    Description: The volume, dedicated to the 44th International Conference of the Italian Union for Drawing, investigates the theme of ‘Transitions’, which particularly effectively represents our time and the current condition of the discipline of Drawing. The term, beyond its generic meaning of an intermediate stage in a process in which a condition changes from one state to another, has always been used in various fields, from music to geophysics. In fact, the disciplines of drawing have always been confronted with themes and issues relating to transitions from one condition to another. The history of representation tells us of transformations, even epochal ones, relating to ‘drawing’, with all that such transitions entail: suffice it to think of the evolution of forms of representation, of instrumental apparatuses, of the mutability of supports, of the analogical-digital transition underway, of the new modes of communication on platforms, of the hypertrophic offer of images also on the net that confirms Guy Debord’s intuitions relating to the new spectacularisation of society. Similarly, representation triggers transitions in the prefiguration and communication of design, the anticipation and foreshadowing of future events.The challenges posed by the digital pose open questions whose scope can only be glimpsed, such as the relationship between drawing and the act of modelling, and the construction of new paradigms of visual language and communication. ‘Transitions’, almost implicitly, points to possible futures, the evolution of technique and the search for new modes of expression; at the same time, however, it can suggest silences and reflections in a process of connection between history, theory, criticism and construction.

    Description: Les disciplines historiques ont porté un éclairage décisif sur la diversité du clergé séculier et sur sa place dans la société française d’Ancien Régime ; analysée à travers les prismes de la culture matérielle, de l’histoire sociale et politique ou de l’anthropologie religieuse, la figure du prêtre de campagne est aujourd’hui mieux cernée. Sans être totalement négligées, les recherches sur l’implication du bas clergé dans la commande artistique des temps modernes attendent cependant des approfondissements, dont cet ouvrage livre tes premières réflexions. Les prêtres étaient probablement les premiers concernés par le décor de leurs églises mais quelle était précisément la nature de leurs « participations » ? Quelques interrogations ont déjà leurs réponses : textes et documents livrent des preuves de leur immixtion dans la commande, allant de la mise en œuvre des adjudications au choix des artistes ou des ateliers, à la gestion des coûts, la sélection des matériaux, etc. Et si nous pouvons saisir la manière dont les hommes d’église s’immisçaient dans la création, l’examen des portraits qu’ils ont laissés documente conjointement la perception de leur propre condition : des guides de cortèges processionnels aux faiseurs de miracles, des célébrants d’autels aux « notables » en soutanes, ces représentations sont autant d’indices qui éclairent la vie et la culture des dites paroissiales qu’ils constituaient.

Denia offre une opportunité unique pour repenser les sociétés et la territorialité méditerranéennes à l’époque médiévale, à un moment où les mondes islamiques et chrétiens intensifièrent leurs contacts par le biais du commerce, de la diplomatie et de la violence. Les souverains islamiques de Denia ont pratiqué une politique de participation active dons ce monde de communication interculturelle en pleine expansion. Cette étude permet de proposer une lecture complexe des relations islamo-chrétiennes, au-delà des interprétations binaires de ces rencontres vues souvent comme étant soit violentes soit pacifiques À travers l’exemple de Denia, émergent des États et des individus aux appartenances multiples, dont les identités se définissent par la religion, mois également par la politique, l’économie et la culture.

    Description: Voici un livre engagé qui veut témoigner d’un attachement à une culture spécifique, la culture occitane. Loin d’être associée à une vision rétrograde, cette culture surgit du plus profond de chacun d’entre nous. On trouvera ici des témoignages de la vie quotidienne en langue occitane : langue du travail, langue de la vie familiale, langue des échanges sociaux… mais aussi langue de la création inventive, de l’imaginaire fécond. Tout ce patrimoine continue à être transmis : même si la transmission familiale a baissé, la langue reste encore parlée et surtout comprise. L’occitan, langue de culture et de création depuis les troubadours, a traversé les siècles : le renouvellement de la littérature continue de nos jours et des auteurs contemporains explorent de nouveaux genres. On peut affirmer que la culture occitane participe à la pluralité des cultures en France. Car si notre rôle (on pourrait même dire notre obligation) est de mettre en valeur la culture occitane, nous n’en négligeons pas pour autant la culture française dans laquelle nous nous reconnaissons aussi. Ce livre offre 31 articles de spécialistes de toute provenance (universitaires et érudits locaux) qui, avec un regard nouveau, refusent l’enfermement régionaliste. Si le but d’un tel livre est de faire connaître le patrimoine lodévois lié à la langue et d’en démontrer sa richesse, son impact dépasse largement le cadre restreint d’une simple monographie. Il parle de la réalité culturelle occitane qui s’insère dans la culture européenne. Il est certain que le public lodévois sera le premier étonné d’une telle richesse. Par sa diversité, son cadre ouvert, son bilinguisme, cet ouvrage s’adresse à un public très large qui saura y trouver un immense intérêt et en utiliser éventuellement sa vaste documentation.
