Description: Jordi Brasó prologa aquesta edició facsímil del Diari de Vilamar (1922), que es publicà a la colònia escolar de Calafell i que simbolitza tot el moviment social de renovació pedagògica catalana d’inicis del segle XX. Juntament amb l’esforç de diversos mestres i pedagogs, hi hagué el de les institucions per fomentar una escola nova centrada en els interessos i les necessitats del jovent. En conseqüència es volgué millorar la qualitat, la vida i la formació de l’infant allunyant-se de la pedagogia memorística i no reflexiva. Això significava posar el punt de mira en l’alumne, i a partir d’aquest protagonisme elaborar tota la tasca educativa. Aquest diari, amb catorze números que van del 29 d’agost al 14 de setembre de 1922, detalla la vida a la colònia de la Primera República Escolar de Vilamar l’any de la seva creació. A càrrec dels alumnes, és un exemple de com era l’estada a Calafell, que funcionava com una ciutat ideal i amb un model d’autogestió democràtica organitzat de manera jeràrquica entre els habitants.

El document posa de manifest que la implementació de les tecnologies Big Data en l’àmbit sanitari, associada a una eventual comercialització d’aquestes dades, impacta directament en el nostre sistema sanitari i investigador i afecta de ple a l’àmbit privat dels ciutadans.

From a Swedish perspective, this new book challenges current ideas about what higher education is for. It presents fifteen principles for future development that range from a discussion of the nature of knowledge to the responsibility of the university in the development of society. La finalitat és incidir en les polítiques públiques i en el debat social informat sobre els reptes bioètics que plantegen el sistema alimentari actual i la seva evolució; atenent, en particular, al paper que la innovació i les tecnologies de la informació tindran en la seguretat, qualitat i sostenibilitat efectives del sistema, i en especial pel que fa a la comunicació i la percepció dels riscos per part dels ciutadans. El Grup d’Opinió de l’Observatori de Bioètica i Dret es va constituir el 1996 sota la direcció de la Dra. La finalidad es incidir en las políticas públicas y en el debate social informado sobre los retos bioéticos que plantea el sistema alimentario actual y su evolución, atendiendo, en particular, al papel que van a jugar la innovación y las tecnologías de la información en la seguridad, la calidad y la sostenibilidad efectiva del sistema, y especialmente a la comunicación y percepción de los riesgos por parte de los ciudadanos. El Grupo de Opinión del OBD que ha elaborado este documento se constituyó en 1996 bajo la dirección de la Dra. María Casado. [eng] With this document on food information: ethical, legal and policy issues, the Bioethics and Law Observatory (OBD) initiates a new line of publications on the ethical, legal and social implications of food-related issues, given their increasing importance and their relationship to bioethics and human rights. The aim of this work is to influence public policy and inform social debate on the bioethical challenges posed by the current food system and its evolution. In particular, the document takes into account the role that innovation and information technologies will play in the safety, quality and sustainability of the system. It addresses specifically communication-related issues and public perception of risks associated with foods. The “Opinion Group” of the OBD that has prepared this document was constituted in 1996 under the leadership of Dr. María Casado. Among its objectives is to influence the dialogue between the university and society through the transference of scientific-technical knowledge and the analysis of arguments needed to participate in informed social debate. With the publication of this document on food information, twenty-five documents have now been published concerning current issues on which no agreed upon consensus in society or in the various scientific communities involved exists. This has required identifying problems, comparing perspectives and proposing consensus-based recommendations. This document focuses on bioethical issues related to food information and highlights the disconnect between current food information policy based on labelling and the indiscriminate dissemination of food information available to the consumer through different channels. It also identifies the consequences of this disconnect on individual food choices, public health and the perpetuation of environmentally and socially unsustainable production practices and patterns of consumption.

The prohibition created tensions which art and literature could play with. Berättelser om det förbjudna: Begär mellan kvinnor i svensk litteratur 1900–1935 (“Stories of the Forbidden: Desire between Women in Swedish Literature 1900–1935”) is a free-standing continuation of Kärlekshistoria: Begär mellan kvinnor i 1800-talets litteratur (“Love Story: Desire between Women in Nineteenth-century Literature”, 2008). Together the books span over 100 years of Swedish literary history, making them the most comprehensive study available in the field in Sweden and Scandinavia. Eva Borgström is associate professor of comparative literature and lecturer at the Department of Literature, History of Ideas, and Religion at the University of Gothenburg. She has formerly worked at the National Secretariat for Gender Research and the Department of Gender Studies.

In the Traces of the Cold War describes the making of a diverse and innovative Swedish military heritage. The book shows how memories and material remains from a period characterized by fear and geopolitical tensions are infused with new meanings when bunkers, decommissioned military facilities and technology are transformed into luxury housing, attractive tourist destinations and museum exhibitions. Through field-visits to military heritage sites across Sweden, the authors examine what material objects, narratives and emotions that today represent the Cold War. These examinations show how military structures and equipment from a time associated with threat and danger become captivating elements of the cultural heritage, while also communicating specific ideas regarding security and protection. In the Traces of the Cold War takes a novel approach to cultural heritage by relating collective memory-making to security policy. Based on theoretical perspectives from critical heritage studies (CHS) and feminist international relations (IR), the analysis focuses on constructions of national belonging and underlines the role of gender and sexuality in narrations of security and protection. In a democracy, the subject of military violence must always be a matter of ethical and political conversations. Setting out from this assumption, the authors critically discuss how Cold War heritagisation produces militarization as “natural” and necessary. The book invites reflection on how history is written as well as on what the requirements are for a safe and secure society. In the Traces of the Cold War presents the results from an interdisciplinary research project. The authors are all researchers at Stockholm University and have written the book together.

Per a analitzar la situació i presentar les propostes que han d’assegurar l’autonomia personal i la integració social d’aquestes persones, el Grup d’Opinió ha pres com a referència la Declaració Universal sobre Bioètica i Drets Humans de la Unesco (2005) i la Convenció sobre els drets de les persones amb discapacitat de l’ONU (2006), que coincideixen a tractar la discapacitat des de la perspectiva dels drets humans.

In the anthology, researchers, senior lecturers and experienced educators discuss research questions about aesthetic expressions, communication, subjects, learning processes and reflections from a practice point of departure. The authors are all employed at or connected to the arts education at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences Education (HSD) at Stockholm University, Sweden. The book includes descriptions of different research practices such as research by professors and senior lecturers, post docs as well as the reflective writings of teaching personnel. The chapters have all gone through a double-blind peer-review process.
