    Revision of the genus Spinaria Brullé (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Rogadinae), with keys to genera and species of the subtribe Spinariina van Achterberg (2007)

    Description: Eight new species of the genus Spinaria Brullé (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Rogadinae) are described and illustrated: Spinaria altimontana spec. nov. and S. campania spec. nov. from Papua, S. australiensis spec. nov. from Australia, S. incisa spec. nov. and S. eburata spec. nov. from Philippines, S. triangulifera spec. nov. from Myanmar, S. sundana spec. nov. from West Malaysia and S. hyalinata spec. nov. from Sumatra. Three species (and two varieties) are synonymised: Spinaria fuscipennis Brullé, 1846, S. curvispina Cameron, 1902, S. curvispina var. nigricauda Enderlein, 1905, and S. curvispina var. udei Enderlein, 1905, with S. armator Fabricius, 1804, and S. bhotanensis Cameron, 1906, with S. flavipennis Cameron, 1906. A lectotype is designated for Batotheca dohrniana Enderlein, 1905, Spinaria westwoodi Cameron, 1906 and S. curvispina Cameron, 1902, to stabilize the nomenclature of the group. Three taxa are re-instated: Spinaria bicolor Szépligeti, 1902, S. philippinensis Enderlein, 1905 and S. flavipennis Cameron, 1906. For the first time a key to species of the genus Spinaria Brullé is given. A key to genera of the subtribe Spinariina van Achterberg is included and the type species (but a closely related species for Cornutorogas) of each genus is fully illustrated. Keys to the known species of the genera Spinariella Szépligeti (with S. nigrita spec. nov. from Sarawak and S. tulungi spec. nov. from Sulawesi), Batotheca Enderlein (with B. quickei spec. nov. from Australia), Conspinaria Schulz (with C. chenhei spec. nov. from China and Japan, C. olthofi spec. nov. from Papua and C. sundana spec. nov. from Malaysia) and Cornutorogas Chen et al. are also provided.

Monophadnus glaucus Enderlein, 1919; Monophadnus sumatranus Enderlein, 1919; Amonophadnus nigripennis Benson, 1935; Amonophadnus nigrojavanus Haris, 2002; Corporaalinus azureus Forsius, 1925; Corporaalinus cyanescens Forsius, 1925; and Corporaalinus jacobsoni Forsius, 1929, are proposed as new synonyms of Monophadnus rivalis Konow, 1906. An identification key is added for the known Tenthredinidae of Borneo, Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi and New Guinea.

    Description: Four new species are described from Vietnam: Pristiphora lamdongensis spec. nov., Athlophorus vietnamensis spec. nov., Heptamelus devriesi spec. nov., and Ferna lamdongensis spec. nov. They are compared to Athlophorus jacobsoni Enslin, 1912, Heptamelus ruficinctus Malaise, 1961, and Ferna cinguliventris Saini & Vasu, 1997. Results of previous expeditions are given. A detailed description of Monophadnus funebris Konow, 1898, and corrections to the previous paper are added.

    Description: An annotated facsimile of those pages of Alfred Russel Wallace\xe2\x80\x99s notebook recording his consignments from the Malay Archipelago to his London agent, Samuel Stevens, is provided. Records of individual consignments are linked with the stages of Wallace\xe2\x80\x99s and Charles Allen\xe2\x80\x99s itineraries to which they relate and are amplified from data provided by Wallace elsewhere; wherever possible, dates and places of the despatch of consignments and of the dates of their receipt in London are noted; and the dates of material becoming available for study are established, chiefly from British Museum accessions registers. It is intended that this should provide readier access to scattered collection data and should in particular assist in determining what specimens may properly be regarded as types or syntypes of the many taxa described by numerous contemporary authors from Wallace\xe2\x80\x99s material.

    Description: The species of the genus Canalicephalus Gibson, 1977, are revised and eight new species are described (three from East Malaysia (Sabah), and five from Indonesia (three from Sulawesi, one from Java and from Halmahera). The sistergenera Canalicephalus and Urosigalphus are united in a new tribe Urosigalphini and keyed, including a key to the recognized subgenera of the genus Urosigalphus Ashmead, Both extant tribes Urosigalphini nov. and Afrocampsini van Achterberg & Austin, 1992, are included the subfamily Acampsohelconinae Tobias, 1987, which up to now contains only a fossil species.

    Description: The Oriental species of the genus Halycaea Cameron are revised. Three new species of Halycaea are described and figured: H. rubata spec. nov. (Malaysia, South China (Taiwan)), H. solo spec. nov. (Malaysia) and H. sonata spec. nov. (Vietnam). H. javana (Fullaway) comb. nov. is redescribed and a key to the Oriental species of the genus Halycaea is added. The lectotype of H. erythrocephala Cameron, 1903, is designated.

    Documentation of inherited knowledge on wild edible fungi from Malyasia (2009)

    Description: The gradual loss in traditional knowledge on wild edible fungi is a common phenomenon the world over, including Malaysia. A documentation of known edible fungi in Malaysia was executed, with the objective of salvaging traditional knowledge on the identification and edibility of these mushrooms, particularly from her village communities.\nAmong those that have been successfully documented in this study were Cookeina and Galiella of the class Ascomycetes and Termitomyces, Schizophyllum, Hygrocybe, Lentinus, Calvatia, Calostoma and Auricularia, from the Basidiomycetes which make up a total of 13 or 14 species belonging to 9 genera. It is hoped that this documentation will contribute towards an updated scientific identification, including their genetic sequences in the near future.
