    Description: Acta Slavica Estonica is an international series of publications on current issues of Russian and other Slavic languages, literatures and cultures. The first part of the book contains chapters about the general history of school textbooks for reading and the story of the heritage of two authors (Vyazemsky and Fet) in them. The second part of the book presents chapters on various Russian poets (Batyushkov, Zhukovsky, Pushkin, Koltsov, Tyutchev, Maikov) whose poems found a firm place in the reading materials for schools. The chapters of the monograph give an idea of different aspects of the history of these texts and their reception. The monograph has two supplements. In the first there is a list of 108 textbooks and books of reading which are all included in the unique data base accessible in the Internet (www.ruthenia.ru/canon). The second supplement offers a list of the most popular authors and their texts included in the textbooks of the 19th century.

    Description: Acta Slavica Estonica is an international series of publications on current issues of Russian and other Slavic languages, literatures and cultures. This issue of the subseries “Blokovskii sbornik” continues the series of studies started by Zara Mints in 1964. The majority of works from Section I of the book, “The Art of А. Blok in the Context of 19th–20th Century Literature,” is devoted to the study of the poet’s works, his perceptions of preceding writers’ works, and his biographical and artistic contacts with contemporaries. The articles in Section II, “Silver Age Literature: Creative and Social Strategies,” are mainly focused on artistic works and essays of modernist literati contemporary to Blok or to some extent resonating with his poetry and artistic worldview.

    Description: The aim of the methodology is to give an understanding of elder abuse, typologies, manifestations, risks of occurrence and procedures for detection and solution. The methodology helps those who regularly come into contact with older people to put knowledge about elder abuse into practice. This can be anyone who is not, or should not be, indifferent to seeing an older person treated inappropriately. The methodology is primarily intended for people working in support services, with recommendations for other relevant actors such as general practitioners and specialists, the police, the social services of local authorities, etc. However, it can also be used by interested members of the public and by non-profit organisations, which also have an essential role to play in dealing with this phenomenon. The procedures and recommendations presented here are based on the research activities of the RESTABUS project, which draw on the findings of other research teams from all over the world and from a wide range of scientific disciplines, as well as on many years of experience in working with older people.

    Description: Aquest estudi sobre la presó franquista de postguerra es basa en les duescentes quaranta cartes que Daniel Vilaró Rius va escriure a la seva família entre juliol del 1939 i agost del 1943 des de tres presons i, per tant, presenta el règim penitenciari viscut des de dins. En aquestes cartes trobem en primera persona l’impacte psicològic de la derrota, dels judicis sumaríssims i de l’empresonament, la por i la incertesa de cada dia, la penúria, la privació emocional de l’allunyament de la família, la frustració de no poder exercir cap rol familiar. Alhora, la voluntat de sobreviure física i moralment, que va ser una voluntat política, i els mecanismes i estratègies que van fer que molts ho aconseguissin, des de l’ajut de fora i la solidaritat a dins, fins a la capacitat de cadascú per mantenir alguna il·lusió i la fe en el futur.

    Description: In the stem-derivational perfective-imperfective opposition of Slavic the role of prefixes and suffixes has to be assessed jointly. The article evaluates the diachronic backdrop and parameters appropriate for classificatory categories. Special attention is paid to the criteria applied by aspectologists to determine aspect pairs and to aspect triplets. The assessment ends up with a paradox resulting from Maslov’s criteria of ‘trivial pairednessʼ, which require not only identical lexical meaning, but an ontology for which telic events are the sole basis in the derivation of aspect pairs.

    Description: Geçmişte yaşanan iklim değişikliklerinin nedenlerinin ve etkilerinin anlaşılması, insanoğlunun gelecekte karşılaşacağı çevresel değişiklikleri önceden tahmin etmesi ve önlemler alması açısından önem arz etmektedir. İnsanın yeryüzündeki varlık süresince, yani Kuvaterner’de yaşanan iklim değişiklikleri, buzul ve buzularası çağlarının yaşanmasına yol açarak, yer küreyi ve üzerinde yaşayan canlıların hayatını şekillendirmiştir. Ülkemiz de Kuvaterner buzullaşmalarının etkisinde kalmış ve Anadolu’nun farklı bölgelerindeki yüksek alanlarda gelişen buzulların bazıları günümüze kadar ulaşmıştır. İklim değişikliği etkisiyle ortadan kalkan buzulların oluşturduğu yer şekilleri ise çoğu sahada korunmuştur. Anadolu’daki buzullaşmalar ve bunlara ait yer şekilleri araştırmacılar tarafından sıklıkla çalışılmış olmakla birlikte morfometrik analizler sınırlı sayıda araştırmada uygulanabilmiştir. Buzul morfometrisi konusunda yeni yöntem ve yaklaşımlar son buzul çağının etkilerini daha net anlaşılmamıza imkân tanımaktadır. Bu araştırma kitabı ile Batı Torosların doğu ucunda yer alan ve daha önce literatürde geçmeyen Kuvaterner buzullaşmalarının izlerinin yaygın bir şekilde gördüğümüz Kuşak Dağı’nın jeomorfolojik özelliklerini arazi çalışmaları ve İHA verileri kullanarak haritalamak, ayrıca morfometrik analizlerle Kuşak Dağı ve Batı Toroslar hakkında paleoiklimsel değerlendirmelerde bulunmak hedeflenmiştir. Yine bu kitapta buzul jeomorfolojisi konusunda yeni yöntem ve yaklaşımlar ayrıntılı açıklanmaya çalışılarak bu konularda çalışacak genç araştırmacılar için Türkçe kaynak kitabı olması amaçlanmıştır.

    Description: Russian-language edition: In Russia and America a perceived absence of literature gave rise to grandiose notions of literature's importance. This book examines how two traditions worked to refigure cultural lack, not by disputing it but by insisting on it, by representing the nation's (putative) cultural deficit as a moral and aesthetic advantage. Through a comparative study of Gogol and Hawthorne, this book examines parallels that seem particularly striking when we consider that these traditions had virtually no points of contact. Yet the unexpected parallels between these authors are the result of historical similarities: Russians and Americans felt obliged to develop a manifestly national literature ex nihilo, and to do so in an age when an unprecedented diversity of printed texts were circulating among an ever more heterogeneous reading public. Responding to these conditions, Gogol and Hawthorne articulated ideas that would prove influential for their nations' literary development: that is, despite the culture's thinness and deviation from European norms, it would soon produce works that would surpass European literature in significance.

    Description: Göl, akarsu ve denizler yüzyılları aşan süreden beri çoğunluğu insan kaynaklı olmak üzere çeşitli kirleticilerin baskısı altında bulunmaktadırlar. Özellikle endüstriyel üretimin hız kazandığı 1900’lü yılların ortalarından itibaren bu baskılar daha da artmış birçok su kaynağı kullanılamaz hale gelmiştir. Su kalitesindeki bozulmalar ve iklimsel değişim nedeniyle çok sayıda tür ortadan kalkmış, ya da tükenme noktasına gelmiştir. Ülkemizde de benzer çevresel sorunlar 1950’li yıllardan itibaren görülmeye başlanmıştır. Başta sanayi üretiminin büyük bir kısmının gerçekleştiği Marmara Bölgesindeki deniz ve içsu kaynakları olmak üzere birçok su kaynağı sanayi atıkları, evsel atıklar ve tarımsal kirleticiler ile baş başa bırakılmıştır. Söz konusu kirleticiler nedeniyle en büyük su kalitesi kaybına uğrayan alanların başında ise Marmara Denizi gelmektedir. Marmara Denizi havzası başta ülkemizin en büyük şehri olan İstanbul olmak üzere en büyük şehirlerini barındıran bir iç deniz konumundadır. Göreceli olarak küçük bir alan olmasına rağmen havzada ülke nüfusunun yaklaşık 1/3’ü yaşamaktadır. Havzadaki aşırı nüfus artışı ve kontrolsüz yapılaşma özellikle Marmara Denizi üzerinde büyük bir baskı oluşturmuştur. Uzun yıllar süresince arıtılmadan ya da sadece ön arıtıma tabi tutularak Marmara Denizine verilen atıklar denizin taşıma kapasitesini aşmış, bu nedenle denizde yaşayan birçok canlı türü tamamen ortadan kaybolmuştur. Hatta aşırı kirlenme nedeniyle Marmara Denizi’nin “Doğu Körfez” bölümü uzun yılardan beri balıkçılığa kapatılmıştır. Son zamanlarda Marmara Denizinde ortaya çıkan en önemli ekolojik sorunlardan bir tanesi de yaklaşık 6 ay süren müsilaj artışıdır. Müsilaj Ocak 2021 de başlayıp Haziran 2021’e kadar devam etmiştir. Müsilaj artışının 6 ay gibi uzun bir süre devam etmesi, büyük bir alanda habitat kayıpları yaratması, ekolojik tahribat kadar ekonomik kayıplara neden olması, balıkçılık dahil birçok ekosistem hizmetlerini etkilemesi nedeniyle dünya literatürüne girmiştir. İstanbul Üniversitesi olarak böylesine önemli ekolojik sorunu detaylı bir şekilde araştırmak, sonuçlarını ortaya koymanın gerekliliğine inanarak sadece Marmara Denizi’nde ortaya çıkan müsilaj sorunu ile ilgili çalışmaların yer aldığı 13 bölümden oluşan kitap yayınlamaya karar verdik. Deniz araştırmaları konusunda yaklaşık 80 yıllık deneyime sahip İstanbul Üniversitesinin yayınladığı bu eserin deniz bilimcilere ve karar vericilere başucu kaynağı olmasını diliyoruz.

    Description: Title in English: Prediction of potential locations for water-retention dams in landscape based on re-utilisation of defunct relics of water-management buildings: Certified methodology This certified methodology shows the steps to be taken by contractors and builders of small water reservoirs with a special focus on preserving and archiving cultural value of historic landscape and its evolution. The methodology describes how to find and use defunct relics of historical waterdams in modern constructions (water retention dams), from identification in the landscape, through incorporation into the project documentation of the dam construction, to basic protection during the building process itself. State legislature on historic landscape is also mentioned. Re-utilisation of historic waterdams allows for their conservation for future generations and points at features of the historic dams at risk of destruction, and which need archaeological attention during the construction works (especially the historical drainage outlet). This methodology is praxis driven, as it is actively using knowledge gained through close co-operation with contractors and builders, and reflects their needs during construction.

    Description: This article explores the diplomatic correspondence sent to the Doge of Venice by Peter I (1721) and by his daughter Empress Elizabeth I (1743), informing him of peace treaties that had recently been concluded between Russia and Sweden. Analyzing these letters in the context of Russia’s diplomatic and epistolary relations with Venice in the 17th and 18th centuries, we examine their structure and composition with particular attention to the presence of diplomatic and epistolary formulae to identify evolutionary changes in the diplomatic and epistolary etiquette employed by Peter I and his successors.

This publication presents an empirical research of pronunciation mistakes of Czech students learning German as a second foreign language at elementary school. The aim of the research was to verify the extent of the students’ pronunciation difficulties with German pronunciation phenomena error-prone for Czech native speakers. The research determined in what way these errors manifest themselves in the transfer from the students’ previously acquired languages, i.e. their mother tongue (Czech) and the first foreign language learnt (English). Within the theoretical foundation, the focus is put on different concepts of pronunciation in terms of foreign language teaching objectives, definitions of language errors and their causes, the development of the German pronunciation standard and methodological approaches to error analysis.

    Description: El orden del día de las agendas de los estudiosos de la alimentación está repleto de fenómenos que, formando parte de procesos históricos más amplios, deben ser tratados desde el conocimiento de las diferencias culturales, de las diversas formas de desigualdad social y de las implicaciones sociales, económicas y políticas que la comida tiene para la salud humana, el entorno y las sociedades. La producción, distribución y consumo de alimentos implica numerosos ámbitos y agentes en cualquier lugar y nos llevan desde las actividades agrícolas hasta el procesamiento de los alimentos, desde el restaurante o el comedor escolar al hogar, desde el individuo al grupo social; intervienen, a su vez, en el proceso de salud/enfermedad/atención. A pesar de la abundancia aparente, el sistema de producción alimentaria actual no asegura las necesidades básicas entre las personas, ni el reparto equitativo de los alimentos, ni la capacidad regenerativa de los recursos utilizados ni tampoco la preservación de la diversidad biocultural. Tampoco favorece la confianza en los alimentos producidos, ni el deseo tan humano como legítimo de querer preservar y mejorar la calidad de vida.

We need the cooperation of scientists and philosophers from all disciplines in order to seek and find paths out of these crises. Turkey is at an advantageous if not a central position in forging such a cooperation. We are at the eastern end of the West, western end of the East, and located between the North and the South as well. This book is the outcome of a project titled Imagining a Common Horizon for Humanity and the Planet undertaken by Cappadocia University. In it, you will find chapters by distinguished scholars and philosophers from a multitude of countries, cultural backgrounds and disciplines. We hope the knowledge and the wisdom accmnulated via this project and presented between the covers of this book will provide one more step in reaching an actionable cornmon horizon and contribute to a safer and better world for our children.

Церковнославянский перевод был создан около середины ХIV в. в одном из центров среднеболгарской письменности и пользовался большой популярностью по всей «Slavia orthodoxa», о которой свидетельствуют более 200 рукописей. Большая часть настоящего тома посвещена истории славянского перевода и его рукописной истории. Потом следует критическое издание предисловий и первой книги с греческим параллельным текстом и немецким переводом.

    Description: Ausias March (1400-1459) lebte in einer Zeit der Umbrüche: Die letzten Gewissheiten des Mittelalters machten dem Geist der frühen Neuzeit Platz; das Bürgertum beginnt dem Adel ernsthaft Konkurrenz zu machen und die Ideale der hohen Minne der okzitanischen Trobadore geraten ins Schwanken Zugleich bricht König Alfons V. von Aragonien nach Italien auf, um dort König von Neapel zu werden und so die Königreiche der Aragonesischen Krone in Personalunion mit dem italienischen Süden zu verbinden. Der daraus resultierende rege kulturelle Austausch bringt die Ideen und Moden der italienischen Renaissance auch nach Valencia, der damals größten Stadt der iberischen Halbinsel. Es folgt das segle d'or de les lletres valencianes - das "goldene Jahrhundert der valencianischen Literatur", das als Vorläufer des darauffolgenden Siglo de oro der kastilischen Literatur gesehen werden kann. Im Bereich der Lyrik ist Ausias March zweifellos der wichtigste Repräsentant dieses Goldenen Zeitalters. Die vorliegende Anthologie führt ein in Leben und Werk und präsentiert 30 ausgewählte Gedichte im katalanischen Original und in einer metrischen deutschen Übersetzung.

The introduction discusses various theories of writing and the development of graphomotor skills and writing. In the final chapter, the authors present an original approach to diagnosing graphomotor disabilities based on an objective analysis of online handwriting.     Description: Uzun yıllardır uygulanan liberal-kapitalist yönetişim modeli, bireyselleşmeyi ve piyasayı egemen kılıp, özel sektörü büyüterek, devleti ve hizmetlerini sınırlandırarak varlığını bugüne kadar sürdürdü. Ancak COVID-19 krizi ile birlikte bu ekonomik sistemin nasıl bir sonuç doğurduğuna hep birlikte şahit olduk. Dünyanın en büyük ekonomilerine sahip ülkelerin salgınla mücadelede ihtiyaç duyulan en temel koruma malzemelerini sağlamakta aciz duruma düşmesi, hastaları seçerek tedaviye almaları ve diğerlerini ölüme terk etmeleri, ölen insanlarını taşıyacak tabutları ve gömecek yerlerinin olmaması mevcut sistemlerin ne kadar insani olduğu sorununu somut bir şekilde ortaya çıkardı. Uluslararası rekabette en başarılı ülkeler, üstünlük sağlayan sektörlere ve üretime odaklanarak ekonomik gelişme stratejilerini bugüne kadar sürdürdüler. Ancak uzun tedarik zincirlerine ve küreselleşmeye dayalı bu yapı çökerken, katı sınırlar ve ulusal üretimlerle bu boşluğu doldurma arayışı ön plana çıktı. Ekonomiyle birlikte fonksiyonları zayıflayan, hizmet alan ve kapasitesi kısıtlanan devlet aygıtı ve yapısı, yaşanan salgınla birlikte büyük bir krizle karşı karşıya kaldı. COVID-19 salgınıyla birlikte ekonomik gelişmelere rağmen, sağlık hizmetlerinin ve tarımsal üretimin acil hallerde yarattığı etkilerinin insanlığı tehdit edecek boyutlara nasıl ulaştığını yaşayarak tecrübe ettik. Salgın ile birlikte tarımsal üretim başta olmak üzere temel ihtiyaçları karşılayacak üretimi yapabilmenin önemini bir kez daha anladık. Maske, solunum cihazı, ilaç ve aşı gibi halk sağlığı alanlarında üretim ve hizmetleri sunmanın ne kadar önemli olduğunun bilincine vardık. Üretimlerin stratejik öneminin dönemsel ve ihtiyaçlara göre değişebildiği gerçeğini bir kez daha yaşadık ve paramız olsa da bazı ürünleri ve hizmetleri satın alamayacağımızı gördük. Salgın, küresel düzeyde neredeyse hepimizi ruhsal, fiziksel ve sosyal açıdan eşitleyerek; sağlık, eğitim, gelir eşitsizliği, yoksulluk, işsizlik, göç, iklim krizi, temel insan ihtiyaçlarına erişim dahil her alanda yeni farkındalıklar oluşturdu. Salgın, bir yönüyle bencilliği besledi, dayanışmayı azalttı, yalnızlığa, biyolojik olduğu kadar psikolojik sorunlara ve bilgi kirliliğine yol açtı, ölüm korkusunu bireysel olmaktan çıkarıp, toplumsallaştırdı. Diğer yönüyle de dayanışma ihtiyacını artırdı ve ortak kader duygusunu güçlendirdi. Bu nedenle sosyal uyumu esas alan bir anlayışa olan ihtiyacımız daha fazla önem kazandı. Bundan dolayı toplumsal savrulmayı önleyecek ve panik yaşanmasına fırsat vermeyecek yapılanmaya ihtiyacımız arttı. 1980 sonrasında neoliberal rüzgârların etkisiyle yapılan özelleştirmelerle Türkiye’de de devlet nispeten küçültüldü, ekonomik ve sosyal sorunların yaşandığı bir dönemde küresel salgınla karşılaşıldı. Ancak genel sağlık sigortası, hastane sayısı, yatak kapasitesi gibi alanlarda sahip olduğumuz potansiyel ve kriz yönetme becerimiz sayesinde süreci nispeten daha iyi şartlarda geçirmekteyiz. Fakat bu gerçeğe rağmen ülkemizin de yeni şartlara adapte olmasını sağlayacak, krizi en az zararla atlatacak ve 21. yüzyılın ihtiyaçlarını karşılayacak yeniden yapılanmaya ihtiyacı artmaktadır. Ekonomik ve sosyal alanda yaşananlar yeni bir paradigma değişikliğine ihtiyaç olduğunu gösteriyor. Çünkü doyumsuzluğu ve obeziteyi besleyen sınırsız ihtiyaçlar algısı yerine, ihtiyaçların sınırlı olduğu ve isteklerin sınırlandırılabileceğini esas alan, bilgi hariç kaynakların sınırlı olduğu ilkesine dayalı yeni bir ekonomik düzeni inşa edecek bir paradigma değişikliğine yönelik beklenti artıyor. Kriz sürecini en az zararla atlatabilmek için hep birlikte dayanışma içinde mücadele ederek, küresel düzeyde yükselen işkollarını ve meslekleri esas alarak, endüstrileri ve iş piyasalarını yeniden yapılandırmak gerekiyor. Bu kitabın editörlüğünü üstelenen, yazar olarak katkıda bulunan ve hazırlanmasında görev alan fakültemizin çok kıymetli hocalarına bu vesileyle bir kez daha çok teşekkür ediyorum. 84 yıllık birikimimize uygun bir şekilde dünyada ve ülkemizde yaşanan ve yaşanacak sorunlara öğretim üyelerimiz kayıtsız kalmamış, var olan zor şartlara rağmen alternatifler üreterek, yol gösterici öngörülerde bulunmuşlardır. Hiç kuşkusuz bu kitap ön çalışma niteliğindedir, verilere ulaşıldıkça detaylandırılacaktır. Ufuk açıcı ve faydalı olması dileğiyle saygılar sunuyorum.

    Description: How the Steel Was Tempered in East Asia. Nikolai Ostrovsky’s novel How Steel Was Tempered (1932-34) tells the story of a young Ukrainian man named Pavel Korchagin who sacrifices his life and body to forge a steel-like spirit amid revolution, civil war, and postwar socialist construction. Although his physical injuries, which left him paralyzed and even blind, looks somehow grotesque, but his heroic self-sacrifice also had the power to inspire young readers. Regarded as an exemplary work of Soviet socialist realism, it was translated into many languages and read avidly at one time by left-wing readers in the West as well as in the Communist countries in the East. It was particularly influential in China, where it is so popular that even today it is invariably named as one of the favorite books of university students. This is in contrast to post-Soviet Russia today, in which the novel has lost the privileged position it once enjoyed and is no longer widely read. In China under the socialist regime, Ostrovsky’s novel was published in large numbers as suitable reading for young people and incorporated into school education. However, their active introduction in the public sphere alone does not explain their popularity. Chinese readers seem to have become deeply emotionally involved in the protagonist’s unsuccessful love affair with Tonya, a young girl whose bourgeois gestures and characterization must have been considered negative. As a result, the Soviet ideological novel has brought an unexpected meaning of European-style romantic love for Chinese readers. This presentation will trace the reception of Ostrovsky’s novel and the changes in the heroine Tonya’s image by comparing five adaptations: two Soviet films in 1942 and 1957, a Chinese lianhuanhua (serial picture book) in 1972, a Japanese manga in 1975, and a Chinese TV drama in 1999.

It aims to create an interconnected system for developing geoinformation skills in teaching in lower and upper secondary schools, emphasizing the implementation of GIS tools and proposing principles for the development of geoinformation skills in teaching. For this purpose, a matrix of learning tasks is created, arranged according to individual geoinformation skills – reading, selection, use, creation, and sharing. The monograph is intended mainly for pre-service and in-service geography teachers at lower and upper secondary schools, the leaders of school educational programmes, and teachers in non-formal education.     Description: Title in English: Methodological publication of work with inclusive classroom with the focus on pupils with physical disability: Methodical Manual Publication is one of the outputs of the project Quality Inclusive Education of Pupils with Special Education Needs at elementary and secondary school. This text focuses on teaching pupils with physical disabilities in an inclusive classroom. The text is divided into three chapters, the first one defines theoretical background. Described is physical disability with an emphasis on cerebral palsy together with the specifics of the target group of pupils. Part of the chapter also defines special pedagogical diagnostics. The second chapter focuses on the education of pupil with cerebral palsy in inclusive school. In the third chapter are presented results of the research part of the project with special education needs – with physical disabilities with the focus on cerebral palsy.

Akıllı sağlık, bireylerin sağlıkları ile ilgili farkındalıklarını ve yaşam kalitesini artırmayı hedefleyen, sağlık verisinin analiz edilmesiyle sağlık hizmetlerini iyileştirmeye yönelik yaklaşımların bütünüdür. Bilişim ve iletişim teknolojilerinin kullanılmasının ortaya çıkardığı düşünce tarzı, anlayış ve kavrayışın neticesi olarak akıllı sağlık, sağlığın dijital dönüşümünün bir sonraki aşamasını oluşturmaktadır. T.C. Sağlık Bakanlığı tarafından 2013-2017 stratejik planında yer alan ve 2015 yılındaki Sağlıkta Dönüşüm Projesi kapsamında kurulan Ulusal Sağlık Sistemine entegre edilen dijitalleşme ile e-Sağlık bileşenleri hayata geçirilmeye başlanmıştır. Ağustos 2021 tarihinde 11. Kalkınma Planı ile Cumhurbaşkanlığı Yıllık Programları doğrultusunda, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Dijital Dönüşüm Ofisi tarafından Ulusal Yapay Zekâ Stratejisi yayınlanmıştır. Raporda belirlenen stratejik öncelikler arasında vurgulandığı üzere, dönem sonu 2025 yılında yapay zekânın gayrisafi yurtiçi hasılaya katkısının %5’e yükseltilmesi hedeflenmektedir. 21. yüzyıl ülkelerinin refah düzeyini bilgiye ulaşma, bilgiyi işleme ve bilgiyi kullanma düzeyi belirlemektedir. Ancak gelecek yönelimlerinde, kompleks niteliklerle çok daha hızlı seyreden teknolojik gelişmeler ile yasal ve etik düzenlemeler senkronize değildir. Gelecekte genom bilimi, malzeme bilimi, nanoteknoloji, doku mühendisliği, bilgi bankaları, veri işleme, doğal dil işleme, sanal gerçeklik ve tıp bilişimi desteğiyle akıllı sağlık uygulamaları öngörülenden çok daha ileri boyutlara taşınabilecektir.

    Description: Jordi Brasó prologa aquesta edició facsímil del Diari de Vilamar (1922), que es publicà a la colònia escolar de Calafell i que simbolitza tot el moviment social de renovació pedagògica catalana d’inicis del segle XX. Juntament amb l’esforç de diversos mestres i pedagogs, hi hagué el de les institucions per fomentar una escola nova centrada en els interessos i les necessitats del jovent. En conseqüència es volgué millorar la qualitat, la vida i la formació de l’infant allunyant-se de la pedagogia memorística i no reflexiva. Això significava posar el punt de mira en l’alumne, i a partir d’aquest protagonisme elaborar tota la tasca educativa. Aquest diari, amb catorze números que van del 29 d’agost al 14 de setembre de 1922, detalla la vida a la colònia de la Primera República Escolar de Vilamar l’any de la seva creació. A càrrec dels alumnes, és un exemple de com era l’estada a Calafell, que funcionava com una ciutat ideal i amb un model d’autogestió democràtica organitzat de manera jeràrquica entre els habitants.

    Description: Engellilik Tarihi Yazıları, 15-16 Kasım 2018 tarihinde İstanbul Üniversitesi Engelliler Uygulama Merkezi ve İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Sağlık Daire Başkanlığı Engelliler Müdürlüğü işbirliği ile düzenlenen Dünden Bugüne Engellilik-Engellilik Araştırmaları Konferansı’nda sunulan çalışmalardan derlendi. Engellilik meselesini disiplinler arası bir yaklaşımla inceleyen ‘Engellilik Araştırmaları’, kuramsal ve uygulamalı bir bilim alanıdır. Bu alan 1970’li yıllarda Amerika Birleşik Devletleri ve İngiltere’de başlayan engelli hakları hareketinin akademik çalışmalara yansımasıyla ortaya çıktı. Sonraki yıllarda engelliliği sosyal, kültürel, tarihsel, hukuki, politik ve etik yönleriyle ele alan disiplinler arası bir araştırma alanı olarak Amerika ve Avrupa’ya yayıldı, pek çok üniversitede lisansüstü, hatta lisans düzeyinde programlar başlatıldı. Türkiye’de 2017 yılında, engellilik araştırmalarının geliştirilmesi amacıyla, İstanbul Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Engellilik Araştırmaları Anabilim Dalı kurularak, yüksek lisans programı açıldı. Engellilik deneyiminin kişisel ve toplumsal düzeyde etkilerini incelemeyi hedefleyen bu programın belkemiğini oluşturan konulardan birisi de, toplumlarda engelliliğin tarihsel ve sosyokültürel boyutlarıydı. Türkiye’de engelliliğin tarihsel ve sosyo-kültürel boyutlarını ilgilendiren alanlarda farklı disiplinler tarafından yapılmış bazı çalışmalara rastlanmaktadır. Bununla birlikte, engellilik çalışmalarıyla ilgilenen araştırmacılar için kaynak ihtiyacı açık bir şekilde eksikliği hissedilen bir konudur. Engellilik Tarihi Yazıları bu amaçla yola çıkmış bir çalışmanın ürünüdür. 2018 Kasım ayında İstanbul’da gerçekleştirilen Engellilik Araştırmaları Konferansı’nın teması Türkiye’de engelliliğin tarihsel, kurumsal, hukuksal ve sosyo-kültürel açıdan incelenmesi hedef alınarak, Dünden Bugüne Engellilik olarak belirlenmişti. Bu konferansta düzenlenen çeşitli panellerde Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’ndan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’ne uzanan geniş bir tarihsel süreç içinde eğitim, istihdam, sosyal yaşam, edebiyat, din gibi alanlarda engellilik konusunda araştırma sonuçları ve bildiriler sunuldu. Ayrıca, Türkiye’de fiziksel tıp ve rehabilitasyonun, özel eğitimin, engellilikle ilgili politikaları oluşturan ve yürüten kurumların tarihsel süreçleri, ilgili konuların uzmanları olan öğretim üyeleri ve bürokratlar tarafından aktarıldı. Engelli hakları ve savunuculuk konusunda sivil toplumdaki hareketlilik 2000 yılı öncesi ve sonrasında faaliyet gösteren önemli sivil toplum örgütü temsilcilerinin yer aldığı panellerde tartışıldı. Bu konferansta sunulan araştırmalardan bazıları ve konferansta sunulmamış olmakla birlikte konuya doğrudan katkı sunabilecek diğer araştırmalar Engellilik Tarihi Yazıları’nda bir araya getirildi. Böylelikle, Türkiye’de henüz yeni gelişmekte olan engellilik tarihi çalışmaları alanında ilk safhada izlenen yaklaşımları ve yapılan araştırmaları görmeyi mümkün kılan ilk derlemenin araştırmacılara sunulması hedeflendi.

The publication deals with the topic of measuring metacognition, with special emphasis on a specific group of intellectually gifted children. It briefly presents the construct of metacognition itself, its relation to intellectual giftedness, together with a taxonomy of metacognitive phenomena. Next, the most important methods developed to assess metacognition are discussed and critically appraised. The monography covers both the methods, in which the data are registered during the execution of the stimulus task (on-line methods), and the methods, where the data are recorded with some time lag (off-line methods). The most extensive part of the publication is devoted to the topic of various measures, used to express the level of metacognitive monitoring.

The book includes classifying the quality of life indicators by considering their individual, social, economic, and organizational context. The application section examines the quality of life of international students, a fragile population group who’ve experienced various disadvantages during the COVID-19 global health crisis. As a matter of fact, each international student provides human capital at the global level, and serves to construct an incorruptible and inexhaustible value in shaping a future that concerns all of humanity.     Description: Title in English: Physical activity as an effective means of non-pharmacological care in oncology. Much of the existing research confirms the assumption that regular physical activity can play a crucial role in nonpharmacological therapy and quality of life management in cancer survivors. The treatment of oncological diseases itself brings about numerous undesirable side effects, such as cardiotoxicity, anxiety, depression, sarcopenia, polyneuropathy, cancer fatigue and sleep disorders. Regular physical activity is associated with significant benefits for health including a lower risk of developing certain types of tumours and elimination of the accompanying undesirable effects of oncological treatment. A number of epidemiological studies found a correlation between regular physical activity and lower mortality linked to oncological diseases. The minimal amount of the activity needed to gain this benefit has not been established, however, the recommendations of ACSM indicate that at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity are needed per week. Physical exercise as nonpharmacological treatment is a domain of cancer survivors therapy whose aim is to incorporate targeted controlled exercise programmes into the overall treatment plan of the patients. Exercise programmes can be performed both in the duration of the illness as well as in the period prior to the treatment or in the course of adjuvant antitumour treatment (including chemotherapy) and in survivors. When prescribing physical activity it is necessary to take current health condition of the patient into account including their comorbidities, age or the level of physical fitness. If controlled physical activity is to become an indispensable part of oncological treatment it will be necessary to prove the therapy is safe and cost-effective.

    Description: In 1993 Michael Wachtel published Ivanov’s Russian Faust, comprising two scenes that appear to continue Goethe’s Faust and most likely represent the beginnings of a Faust drama. Ivanov was the first Russian poet to reevaluate the second part of Goethe’s poem for its extremely symbolic content. As a result, he was considerably influenced by Goethe’s creative experience. This article examines these two Faustian scenes and, more generally, the influence of Goethe’s Faust in Ivanov’s work; adopting a comparative approach, we explore the assimilation into Russian literature of a Central European myth.

    Description: In Making Martyrs: The Language of Sacrifice in Russian Culture from Stalin to Putin, Yuliya Minkova examines the language of canonization and vilification in Soviet and post-Soviet media, official literature, and popular culture. She argues that early Soviet narratives constructed stories of national heroes and villains alike as examples of uncovering a person's "true self." The official culture used such stories to encourage heroic self-fashioningamong Soviet youth and as a means of self-policing and censure. Later Soviet narratives maintained this sacrificial imagery in order to assert the continued hold of Soviet ideology on society, while post-Soviet discourses of victimhood appeal to nationalist nostalgia. Sacrificial mythology continues to maintain a persistent hold in contemporary culture, as evidenced most recently by the Russian intelligentsia's fascination with the former oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky, the Russian media coverage of the war in Ukraine, laws against US adoption of Russian children and against the alleged propaganda of homosexuality aimed at minors, renewed national pride in wartime heroes, and the current usage of the words "sacred victim" in public discourse. In examining these various cases, the book traces the trajectory of sacrificial language from individual identity construction to its later function of lending personality and authority to the Soviet and post-Soviet state.

    Description: Paradoxality as a Specific Feature of Dostoevsky’s Literary Works. Techniques, Stylistics, Mechanisms of Action. All works by Dostoevsky reveal the presence of paradox. These paradoxes act according to mechanisms that depend either on the fictional (polyphonic) or nonfictional (monologic) text “dominant.” Taking as a starting point (a) the arguments of G.S. Morson, according to whom paradoxes “seem to carry the quintessence of ‘Dostoevskyism’, particularly of his brand of humor,” (b) the analysis of Dostoevsky’s paradoxical humor; and (c) the three main categories of paradoxes (“empty or rhetorical”, “negative”, “positive”), we argue that Dostoevsky applies a fourth type of paradox, one that affects neither the premise nor the ending of the paradoxical structure, but their intrinsic logical interconnection. This article analyses a repertoire of paradoxical techniques used by Dostoevsky, focusing on the destabilizing humoristic function they enact.

    Description: A state's ability to maintain mandatory conscription and wage war rests on the idea that a "real man" is one who has served in the military. Yet masculinity has no inherent ties to militarism. The link between men and the military, argues Maya Eichler, must be produced and reproduced in order to fill the ranks, engage in combat, and mobilize the population behind war. In the context of Russia's post-communist transition and the Chechen wars, men's militarization has been challenged and reinforced. Eichler uncovers the challenges by exploring widespread draft evasion and desertion, anti-draft and anti-war activism led by soldiers' mothers, and the general lack of popular support for the Chechen wars. However, the book also identifies channels through which militarized gender identities have been reproduced. Eichler's empirical and theoretical study of masculinities in international relations applies for the first time the concept of "militarized masculinity," developed by feminist IR scholars, to the case of Russia.

    Description: This book is dedicated to the imagination of migrant communities from former Yugoslavia. It contextualizes their imagination in relation to the history, space and culture of Yugoslavia. Its empirical basis is grounded in the contemporary history of the migration from former Yugoslavia. The first part of the work deals with the methodology and theory relevant to the case studies. Besides the theory of imagination originating in the thought of Émile Durkheim, Cornelius Castoriadis, Benedict Anderson and Arjun Appadurai. I have also focused on the theory of popular culture, quoting its founding thinkers related to the Birmingham school of Centre of contemporary Cultural Studies, as well as John Fiske and the parallel culture- -driven research of Pierre Bourdieu and Michel de Certeau. The theoretical framework of this book generally relates to Marxism, and the works of Antonio Gramsci, David Harvey, Immanuel Wallerstein, Slavoj Žižek and others. The methodology of this book is closely inspired by the anthropological tradition of participant observation. The primary sources are heterogeneous and partly issue from the narration of the informants during several in-depth interviews as well as from narration, edited either by the different institutions of the host-country or the by editors based in the home-country. The second part of the book provides a historical and geographical context for the case studies that follow. It presents the contemporary history of migration from the western Balkans starting at the beginning of the 20th century as cross border migrations following patterns of industrial modernisation. The economic migrations of the working classes were supplemented by migrations of members of the intellectual elites who chose merely symbolic destinations for emigration. However, the core-periphery of primarily economic relations of the world-system as identified by Immanuel Wallerstein remained unchanged even by this symbolic logic. Migrations during the second half of the 20th century are presented in more detail. The political turmoil of 1941-1948 which established the Yugoslav Socialist Federation in its position between the two blocs and this point is the essential contextual reference of this book. During the socialist years in Yugoslavia we may identify two main motives of migration – economic and political. These may somehow relate to the previous histories of popular and elite emigration but under the new political regime it changed substantially. These two motives are part of the establishment of specific segments of migrants and their interrelations. Starting from the early 1960s the economic motive of migration gave rise to the phenomenon of Gastatbajteri (guest-workers) that changed the social and cultural landscape of former Yugoslavia, and together with it also many cities of Western European and other host-countries. However, the frontier between the two types of migrants (political and economic) is not completely defined and in many cases the two motives coincided. The coincidence of the political and economic motives for migration may also be visible during and after the break-up of Yugoslavia. In this part of the book I cover the history of the 1990s refugee migrations that were often linked to the local practice of ethnic homogenization conducted by all parties involved in the series of conflicts. Besides, many migrants from regions that were not directly involved in the war used the possibility to obtain refugee status to escape the economic, social and intellectual downturn of the successor countries of former Yugoslavia. Here, the basic theoretical distinction between voluntary and involuntary migrations is discussed arguing that practically no migration is voluntary and should the migrants be completely free to choose, many would prefer to stay at home. Three host countries of migrants from former Yugoslavia are presented more in detail: France, Austria and the Czech Republic. Each of these countries has its specificities in the world-system and also in relation to migrations from former Yugoslavia. Differences and similarities among them are presented in relation to the different segments of migrants crystallised either according to their ethno-confessional/political background and/or motive of migration. Different segments of migrants from former Yugoslavia are formed around different memory-systems. As a first case study I present politics of memory linked to two lieux de mémoire – one in France (Villefranche-de-Rouergue) and one in Austria (Bleiburg). By coincidence both are important in particular for memories of migrants of Croatian origin. The two memorials however, present completely opposing views of national history. Villefranche- de-Rouergue is a symbol for Croatian antifacist resistance and Bleiburg a symbol for the retreat of collaborationist forces of the pro-Nazi puppet Independent state of Croatia. Both of these memorials however, form an example of political memory that even if on the first sight seems contradictory, is by definition syncretic. If the first case study deals with history and memory the second one completes it with the examination of the space dimension. Here I present different images linked to space that surrounded migrants from former Yugoslavia in their host-countries and I discuss also memories of spaces and places in the home-country. I identify three such images – Road, Landscape and Motherland. Based on these images I propose redesigning the nostalgic cartographies of migrants from those presenting world-views of the external researchers (nostalgia of multiculturalism) to those specifically declared by migrants (nostalgia of Home). The third case study is the one that is the most similar in form to most Cultural and Subcultural studies and deals in detail with imagination linked to music. Here, similar to the politics of memory, different segments of migrants are confronted with rock and folk music as well as with a specific local variety of pop-folk. Furthermore, patriotic and electronic music are discussed as well as the topic of Balkanism in cinematography and the communication of ethnic origins on French internet websites.

    Description: Humor and Irony as a Means of Combating Atheism in the Discourse of F.M. Dostoevsky . The question of the God’s existence troubled Dostoevsky throughout his life. He created a very convincing portrait of the atheist of his time. He did not consider unbelievers immoral, but only “infected with recklessness”, and when speaking of his atheist acquaintances, often admitted that they were good people. Dostoevsky created the image of an atheist as an intelligent person, who is guided not by the heart, but by the mind and who often evokes sympathy for his questing, his thinking, and his suffering (like Versilov or Ivan Karamazov). If we carefully consider the “atheistic” characters of Dostoevsky, however, we will see that atheism is a phenomenon associated with something both bad and funny. Through humorous details, Dostoevsky imperceptibly creates an image of the “atheist” as a comical and frivolous person.

Šiandien kotryniečių bendruomenė veikia ne tik Lenkijoje, Vokietijoje, Lietuvoje, glaudžiai su Baltijos jūra susijusiuose kraštuose, bet ir Brazilijoje, Afrikoje, Filipinuose, Haityje, Rusijoje, Baltarusijoje, o kongregacijos centras įkurtas Grotaferatoje netoli Romos (Italijoje). Iš viso kongregaciją sudaro apie 550 vienuolių. 1645 m. Krakėse, Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštystės teritorijoje, funduotas vienuolynas buvo vienas sėkmingiausių Žemaičių vyskupo Jurgio Tiškevičiaus projektų, tebesitęsiantis iki šiandien. Kotrynietės nuėjo ilgą istorinį kelią, ieškodamos savo tapatybės, skleisdamos Dievo žodį ir meilę artimui. Kongregacijos specifika – šalia kontempliatyvaus gyvenimo numatyta aktyvi socialinė – karitatyvinė ir šviečiamoji – veikla, kuri buvo vykdoma atsižvelgiant į laikotarpį ir visuomenės raidos ypatybes. Šios knygos tikslas – parodyti Lietuvos kotryniečių veiklą nuo vienuolyno įkūrimo Krakėse XVII a. pirmojoje pusėje iki XX a. pabaigos, išryškinti, kaip kongregacijos įkūrėjos palaimintosios Reginos Protmann (1552–1613)2 charizma skleidžiasi lokalioje bendruomenėje įvairiais istoriniais periodais, skirtingose kultūrinėse, socialinėse ir politinėse aplinkose.[...]. This study reveals the life story of the Lithuanian sisters of St Catherine in 1645–1988. On the initiative of the Beatified Regina Protmann (1552–1613), born in Braniewo (German: Braunsberg, Polish: Braniewo) the Congregation of the sisters of St Catherine Virgin and Martyr was established. In 1583 the first regulation of Regina Protmann was created followed by the second regulation in 1602. Alongside with the contemplative life, the specific of the Congregation is the active social, i.e. charitable and educational, activities. The main purpose of the monograph is to highlight how the charisma of the Beatified Regina Protmann unfolds in Lithuania, i.e. in a local community, at different historical periods, in different cultural, social, and political contexts. It is aimed at reflecting on how the regulation of Regina Protmann was adapted to the conditions of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (GDL), how it was modified during the time of the Republic of Lithuania, and how much it changed after the Second Vatican Ecclesiastical Council. It was also aimed at revealing the main characters of this study, the sisters, their charitable and educational activities, their impact on the society, and their material situation. It has also been assumed that the study will help to better assess the specifics of the Lithuanian sisters of St Catherine in the context of the whole Congregation of St Catherine.[...]

    Description: El patrimoni literari pot esdevenir una «eina» on sentir-nos identificats com a societat, al mateix temps que pot convertir-se en un element diferenciador amb capacitat de posicionar-se i esdevenir agent socioeconòmic. Perquè això succeeixi cal que abandoni la seva posició perifèrica i se’n professionalitzi la gestió. Precisament l’objectiu d’aquesta publicació és evidenciar la importància de la gestió del patrimoni literari perquè es (re)conegui com a propi al si d’una societat i sobrevisqui al pas del temps reconeixent-li i reivindicant-ne la importància en termes identitaris, de cohesió social i econòmics, com a motor de desenvolupament. Per aconseguir-ho es comença investigant sobre el concepte de patrimoni literari, entès com a (poli)sistema, per després conceptualitzar-ne la gestió. Seguidament, es fa una aproximació, amb voluntat comparativa, a l’estat de la qüestió de la gestió a Catalunya i a Anglaterra, per acabar creant un model de valoració de la gestió del patrimoni literari. Finalment, s’exposen les conclusions pertinents amb la voluntat de posicionar el patrimoni literari en la centralitat del sistema cultural català.

En els primers capítols es reflexiona sobre què és la variació lingüística: Joan Argente destaca la importància de tenir en compte la universalitat i la diversitat lingüístiques, Maria Teresa Turell estudia l’heterogeneïtat lingüística a partir de tècniques quantitatives variacionistes, i Max W. Wheeler tracta del paper de la variació lingüística diacrònica. Els capítols següents exposen com s’analitza la variació en les diferents disciplines amb un estudi de cas aplicat al català: Maria-Rosa Lloret i Joaquim Viaplana tracten de la variació en fonologia i morfologia; Mercè Lorente, Maria Teresa Cabré i Lluís de Yzaguirre, la variació en el lèxic; Joan Julià s’ocupa de la variació en la fonètica, i Gemma Rigau, en la sintaxi. Vicent Salvador, finalment, presenta les connexions entre la variació lingüística i la dialectologia, la pragmàtica i l’anàlisi del discurs.
