Oral immunization with Porphyromonas gingivalis outer membrane protein and CpG oligodeoxynucleotides attenuates P. gingivalis-accelerated atherosclerosis and inflammation
2017, Journal of Oral BiosciencesCitation Excerpt :Plasmid pMD125 expressing 40k-OMP was kindly provided by Dr. Yoshimitsu Abiko from Nihon University. The 40k-OMP protein was purified from a cell suspension of E. coli K-12 harboring pMD125, as described previously [22]. The purity of 40k-OMP was determined by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), and no contaminating protein bands were noted.
Sublingual vaccination with outer membrane protein of Porphyromonas gingivalis and Flt3 ligand elicits protective immunity in the oral cavity
2009, Biochemical and Biophysical Research CommunicationsCitation Excerpt :Plasmid pMD125 expressing 40k-OMP was kindly provided by Dr. Yoshimitsu Abiko (Nihon University). The 40k-OMP was purified to homogeneity from a cell suspension of Escherichia coli K-12 harboring pMD125, as described previously [20]. The purity of the 40k-OMP was determined by SDS–PAGE, and no contaminating protein bands were noted.
Egg yolk-derived immunoglobulin (IgY) against Porphyromonas gingivalis 40-kDa outer membrane protein inhibits coaggregation activity
2007, Archives of Oral BiologyCitation Excerpt :For the present study, we prepared a large amount of highly purified r40-kDa OMP from E. coli and constructed a specific IgY against r40-kDa OMP from immunized hen egg yolk, then investigated whether the IgY exhibits an ability to inhibit P. gingivalis-associated coaggregation. Recombinant 40-kDa OMP was prepared by a method reported previously.8 Hens (Rhode Island Red strain, 200 days old) were immunized intramuscularly in both legs with r40-kDa OMP (0.25 mg/ml per animal) using Freund's complete adjuvant (Becton Dickinson, MD).
