Mössbauer studies of neptunium intermetallics with heavy electron properties

Abstract

New Mössbauer measurements on the medium heavy electron Laves-phases NpRu2, NpOs2, NpIr2, and on the heavy electron compound NpBe13 are reported. Comparison is made with some intermetallics with AuCu3 structure and with high pressure Mössbauer data on other Np compounds. For the medium heavy Laves-phases and NpBe13 we found a linear correlation between contact electron density and the coefficient of low temperature electronic specific heat.
