Description: The monograph is a translated and complemented edition of the book Airborne laser scanning raster data visualization: A Guide to Good Practice. It provides an insight into a range of visualization techniques for high-resolution digital elevation models (DEMs). It is provided in the context of investigation and interpretation of various types of historical and modern, cultural and natural small-scale relief features and landscape structures. It also provides concise guidance for selecting the best techniques when looking at a specific type of landscape and/or looking for particular kinds of forms.The three main sections – descriptions of visualization techniques, guidance for selection of the techniques, and visualization tools – accompany examples of visualizations, exemplar archaeological and geomorphological case studies, a glossary of terms, and a list of references and recommendations for further reading. The structure facilitates people of different academic background and level of expertise to understand different visualizations, how to read them, how to manipulate the settings in a calculation, and choose the best suited for the purpose of the intended investigation.

Description: Monografija nudi vpogled v nabor tehnik prikaza visokoločljivih modelov višin. Napisana je v kontekstu preučevanja in interpretacije različnih tipov zgodovinskih in modernih, kulturnih in naravnih majhnih reliefnih oblik. Daje jedrnate napotke za izbiro najboljših tehnik prikaza določenih tipov pokrajine in izrazitih oblik.Tri glavna poglavja – opis tehnik prikazovanja digitalnih modelov višin, napotki za njihovo izbiro in orodja za izračun prikazov –, spremljajo izbrani primeri tipičnih arheoloških in geomorfoloških študij, slovarček pojmov ter seznam literature in priporočenega branja. Posameznikom z različnih znanstvenih področij in z različnim predznanjem o tematiki je struktura v pomoč pri razumevanju različnih tehnik prikazov, kako jih brati, kako izbrati prave nastavitve pri njihovem izračunu in kako prepoznati najbolj primerne za namen zasnovane raziskave.

Description: With notary books we are not dealing with literary readings, but with abstracts of a mass of business manuscript agreements of various contents. The subject of this publication is the preserved parts of the third, ninth, and tenth notary fascicles from the Piran Branch Office of the Regional Archives of Koper. The fragments contain the models of documents created in the period 1284–1296. The authors of summaries in the preserved fragments of notary fascicles are Facina Grimaldi, Facina (Vitali?) and Francisscus de Malonbris.

Description: Šesti zvezek piranskih notarskih knjig prinaša znanstveno-kritično objavo ohranjenih fragmentov treh notarskih knjig iz edinstvenega gradiva piranske izpostave Pokrajinskega arhiva Koper. Gre za dele tretje, devete in desete knjige. Prvi vsebuje 255, drugi 22 in tretji 422 skrčenih latinskih predlog notarskih listin iz razdobja 1284 do 1296. Vpisi v notarskih knjigah so pestrih vsebin in slikajo gospodarsko, družbeno in vsakdanje življenje v Piranu in okolici, nudijo podatke o prebivalstvu, njegovi etnični pripadnosti, o historični topografiji, pravni praksi itd. Kulturna dediščina notarskih knjig vpenja slovensko primorje v širši mediteranski prostor, ki ga je odlikovala praksa vodenja notarskih kodeksov. Objava vsebuje uvodno študijo, prepise izvirnikov, ki so opremljeni z datacijami, oznakami vsebin in opombami, ter imenski, pojmovni seznam in seznam vsebin vpisov. Ta pomagala olajšujejo uporabniku razumevanje in orientacijo v latinskem delu besedila. Uvodna študija, pojasnila k prepisom ter seznama pojmov in vsebin so – v želji spodbuditi širši krog uporabnikov k raziskavam preteklosti severozahodne Istre – prevedeni tudi v angleščino.

Description: The Auerspergs [Turjaški] are among the rare noble families in the Slovenian territory with systematically preserved archives that date back to the Middle Ages. Most archival materials of the family, which was largely embedded in the framework of the Province of Carniola until the end of the 15th century, are presently kept in two private family archives: the Turjak Comital Fideicomiss Archives (Gräflich Auersperg'sches Fideikommisarchiv), first kept in the Turjak Castle until 1942 and now in the Carinthian Provincial Archives in Klagenfurt, and the Turjak Ducal Archives (Fürstlich Auersperg'sches Archiv), which were first moved to the Turjak Palace in Ljubljana and the Lower Austrian Lösensteinleiten Castle and finally ended up in the Viennese Haus-, Hof-, und Staatsarchiv.Turjaška knjiga listin 1 (1218–1400) [Turjak Book of Charters I (1218–1400)] contains 277 charters from the private archives of the Carniolan comital and ducal lines of the Auerspergs [Turjaški]. Published in their entirety, the charters are equipped with Slovenian regests and followed in the end by a comprehensive index of names and pictures of seals from the charters. With the publication of the Turjak charters, Slovenian historiography has gained an indispensable aid for the research of Slovenian medieval and modern history.

Description: V Turjaški knjigi listin I (1218–1400) je objavljeno 277 listin iz zasebnih arhivov kranjske grofovske in knežje linije Turjaških (Auerspergov), ki so jih v sklopu grajskega arhiva do leta 1942 hranili na gradu Turjak, danes pa so shranjene izven slovenskega ozemlja. Listine so objavljene v celoti, opremljene so s slovenskimi regesti, ob koncu pa sledijo še obsežno imensko kazalo in slike pečatov z listin. Pripravljena izdaja turjaških listin sega do leta 1400 in je prvi del serije, v kateri bodo v končni fazi objavljene vse, tudi novoveške turjaške listine. Slovensko zgodovinopisje bo z objavo turjaških listin pridobilo nepogrešljiv pripomoček za raziskovanje slovenske srednjeveške in novoveške zgodovine.

Description: "The study aim was twofold: 1) Review basic principles of test-retest reliability, and 2) investigate the reliability of a test procedure of a one-minute time trial on an ergometer bicycle in relatively well-trained young adults. The subjects (N = 12) completed three “all-out” intervals on the bicycle ergometers where average watt produced was recorded. The results of the experiments showed no significant mean differences across tests, high ICC (.996), low CV, TE, and SEM. The findings suggested that the ergometer test had the ability to produce accurate and stable measurements. It also indicated that measurement biases that affected the results did not seem to occur."

Description: "Formålet med studien var todelt: 1) Gjennomgå sentrale prinsipper for test– retest-reliabilitet, og 2) reliabilitetsteste en protokoll for maksimal innsats på sykkelrulle med ett minutts varighet hos relativt godt trente unge voksne. Forsøkspersonene (N = 12) gjennomførte tre forsøk på sykkelrulle hvor gjennomsnittwatt ble registrert. Resultatene viste ingen signifikant forskjell mellom forsøkene, høy ICC (.996), lav CV og lav TE og SEM. Resultatene indikerte at sykkeltesten har evne til å produsere nøyaktige og stabile målinger. De indikerte også at det ikke ser ut til å forkomme større systematiske feilmålinger som påvirker resultatene i betydelig grad."

Description: "The aim of this study was to investigate characteristics of situations when top referees in soccer make an incorrect decision. Two expert panels, consisting of four top referees and four top players respectively, assessed 98 potential penalty shootout situations in Tippeligaen (Norwegian Premier League). The situations in which all the expert panels considered that the match referee made an incorrect decision (N = 14) were then analyzed based on recommended technical refereeing criteria and guidelines, as the referee’s distance to, angle to and insight into these penalty situations. The results revealed that in 11 of these 14 situations the referee had a greater distance than recommended. Furthermore, both the angle and insight were only of medium or poor nature. This may indicate that the referee had limited basis when assessing these situations, and subsequently landed on a wrong decision. Findings also showed that referees were more likely to go in favor of high status teams. This will be a topic for discussion in this article, based on the theory of dealing with mistakes and social pressure."

Description: "Målet med denne studien var å undersøke hva som kjennetegner situasjoner hvor toppdommere i fotball dømmer feil. To ekspertpanel, bestående av henholdsvis fire toppdommere og fire toppspillere, vurderte 98 potensielle straffesparksituasjoner i Tippeligaen. Situasjonene der samtlige i ekspertpanelene vurderte at kampdommeren tok en feil avgjørelse (N = 14), ble deretter analysert med bakgrunn i anbefalte dommertekniske kriterier og retningslinjer – som dommerens avstand, vinkel og innsikt til disse straffesparksituasjonene. Description: The text-critical edition Turjaška knjiga listin II [Turjak Book of Charters II], containing 436 published documents from the 15th century, completes the medieval corpus of charters from the private archives of the Carniolan comital and ducal lines of the Auerspergs. Description: The contributions thematise love to a homeland in groups and individuals who fail to conform to the dominant understanding of patriotism~this often renders them inapt patriots and they are, hence, symbolically deprived of loving their homeland. The authors thematise love for homeland(s) in im/migrants, members of ethnic and sexual minorities, mixed marriage children, anarchists and social critics and activists. The authors and the people depicted stand for understanding and practicing the so-called critical patriotism, a practice best subsumed in the phrase: “use your mind”.

Description: Prispevki v knjigi tematizirajo ljubezen do domovine pri posameznikih in skupinah, ki ne ustrezajo prevladujočem pojmovanju domoljuba, zaradi česar se jim simbolno odvzame pravica do ljubezni do domovine. Avtorji obravnavajo ljubezen do domovin/e pri izseljencih, priseljencih, pripadnikih etničnih in spolnih manjšin, otrocih iz mešanih zakonov, anarhistih ter družbenih kritikih in aktivistih. Tako avtorji prispevkov kot njihovi akterji se zavzemajo za razumevanje in prakticiranje kritičnega domoljubja, za držo, ki jo najbolje povzemajo besede »misli s svojo glavo«.
