Abstract

The three different sets of nuclear pairing energies given by Cameron, Dostrovsky and Gardner are used to predict the (n, p) cross sections at 14.5 MeV of the isotopes of iron, copper and zinc. It is shown that the two values δZ = 1.7 and δN = 2.5 MeV of Gardner yield better predicted values than the other two sets wherein δZ and δN are assigned a different value for each Z and N. The isotopes of cadmium illustrate that the inclusion of Q values and δ values improves the systematics of (n, p) reactions given in the firts paper of this series1).
