Description: Starting with the last European discourse of David Sassoli, our intention is to reflect on Europe, specifically, on the concept of European literature as a factor of political integration.

Description: Neste livro abre-se a uma diversidade de acepções que o conceito de espaço abriga nos objetos e cenários literários contemporâneos. O próprio texto como um espaço espacializante, na sua textualidade como corpo ou na visualidade da escrita, configura um espaço de linguagem. O contexto cultural e histórico envolve referências e dados situados em determinados momentos que articulam um espaço de relações com o texto literário. O espaço da institucionalização, com as representações de poder, o espaço social, o espaço como paisagem, nas configurações natural, regional, física e psicológica, e o espaço do mito com suas imagens e sentidos simbólicos, são outras formas de mobilização do conceito. O espaço pictórico, quer como elemento componente da pintura ou como a própria linguagem na composição da escritura, que se vale de técnicas plásticas, também é contemplado, assim como esse tipo de diálogo abriga outros meios e linguagens, como o cinema, a propaganda, a fotografia, nas relações entre as artes. Há também a possibilidade de se rever o objeto literário, em termos de espacialidade, sob essa perspectiva múltipla do olhar contemporâneo. Ou seja, no lugar daquele sentido restrito de categoria estrutural, o conceito incorpora uma visão ampla e metafórica, dentro da qual o próprio texto faz emergir uma concepção e função da espacialidade por meio de suas estratégias de construção. Diante de tantas possibilidades de leitura do conceito, o presente livro reúne textos que abordam aspectos da simbolização espacial em obras literárias que implicam um olhar contemporâneo para essas figurações.

Description: Cain resumes the biblical story of the genesiacs brothers to recount it in a heterodox way. Based on the canonical biblical texts, the ethical perspective of David Maria Sassoli and in ideological discourses, José Saramago (re)reads the life of the murderous brother by a desacralizing bias, establishing a process of discursive reorganization of the Bible and, consequently, of Christianity – an ideology rooted in the social thought that the writer Portuguese intends to resolve. Our proposal is to probe such ethical assumptions questioned by the novel. Thus, we will focus on the figure of the protagonist to reflect on postures, symbolic representations, narrative functions and ideological expressiveness. Let us, through our reading, decommthe kaleidoscopic clash that the skilled narrator stages to present an ethical proposal in dialogue with renewing ideals of today's society.

Description: A city forms the core of all political and philosophical projects. On one hand, a city is a place of human aspirations and pursuits; on the other, it represents a space of tension and anxiety. This dual and often paradoxical character of the city compels philosophers to constantly cogitate its current status. Philosophy is often defined as the child of the city (polis); it is thus the product of urban life. As a medium of social space and political unity, the city has become a stipulation for philosophical activity. In this sense, philosophy is not deprived of its conditions; alternatively, it is an activity that reveals itself within its prerequisite environment. The book reveals varied philosophical reflections on the city, focusing primarily on the urban crisis and debates on rights to the city. The book also attends to the city-philosophy connection in terms of language, borders, art, architecture, and meta-philosophy. The body of research on the city cannot be reduced to the sum of discourses of technical experts. Beyond this boundary, the city stands in its entirety at the heart of debates on equality, freedom, and liberation, surpassing all types of pragmatic discussion. Max Weber cites the proverb, “Stadtluft macht frei” (the urban air frees), serving as a reminder that a city is also a place of domination and freedom. In this respect, the city is the arena of all types of conflict.

Description: This book presents an original historical source, entitled “An erudite and true narration of some changes that recently took place in the Grand Duchy of Moscow,” written by the Swedish ambassador to the court in Moscow and first printed in Stockholm in 1608. In his diplomatic report, the author vividly describes the political crisis in the Moscow empire, the tragic events of the Time of Troubles and the plots surrounding the successorship to the tsarist throne which he witnessed. He also depicts events that preceded these events, interpreting them in accordance with the territorial and confessional integrity of the Swedish Kingdom. In addition to the translation of the Swedish original into Czech, the book also contains a philological and historiographical essay, which sets the author’s work into the context of Swedish literature and political context at the turn of the 16th century. Thanks to its wide range of interpretive possibilities, the text is suitable material for students of philological and historical disciplines.

Description: Kniha českému čtenáři zprostředkovává původní historický pramen „Učené a pravdivé vyprávění o některých změnách, jež se v nedávných letech udály v Moskevském velkoknížectví“, napsaný švédským vyslancem na moskevském dvoře a poprvé vydaný tiskem ve Stockholmu roku 1608. Autor ve své diplomatické zprávě barvitě líčí politickou krizi v moskevské říši, tragické události smuty a intriky kolem následnictví na carském trůnu, jejichž očitým svědkem se stal. Popisuje také předcházející události, jež interpretuje v souladu s územní i konfesní politikou Švédského království. Kniha vedle překladu švédského originálu do češtiny obsahuje též doprovodnou filologickou a historiografickou studii, zasazující autorovo dílo do kontextu švédské literatury i politických souvislostí na přelomu 16. a 17. století. Díky širokým interpretačním možnostem představuje vhodný materiál pro studium filologických i historických oborů.

Description: Este livro estuda os discursos caracterizados pela dissonância, mais especificamente, a ironia, a paródia e o riso. Foram privilegiadas as teorias de Schopenhauer, Baudelaire e Jean Paul, já que são estudos que proporcionam uma aproximação estrutural e filosófica entre os fenômenos do riso e os discursos irônicos e paródicos. Desse modo, tal qual a ironia e a paródia, esse riso é também fruto de uma dissonância, que instaura, ao invés da certeza, a possibilidade, em lugar do uníssono, o ambivalente. O estudo dos significativos pontos de contato entre a ironia, a paródia e o riso legitima a relevância do sujeito na decodificação desses discursos caracterizados pela ambigüidade. Para a sua análise a autora analisou os textos: "O homem duplicado" (2002), de José Saramago, "O cavaleiro inexistente" (1959), de Ítalo Calvino, e "O duplo" (1846), de Dostoievski. A seleção das obras guiou-se pela estrutura dissonante dessas narrativas, nas quais se encontram muitas e variadas aplicações estéticas da ironia, da paródia e do riso.

Description: Understanding civilized society encompasses the understanding of cities given that the urban environment, which is a natural reflection of settled life, shapes the civilization of a society. Moreover, cities enriched with the effects of trading functions as centers of modernization. At present, cities are exposed to the influence of different dynamics, which are a result of modern life. This influence plays an important role in the shaping of city life and identity. This study, which is entitled Cities in History with Respect to Humans and Spaces, highlights the transformation of cities throughout history and aims to examine the histories of important cities from the social, cultural, political, and economic perspectives. The study emerges as a result of a meticulous evaluation of original scientific writings in urban history and aims to contribute to research in this field. First, the paper presents an examination of the effect of football on urban identity followed by discussions on the tales of cities penned by Ottoman geographers, the transformation of cities previously dominated by wooden buildings and the impact of fires, the identity of cities under the influence of ideologies, the role of squares in the identification of cities, the role of foundations in shaping city identity, and the effects of asitane, dargah, and khanqah structures in the formation of the social identity of cities.

Günümüzde ise şehirler modern hayatın getirdiği değişik dinamiklerin etkisine maruz kalmakta, söz konusu etki şehir hayatı ve kimliğinin şekillenmesinde giderek daha fazla pay sahibi olmaktadır. Şehirlerin tarih boyunca yaşadığı dönüşümü ele alan “İnsan ve Mekan Açısından Tarihte Şehir” adlı bu çalışma, önemli şehirlerin tarihlerini sosyal, kültürel, siyasi ve ekonomik yönleriyle incelemektedir. Şehir tarihi araştırmalarına katkı sağlamayı amaçlayan bu çalışma alanında özgün bilimsel yazıların titiz bir şekilde değerlendirilmesi sonucunda meydana gelmiştir. İlk yazı futbolun şehir kimliğine etkisini incelemektedir. Description: Esta obra tem como objetivo analisar o papel que desempenhou a crítica literária na construção da cultura escrita do Oitocentos brasileiro, a partir do pressuposto de que a literatura foi a principal forma de expressão, conhecimento e reconhecimento do Brasil enquanto nação naquele período. Milena da Silveira Pereirabusca apreender em que medida o gênero, então insipiente, foi conduzido por princípios regulares e buscou definir, forjar ou mesmo inventar uma cultura escrita e uma nacionalidade brasileiras. Para a autora, a crítica literária assumiu no século 19 uma posição equivalente à de tutora dos escritores, inclusive traduzindo os anseios e projetos da sociedade, ou seja, teria pretendido ajudar a delinear as feições do literato. Boa parte do discurso crítico produzido naquele período, pontua ela, foi publicada em periódicos editados pelas sociedades literárias de São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro e por esse motivo tais textos constituem o corpus documental da obra, que dedica um capítulo específico a esses veículos. Segundo Silveira Pereira, além de grande peso como instrumento legitimador e de manutenção da prática de associar-se dos letradosdaquele tempo, os periódicos desempenharam papel importante na divulgação de seus escritos para públicos mais amplos, contribuindo assim para a consolidação da crítica literária enquanto tal e das ideias que o gênero textual procurava disseminar.

Description: Monografie romanisty Záviše Šumana je výsledkem jeho dlouhodobého studia raně novověké francouzské dramatické tvorby a dobové interpretace Aristotelovy Poetiky. Cenný je zejména jeho přístup teoreticko-metodologický, tj. zhodnocení korpusu teoretických a kritických textů o poetice tragédie v dobovém kontextu, a to s důrazem na co nejpřesnější analýzu dobových koncepcí a poukazem na to, že se teoretická řešení ne vždy shodovala s praxí. Dokladované texty francouzských originálů jsou uvedeny v paralelním postavení s (převážně) autorským překladem. Publikaci doplňuje informačně obsažný poznámkový aparát, rozsáhlá bibliografie, rejstřík a resumé v anglickém a francouzském jazyce.

Description: Manuel António Pina (Sabugal, 1943 – Porto, 2012) recebeu o Prémio Camões em 2011, entre vários outros. Licenciado em Direito pela Universidade de Coimbra, exerceu advocacia mas acabou por se decidir pelo jornalismo, que exerceu ao longo de trinta anos no Jornal de Notícias, onde aprimorou o seu estilo, em especial na crónica. Entre a sua estreia poética em livro com 〈em〉Ainda não é o fim nem o princípio do mundo calma é apenas um pouco tarde (1974) e Como se desenha uma casa (2011)〈/em〉, publicou uma dúzia de títulos de poesia, por duas vezes reunidos num só volume, primeiro na Afrontamento (1992), depois na Assírio & Alvim (2001). A sua poesia encontra- se traduzida em muitas línguas. Escreveu um único romance, 〈em〉Os papéis de K.〈/em〉 (2003). A sua obra direcionada para o público infanto-juvenil é uma das mais importantes da literatura e cultura portuguesas, composta por dezenas de títulos, entre ficções, poemas e textos dramáticos. Foi também ensaísta, destacando-se 〈em〉Aniki-Bóbó〈/em〉, já póstumo (2012).

Description: Title in English: Space and its habitation: A view of space in the works of Marie Noël, Suzanne Renaud, Christiane Singer and Sylvie Germain The publication summarizes the research results of various types of space in the literary works of four Christian inspired French authors, M. Noël, S. Renaud, C. Singer and S. Germain. Their literary texts cover the whole of the 20th century and show diversity in approaches to space, but also a difference in the literature of 1st and 2nd halves of 20th century. Methodologically, it proceeds from the phenomenological view of G. Bachelard on the intimate space of the home, through the open and sacred space according to M. Eliade's study, towards the geocritical analysis of the space, based on the almost unused B. Westphal's theory of geocriticism. The study of space shows that literature can not be separated from the outside world, on the contrary, it contributes to its better understanding.

Description: A Crónica de 1344, da autoria de Pedro de Barcelos, filho natural do rei D. Dinis de Portugal, é uma das mais emblemáticas obras da cultura ibérica do século XIV, com larga fortuna em Portugal e em Castela ao longo dos séculos seguintes. Teve, porém, uma transmissão textual atribulada – passando por uma reformulação por volta de 1400, seguida de uma abreviação e continuação pouco antes de 1460, além de sucessivas traduções para castelhano – da qual resultou uma tradição manuscrita bilingue e lacunar onde não se conta nenhum testemunho português da crónica original. Estas circunstâncias tiveram consequências na difusão editorial do texto. Apesar de a obra ter sido objecto de duas edições críticas, a sua secção final, contemplando os reinados castelhanos de Afonso X a Afonso XI, permanece inédita. De facto, Lindley Cintra publicou, entre 1954 e 1990, o texto português da reformulação c. 1400, que termina em Fernando III; quanto a Diego Catalán, deu à estampa, em 1970, a secção inicial da crónica original, radicalmente alterada pela reformulação e que subsiste apenas em tradução castelhana. Desta forma, a secção da Crónica de 1344 posterior à morte de Fernando III, cujo texto integral se conserva também apenas em castelhano, continua confinada aos manuscritos. O presente trabalho vai dar a conhecer esse relato de um passado recente, que documenta uma visão privilegiada das relações entre os reinos peninsulares nesse conturbado período da história ibérica e constitui uma peça chave no complexo entrecruzamento de textos historiográficos medievais em galego-português e em castelhano. Investigação conduzida no quadro do projecto “Pedro de Barcelos e a monarquia castelhano-leonesa: estudo e edição da secção final inédita da Crónica de 1344” (XPL/CPC-ELT/1300/2013), financiado pela FCT e pelo COMPET.

Description: O principal objetivo desse estudo é apontar, descrever e analisar as formas de transposição dos pressupostos brechtianos de teatro em O render dos heróis, de José Cardoso Pires, e Felizmente há luar! de Luís de Sttau Monteiro e mostrar a relação dessas peças com o período anterior à Revolução de 25 de Abril, especificamente na década de 1960, marcada pelos processos de aplicação da censura. A matriz brechtiana em O render dos heróis e em Felizmente há luar!, além de ser a estética responsável por uma tentativa de inovação das formas dramáticas praticadas em Portugal, também confirma a preocupação dos autores com a expressão de um posicionamento crítico perante a realidade, com os rumos da dramaturgia e com o papel do dramaturgo em seu tempo e lugar.

Description: Em 1967 foi editada em Coimbra, pela Livraria Almedina, a Teoria da Literatura, de Vítor Aguiar e Silva. Reeditada desde então, profundamente repensada a partir da 4ª edição, de 1981, editada no Brasil e traduzida para espanhol, a obra, que viria conhecer um significativo impacto no Brasil e no mundo hispânico, confunde-se com a história da disciplina introduzida nos curricula universitários portugueses com a reforma de 1957, vindo também a produzir efeitos no ensino da literatura nas escolas secundárias do país. Embora o seu autor tenha publicado depois uma série de obras de referência, quer no domínio da teoria da literatura, quer no dos estudos camonianos, dos estudos sobre o maneirismo e o barroco, ou sobre as humanidades, a Teoria da Literatura permanece a obra à qual o seu nome é de imediato associado. As Universidades de Coimbra e do Minho associaram-se, no ano de 2017, numa comemoração dos 50 anos da 1ª edição da Teoria da Literatura. As Conferências do Cinquentenário discutiram as grandes questões colocadas pelo livro e pela obra de Vítor Aguiar e Silva no domínio da Teoria da Literatura e da sua relação com as Humanidades. O presente volume reúne essas conferências, juntando-lhe duas evocações, pelo próprio Vítor Aguiar e Silva, do seu percurso académico pelas duas universidades e do lugar do livro nesse percurso.

No campo dos estudos da linguagem, atualmente, o conceito de “discurso” mostra-se complexo e multifacetado: constitui-se de um modo de produzir sentido que se materializa em diversos sistemas de signos, como a língua, as imagens, os gestos, etc. Nesta obra, investiga-se como as artes plásticas estão a serviço dos discursos, ora para reafirmá-los, ora para refutá-los. Description: Kolektivní monografie je prvním soustavnějším průzkumem vlastností českého vyprávění v průřezu žánrovým polem a několika desetiletími 19. století. Její metodologie – diachronní poetika vyprávění – odpovídá na jeden z požadavků současné naratologie: totiž respektovat historicitu narativů a interpretovat je v kontextu dobových kulturních norem a komunikační praxe. Nástroje analýzy jsou proto odvozeny od těch vlastností vyprávění, které se pro poznání jeho dějin potvrdily jako opravdu podstatné. Zaostřit na strategie ustavující vypravěčskou autoritu se tak ukázalo jako účelnější než vyjít z typologie vypravěčů. Sledovat, která postava, kdy a o čem mluví a jak se o podání událostí dělí s vypravěčem, bylo užitečnější než zaměřit se jako obvykle na přechody mezi řečovými pásmy. Stejně tak bylo vhodnější identifikovat kulturní normy jako parametry vymezující obsah popisu, který pak určuje i jeho vnitřní logiku – než rozhodovat, zda je popis statický, nebo dynamizovaný. V jednotlivých kapitolách se čtenář setká s díly prozaiků považovaných dodnes za přední reprezentanty celého období, jako jsou Božena Němcová či Alois Jirásek, ale i s tvorbou autorů, kteří zajištovali stabilní a čtenářsky vděčné zázemí literární komunikace, jako František Pravda či Prokop Chocholoušek. Provázání výkladu dovoluje předvést táž díla z různých perspektiv a zvýraznit tak spolupůsobení i kontraproduktivitu narativních způsobů.

Description: Bu kitap yaklaşık 1340-1400 yılları arasında yaşamış İngiliz Edebiyatı Ortaçağ yazarlarından Geofrey Chaucer’ın Canterbury Tales (Canterbury Masalları) adlı eserinin sekizyüzaltmış dizelik Prolog (Takdim) bölümünün , İngilizce ve Türkçe karşılıklı çevirisinden oluşmaktadır. İngiltere’de Canterbury’ye Aziz Thomas Becket’in mezarına giden otuz hacının anlatıldığı Prolog’da hem hacıların profili öyküsel şiir diliyle mizahi olarak anlatılmıştır. Geoffrey Chaucer Canterbury Masalları’nda hacıların herbirinin giderken iki, dönerken de iki öykü olmak üzere eserinde yüzyirmi (120) öyküye yer vermeyi başlangıçta tasarlamakla birlikte, bu öykülerin hepsi tamamlanamamış, sadece her karakterin Canterbury’ye hacıya gidiş yolunda kendi kişiliğine uygun olarak anlattığı bir öyküyle sınırlı kalmıştır. Eserin General Prologue adı verilen ve bu kaynakta yer alan kısmı karakterlerin ve eserin kurgusunun okuyucuya takdimi olup, iki dilli Türk okurunun beklentileri göz önüne alınarak çevrilmiştir. Bu çeviriyle Latince ve Fransızcanın edebi bir dil olarak kullanıldığı bir dönemde İngilizce yazılmış bu ilk eserin Türk okura tanıtılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu şekilde İngiliz Edebiyatının temelerini atan Geoffrey Chaucer’ın şairliği, öykücülükteki ustalığı ve ince anlayışı Türk okura tanıtılmak istenmiştir. Canterbury Masalları ile tanınan Geofrey Chaucer (1340? -1440) İngiliz Edebiyatı’nın ve günümüz İngilizcesi kadar İngiliz yazın dilinin gelişmesine öncülük etmiş bir Orta Çağ şair yazarıdır. Her ne kadar başlangıçta Fransız ve İtalyan Edebiyatı’nın etkisinde kalarak alegorik eserler verse de yaşamının son on senelik döneminde yazar olarak farklılıklardan kendisine ve İngilizlere özgü yazınsal bir kimlik oluşturmayı başarmıştır. Özellikle Canterbury Masalları’nın Prolog kısmında yer alan yaklaşık 860 dizelik Prolog bölümü okuyucunun eserin bütünü hakkında fikir edinmesini sağlayacak şekilde tasarlanmıştır. Prolog’da Canterbury’ye hacca giden toplumun farklı kesimlerindeki İngiliz karakterleri mizahi bir şekilde anlatılmakla kalmamış, bu karakterlerin sonradan anlatacakları öykülere de zemin hazırlayacak şekilde öyküsel şiir tekniğine de başvurularak yazılmıştır. Prolog’da Aziz Thomas Becket’in Canterbury’deki kabrine hacca gitmek üzere Londra’da Tabard Hanı’nda toplanan otuz hacının profilini Chaucer anlatıcı kimliğine bürünerek günümüzde bile her okura seslenecek yalın ama şiirsel bir dille aktarmıştır. Prolog Chaucer’un hicivli anlatımıyla hem toplumsal bir eleştiri örneği hem de öykü tekniği açısından İngiliz Edebiyatı’nın önde gelen örneklerindendir. Son söz olarak, ikidilli ve Türkçe’nin elverdiği ölçüde aslına sadık kalarak hazırlanan Prolog’un bu çevirisinin İngiliz Edebiyatı’nın öncüsü olarak şiir ve öykü tekniği açısından İngiliz kültürünün yalınlığını ve sessiz görünen kimliğinin altında yatan eleştirel ve mizahi yönünü Türk okuyucuya daha yakından tanıştıracağını umuyor, iyi okumalar diliyorum.

Description: Mawlawiyah, which has a history of nearly eight centuries, was institutionalised as a sufi school and has had widespread effects, in addition to pioneering the formation of one of the most influential sources in Turkish culture, art, and literature. When compared to other sufi schools, the most striking feature of Mawlawiyah is that it allocates a central place to art and literature within its institutional culture. Therefore, from the thirteenth century to the present day, the number of poets who were followers of the Mawlawiyah or Mawlawi culture in Turkish literature is more than three hundred. In addition to historical figures such as Sheikh Ghalib, who are directly identified with Mawlawiyah, the reflections of this cultural accumulation also appear in the writing experiences of authors who are not directly affiliated with Mawlawi culture, such as Halide Edib Adıvar and Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, due to their interest in the culture. In recent years, parallel to the increasing interest in Mawlana, Mawlawiyah, and Sheikh Ghalib around the world as the culture industry put mysticism on its agenda , new dimensions have been added to the subject. Some of the studies in this book, which are composed within the framework of these new dimensions, focus on the classical period and Mawlana’s personality, works, life, new research on Mawlawiyah, and well-known written sources on these issues. In the studies dealing with the modern period, the images of Mawlana and Mawlawiyah are analysed in different fields, from poetry to novels and socioeconomic dimensions of mysticism today. In this context, Mevlüt İlhan and Ermiş Dandan, in their article titled “Osman Fevzi Olcay’s Muhtasar Menâkıb-ı Mevlânâ”, present information about Muhtasar Menâkıb-ı Mevlânâ of Osman Fevzi Olcay, who has produced many historical works, and then include the text of his work. Özlem Düzlü, in “Mawlawis in Keçecizâde Izzet Molla’s Writings”, evaluates a stanza that was devoted to the members of the Mawlawiyah by Izzet Molla, who has added a couplet about Mawlana or Mawlawiyah at the end of almost every ghazal in his diwan called Bahâr-ı Efkâr and wrote many poems about Mawlana, Mawlawi elders, and Mawlawiyah. Pointing out that in the poem, which consists of eighteen couplets with the redif “Mawlawi”, the positive characteristics of the Mawlawis are generally mentioned, Düzlü also observes that İzzet Molla further emphasises the existence of people who could be the target of criticism from within or outside the sect due to their negative behaviours. Focusing on the history of literature in their article “Dr. Rıza Nur’s Studies on Jalâl al-Dîn Muhammed Rûmî, Sultan Veled, and Sheikh Ghalib’s Poems”, Yasemin Karakuş and Ömer Arslan draw attention to the revealing of Rıza Nur’s Evolution of Turkish Poetry History and Its Analytical Study, which has not been known until today, within the framework of the content of Nur’s work, then discuss how Mawlana, Sultan Veled, and Sheikh Ghalib’s poems and literary personalities were examined by Dr. Rıza Nur. In one of the two studies dealing with Mawlawiyah and Mawlana in modern Turkish poetry, Ahmet Murat Özel finds that a strong representation does not occur in modern literature, despite the founding role of Mawlana and Mawlawiyah in classical literature. Özel, who attributes this to the lack of attention paid to tradition by modern poets, evaluates the representation of Mawlana and Mawlawiyah in modern Turkish poetry as an “emotional fidelity but a poetic farewell”. Sevim Güldürmez, on the other hand, concentrates on the works of many different authors in her article, which deals with the various forms of appearance of Mawlana in modern Turkish poetry. Güldürmez, claiming that each poet constructs their own Mawlana image, analyses the existence of Mawlana in modern Turkish poetry from a different framework apart from the fact of establishing a relationship with tradition. In parallel with Güldürmez, Derya Güllük also examines the variations in the aspects of Mawlana and Mawlawiyah in Turkish novels. According to Güllük’s article, the representation of Mawlana as a historical figure and the Mawlawi culture created by his followers over the centuries in Turkish novels differs in line with the personal selectivity of the novelists and their issues, and fiction writers construct their own Mawlana image. Muhammet Salman and Resul Kırmızıdemir focus on İhsan Oktay Anar’s novel Suskunlar. Salman and Kırmızıdemir offer an alternative reading suggestion for this novel through the way Mawlawiyah is perceived within the journey of the novel character Eflâtun representing mystical self-fulfilment, by a deconstructive approach to the understanding of the truth is distorted in a postmodern situation; however, they point out that this deconstruction has also the potential to help reach the truth, not nihilism. The position of Mawlawi whirling ceremonies, one of the first symbols that come to mind when Mawlawiyah is mentioned in today’s socioeconomic practices of mysticism, is among the issues discussed in the book. Seda Aksüt points out the danger posed to the whirling ceremonies by decontextualization, which is one of the risk factors that threatens the authenticity of this cultural heritage, and makes suggestions for building an effective awareness of conservation.

Nitekim diğer tasavvuf ekolleriyle karşılaştırıldığında Mevleviliğin göze çarpan başlıca özelliği, kurumsal kültürü içerisinde sanat ve edebiyata oldukça merkezî bir yer ayırmasıdır. Nitekim on üçüncü yüzyıldan günümüze Türk edebiyatında Mevlevilik müntesibi veya Mevlevi kültürüyle yetişmiş şairlerin sayısı bugün tespit edilebildiği kadarıyla üç yüzden fazladır. Diğer yandan, Halide Edib Adıvar ve Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar gibi kendileri doğrudan Mevleviliğe bağlı olmasalar da Mevlevi kültürüne ve Şeyh Galip gibi Mevlevilikle özdeşleşmiş tarihsel figürlere duydukları ilgi dolayımında farklı kalemlerin yazı tecrübelerinde de söz konusu birikimin yansımaları karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Son yıllarda dünya genelinde Mevlana, Mevlevilik ve Şeyh Galip’e yönelik artan ilgiye paralel olarak kültür endüstrisinin dinamiklerinin devreye girmesiyle birlikte konuya yeni boyutlar da eklenmiş oldu. Bu noktalardan hareketle derlenen elinizdeki kitapta yer alan çalışmalardan bazıları klasik döneme odaklanarak Mevlana’nın kişiliği, eserleri, hayatı ile Mevlevilik hakkındaki bazı yeni araştırmaları ve bu konulardaki kimi kaynakları ele almaktadır. Modern dönemi konu edinen incelemelerde ise şiirden romana ve kültür endüstrisine farklı alanlarda Mevlana ve Mevleviliğin görünüm biçimleri tahlil edilmektedir. Modern Türk şiirinde Mevlevilik ve Mevlana’yı ele alan iki çalışmadan birinde Ahmet Murat Özel, Mevlana ve Mevleviliğin klasik edebiyattaki kurucu rolüne karşın modern edebiyatta böyle bir güçlü temsilin oluşmadığını tespit ediyor. Bu durumu, modern şairlerde geleneğe karşı yeterli dikkatin oluşmamış olmasına bağlayan Özel, Mevlana ve Mevleviliğin modern Türk şiirindeki temsilini “duygusal bir vefa ama poetik bir veda” olarak değerlendirmektedir. Sevim Güldürmez ise modern Türk şiirinde Mevlana’nın çeşitli görünüm biçimlerini ele alan yazısında birçok farklı kalemin eserlerini mercek altına alıyor. Güldürmez, her şairin kendi Mevlana’sını inşa ettiğini ileri sürerek, Mevlana’nın modern Türk şiiri içerisindeki varlığını gelenekle ilişki kurma olgusunun dışında farklı bir çerçeveden hareketle tahlil etmektedir. Güldürmez’e paralel olarak Derya Güllük de Türk romanında Mevlana ve Mevleviliğin görünümlerindeki çeşitlenmeleri irdeliyor. Güllük’ün makalesine göre, tarihsel bir figür olarak Mevlana’nın ve onun takipçileri tarafından yüzyıllar içerisinde oluşturulan Mevlevi kültürünün Türk romanındaki temsili, roman yazarlarının kişisel seçicilikleri ve kendi meseleleri doğrultusunda farklılaşmakta, kurmaca yazarları da kendi Mevlana’larını inşa etmektedir. Muhammet Salman ve Resul Kırmızıdemir İhsan Oktay Anar’ın Suskunlar romanına yoğunlaştıkları çalışmalarında, roman karakteri Eflâtun’un seyrisülûku temsil eden yolculuğu etrafında, bir taraftan postmodern durumla uyumlu biçimde hakikat anlayışlarına karşı dekonstrüktif bir yaklaşım ortaya konulduğunu, ancak diğer taraftan da bu dekonstrüksiyonun nihilizme değil, hakikate ulaşmaya yardımcı olacak potansiyelde olduğuna dikkat çekerek, Mevleviliğin alımlanma biçimi üzerinden Suskunlar’a dair alternatif bir okuma önerisi sunmaktadır. Mevlevilik denilince akla ilk gelen simgelerden biri olan semâ törenlerinin günümüz kültür endüstrisindeki konumu da kitapta ele alınan meseleler arasında. Seda Aksüt, semâ törenlerinin karşı karşıya olduğu bir tehlikeye, bu kültürel mirasın otantikliğini tehdit eder hâle gelen risk faktörlerinden biri olan bağlamından koparmaya işaret ederek etkili bir koruma bilincinin inşa edilmesi adına önerilerde bulunuyor.

Description: This volume titled “The City: Literary Encounters” aims to examine the relationship of the city with language and literature from different perspectives and to present examples of related literary works to the readers. In this book, besides the works that directly focus on cities, there are also wide-ranging scientific studies that address the use of the image of the city in literature. The fact that literature focuses on the image of the city has often turned cities into protagonists of a novel or a poem. Considering the importance of cities in the art of literature, it is not possible to think independently Crime and Punishment from St. Petersburg, A Mind at Peace from Istanbul, and The Miserables from Paris. Although the experience of the city that people have lived in the last centuries has been the subject of every art and discipline, it has become one of the subjects mostly studied by literature. The works in this volume also show that literature has transformed into a language environment which enable cities that literature deals with as a subject to speak, in other words, the language of the city. In this book, which focuses on language studies as well as literary ones, the world’s different cities and cultures are examined through the image and the language diversity of the city. This work, based on both literary and philological contexts, deals with different experiences in the world with various examples and aims to analyze the language of the city. In this book, which is the product of a collective effort, qualified discussions are carried out on subjects such as how the city is described and read in different geographies, different literary traditions, and different literary discourses, and how the city directs the literary production.

Description: O percurso da indianidade na literatura brasileira: matizes da figuração faz uma viagem pela Literatura Brasileira em busca da imagem do índio em seus diversos matizes. Dezoito obras são analisadas pela perspectiva da figuração, que define a presença do nativo brasileiro pela linguagem e a colore de acordo com a época e com as estratégias de cada autor. O percurso se estende da Carta de Achamento, de Pero Vaz de Caminha, até a publicação de Maíra (1976), de Darcy Ribeiro. As análises consideram as diferentes convenções ideológicas e de estilo dos vários movimentos culturais, que promovem o diálogo entre o indianismo e o indigenismo literário brasileiro. O propósito didático consiste em subsidiar os leitores por meio de um roteiro de leitura, que abriga o pensamento científico, conjugado com a presença de trechos das obras, elementos relevantes para a compreensão do universo representativo literário.

Description: É a partir de uma perspectiva de "dupla revisão" que Vozes femininas da poesia latino-americana: Cecília e as poetisas uruguaias ressalta um outro perfil da escritora brasileira Cecília Meireles: a de grande estudiosa e conhecedora da produção de autoria feminina latino-americana. O livro tem como ponto de partida o ensaio ceciliano intitulado "Expressão feminina da poesia na América", que corresponde a uma conferência proferida no ano de 1956, na Universidade do Brasil, e que apresenta um panorama da expressão lírica feminina na América hispânica. As poetisas mencionadas por Cecília Meireles em seu texto, embora desempenhem um importante papel no cenário da produção poética de seus respectivos países, nem sempre integram a historiografia tradicional canônica; injustiça que o ensaio ceciliano corrige. Para mostrar a importância desse texto ceciliano em relação aos estudos feministas na América Latina são realizados alguns comentários sobre a crítica literária feminista, bem como acerca da vasta produção da autora de Romanceiro da Inconfidência. Além disso, estabelece-se um diálogo entre a escritora brasileira e as poetisas hispano-americanas. O livro demonstra o comprometimento de Cecília Meireles com a escrita feminina no contexto sóciocultural latino-americano.
