Beschreibung: The international consortium project Sustainable Development Pathways achieving Human well-being while safeguarding the climate And Planet Earth (SHAPE) is co-developing a set of quantitative target-seeking scenarios, the Sustainable Development Pathways (SDPs). The SDP scenarios represent alternative pathways to achieve the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement on climate change. In this report, we summarise the results of the second multi-stakeholder workshop held virtually in the week of 4th - 8th April 2022 as part of a series of SHAPE dialogue events. The focus of the workshop was put on three SDP scenarios that are currently under development by the SHAPE consortium: SDP scenario “Economy-driven Innovation”: Market actors play a key role in driving transformation through deployment of technologies and market solutions; the focus is on an efficient market economy to maximise value-added in an economically globalised world. SDP scenario “Resilient Communities”: Networks of social actors (civil society, private sector and government actors) jointly drive transformation; the focus is on behaviours that support solidarity, well-being, social cohesion and green innovation. SDP scenario “Managing the Global Commons”: Governments drive transformation, enabled by strong statehood and effective institutions for multilateralism, and strong social globalisation based on universal human values. The focus is on efficacy in reaching global goal.

Beschreibung: This report is divided into three parts. Part one introduces the project and the dialogue process. Links to the summary report of the initial SHAPE webinar and a synthesis of the questionnaire results are provided. Part two of the report covers a synthesis of the recommendations made by the stakeholders about the dimensions and scenarios. The synthesis is based on the input that we received through the workshops and also the questionnaire. For transparency, the exact transcription of the workshop results as they were written on the Miro online workboards can be found in the annex. Part three of the report provides a discussion of the workshop results and stakeholders’ recommendations about key changes to be made for the narrative development. It also addresses open issues for further stakeholder discussions and reflects on the participatory process at this stage of the SHAPE project. The report concludes with key messages for the team members of the SHAPE project, from our stakeholders and for the bigger SDG picture.

Beschreibung: This issue mapping report presents the results of the desk study. It starts out by giving an overview on the current state of research and already-identified future research needs on the knowledge of SDG interaction (trade-offs and synergies). It outlines the state of SDG coverage in integrated assessment modelling, and it identifies SDG relevant gaps in IAMs and (to some extent) multi-region Input-Output analysis. It further outlines issues that are recommended by notable reports (GSDR 2019, TWI2050, GEO-6, among others) to be pursued politically or that are prominent on current political agendas (UN, EU, national (Germany)).
