Notes: Abstract High-spin states in107Sn were studied using the reaction54Fe(56Fe, 2pn)107Sn. An odd-parity band was identified as based on thevh 11/2 orbit by measuring theγ-ray linear polarization. Also were confirmed the excited states based on thevd 5/2 andvg 7/2 orbits. The halflives of the 17/2+ and 11/2− states were measured to be 0.25(4) ns and 28(11) ps, respectively. The experimental level structure and its interpretation were in good agreement with a shell model calculation.

Notes: Abstract The γ-decay and half life of the t1/2=60(3) ns Iπ=8+ isomer in100Cd have been studied with a recoil catcher setup inside the multidetector π-array OSIRIS. Evaporation neutrons and charged particles from the reaction58Ni+46Ti were measured in coincidence with delayed γ-rays. Six new γ-ray transitions with intensities of 1–10% of the main γ-ray cascade were found, two new states established and firm spin-parity assignments were made to all states below the isomer. The new states were identified as the 4+ and 6+ members of the proton πg9/2 −2 multiplet.

Notes: Abstract In an in-beam study of 67 151 Ho84 we have established its high-spin states up to 10 MeV and have suggested spin assignments up to (49/2) at 6.2 MeV. The main decay-cascade proceeds through the yrast states of the πh3 11/2νf2 7/2 and πh3 11/2νf7/2h9/2 5-particle configurations, which are predicted with good accuracy in parameter-free shell-model calculations. States with one proton in d3/2, or involving νi13/2 or νf7/2×3− excitations were also identified.

Notes: Abstract Through an in-beam study of the 69 153 Tm84 nucleus we have identified the πh 11 2/5 /2νf 7 2/2 and πh 11 2/5 νf7/2h9/2 7-valence particle configurations up to their fully aligned spins of 47/2− and 51/2−. Shell model calculations predict that in the πh 11 2/5 νf7/2h9/2 configuration, contrary to the π 11 2/5 νf 7 2/2 case, the h11/2 proton seniority does not increase regularly with spin. This seniority inversion is verified by the data.

Notes: Abstract Levels up to 9.3 MeV excitation in22Ne were studied with the19 F(α, pγ) 22Ne reaction atE α = 12 MeV. Level energies, branching ratios, mean lifetimes, spins and mixing ratios were obtained for a number of levels. Relevant results are compared with many-particle shell-model calculations.

Notes: Abstract Microscopic analysis of spin-current contributions to magnetic quadrupole resonances in (e, e′) cross sections has been performed using the particle-core coupling version of the shell model for 1p-shell nuclei. The contributions from spin-dipole and spin-octupole modes to M2 excitations of 1p-shell nuclei are traced up toq≈2.5 fm−1.

Notes: Abstract The inlfuence of state dependent short range correlations on the occupation numbers of the single particle shell model orbits of the doubly closed shell nuclei16O and40Ca is examined. The study shows that the effect of the state dependence of the short range correlations is rather small. The total depletion of the nuclear Fermi sea changes slightly compared with the one calculated by considering state independent short range correlations.

Notes: Abstract High spin states in theN=50 nucleus93Tc were reinvestigated by using the reaction64Zn (35Cl,4p 2n) at a beam energy of 140 MeV. This was done particularly with a view to observe anyγ rays upto 2.7 MeV which may have been missed in our earlier study where the experimental conditions were set to observeγ rays upto 2 MeV. We found four newγ rays of energy: 2484, 2164, 2130 and 69 keV. We have placed theseγ rays in the level scheme and it now gets extended to 49/2−. Though there is no substantial change in the level scheme, placing theγ rays in the level scheme has resulted into two important conclusions: (1) We have performed shell model calculations for93Tc nucleus within a model space which encompasses an enlarged proton configuration and allows for the excitation of the neutron across theN=50 core. The excitation of a single neutron across theN=50 core satisfactorily explains the new level scheme. (2) The energy of the 17/2− isomeric state is now unambiguously placed at 2185 keV.

Notes: Abstract Isotopic variation of rms charge radii of even isotopes of tin (112–124) has been calculated on the basis of an average one body potential. The potential parameters were optimized in the lead region after taking the effect of core polarisation into consideration. The optimized potential parameters were then interpolated in the tin region. Single particle (-hole) energies along with the orbit radius have also been calculated. Comparison with experimental results show very good agreement. The calculated charge distributions after the usual corrections were subjected to model independent Fourier-Bessel analysis from where Fourier-Bessel coefficients have been extracted. Results of rms charge radii show that this phenomenological approach gives a very good description of the experimental situation.

Notes: Abstract Lifetimes of high spin states in the nucleus90Tc have been measured via the fusion evaporation reactions58Ni(36Ar,3pn)90Tc at 140 MeV and58Ni(35Cl,2pn)90Tc at 120 MeV beam energy. The OSIRIS spectrometer as well as a new neutron-γ-coincidence setup were used to measure lifetimes in the 10−12-10−9 s range by the recoil distance Doppler-shift method. By means ofγ-multiplicity and neutron-gated spectra fifteen lifetimes wered-educed. The experimental branching ratios and transition probabilities are compared to predictions of shell model calculations in a restricted π(p1/2), π(g9/2), ν(p1/2), and ν(g9/2) configuration space. In most cases the agreement with the calculations using the Gross-Frenkel parameters is striking but the results for several yrare states very sensitively depend on the residual interaction used.
