Abstract
IN some species of Notostraca, populations occur in which no males are found and these have generally been considered to reproduce by parthenogenesis; the European Triops (=Apus) cancriformis (Bosc.) exhibits a geographical variation in the occurrence of males, which are less common, or absent, in the north of its range, so that the species has been supposed to show parthenogenesis in colder, bisexuality in warmer regions, in the same manner as Trichoniscus (Isopoda, Crustacea)1.
