career adaptability and its relationships to several demographic, school, relational, and personality variables in the case of students and later graduates of upper-secondary vocational education—those who are in the crucial stages of their career construction. Many empirical findings concentrated in this book are beneficial not only for the career counseling theories and research on career adaptability but also for vocational education or career counseling practitioners.

Manual for the MABC-2 motor skills test for children Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are neuro-developmental pervasive multifactorial diseases of unknown aetiology that are often associated with a significant impairment of motor skills and a delay in motor development. With the rapidly increasing prevalence of these disorders in the Czech Republic and worldwide, the possibilities of diagnosing the motor skills of children with ASD are an increasingly important priority. The research modified the standard administration and implementation process of the Movement Assessment Battery for Children, 2nd edition (MABC-2) by designing modifications that utilize fundamental principles of structured learning and the TEACCH program. In particular, these elements: Individualization, Structuralization, Visualization and Motivation, were implicated in the entire process of testing children's motor skills with the MABC-2 Test.

    Description: This study gives an account of the results of the archaeological excavations of the Gallo-Roman village at Roanne (Rodumna). The research is based mainly on 22 assemblages of material dating from the 1st century B.C. to the 3rd century A.D., including glassware, iron and bronze objects, and above all an exceptional corpus of pottery. Detailed analysis of the pottery and its relationship with the rest of the material enabled a chronology to be established. Using criteria such as frequency, use, variety of pottery production, datation, origins, etc., this chronology was found to be in continuity with previously studied Gaulish horizons. A series of illustrations places the material within the context of its discovery. The results of this study lead to an outline of the economic development of Rodumna - a small, rural town, built of clay and wood, very much in keeping with Gaulish tradition. This new volume in the dAf collection continues the study of the Gaulish occupations of Roanne begun in the recently published dAf 62. These two volumes, along with the publication on Feurs (dAf 14), constitute an exceptional documentation about the antique Segusiavi region.

Noël, S. Renaud, C. Singer and S. Germain. Their literary texts cover the whole of the 20th century and show diversity in approaches to space, but also a difference in the literature of 1st and 2nd halves of 20th century. Methodologically, it proceeds from the phenomenological view of G. Bachelard on the intimate space of the home, through the open and sacred space according to M. Eliade's study, towards the geocritical analysis of the space, based on the almost unused B. Westphal's theory of geocriticism. The study of space shows that literature can not be separated from the outside world, on the contrary, it contributes to its better understanding.

    Description: Between 1987 and 1995, rescue excavations were carried out on three Late Bronze Age / Early Iron Age cremation burial cemeteries in the Castres area of the Tarn region (Gourjade and Le Martinet near Castres, Le Causse at Labruguière). These vast funerary complexes, containing more than 1,200 burials, were considered to form an indivisible whole and as such were listed as sites of national importance in 1995. Study of archaeological finds from the sites, comprised of almost 5,300 vessels and some 1,300 metal objects, has led to developing a simple common typology similar to those defined for cemeteries in the western lower Languedoc region. Typological characteristics are examined in detail and presented in conjunction with distribution maps. A detailed study of funerary architecture and deposit distribution, using the same approach as the spatial analysis, is presented in the following chapter. These observations provide the basis for suggestions concerning the chronological sequencing of the burials. The resulting seriation conclusively demonstrates the presence of five groups, thus shedding light on the evolution of material culture and funerary assemblages in the Castres cemeteries over more than three centuries (from the 9th to the first half of the 6th c BCE) and indicating that significant changes took place during the Bronze Age / Iron Age transition period. The study of topographical evolution points to logical patterns of development which were concentric at Causse and Goujade and linear at Martinet. Anthropological analysis, which is based on a remarkable sample comprised of more than 1,200 bone assemblages, unique in France for this period, has provided information on selection within the cemeteries and on changes in deposits and their constituents. A chapter is also given over to animal remains which are both numerous and varied, particularly at Causse. The study demonstrates changes in both the quantity and the qua lit y of meat offerings over time and provides a pertinent view of this practice. The paleosociological analysis which follows adopts a classical approach in which ail parameters are taken into consideration. The results indicate that deposits are relatively uniform and point to a degree of social levelling within the communities. The final chapter considers the cemeteries cultural identity and their regional connections. Study of available documentation over a wide area, extending from Provence to Aquitaine, demonstrates strong links with Mediterranean groups, primarily those from the western lower Languedoc area. The studies and syntheses are based upon abundant documentary evidence which is presented in its entirety in the second and third volumes.

There was certainly no lack of biographical views in the research of the faculty history, still, such a complex set of biograms has not been collected so far. And the publication offers much more: the authors use a large set of biographical data to interpret the history of the faculty from the perspective of alternating academic generations and contemplate the formative generation experience as well as the phenomena that affected the lives of academics and students over the past 100 years. These include, as a matter of fact, both positive and negative phenomena, therefore, the publication is not just an overview of deserving personalities, respected scientists and charismatic teachers, but it also openly discusses the lives of controversial scholars. Thus, the collection of biograms provides a credible testimony to the one-hundred-year work of the faculty, continually blending studies, science and politics.

    Description: An OverView is presented here of the studies conducted at this prestigious site, where as a rural, then an urban space developed. the traces left by humankind from prehistoric times to the 19th century have accumulated. The trenches and material of farmers of Neolithic and protohistoric times gave way to a silt quarry, then to the plots of land in a suburbium outside of Lutetia, still present in the 9th century. A 14th century manor house, decorated with mural paintings, preceded the city’s encroachment on this area, seen in the Charles V city wall and the neighbouring faubourg, while the tile Works continued to be active for three centuries. In the 16th century the site was drastically altered by the construction of the Tuileries castle and the Jardin Neuf. Interpretation of the numerous vestiges, supported by palaeoenvironmental studies and archival documents, provides new and sometimes unexpected data on land use before urbanisation, on the social status of the inhabitants, on the fate of renowned edifices. This book tells a story. "the story of a small piece of Paris", one of the great seats of the history of France. In the heart of Paris, the Grand Louvre project led to urban excavation on an exceptional scale. This archaeofogical operation was a model of its kind, both by the nature of its findings and its state-of-the-art exploration strategies.

    Description: This work introduces the initial results of research at sites occupied by Native Americans in the Sinnamary basin (1660-220 BP), carried ont at the time of the construction of the Petit Saut dam by Electricité de France in French Guyana. A methodological approach pertaining to the tropical sylvan and riparian milieu is followed by a study of the open-air sites, and a commentary focusing on the phenomenon of terra preta and palaeolithic fires. For the first time a typological tramework and a vocabulary are proposed for reference to lithic senes and polishing-tool sites. This work also includes a study of ceramics using two complementary approaches: determination of place of manufacture based on the Chemical make-up of the pestes employed, and codification of the forms and motifs of the 22,000 objects registered. Following up on the publication devoted to the colonial period in this region (dAf 60), this volume makes a signifiant contribution to the renewal of histonographical work on the Guyana plateau.

Examining ancientand recent documentation on some thirty sites and using a statistical sériés method applied to Gallic and imported furnishings, Anne Colin défi nés five phases which she then compares to existing régional chronologies. She analyses the diversity observed in régional trends, diversity due to differing political and économie circumstances, and also to the comptex rôle played by contacts with the Mediterranean sphere, throughout a large part of Caul. The study volume is completed by a site catalogue that includes unpublished data and bibliographical references.

    Description: The Château de Gréoux-les-Bains was built in the heart of Provence on a site which had been used from early Roman times for its hot springs. The castle’s powerful outline dominates the village whose organisation and architecture has preserved evidence of its development from the Middle Ages to the modern period. In the present work, Sandrine Claude combines analysis of archival sources, selected excavation data and standing remains - making particular use of building archeology - to determine the origins and ambitions that presided over the building of a castle whose size is disproportionate to its geographical and human context. The castle’s little known history and its architectural development are thus retraced and the monument placed in its human environment, that of its commissioners and successive owners.

    Description: L’archéologie préhistorique, inventée il y a à peine deux siècles, est une science récente ; c’est également une science en constante évolution dont les frontières restent indéterminées. Ce qu’elle est aujourd’hui devenue n’a plus guère à voir avec ce qu’elle a pu être : progressant vite, cette discipline rassemble autour d’elle des compétences exception­nellement nombreuses (géologiques, zoologiques, paléoanthropologiques, etc.). L’ambition de cet ouvrage est donc multiple. Interrogeant la provenance de cette discipline et l’évolution de ses rapports avec d’autres sciences, il propose tout d’abord une ­cartographie des avancées en cours. Et, pour cela, quelques-uns des meilleurs spécialistes de la discipline ont été sollicités. Mais il s’agit tout autant, d’une part, de porter un regard critique sur l’épistémologie qu’elle déploie et, d’autre part, de mener une réflexion sur les défis qu’il lui faut relever afin de se rendre pleinement visible. C’est pourquoi quatre axes de questionnement ont ici été privilégiés : le rapport au temps (et à l’histoire plus récente), l’évocation de récentes percées scientifiques, la confrontation aux autres sciences humaines, le partage du savoir au-delà des cercles ­savants. En cela cet ouvrage, à l’instar de ce qu’a finalement toujours été la préhistoire, se veut ­résolument interdisciplinaire. Aussi mobilise-t-il, en plus d’archéologues aux compétences multiples, des anthropologues, des historiens, des philosophes. Seule une telle interdisciplinarité peut nous permettre d’esquisser à petites touches les nouvelles frontières, dynamiques, mouvantes et toujours prometteuses, de la préhistoire.

    Description: This richly illustrated monograph the result of exhaustive documentary research, offers a detailed and standardised critical inventory of Late Bronze Age to fifth century BC funerary assemblages discovered in the Grands Gausses region of France. The work brings together data from excavations carried out since the nineteenth century, presenting a corpus of 240 funerary deposits whose surviving anthropological, faunal and archaeological finds have been completely re-examined. Particular attention is given to the human remains. Seen in relation to hypotheses suggested by historical and ethnological comparisons, this study of funerary practices in the pre-literate world provides insights into organisational structures and social hierarchies, shedding new light on collective notions of death and the after-life.

À travers le récit intime d’une cour tapageuse et d’un mariage désastreux – brillamment reconstitué grâce à des lettres de famille et des archives judiciaires –, Le parfait fasciste nous invite au grand spectacle de l’ascension et de la chute de Mussolini. Teruzzi y apparaît comme un spécimen exemplaire de l’homme nouveau fasciste : conformiste, intéressé, sans scrupule, violent et opportuniste, en plus d’être un jouisseur effréné. Dans cette étude historique majeure, Victoria de Grazia nous rappelle que le privé est toujours politique dans la quête fasciste de la virilité et du pouvoir. Un portrait érudit et captivant des deux décennies du régime fasciste porté par deux récits – l’un politique et public, l’autre personnel et privé – savamment entrelacés.

    Description: La sociologie de l’alimentation, sans doute parce qu’elle a été longtemps structurée autour des questions de goût, de territoire, de patrimoine et qu’elle explore la question de la commensalité, a privilégié dans sa problématisation de l’acte alimentaire la ligne directrice de la continuité. Aussi, en proposant dans cet ouvrage collectif de soumettre l’alimentation au cadre d’analyse de la promesse, nous souhaitions opérer un pas de côté problématique susceptible de mieux rendre compte de l’articulation entre le temps long de l’histoire de l’alimentation, sa dimension anthropologique et les effets de rupture engendrés par certaines promesses. L’objectif était double : d’une part interroger le caractère novateur des promesses alimentaires et donc de saisir leurs conditions d’émergence, de circulation et de transformation ; d’autre part, comprendre ce que les mangeurs en font concrètement au quotidien : les adoptent-ils ? les rejettent-ils ? les bricolent-ils ? Ont ainsi été rassemblées neuf contributions issues d’enquêtes de sciences sociales et d’histoire, à dominante ethnographique, richement illustrées et réalisées sur trois continents. Les promesses décryptées ici s’arriment à des produits (pain, probiotiques, compléments alimentaires), à des pratiques (les régimes « sans », le mouvement « zéro déchet ») et à des enjeux (l’autonomie alimentaire des villes, l’alimentation en fin de vie, la malnutrition infantile et l’aide alimentaire). En cela, l’ouvrage s’adresse aux étudiants, enseignants, chercheurs et autres professionnels intéressés par l’alimentation contemporaine et ses dimensions sociale, politique, nutritionnelle et écologique.

Entre exigences de santé publique et intérêts économiques, entre velléités de soins et imaginaires de consommation, ce livre met en évidence les dualités inhérentes au médicament et propose in fine réflexions et outils pour gouverner les marchés pharmaceutiques dans l’intérêt de la santé publique, privilégiant la sûreté des produits, leur utilité thérapeutique et leur accessibilité. Un ouvrage indispensable pour la compréhension globale des enjeux qui animent aujourd’hui les marchés du médicament aux Suds.

    Description: Title in English: Pro-naturally focused teacher and his approach to (environmental) education The publication aims to cover the key factors which influenced the teacher´s biophile/pro-environmental orientation, and his approach to the education, and subsequently provide his life picture for which the term bioprofile is used. In order to fulfill the goal of the publication a qualitative approach was chosen. The group of respondents consisted of four teachers whose profiles corresponded with the set beforehand criteria. For data collecting and their analysis and interpretation the method of life history in combination with the narrative, phenomenological and hermeneutical approaches was used. The final bioprofile, which is mainly the result of the respondents´spontaneous narration, interlinks three related areas. These were detected within the process of the obtained data analysis and comparison. The submitted monography offers a more complex view of pro-environmentally oriented teacher. Exploring the life history of each respondent, enabled us not only to identify the essential factors which influenced the teacher´s biophile orientation, but also to understand deeper his personality and the way of his pedagogical thinking.

    Description: La gestion des déchets est aujourd’hui un enjeu primordial. Faire face à leur croissance très rapide depuis les années 2000 et à la saturation des décharges demande un véritable plan de collecte et de gestion. À Hà Nội, l’absence de tri et de recyclage par les opérateurs officiels, publics ou privés, et la croissance de la consommation d’une classe moyenne en augmentation font que la ville-capitale est dépassée par la quantité de déchets à ramasser. Ni la municipalité ni le secteur privé ne parviennent à mettre en place un système de tri à la source ou après ramassage, et à recycler les déchets. Pourtant, un système très innovant de collecte sélective et de recyclage des déchets (plastique, métaux, papier et cartons) est organisé depuis plusieurs décennies par des individus, en majorité des femmes d’origine rurale, qui collectent environ 20 % des déchets de la ville. Non reconnues par les autorités mais tolérées, ces entreprises familiales et informelles (pour la plupart) exercent leur activité dans les interstices de la loi et créent de nombreux emplois. À partir d’un riche corpus de cartes et d’études de terrain, les auteurs s’interrogent sur l’organisation de ce système informel et sur son maintien dans un territoire urbain très disputé, ainsi que sur les stratégies – très polluantes pour l’environnement et la santé – mises en oeuvre par ces collecteurs et recycleurs dans cette capitale en pleine expansion. Ils mettent en lumière la complexité du système et les multiples tensions entre les acteurs au sein des territoires, ainsi que les contradictions entre les logiques économiques du marché et des autorités publiques, dans un contexte de concurrence sur les matériaux recyclables au niveau local comme international. De très belles photos et des témoignages montrent également la vie au quotidien de ces collecteurs-recycleurs. Ce livre s’adresse à tout public intéressé par cette question majeure pour des villes durables.

    Description: Ce livre est la première monographie anthropologique qui examine de près les programmes chirurgicaux humanitaires. Il décrit le parcours des victimes de guerre syriennes et irakiennes, leurs blessures, leur traitement médical improvisé sur place, leurs soins à l'hôpital géré par MSF à Amman en Jordanie et leur retour chez eux, en se concentrant sur les non-combattants blessés. L'autrice étudie la manière dont les employés de MSF et leurs -patients interagissent, et comment ces interactions contribuent à l'immense travail de guérison qui attend les victimes de guerre. Le lecteur découvre des espaces intimes qui sont habituellement fermés à l'observateur : l'hôpital MSF et les maisons des patients, des lieux riches en contacts humains, en perceptions, en émotions, en conflits et en réconciliations. Reconstruire des vies est le fruit d'une étroite collaboration entre l'autrice et Médecins sans frontières, notamment son think tank interne, le CRASH (Centre de réflexion sur l'action et les savoirs humanitaires), engagé dans une réflexion critique sur les pratiques de terrain. Ce travail, qui a entraîné un certain nombre de changements opérationnels dans la manière de traiter les patients, est un exemple de l'impact durable que peut avoir la recherche sur la -pratique humanitaire.

    Description: In 1991, construction work in the north-east neighbourhood of Marseilles was the opportunity of studying the quarter Sainte-Barbe (5th-17th century). These excavations revealed the remains of an extra muros quarter specialized in the production of pottery during the 13th century. For the first time in France, the production of urban polyvalent workshops over a hundred years could be analyzed (common unglazed ware, glazed cooking ware, painted tin-glazed ware...). The presence of a kiln of Islamic tradition as well as the types of shapes suggest a transfer of the know-how, moving-abouts of the craftsmen and of their productions, and offers a newer view upon the history of techniques and the origins of majolica in Southern France. This book presents a study about kilns with clay rods supporting the vessels around the Mediterranean basin an in the Near-East. It sheds light upon a firing technique which has disappeared in the West. An exceptional documentary source concerning ceramic techniques as well as the history of the City of Marseilles.

    Description: L’ouvrage présenté ici trouve son origine dans un séminaire de l’EHESS, animé par Enric Porqueres I Gené de 2014 à 2017. Ce séminaire a été l’occasion de mener un travail collectif aux perspectives fructueuses et heuristiques. Le point central de la réflexion s’est focalisé sur le statut de l’embryon dans le champ de l’histoire et de l’anthropologie. L’Afrique de l’Ouest, la Mélanésie, le monde Inuit, la médecine ayurvédique constituent autant de cas explorés dans le cadre de ce séminaire, souvent accompagné de spécialistes de ces différentes aires culturelles. La mise en parallèle de ces ethnographies avec les travaux sur les contextes des biotechnologies contemporaines a permis de dégager une série de récurrences qui semblent bonnes à penser. Les parallélismes entre les discours embryologiques dans une approche ontogénétique, de constitution de l’être, et ceux sur les origines de l’humanité propres à chacun des contextes analysés ont été étudiés. Deux parties structurent cet ouvrage qui comporte douze textes, mêlant approche anthropologique, philosophique, historique, sociologique et ethnographique. Une première partie porte sur la vie prénatale, d’abord mise en perspective par l’histoire des idées. Est également évoqué l’embryon tel qu’ici et ailleurs il est thématisé. On y trouve les contributions de Luc Brisson (CNRS), Christèle Barois (Universitat Wien), Stéphane Dugast (IRD/MNHN), Laurent Dousset (EHESS), Mary Picone (EHESS), Alejandro Bilbao (Université de los Lagos, Chili). Une deuxième partie est consacrée à l’embryon dans le cadre des biotechnologies de la reproduction contemporaines en Europe.     Description: Title in English: Vladislav Vančura in the Literary Context of the 20th Century On June 23, 2021, it was the 130th anniversary of Vladislav Vančura’s birth, and June 1, 2022, was the 80th anniversary of his death. These anniversaries became the impetus for a collective volume entitled Vladislav Vančura in the Literary Context of the 20th Century. The editor Jiří Poláček approached researchers from various disciplines from literary studies to linguistics and to theatre studies with an appeal to think and rethink the literary and general cultural legacy of this important figure. The book volume by the team of researchers from six Czech universities is an attempt to reflect on the oeuvre by Vančura from the perspective of the current state of knowledge in literary studies and the broader context of the 20th century. The image of Vladislav Vančura within the context of the previous century arises from 15 texts by 15 authors, organized into four thematic blocks.

    Description: Under the direction of H. Kértbel, excavation on the site of Fanum Martis. present-day Corseul, has gradually revealed a vast trading and crafts centre within the archaeological protection area of Monterfil II. Uncovering a surface area of over 5000 m2 along the major axis of the former Coriosolati capital has enabled archaeologists to discern architectural and topographical changes which took place in this quarter from 15/10 BCE to the 4th century CE. The finds, which include a high proportion of Italian potters’ marks and Lipari amphorae, attest to the significance ot the town as a marketplace for items produced throughout the Mediterranean Basin. A metrological analysis of the remains, earned out by an archaeologist trained in architecture, has served as the basis for a reconstruction of elevations governed by the Tuscan order. Although there is still much work to be done in Corseul. the excavation carried out thus far at Monterfil II has shown how the urban layout and public and private domains were established during the reign of Augustus.
