A new limit on the decay μ+→e++γ+γ

Abstract

A search has been made for the “forbidden” decay μ⁺→e⁺+γ+γ. With a confidence limit of 90%, the branching ratio is found to be less than 4 × 10⁻⁶ which is four times lower than previous measurements.
