    Description: بينما توجد أطالس كثيرة عن مصر القديمة لا يوجد أطلس واحد عن مصر المعاصرة. ويأتي هذا العمل ليسد فراغا ويقدم للجمهور العام بانوراما مصورة عن مصر في بداية القرن الحادي والعشرين. وبتجميع مساهمات أكثر من خمسين باحثاً يقدم العمل المزود بخرائط والمصاغ بلغة مبسطة الوقائع الكبرى والتحديات الراهنة في مصر في مجالات السياسة والجيوبوليتيك والاقتصاد والديموغرافيا والحياة الاجتماعية والبيئية والثقافية. ويستند الأطلس من أجل هذه الغاية على مصادر وثائقية غير منشورة ولاسيما الخرائط التي تستفيد من نتائج التعداد الرسمي المصري في عام ٢٠١٧ لتقدم صورة راهنة للواقع، لكي نعرف مصر اليوم ونفهمها على نحو أفضل.
