Abstract

The program CAELCO is part of a program system for treatment of γ-ray spectra. It is able to identify the nuclides present in the γ-ray spectra of a given sample irradiated and counted under different conditions. It uses a catalog containing information about 250 nuclides and an associated γ-line catalog containing 2500 lines. It corrects for interfering reactions and most line interferences. The concentrations of all detected elements are calculated (even those for which no data in the reference sample are available). For those elements not present in the sample a detection limit is estimated.
