Abstract

Information concerning the mechanisms of the solid-state polymerization in TS-12 (dodeca-5, 7-diin-1, 12-diyl-bis-p-toluolsulphonate) is deduced from optical absorption spectra and gel-permeation chromatography. The monomer and polymer crystal data are reported. The spectroscopic properties of the polymer chains and of the short-chain (dimer, trimer, …) intermediates of the low-temperature photoreaction are described in this paper. The photochemical and thermal generation and decay reactions are discussed.
